401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 06, 2023, 09:50:20 PM
It is 1-1 draw. Both teams are of the same category as there was so many mistake and opportunities that were not converted into a goal. It is good that the game is on draw because any club that don't take the match serious will lose to the opposite side. I think that this match will end in a draw from my own observation, this is because Chelsea and Manchester united are playing the same pattern of football and both of them are not that strong this season.

I don’t think it would end in a 1:1 draw. Any side could score a goal at any moment as there is still enough time for both sides to do just that. At the moment, Manchester United seems to be the side that is actively working to score another goal and be ahead in the game. They’ve had more of the ball in their possession and have been trying to create chances for another goal. Chances that have sadly not yet produced the outcome they would have wanted.
Chelsea’s goalie, Sanchez has been up and doing and has saved his side from conceding more goals. I believe United could still score another goal.
402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 06, 2023, 09:04:11 PM
At Old Trafford, Manchester United has a great opportunity to score the first goal. Bruno Fernandes just missed the penalty. I thought the game was over for Chelsea when the penalty was awarded, but McTominay scored again to put Manchester United ahead. Given that the game is still in its first half and Chelsea can still score at any time, Manchester United needs to play more defensively. They are have a great start against Chelsea. My only concern is that this one doesn't end the same way as their previous games. I don't want the match to go that way after winning the first half and end up drawing or losing,is either they should start losing from the first half.

It’s almost the half time mark and Manchester United have lost the slim lead over their opponents as Chelsea have managed to score a goal and equalize the scores. At this point, I bet Chelsea can’t wait till the half time after being under constant pressure from United. But it also seems they’ve woken up and beginning to play better minutes before the half time.
Man United on the other hand, has not been playing so bad. But if they had been better, the opportunities they had let go to waste would have been made to better use.
I think Manchester United has a somewhat weak midfield in this game.
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 06, 2023, 08:28:07 PM
Seriously, the match will be an interesting one, but the match will be kind of difficult to predict from the way the two clubs have not really been consistent. I am not expecting a draw from the match, am expecting a win from one team, the match will be a difficult one for the two clubs, but let's see if Chelsea will be able to win the match. Chelsea have not been consistent, but I still see Chelsea as a better team than Manchester United. The match has just started, so let's see how the two clubs will perform in the first half of the match.

So far, Manchester United seems to be the team that’s pressing ahead in hopes for a goal. They’ve had a good start and some good chances as well to score goals. If they keep at it and don’t relent on the pressure, they’re sure to score and I think a goal isn’t far ahead.
Manchester United had been given a penalty and was saved by Chelsea’s goalie, Sanchez. This was United’s first good chance of scoring a goal and coming in front in this game and with Bruno Fernandes missing the penalty kick, they’ve thrown the chance away.

I couldn't have imagined that Arsenal would win the game in such a dramatic way at the last minute. Luton Town were level until 96 minutes but Declan Rice's last minute goal in the 97th minute sealed Arsenal's victory.
If I didn't bet before 90 minutes in that match but after 90 minutes I bet $20 on draw mention and lost it all. I lost a $20 bet on a last minute goal. I'm sorry I lost the bet but Arsenal scored a very enjoyable goal in the last minute of today's game.

I did think so and thought Arsenal still had a fighting chance as long as there was still some time left to play. And fight, they did and got themselves the winning goal that helped seal the deal in their win.
On the other hand, I definitely couldn’t have imagined Luton Town would put up a fight as they did in that game. I couldn’t believe they could score three goals against Arsenal as they did and almost held Arsenal to a draw in that game. It was an incredible performance from both sides. But Arsenal had the final say with their late goal that gave them the win.
405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: December 05, 2023, 10:41:31 PM

In addition to this, gambling also give hope to those who might have been hopeless because of poverty. Through gambling, they somehow hope that one day they will win and change their situation.

Gambling indeed have many positive impacts on the society.

Gambling giving hope to people playing and staking bets in hopes of a big win someday is not an advantage in any way and certainly not impacting positively in any way to the society. Having hopes of winning a life changing amount due to gambling is more like a dream.
Gambling may have some positive impacts as it’s considered a recreational activity by many. But it’s negative effects apparently visible in irresponsible people in the society has by a large margin, overshadowed any positive effects it may have ever had.
406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: December 04, 2023, 08:44:31 PM
If one lend money to a gambler that means the lender too is also gambling because there are always a possibility that the gambler might lose or win but if the gambler win, with the joy in him or her, they might give you back the money or even add extra to it, but just imagine if the gambler lose the money you lend to him or her.
As there is no sure odds in gamble, I don't think a gambler can always.

You can say a lender giving out loans to people without demanding anything as collateral is gambling with his funds as well. But it’s a gamble that the lender is willing to take. Having already known the lender and his capabilities, the lender might have (non ethical) ways of getting his money back from people that might default on their payments.
While I don’t think any reputable financial institution or any sane person would give away loans for the purpose of gambling, there are always people who would still give loans for such purposes.
407  Economy / Economics / Re: Being rich = not looking at price tag on: December 04, 2023, 07:37:48 PM
these have lots of meanings, when you have less money you can't do a lot of things since you have to think of the rent and bills every month, what they really mean is that when you are earning enough you don't have to think twice on taking things unlike when you have less.
Rich people really think everything before they spend, because they don't wan't to make mistake that will cost them their fortune.

A lot of relies on this thread seems to tell me people actually think that rich folks do not bother with looking at the piece tag before making a purchase. If they make all purchases without wanting to know the prices, then a good portion of the chunk of their wealth would go towards purchases.
People actually working for their money would have a hard time making wild purchases without caring/giving much thought about the price of such goods. Earning more, you likely don’t have to worry about the price of some goods breaking your budget. That doesn’t mean you won’t know the price.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: December 03, 2023, 11:59:15 PM
It's not new seeing this, because I'm the recent past I have seen people turn out victims of what they usually advised people against probably because bat some point they were constrained and could no longer stay disciplined well enough to adhere to the advise they even give out.

Borrowing to gamble is definitely not something any One should consider at any point, this is because of the too many uncertainties attached to gambling, you almost can't tell when you are going to turn out lucky with the casino and if it turns out you aren't Lucky especially when you stakes the money you borrowed it becomes a problem for you because you will have to pay back your loan regardless of the circumstances that befell you.

Some people are also hypocritical and are quick to give advise that likely wasn’t asked for or wanted. It’s very easy to give out advice but a little difficult to follow our own advice ourselves. And people are guilty of doing this. Also, like you noted, some people let the urge for their gambling habit get the better of them and they go borrowing to gamble in hopes of winning some more money.

That’s how loans work. An individual takes out a loan from wherever. Gambles with it and loses. He has lost out in his bets and now, he has a debt hanging over his head. The lender only cares about getting his money.
409  Economy / Economics / Re: Goverments must have good plan very soon on: December 03, 2023, 08:59:47 PM
But goverments should have some plan i wait airdrop of money for each people AT least 2000-3000$ without working ubi income

Things may have gotten worse for a lot of people especially after the lockdowns following the pandemic where people were forced to stay home and some governments helped their citizens with some money to live on since most people were forced to stay home.
It would seem some people got so used to receiving checks from the government and got less interested in working for them anymore. If the plan you want the government to implement involves giving citizens two to three thousand bucks, then that plan is flawed from the start.
We should all strive to be more responsible for ourselves and less dependent on the government and it’s bailouts.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Its A Gambling Joke But Reflects Bad Things About Gambling on: December 03, 2023, 07:10:09 PM
Indeed, it is a downgrade. But compare it with other gamblers who have lost everything they own and can't buy anything. Meanwhile, he can still buy a bicycle, a new bicycle. That means he's still lucky.

Buying a new bicycle for work is still better than walking to work. That means he's still lucky.

That's the explanation, mate.

