401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investment a necessity or a want? on: March 23, 2024, 01:33:12 AM
Some people misuse opportunities, because you have the chance or opportunity to invest in crypto does not guarantee you to put all you life into it. They say people should be passionate about what they do but spend all you life including your health life for coins is worth two risk.

In a normal sense, it's only those who are alive that will eat the fruit of your labour so your life should be first before investment, your friend has lost it all to chasing the bag, I haven't seen anything that I'm so obsessed with that will lead me to taking unnecessary actions against my health and life.

Directing to your question, investment is a necessity and also a want, they both work Viz vice. One need to invest in any area of life which he or she chooses but it's also if you want. Basically if you don't invest you will end up moving from the social status ladder of being poor to wretched level where you wouldn't be able to find food. But in the aspect of the story your friend is probably losing it to the market.
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is not the future, it is the present on: March 23, 2024, 01:20:07 AM
I see that we are still early adopters in the crypto world, we have many advantages over the majority of others. Our job is to continue to believe in and support crypto!
Perhaps crypto is making a lot of changes in our society today with it's growth in adoption but I don't see it as a ground that it will be adopted to the point of being as easy as fiat, crypto could make all of its progress but it can not stand the positions of fiat.
Although we the users can only increase it's potentials by adopting it the more and supporting it's progress but be rest assured that crypto wouldn't take the place of fiat in this current generation, because of it's little flaws.

Anyways highlighting from your point, we are already in the crypto era as an investment but not as a currency for a regular use like the fiat.
403  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am in dire need of assistance for my improvement on: March 23, 2024, 12:02:57 AM

405  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I invest to BTC? on: March 22, 2024, 09:21:16 PM
Building on what most people have said above, when you want to invest in bitcoin whether small investor or big investors it's best put some things into consideration. Like, if you invest with your capital, it's not going to affect your day to day survival. It should be an amount you can afford to lose and it's more advisable not to go all in with all your money (capital) in order not to be stressed with your investment.

Another thing you should consider is wallet that will be used to store your investment, there are lost of wallets to use to store your assets depending on the asset you want to buy, if you invest in altcoins then open source wallets like unstoppable wallets and Metamask is good for you although they can also hold bitcoin but it's best store bitcoin in a good wallet like Electrum if you have enough capital you could make it a cold storage but since you're starting small, using Metamask is a better option than if you purchased with Metamask wallet you can move your coins (bitcoin) to Electrum wallet from Metamask.

There is a good feature in Metamask that you could enjoy which is purchasing with debit card, if you're in an eligible country then you have no problem less problems to encounter when purchasing. Additionally we have methods of investing in bitcoin which includes; DCA, Lump sum and Buying the dips you can use this methods to increase your stash of bitcoin at any given time.
406  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be ready when it comes to selling? on: March 22, 2024, 09:06:39 PM
I totally understand your point but I would advise you not to be very greedy to the extent of wanting to catch the selling price at the very best, if you want to catch the best price for selling you could fall into problems because at the time which you think is the best might not be the best, so instead of find the best time to sell just be prepared to take profit at a desire or conducive level.

Exchanges are really not trusted, they have more of negative expectations than positive, you should better stick with your funds in a cold storage, if you wish to sell at point it wouldn't take too long to complete your transaction from your cold storage to an exchange the you can sell. Although it's not certain that transactions will be price fast during the peak because there might be congestion but it's better not to loss your funds, instead of losing it all to an exchange no matter the reputation they have it's best to reduce the chance of been scammed by them, instead move all the assets to you cold storage. It will guarantee your safety.
407  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Nigerian System of Education on: March 22, 2024, 08:45:06 PM
For real the educational system in Nigeria is not longer favourable for the current globalisation, all I have seen in the university is that the academic curriculum is only preparing it's students for a slavery understanding that is building only people who will come out and start begging for jobs all over the country whereas we not long in the stage where people graduate from school and big companies comes to employ them directly giving them a good begining for a better life. Hence we are only being prepared for such while that era is past already.

