I'd like to see how Young Earth Creationists try to explain the existence of aged dinosaur fossils. I mean, I do admit that everything I know could be wrong. But I don't rely on alternatives like absolute certainty from a book whose supporters literally claim humans coexisted with dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs were created along with everything else. All the fossils are generally miss-dated. Consider, there is such a thing as rot. Delicate ferns and mollusk and other fossils would have completely rotted away long before they could ever think about fossilizing, if the standard of 10,000 or more years for fossilization was accurate.

Fossilization in the ancient past was a process that we probably don't understand at all. But, we DO have several fossilized people and other things that we know are only a hundred years old or less.

In other words, fossilization that takes less than a hundred years is in evidence. So the whole theory about the age of "aged dinosaurs" needs to be re-hashed.

Cool

Which dinosaur did Jesus ride? Why aren't dinosaurs ever mentioned in the Bible?

Now you are being just silly. By far the majority of animals and birds and fish are not mentioned in the Bible by kind. Like the rest, dinosaurs are mention in general reference to all the animals.

Probably the dinosaurs died out shortly after the Great Flood of Noah's day, not being able to find enough food to keep them going after they were let out of the ark.

Cool

I guess that explains why so many bugs went extinct. They were stomped on by T-Rexes on the ark. Natural selection at work.

The ark was of a size and shape that the dinosaurs could have been kept caged, and the insects, as well, in different cages.

Cool

What about parasites? (I don't mean churches, I mean the microscopic organisms that need a host to survive)

Who was hosting them?

What will the Bitcoin network look like in the year 2100?  Will people still be running and using Bitcoin?

So Exciting.  What will the world look like in 2100?  Will Bitcoin play a part in it?

~CfA~

Lol slow down. I don't even think Bitcoin will survive past 2050. The NSA is already closer to Quantum computers than they ever have been.

Or maybe not.
403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "What if there is an EMP" on: September 10, 2016, 08:59:17 PM
EMP would simply break down worldwide communications. We would have a multitude of blockchains depending on which local communications structures remained intact. The problem would be sorting it all out after worldwide Internet came back up.

Cool

Minor error but, unlike CoD, in real life, an EMP disables electronics forever. Once a device has been damaged by the EMP, it can't ever be usable again.

407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FACT CHECK: Bitcoin Blockchain will be 700GB in 4 Years on: September 10, 2016, 08:38:06 PM
Quantum Computers are advancing much faster in calc and storage capacity. In 4 years from now, QCs will have cracked the blockchain, and Bitcoin will be gone, or at least, residing on a QC.

Cool

Wrong.

You could have been right though, if you were aware of some mathematical facts:

What we do know is that internet speed is advancing at a rate nowhere close to the rate the Blockchain is growing, I hope people have prepared for themselves some real life hobbies, especially since downloading the Blockchain will become a long process (taking a couple of weeks), andBitcointalk.org will experience more DDoS attacks.

We have underestimated quantum computers in a big way.

I agree with that, but we're not there yet.

It means absolutely nothing.

I disagree, internet speeds will never be able to cope with maintaining a 1 TB download to a duration of less than a week. This is not even counting the daily synchronizations necessary for spending/receiving coins. It could be a couple of Gigabytes for all we know.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "What if there is an EMP" on: September 10, 2016, 08:29:08 PM
What is EMP? (ElectroMagnetic Pulse?), what does it has to do with fridges and bitcoins!
Sorry but I don't understand this, if you mean bomb then the bitcoins will not disappear if you leave the private keys to someone else or the statement in case you die.

Fridges would be nuked by an EMP, my point of bringing them up was, you'd starve to death quicker than you could cry about losing your Bitcoin.

When I was locked up last month, I heard one guy discussing the future collapse of fiat currency, and how we would be transitioning to a gold based economy.

First, you were in jail last month? Second, there was a guy discussing a transition to gold in jail?

Hahaha, not jail man. There are lots of places you can be locked up that aren't jail, they're certainly like jail, but different.
409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WORST decision about BTC on: September 10, 2016, 08:26:47 PM
My worst decision was having a paper wallet which my roommate binned thinking it was garbage.

Also, using Armory and then quitting, so I would have to download a near 80+ Gigs years later to try and unlock a few mBTC
410  Other / Meta / Re: Should we change our passwords? on: September 10, 2016, 08:24:03 PM
Always change your password. At least once a month is my recommendation. It does not matter whether or not there could have been a hack. Probability wise, if your password stays the same, then every day, a potential hacker gets closer to breaking into your account.

412  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: how to join a signature campaign? on: September 10, 2016, 08:16:58 PM
im interested in joining a sig campaign.. how am i able to join? can u pls help me with this? im still new in here and i want to earn some bits.. thanks! Smiley

Basically what Norrisk said, go to his link and see if there is a campaign that is hiring Newbies. For newcomers I would personally recommend 777Coin.

Go to the signature campaign's thread (The specific thread linked on the overview thread), then follow their instructions, they usually vary, but most of them require you to give them your current post count and Bitcoin address. Also, different sig codes exist for different ranks, so make sure you pay attention to that.

