401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2020 the year of Bitcoin technology getting accepted by governments on: January 29, 2020, 02:45:55 AM
I am also sure that this year there will be many countries starting to accept bitcoin technology, namely the blockchain, although many
countries will still be maintain its old principles. Because in my opinion if the country does not keep up with technological developments
then the country can be left behind. We can see China as an example, China is a country that hates cryptocurrency. Especially bitcoin,
but now it is policy they change. Without any doubt the Chinese government supports blockchain technology and makes their own crypto
coins. And this will happen to the country others because sooner or later blockchain technology must be used, especially for financial
transactions. order is more transparent and effective.

Indeed China is leading by changing its policies in order to use blockchain and use its own cryptocurrency. Many other countries (governments) won't like to be left behind and will do the same. That is something we saw before with the internet.
402  Economy / Economics / Re: Does China Control Bitcoin? on: January 28, 2020, 11:03:07 PM
China has a lot of mining companies, My guess is that electricity might be cheaper there than other places. But other than that China itself is not the one controlling bitcoin network. Bitcoin has PoW and so far I don't know if there will be PoS in bitcoin code if so that will change the history of mining btc.
403  Economy / Economics / Countries with banks to buy and sell cryptocurrencies on: January 28, 2020, 10:58:10 PM
Banks in Germany started to allow people to buy and sell cryptocurrencies this January 2020. I think other countries will do the same soon, Japan might be another country with such services. In the beginning, someone has to start something so others can follow suit.

What are the other countries where anyone legally can buy/sell cryptos at commercial centralized banks?
404  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Cryptocurrency threatens governments on: January 28, 2020, 10:54:16 PM
The reason is that crypto is backed up by mathematics, algorithms, and computers, FIAT money which is controlled by governments are basically backed up by politicians, centralized banks, only a few people behind ruling FIAT money.
405  Other / Serious discussion / Re: The risk of investing in cryptocurrency on: January 28, 2020, 10:51:41 PM
You can only lose if you sell at loss. If you are at loss just hold the damn coins. If you cannot hold the coins it means you invested more than you can afford to lose so
deserve it.

I spoke with a trader who is involved in commodities. He told me Bitcoin and crypto in general is at the acceptable level of volatility. It's just traders with no experience or
traders that are professional on stock or forex only that complain about volatility. Crypto assets are fine as long as you know what you do

There is possibility that Bitcoin price will never come back that high, so yes, it's possible but highly unlikely that your money is lost forever.

It might be a matter of time for bitcoin to reach another all-time high, we have seen passed 2 years after the last all-time high December 2017.  The halving is coming and that event can trigger another move in high price!

406  Economy / Economics / Re: what should consider before investing in a coin? on: January 28, 2020, 10:41:26 PM
Before investing in a coin you need to consider if the team behind the project has a good reputation, but most importantly the team/project should be willing to solve a real problem.

An important thing to check is that the team are having regular updates and are working full time, there were so many projects that were made quick and abandoned later with zero support!
407  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Are you a citizen of the world? on: January 28, 2020, 10:08:47 PM
1) Yes
2) Yes
3) Yes
4) Yes

Nowadays people can travel and work away from home thanks to the internet if they are freelancers of course! but there are still so many slaves working every day in the same office, thinking that that is the only way to do things!

The new slavery is working doing the same thing every day in the same place.
408  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advantages of having an account on bitcointalk on: January 28, 2020, 10:01:05 PM
This forum is good for learning and sharing good info to newbies or anyone willing to learn, apply knowledge or even earn money if they can help people solving problems.
So far this forum is a top one among others. To me, it is like the central hub for cryptos.
409  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Please clear my doubt. on: January 28, 2020, 09:11:45 PM
I don't think that it is free, because when you send btc to another btc account in the Coinbase platform, Coinbase is only a management platform, the btc or any other cryptocurrency are running in their respective blockchains. thus a fee has to be paid for any tx you make, that fee is what miners get paid for verifying tx with their computers.

