If you can underclock the mem to 300mhz... you can probably squeeze 950mhz out of the core! Good luck!

Burned myself of a few CPUs/GPUs thinking they were cool enough to touch... Actually cut open my finger by tripping it through a 4,000 RPM 150CFM fan ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Have yet to electrocute myself, but that's probably coming.

Hello,
I was not aware of that deepbit long polling issue as I don't use deepbit, but I will investigate that.
As for queue depth, I will increase that, but I have no plans to make it configurable.
hashkill is amazing and terrific! Among all the miners, hashkill is the fastest! HD 5870, clock: 850 Under SDK v2.4 phoenix -k phatk : 358.88 Mhash/sec hashkill -D -G4 : 379 Mhash/sec But there is one problem: I have also encoutered the "Long polling failure" when using deepbit.net; But when using btcmine.com, everything seems to be fine. BTW, i wonder if there could be a switch to control the time waiting (default is 20 sec) when disconnected or error occured. It could just be all of the DDoS stress that deepbit.net has been under lately :S

Sounds pretty radical to me... If it were possible, it would mean much greater things for the world than free bitcoin mining ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

So I have the over/under clocking down pat...
I can get a 5870 running at 950core/300mem up to ~420Mhash stable/running for days on a linux mining rig.
I can get the card up to 1000core/300mem (and push ~450Mhash) but only for a few minutes at most before the entire machine freezes up.
I assume that the cards need more power to function perhaps? The temperatures are just fine... In the 75Celcius range since it is a cool room.
Any idea how I can keep the cards at 1000core/300mem for an extended period of time? It does not make sense to me that they could sustain it for a few minutes.. with a decent temperature... but not for longer.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have had good experiences with OCZ...

It was your fault for shutting down Bitcoin and then not waiting for it to catch up when you restarted it.
Now now it's nobody's fault! He is just a new miner curious as to where his bitcoins are. Don't worry OP, they are on their way I am sure of it. 2,000+ miners can't be wrong.

I have a feeling that a $200 12k BTU AC is much crappier/warmer than a $400 12k BTU AC... so be careful! I have looked into portable ACs as well and it seems that the less you pay.. the worse quality you receive. As in it's not actually 12k BTUs worth of cold for example.

I dont have enough cash to warrant investing in something that might possibly be worth zilch tomorrow.
I know that my computer hardware will still be worth something tomorrow.
I would say that the speculating "economists" are the rubes.

I have xfx 5870s.... they do 950 quite easily and about 420 mhash with no voltage tweaking.

The pcie slots look very well spaced... I think it should work well.

Short pins A1 and B17.... trust me, it works.
There is a picture on the above linked to blog post.

Incredible! There is something about a large miner that excites me greatly... I think it's called greed ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

Yesterday, BTC was valued 9.5 USD/BTC. Last night it reached a high of 11 USD/BTC. This morning it was 14.2 USD/BTC.
What is up with this?
The entire Bitcoin economy is going to crash. Any day now.
Bold words! I highly doubt it...

Check it out if you are looking for a little extra hashing power! http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250830704183No reserve. Free ground shipping within north america. (Option to add air shipping for $20). Auction ends in less than 72 hours. Hardly used! (I am selling because electrical consumption is not an issue for me, and this card is valued so high generally for it's great Mhash/watt ratio.) Please ask any questions you have in this thread.

You're not the first to have come up with such a theory.
It's only a matter of time until mining moves to special-purpose chips. So ATI's total profit from the whole thing is limited.
Brought it up personally almost 1 month ago... and I wasn't the first either https://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=7310.0