It takes only few to start understanding the new shift in the globe and I appreciate the fact that the head of my department in university is so enlighten with the current situation of the world and as a result he keeps reminding us that we should better look for something good to do with our life's than spend all our time in the university because at the time we will be graduating, the world will be in new condition and if we don't adapt to that we might end up being one those youths who complain everyday that there is no job. So what his saying in essence if you're line of career isn't ment for school you should better chase it than waste all the quality time in school because the country's educational system is not favourable to the current situation of the world, one must be productive enough to achieve a good height.

He said in quote - Prof. John mark ~ untill you are prepared, you can never be preferred. I took this upon myself to build a career which I dream of than spend all my time chasing shadows in class.

Most of the students in universities are equally contributing to the corrupt educational system, some are only in school because there parents wants that and I'm not too far from that, a lot of people are only there because they want to make there family proud hence the school does not pass through them they only pass through the school.

Finally, we don't have to keep complaining about it, rather let's look at what exactly can we do about the situation of poor Educational system. For me I will keep encouraging my young people not to fly into the university rather chase their dreams except your area of focus requires this educational studies. Instead of wasting 5 years in school put all that time in your skill and improve on it.
408  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Religion for help us but na we no wan face am the right way. on: March 22, 2024, 06:53:32 PM
In our Nigeria today religion has been one of top influence of corruption, intact a catalyst for corruption. If Nigeria was in it's early stage where Christianity and Islamic religion wasn't introduced it have been better, the concept in which this religions got into our regions where mixed with corrupt minds abd as such it continued to be a force for evil deeds, people using bible quotations as backup to there evil plans, muslim using Quran quotations for achieving their selfish aims etc.

Alot of people have attend political positions as a result of their influence in the religious environment or most religious leaders requesting members to vote or manipulate who they like most or people of their choice into a political position either because they have contributed to the religious environment development or in one way or the order has been sponsoring the religious leader and religion as an organisation. Without considering competency and other required criteria for leadership hence contributing to bad leadership in Nigeria which have be stroking it's neck for so long now.

One of my major concerns is the rate at which people do not long have trust for themselves, rather they entrust their life's to a religious leader. If we start dedicating our life to work religion won't play much role our day to day politics, it's because we over exaggerated things that came from religious perspective that has kept us in this condition.
409  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Work from home or an office job? on: March 22, 2024, 11:10:49 AM
The idea of white collar jobs where the old ways of earning a good living and that has lead our parents to think getting a white collar job makes you responsible than people who work from home. One thing that one most note is that an idol man is the devils workshop that statement is still very much applied in our localities and hence when you stay in doors day in day out you're presumed to be prone to crime, adding to the current rate of fraudulent activities going in our society, when your parents are the one who worked so hard to give you a live with this white collar jobs they expect you to keep up with their legacy and ones you deviate from that you are term incriminating.

The movement from white collar jobs to remote jobs is what we consider social change and perhaps it's has not come to the notice of alot of people that we are now in a social change era where things from our past does not longer apply to our current state of society. Alot of people are beginning to move from the white collar jobs to remote jobs, perhaps most does not enjoy being under someone, which means they prefer to be free without control in their work environment which whjlitw collar jobs doesn't provide.

I don't expect you to as the question that if one most make it in an online space he most be involved in illegal activity, because even a kid with rational thinking is supposed to know that it's very wrong. Because alot of people have been making it alot in the crypto space without getting involved with any illegal stuff, how about programmers who made codes and went from zero to hero. They're lot of people who made it online to mention but are few, currently with a well planned life one can even make it from this forklum compared to other high paying jobs online.

In conclusion, the movement from regular jobs (white collar jobs or blue collar jobs) are going into extension gradually, and that is a result of the paradigm shift in thought. The internet is a revolution.
410  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Be careful when doing transaction on: March 22, 2024, 03:40:21 AM
It's a good reason for one to always cross check his or her transaction before approving it, if the transaction happens to be a mistake that means the owner must be suffering from Trojan virus or clipboard virus that are always responsible for changing ones addresses.

