404  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Onwards and Forwards! (Hello crypto land :D) on: August 02, 2016, 09:02:05 AM
Hello forum, I've read and read, and studied and learned.. for about 2 weeks... but now I gotta ask a few very beginner questions Cheesy Hello bitcointalk!

My story, I have some BTC / ETH and ETC on QuadrigaCX (Vancouver based, Canadian exchange)
It was a great option for a crypto noob, to lose my crypto virginity. After some study, I had finally been convinced I want some of the action. I got in about a week or two before the Ethereum HardFork, and actually didn't even know it was coming. I got confused trying to figure out what exactly happened/what the dao was, and in fact am still kinda a lil confused about it all, but I have read enough articles to somewhat have a basic understanding of the current situation. Luckily for me, QuadCX provided us with ETC's, as I heard some exchanges didn't handout any ETC to people who had ETH. Without getting to side tracked, let me get to some ?'s.

Now, I'm considering taking my coins off QuadCX and moving them into a wallet. I read about some horror stories/scams on here, of exchanges going down or never paying out when people ask for withdraws. It this a smart move? I'm concerned, if I move my crypto into a wallet can that software get hacked as well? I'd like to move to 2sV (2 step verification) wallet, as I think that'd have better security.

If this is dumb, and I should just leave my coins on the exchange, pls let me know.

Another reason I wanna get familiar with crypto wallets is I wanna purchase Ripple. I'm thinking either with fiat, or ETC. TBH, if I knew how to move my ETC to Poloniex, I'd already have spent 25% of my ETC on buying XRP, then sent the XRP to a XRP wallet... but I'm not that crypto savy yet. As far as I know, this wouldn't affect my current ETH in anyway. True?

Learning about Ripple, I learned a little bit about the outdated Ripple Trade, then about GateHub, and how Ripple Trade accounts, were moved to GateHub.. So GateHub is a wallet+exchange? Also, I read this.. http://blog.gatehub.net/post/147641039422/gatehub-fifth-handling-of-the-ethereum-hard-fork
Which really questions my desire to do business with them at all.  ( Did they choose a "winning chain" yet? Has this resolved yet? Isn't this scammy?)

Terminoligy ?'s
HODLer = someone who never sells, like a crypto hoarder?
FUD = ? No clue.
KYC = something to do with a transaction, that has ID built into it?

Hello & welcome to crypto land!
Your wallet is the safest place you can store your bitcoins! on your desktop or hardware wallet, (if its gonna be your desktop use an external hard drive to save your wallet .dat file)

FUD stands for - fear uncertainty doubt movie
thats correct for HOLD

405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: etc will reach 0.01 ? on: August 02, 2016, 06:39:28 AM
look at the massive pump today, i think etc will reach 0.01 Roll Eyes

It may not, they've just started to dump it. most likely, the rest of the whales will keep milking its price now that they get to have more to invest to ETC. but we'll see. ETC seem to be getting popular than ETH itself.

Etc is not etc and i dont believe that it will cross to that price and seems way to far to be happen but still little possibilites will be there if the big whales and other big traders will lift up that coin for some good purposes but seems the way i look at it it will got the same fortune to those other promising coin that has been dump, although it was bit popular today its because it is being link to eth but still it will not gaurantee that this coin would surpass eth and b rise to that price.

the road to .01 is not that far away just 271btc , my ETH investment bag is fliped for ETC , just the long term stayed , lets see now what magic  ETC can do
406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Incredible stories of Bitcoin millionaires on: August 02, 2016, 06:25:21 AM
That is inspiring to us that don't have 1 btc yet  Undecided
So we know that maybe someday if we study and work hard enough in crypto we just might make that much so day.. not!  Cheesy

I think we lost that train, our chance now for getting millionaires is to get on X coin holding a shitload of that, then sell it for bitcoin!  Grin i really dont see any other option!  Cool
407  Economy / Speculation / Re: what's happen for bitcoin price?!! on: August 02, 2016, 06:18:02 AM
keep calm mate, iv seen it in real time touching 200USD a year ago, and by mistake a press the BUY button instead of SELL , and guess what... iv won! Tongue dont go crazy, if you have fiat buy more, remember if you are not a whale bitcoin is long term investment !!
408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin @ $592.. we are crashing on: August 02, 2016, 06:09:55 AM
Nothing to worry about, just keep calm and buy bitcoin , lets see how btc bleed same thing happen last summer, nothing to worry about! just dont hold any shit coins, cause all the market will go down, expect from ETC as it seems with that freaking insane volume!
409  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How man bitcoin wallets do you have and why ? on: August 01, 2016, 12:44:08 PM
Don't trust any exchange wallet this may save you from some lost coins drama! Always use a desktop wallet or elec and get a spare wallet for cold storage (aka offline) if you want to carry BTC with you on the mobile always loaded it with what you need. Keep an eye on rooted phones not so safe usually
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tired of ETH and ETC? Learn about secured NXT/Ardor smart transactions on: August 01, 2016, 11:22:43 AM
Next has a decent step long time now, but it's price is been stuck for a while now, and by while I mean years , good for community bad for profit tho
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC price speculation on: August 01, 2016, 08:48:52 AM

