the Number of Masternodes is steadily increasing, now with 24 MN.

Thats a good thing.
Can someone tell me how much SLING daily they produce with their masternodes?

A LOT! Wink it's like gold digging Wink

Can you be a bit more specific ?

It depends on network weight and how many nodes you run,  plus the luck factor.
One can only make rough estimates given that initial data.

Silly question but i need to know.
Do i need VPS (i would use windows VPS) to run masternode? or can i run on my home computer?
Can someone clarified this?

You can run one on your home computer, but keep in mind you'll have to leave it running.
Unless you normally shut your computer off or something-- then obviously the node will go down.

Some people need products from a new era of silk/slingroad.. maybe products that would help bring peace LOL

I wonder if people like Bob ever get high,  I can't imagine they do if they're only about money.

It will be interesting to see how long twitter allows their scam to go on.

Companies are just going to let them come in with some spam virus coin ?  Yeah.. right.

 Roll Eyes

Translation:  Bob needs fish to help pump his virus coin.

LOL, this coming from a punk who stole 6 btc from a Hero member!

What's that rocoro? Sorry I cant hear you over that redtag you have under your name!

I have no idea what you're talking about,  I've never had 6 btc total, ever.

Why don't you go back to your spam king Gooberez or whatever the creep's name is.

rocoro, do you have a linux GUI build with i2p included on it?
I could really use it

Yes, there is one compiled from the Dev himself:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1032166.msg11356317#msg11356317

That one should have i2p,  I haven't tried it though... I'm still waiting to compile one from source  Undecided

Ps. I added your addnode to the I2P guide (link in my sig) I posted, I hope that's ok.

408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SLING | Masternodes | I2P | Android | Encrypted Messaging | SLINGROAD LIVE on: May 17, 2015, 05:52:37 PM
Got the wallet hooked up on two VPSs with i2p. They didn't find each other at first so I had to:

If you want to add the first one, bEcE0guQX.... to the OP so people to connect that'd be cool.

So you got yours working with i2p ?   what was the problem before?

Some info on escrow from a similar two-party system,
correct me if I'm wrong but Sling should work very similar.

Quote
Escrow Lock
When the seller approves the purchase, the seller's client constructs the first part of the escrow lock transaction which contains their security deposit and sends this to the buyer's client. The buyer's client then adds their own Sling inputs for payment and the buyer's deposit, signs the transaction and sends it to the seller to sign and broadcast the completed transaction to the Sling network.

Neither party's funds are locked (unavailable for spending) until the transaction is submitted to the Sling network. If either party fails to complete the escrow message exchange or submit the completed escrow to the Sling network, either can cancel the escrow by sending their own Sling inputs for the transaction to another address they own. Cancellation is only possible if the completed escrow transaction has not been sent to the Sling network first.

Delivery
Once escrow lock is complete, the buyer's client prompts them for delivery details for the order. These are then sent to the seller for delivery.

Escrow Release
Upon receiving delivery of satisfactory good/service, if the buyer chooses to initiate payment, their client constructs a transaction which releases the deposits to their respective parties and sends the payment to the seller in a similar process to how the escrow was locked.

If the buyer does not receive the good/service or finds them unsatisfactory, they can request a refund from the seller. The refund request constructs a transaction which sends the deposits to their respective parties but returns the payment to the buyer. If the seller approves the refund, the transaction is completed in a similar process to how the escrow was locked.

Choice of Two Party Escrow
To appreciate the value of the two party escrow system and why it is so important for secure, private and middle men free exchange, it is worth considering problems with the traditional approach of using a 3rd party escrow agent.

In a third party escrow system the buyer and seller ask a third trusted party (an escrow agent) to receive payment from the buyer before the item is delivered and to then release the payment to the seller after the item is delivered. If there is a dispute about the quality of the item or whether it was delivered, the third party acts as a mediator and decides whether to send the payment or refund the buyer. Some of the problems with this model include:

  •    Unless escrow agent receives the item before forwarding it to the buyer and has the expertise to verify the quality of the item, they have no means of fairly mediating a dispute. This problem becomes much worse when services are being exchanged. Proof of package delivery doesn't verify what was delivered or it's quality and photos from the buyer could be of another item, etc.
  •    Credit cards and centralized marketplaces seem like existence proofs of working escrow agents but they are non-anonymous, do not resolve disputes fairly (as most small merchants can tell you) and are known to break in markets with high fraud potential (e.g. third world countries, porn, etc).
  •    Untrustworthy escrow agents who may steal escrow, fail to release escrow or collude with (or be) one of the parties.
  •    Escrow agents with strong reputation may be doing a long con to take off with or extort a large payment or group of payments.
  •    Escrow agent expenses in the form of labor and risk are passed on to the buyer and seller.
  •    Finding a trustworthy agent requires a reputation system and building reputation systems in anonymous networks remains an unsolved problem.