Bitcoin transaction or cryptocurrency at large transactions are more of risk and anyone trying to take this risk should do it with caution. Having in mind that is any thing goes wrong he or she would be accountable for that mistake. Cryptocurrency transactions are not reversible so one must be careful before dash out our assets to people who didn't work for it.

It only takes a big firm to get reverse in this case and that means all funds sent to a wrong address is gone and nothing can be done about it. Perhaps the content of the thread is a nice idea.
411  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Elementary Economics or What Alternatives? on: March 22, 2024, 03:26:30 AM
Perhaps we all know how the country has been and how it's going now, there seems to be no progress in any area of production. The two points you outline are very useful and important ideas to increase the economic situation of a country like Nigeria but have you not noticed that this tools has been used severally yet no result ? Yes that because the problem of the country is too deep to be discussed in just a few lines of words.

Several times I have heard the news where the Ex president Gen. Mohammedu Buhari said his closing the boards to reduce the importations of external goods yet price of things went up but I saw no difference, intact that option leader to an increase in hard ship. Or do we not remember when Ex president Good luck Johnathan said that we all should  go back to agricultures that depend we shouldnt depend on crude oil any more. Yet  this strategies to coupe economic set back has not been working in the country for some reasons.

With the rate of corruption present in the country no matter the economical strategies used in other to uplift the economy I don't think it will ever work because the so called leaders of our nations are trading the reputation and decisions of the country with external forces in other to make themselves look strong to other countries, investing almost every dime made from Nigeria another country etc. with all this the economy will not be saved yet except we have to pull all the old leaders of Nigeria out from the sit and let a less corrupt people rule.
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are memecoins also classified as Altcoins? on: March 22, 2024, 03:19:30 AM
I know by now you must have gotten enough answer to your question, and I believe this questions is as a result of you not having a good background know of cryptocurrency generally because you should know the difference between bitcoin and every other coin. Or perhaps you needore work to do than post maybe you should consider reading articles first and get yourself acquainted with the basic bitcoin and the cryptographic knowledge to be able to survive in the space.

You and also visit learnmeabitcoin[1] web page to learn more of bitcoin and how it works. That website has every beginner knowledge in it, hence after reading you will begin to follow up with the space of bitcointalk community.

Additionally I would also suggest you go to this thread or find any other thread that is rated to cryptocurrency word/ terminologies (vocabularies)[2] and there meanings it will help you to know the meaning of abbreviations that are used in the crypto space.

413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops are getting easier to get this year on: March 21, 2024, 10:09:37 PM
It can't be said that airdrops are now easy but it's more like a gamble with your money to earn more, or what we call stake to earn projects. You have to put something to get the airdrops, since we are prone to change maybe people are most interested in this change it launching of new project.

For wallets if you want security or privacy you are to go for open source wallets, perhaps wallets are not like exchanges most are more secured. Exchanges don't have a feature to store I significant amount of assets on it, it's all risky to even live a good amount of money in exchanges. If you wish to try any of the wallet then you should try with a relatively small amount of coin/money in order to reduce the risk.

I don't think bitget is a wallet rather it's an exchange but it's decentralised, so it might be good but that's only of one trys it out if not there is no way we will know it it's good or not, or perhaps we will learn from you experience.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's next in the memecoin cycle? on: March 21, 2024, 09:46:26 PM
Any thoughts on this prediction? Or how much longer do you think this will last?
Unfortunately, no one can predict the next action of the market that is why it's a risky place, hence the next memecoin to boom is unknkw to all but at least we have alot of them hanging around hyping and performing to reach a new peak.

Altcoins/memecoins  are know for one thing which is surprise, you don't always be aware of the one which is to go higher again rather you onkybhave to wager around with your funds more like gambling to be able to achieve the altcoin season.

For all I know is that bitcoin is not yet done with it's performance and as such we are still anticipating more of bitcoin price raise, it's still unpredictable on how much long it will last. With the rate which solana has performed now I think solana is the altcoin of the year, so I have to either stick with it because it's not done with it's performance.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A weird interview on: March 21, 2024, 08:45:49 PM
Perhaps it should sound weird to alot of people, of course not every one knows the importance of bitcoin and how big it would be in future, so you choosing to know the current price of bitcoin when you eventually get out from the prison shows that bitcoin is the true freedom.

