401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FAIR] GOOD NEWS Mintpal FAIR in hands of Faircoin dev team on: November 21, 2014, 01:44:31 PM
Hi,

just processed the 4th batch.

This one was run an hour later because I added an extra check to the distribution software. It will refuse to send coins to any of the bad alcurex lost wallet addresses. So, we are safe there  Smiley

Again, still over 7,000,000 FAIR waiting for their owners. Sign up now for the next round!

Any chance to take 40k fairs from there to get into bittrex?

No! All of these 7M FAIR have an owner, so we won't touch them at this time.

The coins that we received from MintPal are fairly hot material. Before even considering any form of usage other than returning them to their rightful owners, they'll have to be cleared by the legal department of the Fair.coop. And then it even depends on the country you live in. Here in the Netherlands crypto's are considered trade goods, in the US they are property which you have to pay taxes over.

So there's no point in even discussing this (unless you're a lawyer with experience in crypto's). It'll probably be years before we have to think about giving these coins another destination.

Interesting slideshare about virtual goods:
http://www.slideshare.net/jaspurewal/the-use-and-legal-status-of-virtual-goods-and-currencies

Drakandar: read the first pharagraph of the Fair.Coop definition, here https://fair.coop/faircoop/

"Fair.coop is an open global cooperative, self-organized via the Internet and remaining outside nation-state control"

Fair Coop is not going to declare anything because we dont give legitimacy to governement to control us. FairCoop dont have legal entity, and not can be denuncied in a legal process. If any government wants to ask, they can ask to me, hehe  Cheesy

We are working for a further, global economic and social alternative and not care about this old politics things  Wink

I was going to suggest to create a FEDERAL RESERVE for those 7 million coins, but i am glad to see that the Fair.coop still stands for what it should be.  Shocked

I want to remind everyone that we are possibly left with only one option - lawsuit. Ferdous is claiming that there is enough evidence to win this thing and take back all the remaining funds that Ryan haven't already sold and liquidate his assets to compensate all victims losses. Ferdous has already done enormous work and spend a lot of money on this, but he can't do it alone. What it takes from all of us is a combined effort to pay for the remaining legal fees. In a month time only 23 BTC out of 75 were raised. Only two dozen donations were made and most of the sum was donated by one person, it seems. But what about others? There are many of us who have lost a substantial amount (up to 100 or more BTC) there (my loss - 16 BTC). Are you willing to let Ryan take them and just walk away as if nothing happened? You have begged him, insulted him, cursed him, threatened him and what came of it? We have the last chance to do it right and make him pay. But we are running out of time. The more we wait, the less our chances to succeed. Go back to the first page and look at the photo. Do you want this crook to have your money? I don't. If all of us will donate just 1 or 2 % of our losses, then we can raise the remaining 50 BTC and probably more. To make it easier for you folks I'm willing to donate 16 BTC myself on top of my previous donation month ago. It leaves just 35 BTC left. If even that is too much to ask then we are probably not deserving those money in the first place and are totally deserving to be scammed by Ryan and alike. If you don't think so and are willing to join my effort, pm me.

How about asking the bitcoin foundation for this?

Those assholes have thousands of bitcoins up their ass.

Yeah i know they have "owners", but i also know a few million from them will be unclaimed.

Thanks but offer price 0.00002 is too much for our "zero profit" exchange pay right now.
Can some one offer 22600 FAIRs for us with price 0.00001, so we can cover our locked FAIR wallet for coin holders?

I see you've (?) placed a buy order of 22600 FAIR on your exchange for 0.00001000 BTC each at https://alcurex.org/. That might be good way to solve this.
If you are in a hurry, you may want to duplicate this offer on https://www.vaultex.io/ as well.

It shouldn't be too long before either of them will get fulfilled. Especially since 7.000.000+ coins have been fairly returned to their owners now. There's a lot more coin on the market again. Some people are happy with the results (probably bought in at the low hundreds) and are selling now, while others hold onto their FairCoin - knowing who we are and are awaiting the next events to unroll.

Well drakandar, when you say "some" you are refering to ONE guy that sold too low yesterday, right?
I dont would able to get a general conclusion about people able to sell at so low, with that tiny market
Also was one guy buying at 3600 on monday, and this dont means anything, more than this are very tiny markets and who wants to sell there needs to go low
and who wants to buy needs to go up....

i am buying / selling OTC around 2500 from october, and if anyone needs to get in or out a big amount and is in this thread knows that exist this way....

anyway, i agree that alcurex could try this way, to put low buy orders and wait if someone fill it...
Agree that the low price is not good for FAIR or any coin.
I need to get those coins low price because our low capital.
I'm not making profit with my low buy, just cover coins we can't get out of wallet.
Not for me or alcurEX, but for the customers = FAIR supporters.
For that reason I hope some one can fill my 22600FAIR price 0.00001 buy order on alcurEX. Smiley
I think your buy order got filled now @Vaultex.

So we are standing somewhere after the Pump but still before the Dump.

Smart people are allready selling before the last step happens.

Why sell now when u can buy maybe now and w8 for price goes up and then sell it.
I think that price is still low so it would be wise to buy not to sell.

I think price will keep going down, will wait and see.

Just curious.