Fortunately, two party escrow made possible by Sling's multi-signature transactions can solve all of these problems.

I'll try to lend a hand too,  in helping people and writing more guides if needed.

Still wish I could soon have a look at sourcecode,  compile the qt, and start testing things..
but I can wait,  I've learned anything worthwhile you usually have to wait for Smiley

Could you update the Android wallet link? Current link is down.

Done.

I'm so glad for this !  Maybe people finally realize we don't need tons of this crap.

All we need is one coin which brings together what made btc famous to begin with, and in a better way!

413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lies Bagholders Tell Themselves. on: May 16, 2015, 01:39:44 PM
Its like statements like "good things come to those who wait"  or "he who waits, loses" ?

My point being, I don't understand exactly what bagholding is meant to be.

bagholding or dollar cost average accumulation?

414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People should BAN F**kin P&D Groups just like Ryan PUMPER and Bobsurplus on: May 16, 2015, 12:48:43 PM
I don't think they're really "scamming"  ..  its more of they don't believe in new, emerging technologies and investing.

They're just out for the quick buck and to a degree they help some coins by giving them visibility with volume on the market.

Its sad, but somewhat of a necessary evil, in just my opinion.

Im with ya rocoro. Just would like to know if my issue is because no one else is on i2p or something else. I think it would be great to be able to move solely to i2p

It could be because of few i2p users right now.
I'll know more once I can get up and running

I'm assuming you checked firewall settings and you're forwarding necessary ports?

416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SLING | Masternodes | I2P | Android | Encrypted Messaging | SLINGROAD LIVE on: May 16, 2015, 02:19:03 AM
The more people that can get masternodes going, and possibly on I2P the better..
To help strengthen the network.

I plan; once I can build a linux-qt (I like building from source) then using I2P and clearnet, till more I2P connections show up, then go pure I2P

And with price going down, should be easier for people to get into masternodes.

417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SLING | Masternodes | I2P | Android | Encrypted Messaging | SLINGROAD LIVE on: May 15, 2015, 10:47:25 PM

Followed the instructions. Just like crave I'm having the same issue.   my i2p tunnels are showing what i renamed Sling-Client with 3 in and 4 out connections even with a few KB of traffic.
The sling client however does not show it being connected and won't update. I show "wallet is running with a random generated i2p-address" but nothing more.
If i shut down i2p and try and open sling with i2p only enabled it get a listen=0 error. Turn i2p back on, open the wallet and it opens fully but with no connections.

Not quite sure whats going on here.

I assumed this would be as easy as running Nachtblitz on i2p and it probably is. I might be missing something. Would like to know if anyone else was able to connect with i2p

Hmm.. what if you try listen=1 in the .conf file or -listen=1 in command line?

Also:
Please note that it will take several minutes to make connections to the I2P network when starting I2P for the first time.

Or make sure, like in my guide...  click the actual quote link that goes to DGSlayer's post and download from there.

My links should be good, but you never know if someone else can change them or something..

ALWAYS go to original post in the quote link and make sure its the dev's username.

I'll update my guide to say that.

Edit: There I just left the quote links that go to the dev's posts in my guide, so nothing can be changed.

Anyway here is I2P instructions:

Quote
Setting up your client to use I2P

Your traffic will be open for anyone to inspect if you run the SLING client over clearnet. If you would like to hide the fact that you are using SLING, as well as the physical location from where your SLING traffic originates, you should set up your wallet to connect only to the I2P darknet.

To do this, download and install the I2P router(see below). After starting the router, you will need to enable the SAM application bridge. In the I2P web interface (http://127.0.0.1:7657/configclients), click on the box to automatically run the application bridge at startup, and then click on "start". By default, the SAM application bridge listens to 127.0.0.1 on port 7656. If you need to change this behavior, this can be done in one of three ways:

  •    From the preferences menu in the SLING graphical interface, click on I2P, and then modify the IP number and port for the SAM application bridge. For the changes to take effect, restart the application.
  •    Edit the variable clientApp.1.args in the file clients.config that is located in your local I2P folder and then restart I2P.
  •    From the command line, start the SLING daemon (usually named slingd) by specifying the following options: -samhost=<ip or host name> and -samport=<port>. For more options, use the command slingd --help.

Once this is done, start the SLING client, open the application preferences, click on the I2P menu, and then click on the button "use I2P only". Close the application and relaunch it. At this point, all your traffic will be encrypted and pass through the I2P network.

Please note that it will take several minutes to make connections to the I2P network when starting I2P for the first time.

Where to download I2P

The official I2P release can be downloaded here: https://geti2p.net/en/download.

The Abscond bundle is an easy to install software package with all you need to connect to I2P and let you use the most common features. It can be downloaded here: https://hideme.today/dev/.

Here is an addnode to help you connect, thanks to DiCE1904:
