401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever done something crazy to bet? on: March 22, 2024, 10:38:08 PM
Hi community,

I remember when I was in middle school, we used to play cards almost every day, and our stupidity reached the point where we would skip classes while we were inside school. The method of playing was easy, as the largest number was the winning card. So, some of my friends and I would gather in the middle school bathroom and make bets with the money that we had collected  from selling cigarettes.
Of course, this is not something I am proud of and I do not recommend it to everyone, but it's just childhood memories .

-Have you ever bet at the wrong place and the wrong time?

Ain't really childhood memory for me, mine was at teenage, you know the shit, just getting a little freedom on making your own decisions but the never come home late rule and all that, I was hanging out with some notorious gang back I'm school were I was introduced to street racing using skates, we would place our bets with the board man and get the rolling going, mom was so furious when she found out not about the skating but the bad friends, I was grounded for 2 weeks, I even skipped lots of classes for doing that.
402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causes loss on: March 22, 2024, 10:26:57 PM
It is a must but was too late late because they let this thing happen when we could prevent it in the first place. Once addiction is already there, that is hard to stop.

Your right, anyone gambling should try not yo get addicted cause that can make him or her lose a lot in his life and the worst part is that people never know when they are getting addicted or over doing it with gambling, they first start with seeing it as a hustle and when you have become money dependent on something you increase the risk of you beign addicted to it, whek you lose you have no option than to cause your loses, it starts slowly but before we know it you are so deeply inside the habit that you ate stuck.

But I don't think any where is too far to get out, I've been into gambling so notoriously that I would use my transport fare to come back from school to place bets but when I saw what u was doing to me I decided to stop, why most people can't stop is not because the grip is too hard, but rather because they decide to decide themselves about the habit.
403  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 22, 2024, 10:16:07 PM

There is likely going to be variance with pensioners, and part of the presumption is that any kind of pension is usually not going to keep up with the cost of living, so some pensioners might have other sources of income and other pensioners might ONLY have the pension as their main source of income.  So early in their pension time, their pension may be covering all of their needs and they might have extra that they are able to invest, and perhaps investing in something like bitcoin could help to off-set their pension payouts so that if a pensioner might invest in Bitcoin for 4-10 years or longer, then at some point he might start to draw from his bitcoin investment and the amount that is drawn would then supplement his pension income when the pension might no longer have as much purchasing power as it used to have in its earlier years.
one of the reasons why it will be deficult to talk about investing with proceeds of pension is that the amount paid for pension is usually small and during those period, the person receiving the pension is normally out of work and would in most cases not have an alternative means of income except he has probably made investment while he was still in active service.

Things like pension are not very reliable sources of investment and from the persons age he should be quite old and retired if he is living off pension, so investing in bitcoin to reach a fuck you status should be around 1 bitcoin or 4 bitcoin for him( just assuming), which should be almost 300k$ and yeah considering his age he wouldn't have enough time to invest, so let's say he has 4-5 years to get to this fuck you status of 4 bitcoin then we should be talking about an average of 1.4k invested weekly for 206 weeks and yeah bit woudl do it's usually of having ups and down, but if he is only relying on pension to get to this fuck you status that would be  realistic, cause I've heard that sometimes pension pays can be delayed, and apart from that we can't expect him to invest so much in bitcoin at that age cause he might be considering his health and well being which might already be eating off a major part of his pension. So your damn right.

What would have worked well for most public workers is that the amount that's taken out of their monthly salary for the purpose of pension would have probably been invested into an asset at least five years to thier retirement and they will be allowed to take it out at the time of their retirement.
This isn't a bad Idea but you can't be relying on the government to make good decisions for you concerning your future, I think a more better situation would have been to start
Investing in bitcoin earlier with the DCA method even if it's only small amounts of allocation to it and that would stack up over the years, even better to become fully responsible for their retirement by going all out to invest in bitcoin and preparing for the retirement themselves.