Grin

He’s definitely not lucky. He had a car, sold it cause of financial issues due to gambling and now is the proud owner of a bicycle. Would you count yourself lucky after selling your vehicle and getting a bicycle just cause they’ve been other cases where other individuals can’t even afford to get a bicycle?
There is no basis for comparison here. If we’re comparing here, how about other gamblers who have managed to win for themselves enough money to get luxury cars and private yachts? Would you still say the guy who sold his vehicle and bought himself a bicycle is lucky?
411  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New here and wants to make some money on: December 01, 2023, 03:27:46 PM
Hello everyone,

I'm totally new and I don't have a steady source of income so I'm looking for some help, nice to meet you all 😊

Not beating around the bush eh. At least you’re being honest and straightforward about why you’re here. It’s obvious you’re totally new here(your account is) and it’s nice to meet you as well.
I think you should be more specific about the help you say you’re looking for on your quest for a steady income. I read a previous reply on the thread listing some sites that links employers looking to hire people with certain skills. If by help, you mean handouts, you’re in the wrong place. Welcome once again to bitcointalk. A place where we majorly talk about bitcoin.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Crowdfund for a Gambler Who Has Gambled Irresponsibly? on: December 01, 2023, 02:34:56 PM
I don't think they will play gambling immediately right after they get the money but they will first use those on the important things. And maybe they can even change after this because they are too ashamed of their selves and they are doing this as another way of saying thanks.

Yes, there are always people who are too soft and are willing to help the person who are in need of help. Maybe some of them are also an addict before. They know how hard it is to become one. Still, I don't think crowdfunding is the right word to be used here but it's more like a donation already, since we can't get something in return such as a token, same as what we have here in the crypto world.

I’m curious. Why does donation seem right and not crowdfunding to you, when they mean more or less the same thing. Crowdfunding is self explanatory. Asking/begging money from a bunch of people you don’t know and will probably never meet over the internet. And in this scenario, crowdfunding seems to be the right word.

More likely than not, an irresponsible gambler having burnt through whatever money and savings he had on gambling, would equally after being helped out by strangers and friends, would begin to repeat the process that got him broke all over again.
413  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 01, 2023, 12:34:06 PM
Knowing the right choice to make for whatever investment you’ve decided upon could easily fall under your investment plan. Don’t you think so? In the process of making a viable investment plan, you would have options available and would have to shuffle through those available options to determine the best way forward.
It’s also worth noting like you did about the need to diversify on your portfolio investments. It is never a good idea to have all your eyes in one basket. With cryptocurrencies, it’s best to stick with what you have an understanding about and staying clear of alt coins with no viable future.

It is better to win small and lose less than lose more and win less

I don’t really understand what you meant here. But how about winning big?
414  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture vs oil on: December 01, 2023, 10:31:13 AM
What's the point of the US becoming a member of OPEC ? They're essentially competitors of the US. Therefore, the U.S. plays its own game - its own production, plus most likely there will be oil from Venezuela, plus the U.S. has the opportunity to settle oil production issues with Saudi Arabia. And this is enough to stabilize or even manipulate the oil market. And joining OPEC is unnecessary restrictions and obligations, especially in this "alliance", there are frankly specific countries that, to put it mildly, hate the United States. Therefore, if the U.S. joins any oil union, it will be a U.S.-led union Smiley)

There is actually little point of the US joining and becoming a member of OPEC. It would be bound by their rules and regulations as well as production quotas which would probably not go down well with the US.
And like you noted, if the US were to join any alliance or union, I’m pretty sure it would desire to be at the head of such a union. And with OPEC, of which Saudi Arabia is a leading member, interests are sure to clash. While the US produces a shit load of oil on its own as well as having an incredible amount in reserves, I think the US has very little to nothing to gain from aligning itself with the Union. It’s been drilling and the production rate has increased recently and doing quite well by itself.
415  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Treat exchanges the way you treat your casino accounts. on: December 01, 2023, 09:59:19 AM
Sadly, what should be commonly known isn’t commonly practiced as people still fail to heed to sound advice until they get burned.
I think your analogy is quite flawed as some gamblers are also guilty of leaving considerable amounts on their preferred gambling accounts perhaps to be able to quickly place bets at short notice. Same issue with leaving your coins on exchanges, it’s commonly known but not always practiced.

We have an opportunity to have full control of our money. A system different from the traditional banking system, so what purpose is moving from the traditional banking system if you'll just end up keeping your money in a centralized exchange?

