this might be bigger than it looks on the surface. we have
a politician now really accepting bitcoin donations an established process a state official ok'ing them.
of course, it is not as easy for him as posting a single address online like a charity. he needs to collect name and address beforehand. i am sure there is an easy solution for that.

But selling it? Selling what? One thing he can do now is create a new account in his DB assign a bazillion coins to it. Then go here with a new sockpuppet account and state: "i want to get rid of this btcst account, someone buy it from me for 30%" there he sold his own debt

if you want to target that platform i suggest implementing a good SMS-based service and getting contracts with carriers to have free SMS for you.

i like the idea of easy sql selects locally. enables many interesting applications.
so it is a rpc client? or does it use p2p commands?
if it ONLY stores the unspent ouputs, how does it react to chain reorganisations?

you really have to address the "if you don't hold it, you don't own it" idea.
if you alone have the private keys - you hold it. fullstop.
unlike gold certificates. precious metals are substituted with paper very easily because they are hard to use in actual transactions. bitcoin overcomes this barrier because they are made to transact.

i'd say if someone bets copious amounts on the forum there should be a bot/person taking the btc into escrow or the thread gets locked.
and i have to agree what exactly does it prove if you show 1000 btc if the bet sum is 10000 btc?

In the spot Chief Officer of Finnish central bank stated that it is perfectly legal to use bitcoins. That should improve some confidence wow. i would really like to see that clip, even if its in finnish.the word of a head of central bank has some weight.

these mean nothing. just someone with a 10k address spending small amounts. if you notice the "big" addresses are all linked in a chain.

Can you fix the SatoshiDICE software to stop generating a ton of tiny outputs, in the event of a loss? One of the long term drains on resources is tracking unspent coins -- and SD creates 0.00000001 outputs for losing bets. We have to individually track each one of those outputs until it is spent. Of course, it is difficult for users to find ways to spend 0.00000001 BTC, so the obvious database bloat for each bitcoin user results...
it is a little bit offtopic, but may i suggest that if that becomes a concern - the bitcoin client just merges the output with a regular transaction just for defragmenting reasons? as a coin selection algorithm it could always pick the smallest outputs first for example. obviously there could be multiple (configurable) coin selectors, with different focus. privacy, output minimisation, transaction size/fee minimisation..

password reset does not work: An Error Was Encountered
Unable to load the requested file: reset_password.php
also, you seemingly try to do the right thing and present the same error message when doing password retrieval, and display the same error message if the email account exists or not. but the styling is different, so i can check if someone has an account at your site.
