2.57M after 3 months heading into the 2nd high dpos phase
[...]

You got me there, OP text is misleading. I vote for an OP cleanup  Grin
Look at the graph. The 2nd stage of high rewards in ~3 months, is not just PoS. It is also PoW.

I was thinking the same thing when looking at it yesterday, just not one to post very often & just getting tired of knowing I could help. Had that stage of worrying if I helped the wrong coins all to many times, but tired of just sitting around & love to BBcode (even use github or anyone of the others to show exact changes). Really bad at graphics, but can code them into something & create somewhat of a website/original post style? Thinking there's enough well know bitcointalk users to offer to help with redesigning the OP (would still need someone who can help with graphics)? Just thought I'd throw that out there, as this project doesn't look like some copy/paste & I've helped all to many of those (thinking most had a purpose, some do & the rest just end up defunct).

Edit: The name axiom has a lot of reference, a few of them are quite keen.
402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Digitalcoin [DGC]. An Anonymous, Instant and Secure Digital Currency. on: July 20, 2015, 07:38:23 PM
Good question bitcoin1387 and defaced,

Because the others threads are all created with a personnal account.
This account isn't a private account. It's the DGC foundation community account on BTC.

The menbers of the foundation have access to this account and it's that why a new thread is created.
Updates can be done even if people leave.

Good intention but what is to prevent a foundation member to change the password before leaving?  Back to square one if that happen...

-tb-

Very well designed, just keep a few code copies on github (or any other site) & then you never have to go back to square one Cool

// Many other reasons why that's something missed in many of these applications over the years, seeing each & every change is a + for many reasons Cool

// Even copies of website code & other things are a professional way to keep backups Wink

I have updated the OP github page (https://github.com/TestingCrypto/ANN-OP-Thread-BBcode/commit/d52584e82417d435131eb6b504c673857f920e17), changing the current discussion & updating the Linux info. Also noticed you added Click to send altcoins to this BTC address, but the insertion was in the middle of the code & should read donate to this address (not send altcoins, quick fix though). Great podcast cryptomommy, everyone enjoy the rest of your weekend & MINT on.

404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN][MINT] Mintcoin V2.0.0 Win Released - Mandatory Upgrade - Need Linux & Mac on: July 19, 2015, 03:14:32 AM
Just pushed another small update for the OP, adding the Trello Development Board & a few small edits to the layout. I still need to update the wallet time line in the change log on the bottom of the OP, need the devs input on what should be written (1.17 & 2.0.0)? Also when the mintcointeam or cryptomommy log on next, update the Subject line of the original post & keep from an confusion on people checking in on the forum Wink

Here's the update from github for the addition to the OP:

What kind of work is this about i guess it would need more information to know if somebody has the skills for it or what has to be done for the money

For the most part, anything related to advancing and promoting Goldcoin (GLD).

We can use translators, social media experts, writers for press releases, forum moderators, someone to organize our newbie giveaway program, assistant developers to make binary builds, a fund raising specialist, a mailing list manager, someone to help keep our official thread monitored/bumped, etc., etc.

Most of all we want the job to be something you love and enjoy!

//Most of all we want the job to be something you love and enjoy!

Very interested in this, getting extremely bored of just mining (trying to help many others here & there from time to time, mostly charities) & really enjoy BBcoding on the forum (also many other things if requested, having many other skills).

For some reason it says v2.0.0

The download link says It says 1.2

I think it is supposed to say 1.20.0 correct?

Confusing ...anyway to update it so everything at least says the same thing?

2.0.0 is what it should be, as a major update.

Software Version (Point Scale)

x.y.z

Where:
x - major release
y - minor release
z - build number
    x = main version number, 1-~.
y = feature number, 0-9. Increase this number if the change contains new features with or without bug fixes.
z = hotfix number, 0-~. Increase this number if the change only contains bug fixes.

408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Donated $2k+ To Charity] Clean Water Coin: A Crypto Charity (Pure PoS) on: July 17, 2015, 05:52:13 AM
Ok guys, i've saved this coin one last time.  I'm all for helping out charity, but if it doesn't stay above trading volume, it will be removed next time Sad

Thanks,
Richie@bittrex

Thank you Richie, very honorable of you & let's hope anyone following WATER understands if that time comes. I my self have somewhat been blinded by all the FUD around delisting coins in the past, but it's business & you can't risk business over lack of community (maybe when there was only 100 coins, but not 1000's & more everyday it seems). It's not easy to run some of these applications 24/7/365, let alone servers with many of them & as a builder of well over a decade, thank you again for a great exchange. As I have watched the hard work from day one of Bittrex, as well as many exchanges that have been abandon or hack & many take for granted the ones that work day / night to keep a great platform. Let's hope Do a Bit of Good is still supporting this, as I have donated everything I had & am moving on to ones that are still active in charity (unless by surprise a community or developer shows up, only a hardware guy & not able to do much alone). Anyway, enough with the sob story & 1000's of failed tests Undecided