Even when you send a tx from a native crypto wallet like DeepOnion, when you send ONION you are still paying a fee for the tx.

The fees are the motivation or incentive that keeps the blockchain working, many new and better blockchains are charging very low fees.
410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really still decentralized?? on: January 28, 2020, 08:24:52 PM
What is your thought about this??

* Bitcoin mining is not dead. Just may not be a good business for average Joe. And we get back to the greed part.

I have been working on finding a consensus algo that is easier to participate in mining.
Compared to the high threshold of Bitcoin mining, it may achieve market success.
It may be the fairest and easiest for "average Joe" if normal PC can be used for mining.
Do you have an idea for an algorithm with this characteristic?

One of the coins that you can participate these days with easy mining is ONION, with about 250 ONIONs or less you can PoS mine from your laptop or desktop computer. There are many other altcoins that will allow you to mine via PoS.

BTC might not be fully decentralized yet, but it is in the hands of people to bring back decentralization by using or helping decentralized exchanges, or supporting PoS in bitcoin if that is still possible to implement.

411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2020 the year of Bitcoin technology getting accepted by governments on: January 28, 2020, 08:05:34 PM
Is there any reason for such claims or are you just dreaming out loud?

This idea that blockchain is gonna be used everywhere doesn't make much sense.

Blockchain is a slow and expensive database. Unless you have a very specific problem that blockchain will solve, it shouldn't be used. In most cases, blockchain is not applicable to the problem.

I so t think governments are going to use it everywhere to become more transparent.  There are other way to become more transparent,  which are less expensive.

It is based on information available on the internet, in case you haven't read enough about the topic, it would be great if you read more about governments interested in using blockchain.

There are much better blockchain than bitcoin these days, not sure what source of news you reading, if you refer to btc, yes it is slow but not for a long time, LN is here to solve that issue. It might be expensive if a centralized organization will implement their own blockchain, but if they use or support existing ones then they don't have to spend resources owning all nodes, there is where decentralization takes place when individuals run their own blockchain node.

412  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Who is behind KYC info? Why we don't ask them for KYP? on: January 28, 2020, 07:56:52 PM
Do you have a list of details which we must know about our providers before conducting any business? If not, let me give you one,

1. Legal name
2. Tax ID/SSN/PAN
3. Registered address
4. Details of grievance redressal officer and escalation matrix

Can you think of aything else? Now lets assume the company sells off your data to a third party. What extra will you do apart from going to the consumer protection bureau? Let's be practical!

Don't have any list, this is just a general idea first and sees how it develops with the input of many other clever, thinking, creative minds here!

For the first one you suggested, it should be for both physical person full name, and company/corporation names, and if it is a corporation or business name, which it has a big list of all its members behind, which normally companies have always their member's name hidden, which need to be always upfront available to anyone to verify who they are.

For the second question about what to do when a company is selling people's data... As we know we are still in a new field, where there are few options for the clients to do when things like that happen. But I am sure this will soon be different if people keep talking and bring new ideas to stop the abuser from selling personal data!
413  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll - How did you find out about Bitcointalk? on: January 28, 2020, 07:35:07 PM
A long time ago I was reading all about bitcoin, that was around 2015 when I first discover BTCTalk, It probably was when I started learning bitcoin in general, so I had the necessity to learn every day!
414  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen to Bitcoin if there is a global economic crash? on: January 28, 2020, 06:13:42 PM
Bitcoin is here to stay! And will succeed with or without a crash! if there is a global crash, that is good for bitcoin because bitcoin will have more demand, people will be willing to invest their resources into bitcoin because bitcoin has many good advantages versus FIAT money which has so little benefits.

Atocins and bitcoin will start to grow once the crash arrives! FIAT money is just old, ugly money!!
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2020 the year of Bitcoin technology getting accepted by governments on: January 28, 2020, 05:37:58 PM
2020 will be the year when more governments are going to be including blockchain in their systems to become more transparent and more reliable in order to offer a better service to their citizens.

