401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XEL] Elastic Project - The Decentralized Supercomputer on: April 06, 2016, 11:40:58 AM
But again, a question to the community: do you like detailed "staking" information or does it confuse you too much?

I like the detailed staking screen.  And the fact it's on a separate tab a user only needs to look at it if they are interested.

Signed up for newsletter.  Seems like there is quite a bit of interest in Waves already.

I've gone ahead and chipped in a little BTC.  Very ambitious project, so who knows if it can be achieved, but if no one tries we'll never know  Smiley

Smooth, I agree.  I was just saying that the argument that they are using doesn't make sense.

You're completely ignoring John's post...

All that post says is that it's okay to steal the code because bitcoin stole the code.  Undecided

Did you unlock it? I'm staking with no problems, but with a bigger amount.

Thanks LovSan.  Wallet is unlocked, just guess I either need more coins or more time in wallet.

Just updated.  I'm still trying to understand the POS.  Is it like the traditional POS (like PPC where your balance + time in wallet is used)?  I've had a 1000 VNL in my wallet for 2 days without any staking.

Just trying to understand this coin and any help is appreciated.

How does staking work?  Is there something I need to configure in the wallet, or if it's open is it staking?

I finally got around to checking Poloniex and my Txn made it there, so it looks like its working fine now (maybe just a bit slow).

Unfortunately, based on the update for Poloniex I attempted to send some XCR there, but it never made it.  Looks like their wallet is still not working.

Node has finally announced their "new mechanism for a secured an equitable forging process". It's called Proof of Activity (PoA) and is a combination of node up-time and purchase activity. Sound familiar? That's because it is. We designed it and released a whitepaper about it 4 months ago.

I think you are probably correct here.  I have been following the Node thread and they have even admitted that they haven't been able to implemented PoA yet...for now, they are just using random assignments to forgers.  So clearly, it's not something that they have tried and tested; they are probably still trying to figure out how Crypti is doing it ;-)
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: August 29, 2014, 09:23:07 PM
He just wants OS so he can clone the coin.  He's doing the exact same thing over at Crypti.  His motives are obvious to most of us.

Here's a couple more for the slogan contest.

Node - Global payments made easy
Node - A currency for tomorrow
Node - A new way to to pay
Node - Let's do business

Wow, these Qora transactions are fast.  I've made 2 withdrawals from Poloniex now and both of them appeared in my wallet within seconds.  I'm impressed  Grin

You've got 10'000 less chances to find a block with 30K coins compared to someone with 300M coins.

Think of it like a minig equipment. Currently you've got a miner that costs $9.

That's fair.  I just didn't see that documented anywhere.  There are other coins I've participated in that didn't require such large holding to generate a block.

[NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread

Just an fyi...one reason I stayed away from Nem was the "No Envy Movement".  Maybe that is just me, but that just sounds a little pretentious.

I really like what the devs are doing with this coin, but that phrase seems a little off.

NEM Official Thread {Updates & Discussion}
Is OK I think.

I agree.  I'm new to NEM and I don't think spelling it out is necessary.  I think everyone has seen the acronym NEM.