People who had or still have their money saved under/inside their mattress have a pretty good idea on how important having self custody of their funds really is. We do have the opportunity presently to take custody of our funds but it seems people are not willing to be wholly responsible for safeguarding their own money.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 01, 2023, 08:59:19 AM
For sure, Manchester City will have an easy win against Tottenham Hotspur because of their injury crisis, but it will not be easy for Manchester City to top the Premier League table soon, Arsenal will fight to be on top of the Premier League table till this year finish. Arsenal being on top of the Premier League table can make them to win most of their matches just to remain at the top of the Premier League table.

I too predict a win for Manchester City against Tottenham. But it may not be an easy win like you think. Tottenham is no small team and could very well prove to be a problem for Man City and I don’t think they may find it that easy to have a win.
Ordinarily, one would have thought Manchester City in their previous game against Liverpool would finish the game with a win but it probably surprised everyone as Liverpool managed to hold City to a draw. With City’s performance so far, it wouldn’t have been difficult to have a win over Liverpool but we got a draw in the game.
The game with Tottenham would be interesting to watch. I think Man City could be the victor in the game but it won’t probably be that easy.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: December 01, 2023, 08:19:06 AM
I don’t there’s anyone who doesn’t know there’s a possibility of wining a million with sports betting. And no one is preaching that you can’t win such amounts in gambling. We’ve seen threads like yours about people who went on to win a considerable large sum of money after playing with a small amount too. It happens but it’s definitely not consistent.
You’re right about not achieving your desired goals if you don’t try. But we should always be sensible and realistic about all things.
I don’t know the earlier financial situation of the person who won the game cause obviously, he now has some good money in the bank. But if you don’t have an income and choose to make an income from gambling, then you’re more likely to go broke than win such amounts.
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: November 30, 2023, 11:56:11 PM

How would one in the first play invest with a range of $10 and expecting to win $100 with the stake with no stress in just matter of seconds, hours for a just a day?
What ever the nature of gambling would be, it is indeed a game of greed and change change it.
Though such a game as shown if lost at last is apparently a greed. Such person's are likely not beholding to responsible gambling.

It is possible to play with a small amount of $10 and win $100 in return. It’s a slim possibility for having a win but one nevertheless. Such games I’ve personally seen are football games having a large number of games to be played. I wouldn’t say games played with such amounts are played entirely cause of greed. Some play having crazy high hopes of a win while some play looking to see how many of their predictions came out correct.

Such games like the one posted by the OP, if lost can’t be fully attributed to greed. It could also be poor decision making at the time. Some players who are willing to take the risk to see how the outcome would be keeping in mind that the outcome may not favor them.
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Its A Gambling Joke But Reflects Bad Things About Gambling on: November 30, 2023, 11:28:52 PM
It’s dark humor. We would all laugh about it but it could also make one self reflect if affected negatively at any time by gambling and in any way. It’s a joke alright and it does reflect the bad aspects of excessive gambling. Sadly, a lot of people have gone through and still suffer the scenario as in the OP.
It also doesn’t mean people can’t and haven’t purchase new vehicles with the money they’ve won from gambling. But In the urgency to win such amounts, people are likely to go broke and into financial ruin and having to borrow money to provide their needs
420  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: November 30, 2023, 10:59:46 PM
It is, but not for everyone since others can't just afford it.

If you're making a more than enough money in your job, then getting an insurance, whatever kind of insurance that you need is a good move for the long run. It will save you from an emergency when you need it. However, not all insurances offer the same services, others are just going to give you headache when you want to get it, because for example, someone in your family died or got in an accident, which cover in your insurance.

Insurance services is open for everyone. Everyone who can afford it of course. Incidentally, the poor and in some cases, the average family don’t make enough money to afford those services. They barely have enough to live on and are more worried about problems they’re currently facing than unforeseen ones that may pop up later in the future.
Not all insurance companies offer the same service and not all can be said to be reputable. There’re shady companies that would try not to pay righteous claims even after investigations. With everything, including looking for the right insurance company that provides the services we want, we’ve got to do our due diligence.
