...and I was either too dense or not paying enough attention to pick up the subtle. Tx for splainin'.

402  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 09, 2013, 11:26:58 AM
But he still needs to talk to a team who are working like crazy to get us hashing. He has no authority he is a mouthpiece only

Agreed and the last time they missed a self imposed timeline, he(the mouthpiece) posted a "I got nothin'" and there was a sell off.

Edit: Let me put this another way. LC agreed to lock their shares and show evidence that they'd done so, but this did not happen. The same people can easily cause a crash in the share price by simply failing to do what they say they will. That does not smell real good.
403  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 09, 2013, 11:16:25 AM
I don't get the fuzz.

I've been involved with allot of IT projects. with tight deadlines
Most of the times it was working throughout the night and really almost no time to even sleep.
Considering Labcoin is quite a small team. i would be even impressed if they can make the deadline exactly on time.
Remember the IC's and PCB's were delivered just 2 weeks ago. and the thumb rule is, everything that can go wrong will most likely Smiley
I bet their working their asses off right now trying to get it stable and hashing.

Even a batch of resistors who have bigger tolerance than expected can trow off the deadline, result all the boards must be re-soldered with another batch of resistors.

...but THEY are setting these timelines. Also THEY have a guy that lacks technical skillz but whose (only?) job is to liaise with shareholders. It's beyond dumb to set timelines of your own choosing and then miss them. While they haven't done that in this instance yet, they have done this in the past and TOO BUSY doesn't cut it, because they have a guy whose job description is talking.
404  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread on: September 09, 2013, 11:08:50 AM
But this is ActiveMining we're talking about. They can obviously get it much cheaper in the U.S than someone from china can get it in China..lets not worry about the cost of power either

Obviously. Umm...why?

Because it's cheaper in China, shipping is cheaper, and power is cheaper

Is there a typo here? Sorry, I'm still not seeing what was previously described as "obvious".
405  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 09, 2013, 11:01:11 AM
If only they had a PR guy so these things could be attended to in a timely fashion...
406  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: eASIC Fast Hash One Platinum 24TH/s miner announced - $353777 on: September 09, 2013, 10:54:17 AM
Smiley Let the record show...

Cheers.
407  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: mini rig setup need help! on: September 09, 2013, 10:46:07 AM
Just keep restarting the mining software until all 0 - 7 show up. This happens all the time and is not the fault of the mining software or external hardware. The same behavior occurs for me whether in linux or windoze, whether using cgminer or bfgminer. Think they got the internal USB hub from kmart and the engines themselves can be flakey. Enjoy the heatwave when all 8 engines are nice and toasty. Smiley
408  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: eASIC Fast Hash One Platinum 24TH/s miner announced - $353777 on: September 09, 2013, 10:39:57 AM
Keep your eye on the website. I hear the prices may be dropping as they get closer to release...

 Wink

It will be a wise move because actually they are selling a GHs/ for 14.5$... way too high for a product that will be available from Nov/Dec at the earliest.

edit1: e.g. btcmine.ch starting from September the 9th (20:00 CET) will sell chips/miners staring from 5$ per Gh/s to a maximum of 8$ per Gh/s (1600$ - 200Gh/s)

Another pre order. Sell now, deliver in December... Thanks but no...

I do agree we're all fed up with pre-order ASIC vendors,
I was merely pointing out that in either case, you like the pre-order scheme or not, VMC prices seem ARE WAY too high.

FTFY

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! Grin

Cheers!

...and may the hash be with us all!
410  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: September 09, 2013, 10:32:34 AM
Do you think any of the other shipping ASIC vendors (friedcat, yifu or bfl) would match that if they were (60-360 days) late ?!

(YES, NO, NO)

It would appear that miners now have a second reliable vendor to choose from. Thanks Dave, keep up the great work.
411  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs announcing new preorder marketplace on: September 09, 2013, 05:00:46 AM
BFL never said the would self mine, where is the proof of that?

Agreed. BFL never said they would self mine. I have no proof that they never said they would self mine. How could I possibly have proof of what they never said?

The burden of proof is on those that make the claim.

Did BFL make the claim they are NOT mining the equipment?
Is there evidence that have mined with it?

It's not possible to provide proof of what an entity never said.

Read the question.

DID they make the claim?

If they did is there evidence to support they lied about it?

Read it. Didn't make it past the assertion that someone should be required to prove a negative. It's not possible, so I did not respond to what followed.

I have no idea if they made the claim that they are NOT mining the equipment. I know that before they "shipped" they made the claim that they WOULD NOT mine the equipment on main net. I know too that BFL reps attempt to deceive whenever they attempt communicate so I'd likely consider anything said by such to be without merit, unless and until proven otherwise.

413  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Did i just get Fucked by BFL on: September 09, 2013, 03:41:19 AM
Yes. BFL's ceo laid this bit of wisdom on his fans later in the same thread. Remember, this is the here in which the buck stops, the head cheese, the top dog...

Having a 100% error-free production line, means around several thousand employees in several different companies must function as precise as atomic clocks do, with absolutely no human-error. Even robots cannot achieve that, let alone humans. We will do our best to make sure a huge number of products get shipped everyday.

Nasser

I figure that was just a typo and he must have meant a huge number with a decimal in front of it.

His response with regard to the slowed down, but not slowed downin any way minirig production line was way better:

Hello EvilLizardApparel,

Just wanted to let you know that MiniRig line was not slowed down in any way, we were just waiting for new boards to arrive to the facility.

Nasser

That's an instant BFL doublespeak classic right there.

Dear Techkojj,
To address your concern, production of jalapenos have not been halted, and we have been producing them at very high-speed1 since the beginning (as it's easier to assemble)
Thanks,
Nasser

1 Relatively speaking. Expect your order in "two weeksTM".

FTFY. Gotta CYA bro. Cheesy

New rule: no one can quote Stuart. Ever.

Fail.

Everyone knows he's on mass ignore, yet they quote him anyway.
419  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs announcing new preorder marketplace on: September 08, 2013, 11:47:24 PM
BTW, I gotta believe for every one miner that the new ASIC vendors ship, they're gonna put 6, 8, or 10 on line for themselves.  It's a good use of their NRE paid by pre-orders.

Sounds legit. BFL self mine - check. Avalon self mine - check. Bitfury self mine - check. Only one of these actually conducted themselves with integrity. Bitfury announced months ago they'd be self mining their hardware, the other two specifically said they would not mine main net with customer gear.
420  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PCB Design for Cointerra on: September 08, 2013, 10:05:32 PM
Agree with b 100%. While a single chip .5Th/s solution sounds great, the heat density is an engineering challenge that didn't need to be tackled when time to market is what really counts. While all the 28nm vendors to date are going to have to expend resources working on this issue, a passively cooled bitfury rig at 55nm is now the efficiency king and will likely remain so for at least a few months and if they can shrink that die and decrease power consumption further then they'll really put a hurtin' on the other vendors. I'll take their pedestrian looking "deck of cards rig" with it's impressive specs now over an aesthetically pleasing rig with a necessarily elaborate cooling system next January. Actually I'll take two.