// Out of all this, if even one or two really make it to change the world of charity (as well as many other usages of the blockchain). Then it will be worth it, change isn't easy & sometimes looks hopeless Cool
409  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I Want to make a Bitcoin Wallet on: July 15, 2015, 11:13:25 AM
Maybe you can include a quick tutorial on how to get started? Like import a private key or sending and receiving your first coins? User friendliness is what we need to attract more people.

This ^

The first concepts of crypto still have the feel of a decade old software, quick tutorials have been around a year or two & in need of a full walk through for far to long (think of installing software a decade ago, then compare to now). If you look how far UI's have come over the years in software, bitcoin & most of the originals could really use this. I compare some of the first to installing the first O.S. right next to the many newest O.S.'s of today (even web browsers would compare), it's still only a tech knowledgeable software utilization & the need for non-technical usage is what is missing (saying this for almost 2 years). Because what's the point if it's to complicated to use, sure many will learn & most will just wait for the learning curve to be a much simpler design.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Donated $2k+ To Charity] Clean Water Coin: A Crypto Charity (Pure PoS) on: July 13, 2015, 10:16:54 PM
Bittrex news:
This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on July 3rd unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.2 BTC.
:/

Looks like the volume was covered, WATER is one of the longest standing coins on Bittrex & that's the first time having that warning. I wouldn't worry to much about it, not like it's a new coin or doesn't have a good purpose to it Wink

Although the volume was covered, I checked Bittrex today and here is the message

" This market is delisted due to low trade volume and lack of user interest."

Doesn't make any sense...

Must have been one of Bittrex's paid coins (when they first started), after a year or something they put the weekly code back in & it was way below the thresh-hold for months at a time? People give Cryptys a hard time (they run more apps than any other), Bittrex (sceptical for a long time, but they've always worked with quick fixes & have a great site) handles the newest apps faster & cryptsy or poloniex are more of a longterm site.

I've watched Clean Water Coin (WATER) since the very first block (mined with the cheapest GPU @ maybe 20Kh/z), as many apps/coins, the idea was something great & I held everything from day one to the peak of Bittrex (last month, so over a year & bought over the last 6 months to donate). The Do a Bit of Good sites donation of WATER was 90% me trying to make something good out of this (a 1/4 mil GIVE as well), but yes the lack of interest is somewhat correct via Bittrex's terms (can't blame them, it's just business & they built a great site.). The original team went through all kinds of trouble (as have 1000's of coins/apps on launch), but it turned out & the app works great. The forum has been a steady launch of apps, very tough to make something with all the look this way & no look that way.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FIRE] FireCoin - 97K <PoW - 150K >POS - Rebuilding on: July 04, 2015, 05:47:10 AM
So what future plans for this coin, dev?

The original developer abandon right after PoW (Original Post Info), a few community members (coders & non-coders, or dev's as most say) tried to build a good community around FIRE & also decided to leave it. If there's no community, there's no development & developers can't do anything about that. FIRE works great (having personally tested over 1000+ wallets, it's resources to run are far less than most), but there's 100's of coins that work & have very small community (or lack of communication). There's also 1000's of them that have been defunct (abandon or broken beyond repair). I know many have spent 100's of hours working on rebuilding FIRE (more than once to help from the abandonment after PoW), really don't get some of these coingen launches & it wouldn't take much to have something working for over a year (last week was 1 year, thought about having a give a way & have spent more time helping in crypto than most do in there full time jobs? I have made less than a penny or cent an hour if you calculate how many hours I've spent trying to help, aside from mining that is). As they say on many other coins, development without some kind of funding is almost a certain failure & the few that have tried to help FIRE didn't have anymore time or money to waste (I have all the time in the world, but having a bad back & no money to help isn't going to get FIRE anywhere). Wish it weren't true, but that's the facts & only a current or new person / group can get FIRE anywhere Undecided

// I could spend 100's of hours updating the ANN, website, github & maybe a few other things. It still wouldn't do any good without others helping out, someday maybe FIRE will get it's chance Undecided
412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi probably started a new coin. on: July 03, 2015, 07:36:26 AM
Too many LOLs in your post, but anyway....