Most countries like mine has a routine of taking 8% of yyour monthly income which will accumulate to what you will receive as pension after retirement, it's mostly calculated before you receive your monthly pay and the rest comes in as your salary. If you work for an average of 30 years, then imagine if that 8% of your income was actually invested into an asset instead of lucking them up to be paid in installments at the point of your retirement. This goes to show the value of the knowledge we have now with respect to investing using the DCA strategy. What they where doing is basically saving in fiat using the DCA strategy but because fiat is subject to inflation and don't really gain value after all the years of saving, the value of the amount that's being paid as pension end up not good enough to sustaining most retired people and some that should have been enjoying thier retirement benefit and would have reached the fuk you stage would find themselves in a position of thinking about making investment at an old age.

I still stand on my ground that it would be better to take this action yourself than rely on government to think in terms of what woidl be better for you or not, anyone that has been working for over 20 years and let's say with an income of 5000$ and decides to remove a little percentage of this as 5% which would be about 250$ to invest in bitcoin through DCA method on a weekly interval which would be a total of 25% monthly invested I bitcoin would be on a much better track than and has a better chance of a good retirement than any pension salary, okay let's imagine that the government didn't take any amount from their salary and pension became optional, I still doubt that many would still consider bitcoin even as the best over the pension, so yeah this decision to invest in bitcoin would be a self decision.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats Your Favourite Meme Coins? on: March 21, 2024, 11:31:14 AM
I hate meme coins at least all for now, and cause they are such a nusance in the crypto space, so easy to create and promote for anyone that has enough fame to do so, scammers desiguse using them to scam a lot if innocent user and take away their profits. I'll hardly scream to the moon for any if those.
405  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for March on: March 21, 2024, 11:28:23 AM
When this thread opened many people said that March would be bullish and some said it would be bearish but bitcoin has thought us a lesson that it has always been teaching, I'm fucking unpredictable, no one can actually predict with accuracy the outcome of bitcoin price unless for sure there are some facts that revel such .

406  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the dip people!!! Could be last chance for prices this low on: March 21, 2024, 11:07:29 AM
Bitcoin is currently undergoing a correction back to the $60,000s. Around $68k now, got down to $66k.

This is the time to buy before the bull run really gets going. This MIGHT be the lowest it gets. While a deeper fall during this correction, or another correction in the near future, is certainly possible, this might also be as low as it gets. After the near future, the only time it might get this low again is in like two years on the next bear market, and these prices may be the bottom of the bear market.

So anyone who has money sitting on the sidelines and who wants to buy Bitcoin, today is gonna likely be one of the lowest days we're gonna see for at least the next 18-24 months, and maybe forever! Buy!

It's such a shame that most people are actually fidgeting and selling their holdings cause of fear or panic from loses than to take advantage of this deep and add more to their holdings, I personally feel those that sell might end up buying higher cause right now bitcoin is beginning to gain and surely they might not buy now that we have a Dip or rather they might be waiting for a much lower dip like maybe 59k, but this is sure the lowest the market can go and its better they buy now than wait even further.
407  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bothered about every DIP? It's just a mental check. on: March 21, 2024, 11:00:43 AM
I wasn't expecting $100k at all, all I was expecting was to see Bitcoin at $80k this month and I'm still positive that there's a chance for Bitcoin to reach $80 or at least $75k in the month of this March. I was expecting it to reach that point sooner but now I believe it will take some time.

The DIP has been beneficial for me as a trader because during the pump's peak I opened some short positions and due to the recent dump I made profits from those positions. So it depends on your mindset that how you see the volatility of the market.

I'm more certain that we woidl be recovering soon enough and this dip is just a normal thing that happend cause of weak hands that sold so soon, the dip is such a good thing for those that knows that it is an opportunity more than something to be worried about, so instead of beign in panic and rush to sell your asset which is most practiced by short term traders it's better to change your perspective to a long term mindset and start seeing every dip as a potential opportunity to add more to your holdings, that's a better way to view bitcoin.
408  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: March 21, 2024, 10:47:28 AM

I think that the fact that I am pushing my limits and increasing my quantity of pushups is continuing to cause me quite a bit of ongoing soreness and pain.

I am also thinking that some of the advantages can be that it is way easier to carry my groceries.. and so some of these pay-offs can really come in handy, from time to time.
Yes it kinda pays  off and you carrying  groceries some long distances  is part of it too Smiley
The pain Yeah! It will especially the push-ups  it gives lower arm and abdominal pain from burning the farts. Although,  I don't  know your age but  you can set some  days in a week maybe two to take a break from it or you can just do less maybe 5 pushups  or you can pick a particular  week to do this five pushups for a week maybe a week in a month .
Then from my experience  after pushups you try to extend  your chest by standing  between  maybe two pole , extending  your hands towards  the to poles with you in between , now go forth and backwards feeling  your chest expand and contract, you can do 10 to 15 of this as its  more easier and this way you should expand your chest .
You shouldn't  take it too far because  of age I think it makes the heart beats very much faster whenever you are doing the fitness  and you should eat more often to put up some little  farts not too much chunks, you should try  spicy food not before your pushups  but hours afyter your pushups (spicy food increase fitness faster from exp) o eat spicy noodles  alot  Grin not too much spicy though

I think Jay already got that figured out for himself, from his recent comments he even talked about spreading out the excerise between the days to reduce the effect of pain for age ones or those that can't well endure the rigorous excerise.

Yeah those quick meals to rehain strength isn't such a bad idea especially when you going far distance for your work out, maybe a gym or somewhere more convenient that your house with a lot of motivators, I enjoy doing my work out in the gym with lots of neighbour hood friends, it's fun lots of talking and it's easy to push myself since many of friends have been I to pushups quite longer than me so It's just easier to do up to that 100 push ups.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: March 21, 2024, 09:01:18 AM
The topic of how much anyone should rich or poor is a thign of personal decision and preference, a rich man might not even want to stake high at all at any match and still prefer the live of using very small amount to win big amounts cause that's how he likes it while another would want to stake high on smaller odds to increase his chance on winning, a poor man would most likely prefer to stake small and try to get rich out of it and other woudl prefer to play safe on it and stake high to on small odds to increase their chance of winning and some woudl still fall in the category of doing both even with their preference beign either, so I think anyone can chose to risk high or small and there is none that is or should be doing it more than the other as long as they obey the rule of stake what you can afford to lose.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 21, 2024, 08:54:29 AM
Every season Dortmund continues to lose star players, Sancho, Lewandowski, Haalaand and even now Donyell Malen seems to be soon following his senior to get out of Signal Iduna Park, as a top team of course so far Dortmund has stable finances but somehow they also cannot refuse if there are other teams who want to sign their star players at high prices,  Dortmund are not a team that runs out of star players in their squad and it doesn't even take long for them to re-orbit another star player next season when this season they lose a mainstay player.

Dortmund have been signing young players to their squad and develop those players to a professional standard and sells those players to big teams in other to make more money for the club. No doubt that Dortmund is financially stable but it seems their pattern is just training up players to a quality state and dispose them to other clubs and they have been doing this practice for a very long time now and most of the players that leaves Dortmund to other teams obviously do more better there so it's not new.
I have never doubted Borussia Dortmund's ability to develop young players who will become high-value players later, we have seen them produce many young players who are now even mainstay players in their respective teams. They are very effective in seeing the abilities of young players, and in their hands the player can be transformed into a promising player.
But the problem is that they never utilize their skills in that regard. They prefer to seek more benefits than titles. Because I'm sure if they focus more on utilizing their abilities to make them win a title it will be very possible, but unfortunately their main priority is profit.
Real Madrid ensure the best players and best quality managers in every position, starting with the manager. All the managers who have worked for Real Madrid so far have been legendary players at one time and are the best managers of all time. The manager who is currently serving for Real Madrid has no weakness in managing the team and the current manager of Real Madrid is definitely the best among other managers. That's why Real Madrid hires good managers in their club so that through that manager good quality players get opportunities for their club. Real Madrid have been waiting for Mbappe and have been waiting for a long time. It is usually very rare that a club waits years for a player. Real Madrid have been waiting for Mbappe for years and finally Real Madrid may be getting Mbappe to their club from next season. If Mbappé joins Real Madrid, Real Madrid will be much stronger and they will become a much more formidable team.

Seriously I have my doubts about mpappe and I think he might not do very well in his first season at real Madrid, if you look at the Current la liga unlike before other teams are getting stringer and wants to also step up their games and be a stronger team, anyway the current real Madrid is already beaten the league and we cab already tell they have the tittle in their bags and have nothing to lose at this point, real Madrid wouldn't be signing mapped for the la liga league but for the champions league cause they sure want to retain the title of winning it back to back and although they are a formidable team they still have big challenges to face like man City. So my point is that mpapee might take sometime to adapt to the league since its a stronger league than the French league.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Feelings on losing the match and the bet on: March 21, 2024, 08:44:58 AM
Normally I don't just place bet on Mt favourite team except they have quite the form out there, I mean like the best of the season or based on statistics they are better than the other team and supposed to win and in some cases I'll leave them, I guess it's better to predict matches without favouritism or special care or attention towards one team over the other.

If my team based on my analysis were supposed to win and I banked on it, If I lost I'll surely not be happy about it and probably nag a lot about their poor performance 😁
412  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 20, 2024, 08:06:53 PM
So, when you put money into bitcoin, you should be considering that money to be completely gone for 4-10 years or longer.. and you are not going to be able to or want to dip into it for any reason, except the passage of time and there after seeing that a lot of time has passed and your value in bitcoin had been compounding several times.. and as you keep investing, each time that you newly put money into bitcoin, that money becomes ineligible for withdraw for 4-10 years or longer.. so if you are still fairly aggressively investing into bitcoin 10 years down the road and you are still adding value to your holdings, then the new money that you put in has a 4-10 year investment timeline, and so it makes no sense to be selling any of your BTC if you are still accumulating 10 years down the road.
which such target 4-10 years depending on how frequent one his in his bitcoin accumulation, one can be able to secure a good portfolio for himself after accumulating and holding for such time rate . And for someone who's interested in holding , would actually need a good good source to hold for that long . One should always make good plans ahead accumulating and same time handling financial situation.

You have been mentioning aggressive when accumulating bitcoin if I may ask I can one know if his over doing it (getting too or over aggressive) with his investment , so sir @JayJuanGee how can one know  .

Maybe you should provide an example in regards to where the confusion might lay?

The general idea is that each of us should have some ideas about our discretionary income - which is the difference between income and expenses, and surely not too many folks are going to have exactly the same discretionary income each month, even if they might have a pretty steady income and some pretty steady expenses.  There is likely going to be some variance, which is part of the reason to maintain emergency funds, reserves and to manage aspects of your cash float.

The more organized that you are and the more experience that you have, then the more aggressive you can be in terms of spending higher amounts of your discretionary income on bitcoin (maybe even being able to spend 100% of your discretionary income on bitcoin), but if you are still trying to figure it out with exactness, and if you are still building your emergency funds and your reserves, then you would likely be better served by being less aggressive in terms of how much of your discretionary income you are spending on BTC, maybe only 10% to 20% of it.

You are likely going to be going overaggressive if you are spending beyond your abilities to be sufficiently organized, or spending high levels of your discretionary income without being sufficiently organized, or not establishing much if any of an emergency fund and/or reserves or prematurely tapping into your reserves and/or your emergency funds to put yourself into risky situations in regards to actual emergencies that might come, or inabilities to take advantage of BTC price moves, such as dips because you exhausted all of your funds without adequate preparations to be able to continue to buy and/or to buy on dips, if dips come.

