401  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Paypal for trading yes/no? on: July 06, 2011, 06:39:36 AM
So far I have had no issues selling bitcoin on EBAY using paypal and have made much higher money on ebay with bitcoin then the market asks for.  If it is an ebayer with good feedback, been a user for awhile, usually no problems, list a paperclip, you can show tracking and delivery, and or print screen on the send, print screen on receiving address and have all that communication in email with the buyer to show that it is his address and he is accepting them, then shouldnt have too much of an issue.

is ebay accept to sell a bitcoin? as we know to pay with paypal for a bitcoin is against their terms. then how they are agree to sell in ebay?
402  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Paypal for trading yes/no? on: July 05, 2011, 07:18:19 AM
3) Paypal freezes your account.

This is the only one true reason why do not trade BTC with PP.

It is against their rule to exchange e-currency with PP. So if:

1) The buyer files credit card chargeback. - this not will work if you can prove that you send the goods that you sell.
                                                         - chargeback is not so easy to prove. If seller can prove that he send you the goods then you cannot make a charge back and you will lose a fees to your bank for a false try of chargeback.

2) The buyer files dispute. - same reason as point 1.

Yes buyer can fire a dispute BUT... what he will say?
1) His account is hacked? - he have a responsibility on his account to keep save the login details.
                                   - he need to prove that his account it hacked before a few hours when this transaction is made and now when he fire a dispute it is a recovered from the hacker?!?!?!
                                   - if his account is hacked then why not all money is dissapear from it? Why only this transaction is made?

2) He can claim that not receive the goods - hmmm... what goods exactly? he not have a right to buy a e-currency.
                                                          - if you can prove contrary you will win the dispute.
                                                          - Of course if you prove that you send a e-currency for paypal then your account will be freeze. You break their Terms. So you cannot give them a prove and you will lose the dispute.

I akt as a seller and buyer in ebay and use only paypal. I lost few disputes whey I buy and no one... yet whey I sell.
So please stop with this speculations how save is PP for buyer and how awful is for sellers.

If seller can prove that he send the goods to you then he win the dispute. If you cannot prove ( when/if need ) don't sell.

I'd be willing to do it, but what guarantee do I have that you will actually have the money and pay for them in December?

both side need to pay some deposit who will lost if one of the side is not correct
406  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'd like to buy 150bTc for 44$ each... on: July 04, 2011, 04:32:18 PM
if the contract is to buy 150BTC for 44$ each to December what is the difference and who care if this 150BTC is buy now, produce for 6 month or buy in December?

The idea is the buyer to get his 150BTC on 44$ each. Right?

I not will care from where seller will have 150BTC to give me ( if i am the buyer ). I not will care if he buy them now on 15$, produce it in the next 6 month or buy in December. If the seller cannot supply the 150BTC then he need to buy them on the price in December of course.

I only ask how is the system. I am not a stock exchange trader.
407  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'd like to buy 150bTc for 44$ each... on: July 04, 2011, 02:49:24 PM
if he find someone to buy it of course.

who will buy the contract on price 44$ when it is 150$ in the moment and will lose a money?
The contract is traded on market prices. There's always a market. That's how it works.

the contract is to supply xxx goods and receive a yyy money. nobody care how it will supply it. If it will buy or produce the goods it is choose on supplier
408  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'd like to buy 150bTc for 44$ each... on: July 04, 2011, 04:10:23 AM
He can sell the contract in September (or any other month) as well. If Bitcoins were $150 in September, he could sell the contract to someone else at a profit.

if he find someone to buy it of course.

who will buy the contract on price 44$ when it is 150$ in the moment and will lose a money?

but if someone thinks that bitcoin gonna be worth 44++++ in december, why not buy now at 16? What do they gain by waiting until december? Even if it was gonna be 60-70 by then, still better to buy now.

I will answer you why.
Why you will make a deal to buy in December and not now:
1. You make a deal now and now will keep a money in bitcoin until December. So you can use your money in the next 6 month. If you buy now and wait to sell then in December this is a 6 month where you not will use your money.