Why is it that you decided that countries should make their national digital currency on a transparent blockchain? In most states, corruption thrives, which is beneficial to the governments. A transparent blockchain will simply not allow corrupt activities.

Corruption thrives only because the country has a weak government system, in many cases, their citizen does not participate and do not get organized. Transparent blockchain is good for the people, the point is to let people as a society to thrive, not governments! Governments are here to bring solutions not to block progress.
416  Bitcoin / Legal / Who is behind KYC info? Why we don't ask them for KYP? on: January 28, 2020, 05:31:47 PM
We know that centralization is a big problem for society these days, because of its many issues like bureaucracy, inefficiency, corruption, manipulation, data privacy, steal and sale of private information, etc!

KYC is another issue because nobody knows where their info will be ended and who will see it or use it.

The problem with KYC is who is asking for it and what use they will give. There should be a KYP (Know your provider) so far we don't have such a thing! and nobody is thinking about it!

The first step before doing our KYC, we the users should apply KYP and make sure we know who is holding our personal info, the people behind centralized companies need to have their full names and id publicly, they need to be accountable, and transparent. after that, we should proceed to do KYC.

Clever ideas?
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEWB - The crypto market's dirty little secret on: January 28, 2020, 05:15:18 PM

Does it mean that at some point the team will migrate from ETH to its own blockchain? or will remain at ETH and there won't be any swap/migration process for NEWB?

At this time we have no plans to build our own blockchain.  Do bare in mind that we are keeping a close eye on the Chinese Government Central Banks digital currency & Libra.

We have migrated NEWB to one central ETH token.  If you hold either old NEWB_ETH or NEWB_NXT tokens you can swap for the new central ETH token.

NOTE: Sorry for delayed post.

I am trying to create an account here, the link that this team suggested at the first page of this thread: https://coins.newbium.com/post/16650-announcement-making-newb-market-more-simple
but is not working to create new accounts.   Is there any other option to finish doing the swap process? and also when is the deadline for the swap?

418  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are You Afraid of KYC? on: January 28, 2020, 05:09:09 PM
I think it is getting normal when countries/law asking KYC for cryto. It is inevitable.

When legal or government representatives ask for documents, there is nothing wrong with that. The problem is that the verification of KYC is asked by companies that operate in an unregulated market and we are simply not able to check whether they do it with good intentions or not. Unfortunately, but on the cryptocurrency market there were document leaks very often, which can lead to many problems for people whose data is in the hands of criminals.

Nothing wrong with providing personal info, the problem is who is asking for it and what use they will give. There should be a KYP (Know your provider) so far we don't have such a thing!!!! and nobody is thinking about it!!

That would be the first step, then after that KYC!! not just companies asking users personal data!!
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2020 the year of Bitcoin technology getting accepted by governments on: January 28, 2020, 04:42:33 AM
2020 will be the year when more governments are going to be including blockchain in their systems to become more transparent and more reliable in order to offer a better service to their citizens.

Also, BTC will be more popular this year because since 2018 was mentioned a lot if the media, even when they talk in bad way about it, Bitcoin keeps growing, even negative news is good for the network of networks!

So many people are still just knowing bitcoin but can't understand the concept of decentralization yet! they just don't get it! because they have been indoctrinated for decades, and know it is more difficult for them to understand one important word: decentralization!

What's the bottomline?

Blockchain being accepted by governments certainly don't mean that bitcoin will have the same status! Even a lot of countries including China will start their own digital currencies using blockchain. But does that mean, bitcoin will have an impact?

Sure! bitcoin will have an impact, the more people talk and use bitcoin the better future for bitcoin! bitcoin is still in a non-massive adoption yet!

Bottom line is, the more governments use blockchain, the better for btc! BTC is the door of cryptos!