This is quite striking, it seems that an important part of our investment journey lies in this little discovery of what our discretionary income is, and from what you have said its not too good to be overly aggressive until we have found a balance or are able to some point to figure this out a little do we don't end up having or putting ourselves in instabilities like having to dip our hands in our emergency funds to cover up for expenses or our reserves and we miss out on opportunities or not having enough floats to carry around, and all this are also important part of our investment and are our various backbones in investing that would enable us maximise our investment in bitcoin, yes its better we allocate smaller amounts as newbies untill we have this calculations set out, then beign aggressive isn't an issue.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you stake it all put of over confidence in your club on: March 20, 2024, 08:43:25 AM
You friend was just lucky. But what I can deduce from this is that he is an amateur gambler and if he continues in this part he is going to lose a lot of money in the long run.

It looks like he gambles on the whim. No proper analysis, no risk management strategies and all. I am not happy that he won because if he had lost he would have lost a valuable lesson. There is no lesson in winning rather it is going to motivate him to do it again. And lead him eventually to chasing losses.

Tell him to gamble responsibly.

It wasn't over confidence it was reckless.

Nah he isn't an armature gambler and I think  I well explained the situation very well, he was just trying to prove his confidence to me which in a way if he continues to do so in many occasions I would say immature but it was a one time thign and 5k isn't any thing to him, besides we used the money to have fun that same day.

Yeah he showed some kind of recklessness in his action to bet because if over confidence, gambling is risky and its based on luck, so he was luck this time.
414  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Nigeria leaders and corruption on: March 20, 2024, 08:39:36 AM
May I remind the OP that senator Ningi, that made that 3.7 trillion naira budget padding allegation has been suspended for three months in the Nigerian Senate, because he couldn't provide any tangible evidence for the alleged padding. Please verify information before posting, so you will not misled forum members with wrong information.

I'm saddened why Nigerian newbies who perhaps don't have adequate knowledge to start crypto related topics will always come to this board and always be focusing on negative things to say about Nigeria, although we have corrupt politicians, but then which country doesn't have corrupt politicians, it's not like bad leadership is peculiar to Nigeria, alone, we have countries that have worse dictators as leaders, yet their citizens don't make it headlines in this forum. We have a lot of achievements in different areas of our private sectors where individuals are making the country proud, like in the areas of entertainment and entrepreneurship, we have millions of genuine individuals who are very innovative and breaking barriers to achieve excellence and make the country to become greater.

Let these guys also raise topics about the positive energy in Nigeria, to balance this bad impression about the country, so people will not stereotype the country that nothing good can come out of it. I'm not a politician and I don't support their corruption, but I'm just concerned that Nigerian newbies starts too many topics about the negativity in Nigeria, forgetting to atleast balance it with the many positive achievements in the country.

Newbies just enjoy to make topic out of feelings that any actual facts, this boards consist of people from other countries and they may rely on this board for useful information about other countries, so try your best to verify your information before posting it here, and you know no one even gives merit for posting on this board so do the needful and don't mislead others with wrong information.
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The person who can’t control emotions in gambling will never earn money from it on: March 20, 2024, 08:23:03 AM
That's true, no one can achieve anything in life without having good control over you emotions and in thigns that you need to pay attention to mind more like gambling, you even need to have clear mind and emotions, that's why it's not good to gamble when you are experiencing losing cause you would enter a state of mind that might be depressing or sadness and you would end up losing more, so yeah good emotional control is good.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which player are you? on: March 20, 2024, 08:14:02 AM
I hate casino betting cause I feel its too manipulated for anyone to win, I dk t know about other experience but that's how I feel, but I've actually won have greater win to loss ratio from casino betting from the little time I played It.

