In a good way I hope? I have a feeling these companies are going to have some crazy prices once they hash, and btc price is going to go nuts in a few months. The aftermath will destroy a few of these companies though, not sure which its all a gamble at the moment. I think one thing will be certain, bitcoins price itself after the mayhem ahead will be rather high. To be honest I can't wait. :p

I've been lapping up ActM at these low prices, though I think I've reached my limit now. You never know exactly what will happen.... The Bitcoin price itself I have no idea about. There are too many factors at play. I think that if other countries follow Germany's lead, we are going to see significantly higher levels of investment in the Bitcoin economy which will, of course, lead to higher prices. It's going to be interesting whatever happens.

Just beaware that ActiveMining may drop a lot in September. I can't buy anymore because I have invested as much as I am allowing myself for risky investments (I have some Labcoin too) I could sell and buy Active lower but in my opinion its not worth the risk. It might not get super low so I am just waiting it out. But one thing is certain, before our ASIC is hashing their will be FUD left, right and center in this thread so don't be too disheartened if for a while the investment is down. (I am down at the moment which is very crap) Also there's the chance labcoin and active are scams or vaporware, in which case its an expensive lesson for me.

Stolen designs.... JimmyJazz, good ideas. +1
But if this really is a 1718% markup business ($1.50 per Gh), this party can not last for long. How soon can we expect cheap chinese copies (stolen designs) to hit the market? Next 6 month's are going to be interesting.

I'm also down - I hit even at 0.003656208 as excel reliably informs me. I'm confident on ActM though.

So what do people expect the share price to be if everything goes to plan? 0.04? Also dividends, could we take in 50,000btc a month?

Look at the difficulty I bet we haven't seen anything yet. 116+ by Decembe will not surprise me at all. Coin from mining will be only a temporary boost. They really need to sell the shit out of those rigs and chips before they become "obsolete" in 8-12 months. If diff keeps soaring, the hardware price hast to start falling soon. Same happens to profits form mining.

I guess that all the companies are in the same boat. However ActM are one of the few who will have the best technology available to carry on until the difficulty becomes to much. This is why I think it is very important for the company to look towards even better technologies ASAP.
However, ActM are also in a stronger position as they can buy these miners at the cost of manufacture. Making them more profitable and easy to acquire for a longer period.
I hope ActiveMining put alot more work into the promotion of the products and building a strong brand image. Also focusing on competitive pricing and simple product offering.

Just for the record, friedcat has said that his gen 1 chips cost ~$10,000 per TH/s or $10 per gh/s.

In order to prevent stolen designs and if middlemens are needed the middlemen only should get the info they have to know, that does not include the design of the chip. The foundry itself should be the only receiving the chip design. The foundry cant give that away without risking its business. Just for the record, friedcat has said that his gen 1 chips cost ~$10,000 per TH/s or $10 per gh/s.
Thats the price for the running miner, in case someone thinks thats only for the ASIC's.

But this is ActiveMining we're talking about. They can obviously get it much cheaper in the U.S than someone from china can get it in China..lets not worry about the cost of power either

OK, this is makes more sense than 1.50 This changes the fictional Markup to 170 % and Cross margin to 63.00% and fictional number of units will go up to 2600. How many units did BFL manage do send out per week? Was it around 200? What about Asicminer? PS! Huh... I just can not resist, I have to say this: Made in China = shit