412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Someone please make a steem clone on: August 01, 2016, 08:34:27 AM
the problem with clones was that most of the times clones was ready to scam , now days some original coins scaming instantly and you have nothing to wait from a clone , well expect some hype!
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who will deploy Augur Classic on ETC? on: August 01, 2016, 08:24:22 AM
a few core members of eth are moving to etc, so i think it will be okay.
Any proofs?

guys you dont have any concern about the stolen coins? i mean what if they dumped when the price rise (IF) its gonna be a win win, no chance to dumped at low price, because this will be a jail free for ETC
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Pump & Dump Scam on: August 01, 2016, 07:44:26 AM
PnD scam or not , just benefit from the waves and make some profit !  ETH forked in flavor of the investors, ETC flavors the thief..
do your part and move on ! Smiley trade!!!!
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] OPAIR | Unmoderated thread on: August 01, 2016, 07:05:45 AM
Anyone else notice all the 'supporters' on this thread have the exact same broken english as the 'dev'?

No surprise there.  So many people using multiple accounts in ANN threads, and many times it is easy to tell - they don't even try to speak differently (low intelligence?).  Meanwhile I'm sitting here NOT creating scamcoins...I'm in the wrong line of work it seems  Roll Eyes

You are annoyed by scams and yet you have yobits signature. Mother of all altcoins shit and preemptive agent of growing, potential ICOs.

What's wrong with the signature? Since it pays it's fine ! I don't care what they do and list in their platform!
Anyhow once more from what I'm reading feel sorry about the people who have invested on that opair shitty project, and even it is real there will be always a chance to buy from a dip and make your plays!!
416  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Rent An Antminer S9, S7, or Avalon 6 Starting At $49/month on: August 01, 2016, 06:51:30 AM

417  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: July 31, 2016, 07:53:27 PM
I'm curious to see some pictures of those mining rigs.  Share your pictures of your rig and then details of build and mhash/sec.  Let's get a frame of reference up here with some visuals.

I'm a gamer so this is an older gaming rig (2+ years old now)

A single 4890 that produces 100 mhash.  Bitcoin mining will help me justify putting together a tri or quad video card setup relatively soon.

That first msg on the thread back from 2011 and this forum member is still jr rank I'm wondering what happened to him and stayed jr he left the Btc shipp to early ? That will be sad..
Anyhow I love to watch mining rigs ! It reminds me back then when I was mining.. sigh..!!
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] OPAIR | Unmoderated thread on: July 31, 2016, 07:01:09 PM
He said another thing, read again: "What the hell do not understand? They use escrow OR NOT will not change anything. If they were scammers as you say, they simply launch a basic wallet and escrow will release the funds."
lol i guess you dont know what Escrow is. They cannot just launch a basic wallet and Escrow release their funds like that because they never stated a basic wallet in their thread and OP.
Escrow will need to see a working product from what they are working on prior launching the ICO. I did not invest because of a basic wallet.

Ok, you're more noob than you look. I'm going to explain you. They promised many features to his project (like ALL of the project on the forum). For this they need the ICO funds. So, all these features will take a while to get officially launching. The escrow only will checks if the creators of the project make correctly the distribution of the coins to investors. Once it is ready, the funds are released so that developers can work/hire people/marketing/etc.

True that about the ico escrow but.. we have seen ico investors got scammed and the projet never go live, and for real if the project is promising to be super awesome they can find some whales to support them, and ofc support their project till double triple his price, it all about faith to your own project, then profit for all , right?? Asking for funds around in crypto land with that shitload of scams around... and saying no escrow , no interview from the devs ,no info around them..
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another closed door Core - Chinese miners meeting on: July 31, 2016, 06:05:22 PM
Big players meeting and ofc info shared with whales the big ones.. or maybe no whales on their group but whales start playing a little and try to spread\create FUD ? It's not going to be the first time ..
Anyhow I wonder also about their agenda .. increase the fee for miners support?? For future halving... lol
Anyhow let the big miners go and let's fire up our  red fury s again!! It's gonna be my pleasure to support Btc network again !😉