I wouldn't buy an account for signature campaigns, it would take you an eternity to get a return on your investment, and you'd have to hope the account you bought is not a hacked account that eventually gets recovered. Buying an account for reselling purposes would be a lot more feasible, though the risk of buying an account that has a loan out or is hacked will still be there.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / "What if there is an EMP" on: September 10, 2016, 08:14:29 PM
This is an 'argument' I've been hearing before I was into Bitcoin. This was when I would be using my Android tablet in class, doing our math classwork on it. Of course, most people thought I was showing off, others thought it was cool, but some would also say

"What if there is an EMP? That would wipe out your entire course work dude"

When I was locked up last month, I heard one guy discussing the future collapse of fiat currency, and how we would be transitioning to a gold based economy. He asked me what my investments were in, and I said "Bitcoin". He said "Don't do Bitcoin man, if there's a huge EMP bomb in the future, you will be left with nothing". Of course, my response was the exact same response that I would always have when I was in class:

"Dude, if there is ever a large EMP attack, I'm pretty sure your Bitcoins would be the last thing on your mind, I'd be more worried about the fridge, schools, banks, and elevators with people trapped inside of them"

It's pretty interesting what lengths people will go to try and justify making fun of Bitcoin as an "edgy Libertarian" thing, but the fact is, cryptocurrency is perhaps the safest way to store your money. Biometrics (ie fingerprints) can be forged or hacked, so can facial recognition, as can fiat currency, but not cryptocurrency.

Has anybody else ever heard the "What if there is an EMP" argument?
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Food industry and cryptocurrency on: September 10, 2016, 08:07:55 PM
Can't see this taking off at all, sorry buddy. I'm pretty certain it wouldn't work. Why couldn't they just continue to use fiat or even bitcoin. People who farm or catch lobster make a lot of money they won't need to stray too far from what they do now which works any way.

You would be surprised at how the availability of computers is going up exponentially. Farms will not only implement Bitcoin, but I'm pretty sure that independent markets which are threatened by the government (most of which are farms and ranches) will make a killing selling things like raw milk and rain water on hidden marketplaces.

417  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Apple rereleases Samsung S7 without a headphone jack on: September 10, 2016, 07:55:42 PM
I am still in awe how Apple is playing masses. They are releasing overpriced piece of hardware, incompatible with other standards, with questionable solutions, closed architecture.
And people are amazed by it, thought of it as luxury, what a band of sheep.

I think you missed the most important point of all.. product quality.
In case you missed my topic here on it there is NOW a class-action lawsuit for the latest drama..
Touch-Disease

Remember Bend-Gate ?

Over priced ..ya it would be if the shit worked LOL  Cheesy
In other words it's far worse than that.

And on the topic here ?
I have to shake my head..

I like my full size headphones for at home on my stereo when i might play Counter-Strike
But i have a collection of Earbuds i spent years shopping for.. check out Head-Fi.org  Cool

I have actually ordered some off Newegg tried them once and then gave them away.
I like to try cheaper ones and see how they are etc.
For some reason i always end up favoring cheaper Sony Earbuds though.
When i got my first pair with 9mm Neodynium magnets the tech was newer and you had to spend $100 to get them.
Years later they cost $10 now at Wallmart.. same tech specs and build quality etc.
People just assume if it's cheap it has to be crap.. NOT so !

I would never by any Beats bullshit though..

I did lots of research before on Wireless Earbuds and was ready to spend any amount of money needed.
Problem is the tech is actually crap.
Google search it and get into it and you will all see.. this is a primitive technology still.
Wireless headphones are not a good option for those that want quality sound.
If your a noob-lemming and don't care then yeah have at 'er go nuts.
Me ? No thanks i will pass thanks.

Right on, this is what I've been saying. We already have had devices implementing the wireless headphone technology, so it's not a "unique innovation". Secondly, it's still in its primitive stages, there's a reason phones haven't switched to that. Sound quality will be very poor, and you will most likely die of brain tumor before you can die of starvation from buying Apple products.
418  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What's the heck with YoBit signature campaign ?! on: September 10, 2016, 02:53:52 PM
I'm very sad that the campaign is now closed to new members. The moderators aren't very smart, because more post = more money for them...

That is true. And I suppose they don't take newbies, right?

No, they do not take brand new members. As of now, they have currently closed signups for everyone. They also seem to have held signature campaign payouts, most likely because of the rise in BTC value. They'll probably pay out when the value of BTC drops again.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Circumvent TOR Block on Blockchain wallet on: September 10, 2016, 01:36:35 AM
Does anybody know how to do it?

I accidentally set my settings on my Blockchain wallet to block TOR

But now I can only use TOR for some reason (I just installed DNSCrypt and now only TOR works)

Who is to say that the inside-job people aren't Muslims - Bush, Cheney, Silverman, many others - secretly.

Cool

You realize that the star of David does not have any affiliation with being a Muslim right? Even your URL reads "Neoconservative Jews". Unless you think they're the same people (White people: Damn, all these sand n*****s are the same to me!)