Maybe the interviewer doesn't not know much about bitcoin but from your response he/she would like to make more research on bitcoin, in 10 years bitcoin will experience two cycle which means it should be not les than 200k in price.
One big fact about your response shows a very big hope in bitcoin and that will surely encourage people to hold and keep buying more bitcoin.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bank - Safely store your bitcoin on: March 21, 2024, 03:21:20 PM
When I read the title of this trade I thought it would be some nice content but here it's not. This is the worst proposal I have seen in BTT.

What's the difference between your proposal and a centralised exchanges? Infact a centralised exchange is even better than yours because they don't charge as much as you want to charge for holding a coin (my assets) for me.

Why will I keep my bitcoin with someone in the first place? That's against my doctrine, I'm a privacy advocate and why will I like to give someone who I don't know my bitcoin when a self custodian wallets exist. Every terms stated here is absolutely ridiculous in my perspective so I wouldn't patronize that.
417  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Are there some charges to use Bitcoin ATMs ? on: March 21, 2024, 02:57:51 PM
Normally charges must apply. Is there any good service that is being offered without charges whether of bitcoin related or not, for you to get a good services you must pay for it directly or indirectly.

There are charges that apply to every transaction done with the bitcoin ATM machines, they mostly used for maintenance and I believe it's a sacrifice for giving you comfortablity. If you choose comfortablity you have to pay for it and that's exactly why charges apply in every transaction but it price it offers in a particular transaction varies so it's all dependent on how much you are transacting with.

For me I don't think I will ever think of going to transact with ATMs as they are more expensive than the regular transactions carried out on a regular.
418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin proven many times holders won't regret on: March 21, 2024, 02:37:54 PM
That's one of the major reasons why I prefer bitcoin to every other investment, infact bitcoin is not to be compared with every other coins/tokens in the crypto space, it has proven itself over a decade and more, it's really some kind of paradigm that people are looking down on. Bitcoin has been top 1 all time since launched and no other project has tried to attain a close height that it has gotten for years now even the famous Ethereum couldn't get there.

For holders, looking at the price history of bitcoin one should be rest assured that holding bitcoin will be more profitable in a long term. Although it's true that no body knows tomorrow but at least for bitcoin the future price is assured so, for holders they should keep holding, in every four years cycle bitcoin will keep reaching a new all time high, hence holding shouldn't be given a double thought on to be acted upon.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Quiz] Answer the Bitcoin question and earn merits! #2 on: March 20, 2024, 09:19:27 PM
Sir, the probability of having exactly 3 blocks mined within the next 10 minutes is approximately 0.0613, or 6.13%.
I'm learning alot here, but i believe this answer of yours is AI generated.

If you did it yourself then show working, or at least explain how you got the answer.

Here is one of the rules of the quiz, your answer must be explanatory.

  • Your answer needs to be explanatory. Not just a yes-no or a single number.
If you don't know the answer you can just remain calm and learn from what others will do probably try to use one of the formulas posted above to find your own answer you might be correct.
420  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Looks like Nigeria is getting worse.. on: March 20, 2024, 02:01:59 AM
According to someone here in the local board who was tying to express his feeling about this sane case said, "the law of gravity does not function in Nigeria". I partially agree with him in the cost of purchasing ones need you discover that no matter the fall of goods and service in the country the people doesn't agree with said price fall rather they increase it on a daily basis.

The only solution I can give in this situation of things is that government should regulate the price of fuel and sanctions should be included directly, if someone or a station because an escape goat the rest will learn their lesson and reduce the price of fuel and by this it's certain that price of goods and services will reduce, but if it doesn't reduce then a task force like the one Ex government wike used during his leadership to enforce task payment.

Anyways I'm not expecting Nigeria to get any time soon because it's seems to be very rare to have a better Nigerian government that can take responsibility for everyone.