1. Satoshi lost his keys during development... while bitcoin was still worthless.
2. Satoshi got depressed, because bitcoin not worth anything to him anymore... he couldn't mine anymore because of the difficulty increase.
3. Start a new coin... and mine it early to get rich once again ! LOL.

1. Satoshi was smart and intelligent enough to invent Bitcoin. Surely he can handle wallet backups and secure his private keys? This is a no-brainer.
2. Point doesn't stand because point 1 doesn't stand.
3. Bytecoin? Cheesy  Remember the bug that created 184 Billion Bitcoins? Now Bytecoin has 184 Billion total coin supply. Probably Satoshi wanted to give a subtle sign that he was working on Bytecoin now? /JOKE

Wonder how many will look into this hint of bytecoin (you never know about them jokes, sometimes they have meaning to them), not many people can see past all the 1000's of alternative's over the years (most of the originals have a set purpose though, scrypt & many other algorithms)? Depending on how much time one spends on learning this new world of crypto (knowledge is key), seeing the world is not just Windows & Mac/Apple anymore. We now have 100's of Operating Systems, several web browsers, millions of applications & many more things that I could go into detail on... I'm just an uneducated nobody though (Autodidacticism), took over a year (16+ hours a day, 7 days a week of just doing research) in crypto to actually see that it will change the world (look past all the bad news, you'll see more good things it can change)...

How big is the mintcoin wallet/blockchain right now?

I don't know, but it takes forever to sync...

Not if you keep a backup of the entire appdata folder, SD cards are getting cheaper everyday & storing a complete backup of everything once a week/month is something I would strongly recommend. Hardware wallets are even more simplified, if they were to come prebuilt with a simple link right on the desktop. Showing the wallet.dat file location, also a text (+ a video would be 10x better for the entire world, google or bing translate would work though. Just might not be as easy to follow as a video, as translations are often not 100% correct at times?) with detailed instructions on using the MINT client. I have actually talked about keeping the spec's of what it takes to run the wallet, just like you would with any other software. Detailed CPU/RAM/HDD needed to run is something that should be in the OP, some will be different & take more depending on the addresses/staking/etc... A minimum requirement is kind of a standard in software, wouldn't hurt to have it on the OP & website though.

// I also sent a message to the mintcointeam account with an update to the block explorer list, adding PressTab's block explorer to the OP. Great work, nice to see another place to find all the charts/info one is looking for & even a few new features Cool

https://github.com/TestingCrypto/ANN-OP-Thread-BBcode/commit/6481dfd29219d9a82f4eddefad9000eda84d5ee5

P.S. If it takes a few minutes to start the client with an wallet.dat from over a year ago, it does help to create a new wallet & transfer everything over. Since starting the client searches from the newest to the oldest (not 100% sure, but testing looks like it does pull from new to old?), so having a wallet closer to the top of the chain does help.

What's the min stake age? It's not written on the OP.

20 days, will add it to the OP code & PM the mintcointeam account with an update.

nStakeMinAge = 60 * 60 * 24 * 20;   // minimum age for coin age: 20d
nStakeMaxAge = 60 * 60 * 24 * 40;   // stake age of full weight: 40d
nStakeTargetSpacing = 30;         // 30 sec block spacing

416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many friends did you recommend bitcoin to? Did they accept it? on: June 14, 2015, 04:12:02 PM
In my opinion a big factor that most seem to miss is the fact that people tend to think that they missed the boat and now it's to late to join...

yup. my succesful attempts at convincing others to join the bitcoin community was before the price dropped to the 400$ ish. now when they compare the current price to the price back in 2013-2014 most people will think that BTC is dying.

BTC isn't dying, many people who have done their due research on many altcoins (mining decreased say a 1/10th or even 1/100th, showing several times how the mining effects BTC or any altcoins)... Something testnet couldn't show real world affects (people hold or sell isn't possible in testing via testnet), watching the mining phases will show you how BTC might just play out. Again there's no sure research, but if you take a small scale of BTC & look for similarities Wink You don't have to be a rocket sci... to see, just research the alts which are scaled down & accelerated compared to BTC Cool

P.S. I had a few conversations with friends about BTC & altcoins, but was still learning at the time (really hope they didn't make any rash decisions). I'm glad that I didn't recommend it to most, but only because it wasn't ready to be recommended & still needs time to develop (which I didn't know then). To me buying BTC right now is like buying an item you have to learn how to even use & would take more effort/time than the current things we use today (money, contracts, invoices, tokens, time stamped ledger, & so many more things that are just being talked about). If I was to have a conversation with someone who is unbanked or has to go great lengths to make transactions in everyday life, then yes I would fully recommend crypto technology.
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FIRE] FireCoin - 97K <PoW - 150K >POS - Rebuilding on: June 14, 2015, 12:06:42 AM