I prefer sports betting cause I think I have more control over my luck, I know what I'm doing like I know the clubs form and can make informed decisions based on little knowledge so it's cool to me, yeah predictions never go as planned but I prefer this way.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Single or accumulation, which one do you prefer when it comes to sport betting on: March 20, 2024, 08:10:54 AM
Those who have very huge amount can stake as high as hey want on single cause that's how you really get profits from them, but personally I make my picks with accumulation so I can get up to 10 odds or 5 odds and I stake on it. I don't have the eyes for playing or selecting the right big odds so I don't trespass my area of luck
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I just woke up and saw wins in my gambling app on: March 20, 2024, 08:08:40 AM
sometimes things that we don't really expect will come true, but instead come true, like what happened to you. you initially played carefree and just for fun, but what happened was that you won your gambling. this proves that gambling is closely related to a person's luck. no matter how hard a gambler pursues their victory, if luck is not on their side, then they will never win. on the other hand, when they are lucky, no matter what, they will still win the gambling.
The chances of luck with gambling is much more higher than with skills and how well you make your picks, you don't always expect winnings regardless of how promising your picks are, you can be lucky at some point while in the other you become unlucky and it has nothing to do with how much you know or have invested in gambling, the place of luck can't be taken out completely as it's very paramount and not to be underestimated and such is in the case of the OP , this further makes us understand we should be careful gambling because it more about luck than knowledge.

If gambling was much about knowledge then it would be that these expert bettors should always be winning but even with their vast knowledge they still loose games even often then we can imagine but can sometimes be lucky enough that they get to recover all they have lost in a short while.

I won't agree with you on this cause almost everytime I had won money was when I took my time to predict just little odd like 5 odds and it has been working for me, but sincerely there are times when I just rush and pick based on odds with no analysis or whatsoever and it played out fine, now that's when I get luck and I have had quite the experience with this, so it's not entirely random to me or analysis but if you pick the right stuff it playes
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer's fan took his own life due to addiction on: March 20, 2024, 08:03:18 AM
A sad reality of online streaming that also doubles as a gambling promotion is that it can have unknown consequences with its widespread reach. As it recently came to light, a fan of Adin Ross took his own life. The controversy however was much more than just this fact. The controversy stemmed from the fact that Adin Ross' editor, being completely apathetic to these news of a man taking his own life, called it "old news" in a dismissive tone.

Source: https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/news-rip-him-adin-ross-editor-confirms-kick-star-reacted-fan-taking-life-due-gambling-addiction

Adin Ross is one of the most famous streamers in the world right now, with his content having hundreds of thousands of hours in watch time. Of course much of his content is direct promotion to slots games and such gambling. Perhaps Kick should add some limits to how "controversial" a streamer can be in their platform. People like Ross were banned from twitch after maaany violations.

What do you think about this? Do such people deserve a platform even on Kick?

Well, this isn't a surprise. The number of suicides due to gambling is really high compared to other suicidal problems out there. This is what they want to influence their audience with and there's nothing to blame with this issue other than this influencer. Personally, there have been times when I've thought about taking my life but I always remind myself that it's just a bad day and for sure tomorrow will be different. I want to quit gambling but I can't. I don't know why. Hopefully this won't happen to me.

Your funny bro, to me your the one who doesn't want to quite gambling, its not as tho they have a grip on you or your forced to the issue here is you need to renew your mind about this cause addiction is a tign of the mind. I have a friend who has been into smoking addiction before for two years but when
he  had a reason to stop he did which was his health, maybe you need to end up in a catastrophic even like losing all your life savings or weaking yourself for good then no one would need to advice you that you must leave gambling yourself.
420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Can you stake it all put of over confidence in your club on: March 20, 2024, 07:58:09 AM
Have anyone ever had confidence in any match that he was willing to be huge amounts to back up the confidence in a match that features his club. A friend of mine recently shocked me with how much passion and confidence he had in his club, man u vs liverpool  that happened on Sunday I guess was a very hard match cause Liverpool was already stomping 0:2 to man United but my friend was telling that man United won't lose the match, so I told him that if he has much confidence that he should stake life, shocking to me he went on and staked 5k on man United win to qualify which was about 7 odds at that time, and yeah it turned out right for him. Can any one do this or was it a foolish move?