Ordinary men and women are too small-minded to govern their own affairs, that order and progress can only come when individuals surrender their rights to an all-powerful sovereign.

Ferdous is the one seeking justice against Ryan. Ferdous was raped big time by Ryan that got him to invest in buying Mintpal. We know what happened then. So now he hired a lawyer firm (same as Syscoin's team) to attack Ryan and try to get back control of V2, and hopefully force the BTC back.

I chatted a bit with Ferdous. And as far as I know, he is probably the one who lost more in this affair, and he is pretty fair. There is not that much serious effort done to recover stolen money - and Ferdous case is a solid attempt, and I support it.

If we want to fight back, we have to fight the right target.

Completely agree.  I understand that he had a lot invested and a shit ton on his hands at the present moment.  I do however, feel like there is a whole bunch of people who are not involved with that process due to headache, and fishyness of donating more money to a cause that little is known about.  I think the correct way to go about fundraising for Fedorous (he seems very popular, I have no idea his history/who he is) is to at minimum have a central place for the donations, and legal updates. This is fine, but messagesget lost.If he had weekly updates, a website, for this whole process, i bet more people come forward and more people are down to donate to the legal fund. I follow on twitter and stuff, and I want to see Alex go down, but nobody is getting my donations without a face, and not a picture, i am sure others feel the same way. Too much scamming, time for 100% accountability before my shit goes places now.

LET'S GET THIS STRAIGHT: WHEN YOU INVEST OR AND OPEN UP A BUSINESS THERE IS ONE FIRST RULE: YOU ARE GAMBLING AND THINGS COULD GO WRONG.
NOW IT COMES THE SECOND RULE: YOU DO NOT ASK YOUR CLIENTS FOR MONEY TO RECOVER THE LOSS OF YOUR BUSINESS, REGARDLESS WHAT YOUR SITUATION WAS(NOT ENOUGH CLIENTS, WRONG LOCATION, GOT SCAMMED, ETC..)
FERDOUS INVESTED IN MINTPAL TO MAKE MONEY, AND IT WENT WRONG, AND I DON'T CARE WHAT THE SITUATION WAS.
AS MUCH AS I FEEL SORRY FOR THE MINTPAL SITUATION I THINK IS COMPLETELY OUT OF PLACE TO ASK US FOR MONEY FOR A LAWYER.

BUT HEY, EVERYONE IS FREE TO DO WHATEVER THEY WANT, IF YOU ALL FEEL LIKE IS RIGHT TO SEND BTC'S TO GET HIM A LAWYER THEN GO AHEAD I GUESS.
I AM NOT SENDING ANYTHING.

MAN MAKES THE MONEY, MONEY NEVER MAKES THE MAN.

Since when is using a btc exchange equally as risky as gambling??
There is no excuse for theft, it's not even in the same realm as money lost by voluntary  gambling

Since when is using a btc exchange equally as risky as gambling??   For me since early this year with the cryptorush theft, but for many others even earlier since Karpelles theft.
In some cases gambling is safer atm.

why not try to list it on Bleutrade? It's the best platform for  trading altcoins althought it is not popular so far,imo bittrex may be just the next mintpal for it is so shady on those ico from nowhere, any coin that list on bleutrade can immediately related to another 70+ altcaoins there,by that mean you can trade faircoin not only with bitcoin, you can also trade it with another 70+ coins ,for those who interesting to know about bleutrade may use the link below:

https://bleutrade.com/exchange/7555

Hi James,

I totally opt-in for decentralization, however the Team's focus will now be on getting on a major exchange (Bittrex).
Feel free to support/promote FairCoin on Bluetrade. As you have witnessed; with a good talk you can get a long way Smiley

To add to that; every exchange unfortunately (I know of) could be a potential MintPal... Unless someone creates a decentralized exchange (which should be possibly given all cryptocoins are decentralized, http://www.metalair.org/ might be interesting to follow) or you are in fact owner of the private key of your exchange's wallet, we're stuck with the model that the interwebs offers now.

you could get faircoin added to MGW if you want a decentralized exchange with close to zero fee

I think Bittrex will be the place to be, donations are coming in quick and hope we can get the rest in the next few days.

https://blockchain.info/address/1KGzQzr8MxwPrqyJoTCCb2J1njP4EeBZpF

And yes, any exchange could and i am sure it will be the next Cryptorush/Mintpal/etc ...
Just don't leave a bunch of coins in an exchange if you want to hold, better cold storage  Shocked

If any of you have Fluttercoin stuck in Mintpal - please read your emails - we got those coins back and will ask for valid FLT address to send you back.  It's a good day for us - and hope there will be more good days soon for all of you.

In my opinion, best to do at the moment is helping legal action here www.mintpaljustice.com

Let's put this criminal down.

75btc donation? Seriously?
Who is going to put this criminal down with all that money? Batman?

I will Ninja his ass for 50BTC. No sweat.

Haha well for sure some head hunter would do the trick for less then that.  But I guess most of us prefer to use the legal path, even if its an expensive path.

I thought a few people started legal actions, and there is plenty of really good lawyers out there that will work for commission once the case is won.
If they know they can win the case they will take the job.
Now seriously: who is behind this 75btc bounty?