For the ones who see & know what rare specs to look for in a coin, here's FIRE's to date:

Total blocks:    60048
Synchronized blocks:    60048 (100.00000000 %)
Total transactions:    120671
Total coins:    97856.62985808 FIRE
POW coins:    97496.02194000 FIRE (99.62713093 %) << PoW Ended 3 days after if I recall right
POS coins:    364.89308736 FIRE (0.37286907 %) <<Here's where the math comes in for PoS  Cool
Total send amount:    1459278.17679470 FIRE
Total receive amount:    1459273.84894470 FIRE
Total fee amount:    4.32785000 FIRE
Total used addresses:    4942
Total funded addresses:    428
Total empty addresses:    4514

// 1 coin or 1 Billion coins all calculate the same if implemented right (see it all the time over the years), but in my own research & seeing people seem to want the big # (with 8 decimals & some more, it's beyond me why more would catch peoples eyes)? There are chains with what a possible supply would demand (say an item or key codes of merchandise as an example), then chains with less & useful for a specific design. That's just what I see with many of these, but no one wants to be transparent & I have seen why many times over the years. Still seeing this could help the world in so many ways, but we have to get past certain learning curves Undecided

Maybe you guys should increase pos annual % for the attracting high pos lovers? Let's say 50 - 100% per annum.
Even with 100% per annum, this will be a rare coin because will need more than 5 years to reach the mark of 1 million coins. I would love to buy a rare coin with 100% per annum. (I have DMD coins in my porfolio with 50% per annum and rare.)

It will never reach 1 mil, 150,000 FIRE is the max & that will take over a decade (Github Link to the Max supply). The specs on FIRE seem to be more for a certain rarity, adding more coins would not only hurt the people that bought in on the launch of FIRE (100k sats). It would would make it almost impossible to help anyone who bought in on the second launch of FIRE, but that's just what I see here & I could be wrong.

Sorry I haven't been keeping this updated, if you would like a more detailed list please check out my other list of 1,324 coins here

This looks like fun, I have a template code that I spent some time on months ago & could give you a hand with this?

Edit: I even tried to do this upon creation of this account, as one who was tired of having to search everywhere to find anything worth reading Wink

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=758432.msg8551941#msg8551941

P.S. That was still learning & now there are so many ways to code it, making it very user friendly. Create a good table with rows/columns & make all the names link to either forum or website.

I've tested the Dragon Knight v1 & v2 (great game), but really missed seeing the work put into this > http://cryptodatabase.net/coins-a

*Well done, sure that took a lot of hard work to piece them all in & think it's somewhere over 2000+ by now. There's another site, can't seem to find it in my 1000+ of favorite links, but it has every crypto & how they originated.

@cryptomommy
Thanks for updating the OP. Although i was asking for a poll like one i linked to in my previous post. May be mintcointeam can do that. Again here is the link.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1019681.0
Above thread has a poll attached to it. Can we have something like that?

@ZeitKnight
Thanks for the helping hand with explaining the problem and getting the discussion forward Smiley

Something like that only works with a MOD'd thread (not 100% sure, been a while since working on the TECH one), anyone can open a new thread up & create one. A countless # (49 days, 2 hours & 47 minutes of reading) of threads read on here have been people even copy & pasting the OP, when they are rebuilding / etc... I could even PM you with some well coded OP for it, which I use to venture out & find Original Post to work on, but lost the trust in not knowing who I'm even working with (volunteering for). Anyone can create a fake name, I've used my real one in PM's for well over a year & for the reason of seeing this actual be something other than just another fad as they say (this is just the first years of software & hardware accelerated, but many seem to enjoy the caveman/women style of life?). Change the world for good, because it's getting harder & harder each & every day to live in the world we have created over the centuries. The funny thing is I would post in so many threads on thoughts (the mind changes so quickly though), but I offered to help with the OP & cryptomommy was very honest. Asked me to join Trello (left only because of being to busy at the moment in life), which I seen all kinds of great work being done by several people of the community (that should be in the OP & website, the same as all these new Slack over IRC users?).

Updated PM sent with the BBcoding for the OP has been sent to mintcointeam account, it's on github ~here~ if anyone wants to look over the code & push the update for all the broken links. Actual updates were pushed to git & PM'd almost a month ago for all the broken links in the OP, just FYI. Updates can be done to the OP code, but I can't actually make the update & as everyone sees that's how crypto works.