Why someone will agree to supply you with a bitcoin in December:
1. Yes the person that will sell the bitcoin in December can buy them now but this mean that he now will use his money for other thing 6 month. If he have a money that can invest now it have this option.
2. Second reason why someone can make a deal to see in December on a fixed price is that he is a happy from the price, he will know for what will work in the next 6 month, will know how many profit will make.

Only advantage is if they don't have any money now but will be getting a lot more later, correct me if I'm wrong.

The advantage? For who? What is the advantage for you if seller lost a money? The idea is not to make a seller to suffer when he sell you on 44 but price is more than 44.

The idea is you to be save:
1. you to not keep a money 6 month.
2. you will be save from some system crash and steal in this 6 month when you not invest in bitcoin.

Saykor

So, you're not actually ready to do this contract.  Otherwise I would consider it (nominal physical delivery of BTC in December and I assume you mean payment in December as well)

Futures agreement is a still very interesting for me. But... what is my guarantee that if the price drop in December the other side will still pay me?

as striker11111111 say "This kind of thing requires a lot of trust."
412  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Help wanted for New BTC exchange site on: July 03, 2011, 09:02:23 PM
is there any reason it couldn't be automatic?

YES. Hakers will use your automated system to steal your money.
413  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'd like to buy 150bTc for 44$ each... on: July 03, 2011, 08:54:13 PM
It's a futures agreement where you would agree to sell them to someone for $44 in the future, in this case December.  Their hopes are that by December bitcoins will be worth more than $44 and therefore they will make a profit.  Your hope is that they won't be $44 and that you will be making a profit.

yes you are right. what was the name of my type of deal that i told above?
414  Economy / Economics / Re: I want my bitcoins generate more bitcoins. We need a bank. on: July 03, 2011, 07:52:37 PM
Lets say this...
TheSpanishGuy can you give me a loan of 1000BTC I will return you a 1200BTC for 1 year.

When the year end... how you will catch me to return your money?
1. my business can fail.
2. i can be a bad man that just not want to pay you.
3. many more options.

So how you as a bank is a save? How you will return your investment? A collection firm from US will go to Namibia ( for example ) to collect the loan?

Of course you understand that all this is a just example to explain you why I just not see how the system can work.
415  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'd like to buy 150bTc for 44$ each... on: July 03, 2011, 07:36:19 PM
If I am not in mistake... the future deal is this: you pay now for anything that will receive after few month. Usual this kind of deals is a good for both side.

I can use the money to make a new system now and mine more BTC, keep save for you to give you in December where you can sell it more than 44$ and make more profit. We both can win in this deal.

So if you pay me now 150BTC for 44$ each I agree to give you 150BTC in December.

Saykor

Everyone can host a program on Webspace from his University. This is not a guarantee for trust.

Anyway good job and good luck but personally i not will use your program to pay to you a fee when i can make a transactions directly from their website. Other question is that I will ever use a MTGox. They have a too many hacks in last month.

Use Cat 11.7 preview!

Dia

The ATI 110619a-121104E file doesn't include a "11.7" video driver. It does have a new AMD APP SDK, version 2.5.684.24. The package also installs drivers for ATI TV Wonder 600 USB and Hydravision (WTF?), so if you want to try out the new SDK, be sure to do a custom install and uncheck the other stuff.

That being said, the new SDK makes no difference. I've ran 10.11 and 11.6 drivers on 2.4 and 2.5 SDK with identical benchmarks on all in a very repeatable setup. However your patch does make a difference! The improvement on my overclocked 5830 (1070/392, WinXPsp3 stripped, Sempron 2.7ghz):

Before: 340.21 Mhash/s
After: 341.59 Mhash/s
Improvement: 0.41%

I haven't run it long enough to see if it increases rejects or stales, but I will report back. This is looking good (but it will take a week of mining with the patch to even make up for my 30 minutes downtime...)

What is your setting? How you make 340 with 5830? i am on 307max with same cards.
You know from where to download the "11.7" video driver?

Thanks for your help
