401  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dangerous to invest in new Altcoins? on: March 09, 2014, 09:21:09 AM
Yep, investing in any altcoin with limited or zero innovation is dangerous.

But investing in cryptocurrency with great innovation, such as Bitcoin, does not make you feel very safe either.

So always remember the investment golden rule:

"If you don’t fully understand it, don’t invest."  Wink
402  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price at end of 2014? on: March 09, 2014, 08:52:06 AM
I guess I'll be more than happy if bitcoin price can just stay at the current level (above $600) at the end of 2014.  Cheesy

And don't crash again please.

404  Economy / Economics / Re: What are your thoughts on Japan? on: March 08, 2014, 06:20:09 AM
Japanese government needs to do something very quick. Now the public image of Japan is no good, firstly the collapse of MtGox, and more recently the 'fake' Satoshi Nakamoto.

No more bad news please.
405  Economy / Economics / Re: Who owns and controls the Federal Reserve? on: March 08, 2014, 06:07:40 AM
People should start to wake-up to the fact that Fed policy 100% effects the USD price of Bitcoin. And due to that, effects the exchange rate from Bitcoin to all other domestic currencies.

What do you think would happen if the Fed expands QE-to-infinity? I'd bet Bitcoin's price to USD would sky-rocket.

I hope so but I'm afraid it is not going to happen anytime soon.

Investors will put most of their money into other traditional currencies instead of Bitcoin, even though the Fed really expands QE-to-infinity one day.

The basic fact is that most people still trust traditional currencies far more than Bitcoin.

406  Other / Meta / Re: The last posting from your IP was less than 20 seconds ago. Please try again lat on: March 08, 2014, 05:14:22 AM
I have made no posts today and got the message

Quote
The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later.

i also couldn't search as it told me i had to wait, and yet i had literally just logged in..

Cache issue perhaps server side?

That's normal and nothing wrong with server or cache.

Logging in itself also resets the clock, even though it's not actually your 'last posting'.

You better read post #32 here again if you still have question.

407  Economy / Services / Re: Seeking for content manager for crypto-currencies blog on: March 07, 2014, 04:36:45 AM
Pardon me, you want just a writer, or a Manager to manage multiple writers?

And how well-paid it can be?!

Please make it more clear.

Thank you.

408  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: cgminer-nogpu.exe is not doing anything (I'm a noob) on: March 06, 2014, 03:53:23 PM
Firstly, install OpenCL driver for your GPU.

Then use cudaminer instead of cgminer for Nvidia.

Don't mine dogecoin as it's too difficult for your GPU, try other altcoins with lower difficulty.

You'll then at least get some shares. Enjoy!

409  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: bitvisitor scam? on: March 06, 2014, 01:35:17 PM
Aha, I just remembered. There is actually a problem where you click "next" and the next site doesn't show the added balance from the previous one. What you have to do then is to not close the previous tab, and click next once again. It's a known issue.

Yes I can also remember this annoying bug.

I also remember sometimes even I clicked once again on previous tab the balance was still not added.

BTW, anyone tried its referral system? Does it work or just a "scam"?

The referral system does seem to work, but payouts per offer are so low at the minute that it's hardly worth the bother.

Good, thanks for letting me know that the referral system does work.

Yes payouts are indeed low. I don't expect to earn much from this site anyway. I just enjoy seeing some more btc everytime when I login my wallet.   Wink

411  Other / Politics & Society / Re: senator-calls-for-bitcoin-ban-2014 on: March 06, 2014, 03:09:22 AM
That's not a good news anyway.

Imagine if the US really bans bitcoin one day, bitcoin price must fall sharply.

And probably less people will visit this forum as well.

412  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Greetings! on: March 05, 2014, 04:23:04 PM
let's make this the unofficial official newbie thread

There are too many unofficial official newbie thread to make this one another one Tongue

I will suggest to create a totally-new section for newbies then  Cheesy
I guess there is already one section dedicated to beginners , or you are asking for something else..?

Yes I do suggest a separate child board for newbies to say hello, welcome etc. Maybe moderators can also impose some rules there to prevent scams.

If you're talking about a new child board under the current "Beginners & Help" section, I think it is something that can be considered and discussed.

Currently the size of this "Beginners & Help" section is getting big. Now it has over 453K posts but there's no child board inside it.
413  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Activity on: March 05, 2014, 03:47:32 AM
You don't need to wait 14 days to get your initial 14 activity.

For the same reason, no need to wait 14 days for your last 14 activity either.

So for 109 activity, you can possibly do it within 90 days actually Smiley

414  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Faucet Bitcoin St safe? on: March 05, 2014, 02:47:59 AM
Never give your phone number to any stranger. That's the golden rule.

And this site doesn't clearly state how it will use your phone number. That means it can virtually do anything you may not imagine.

So please just avoid using it, that's all.

419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russians and Ukrainians should save their money in Bitcoins and Namecoins on: March 04, 2014, 02:25:11 PM
If they have a real war their electricity and internet will go down. In such event bitcoin is worthless, instead  canned foods, fresh water, weapons/ammo and gold/silver will become the money.

Sure! No one will really care about bitcoin or any altcoin if there is a war
