401  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: March 25, 2024, 07:53:22 AM
As you get involved in the upbringing of a family you lose time to the family and have less free time for your vices and hence they are no longer attractive. This is perpetuated if both parents are involved, if only one is involved, the other will continue their older lifestyle like usual.

Eventually their addiction will relapse but this can be a good impetus to control it and if effectively done can end the addiction for ever.

Still for some it is tough and it will be difficult for them to balance both eventually leading to dysfunctional families.
402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shocking rate of women interested in gambling. on: March 25, 2024, 07:50:41 AM
It turns out that this is their own bait, which they can fall for and end up in an even worse financial situation. Of course, I don’t want to say that everyone won’t succeed, but this will happen to the majority of women who will not be able to stop playing and will bet more and more each time.
This is quite true, although most people will disagree, deep down they understand that the rat-race that humans tend to relate to applies a lot to the growing independency of women. This needs to be kept in check otherwise risky behavior and more mental health issues which are already cropping up will become very prevalent and the life expectancy of women will drop.

Quote
I know the case of one pregnant woman who was addicted, but it’s good that she was able to stop, although she lost quite a lot. She just started telling any fantastic stories so that they would lend her money, even related to her unborn child. Honestly, I wish there were fewer such cases.
That is dark indeed, I hope such things dont happen in future and if they do happen get resolved quickly and effectively with minimal financial losses. Addiction to gambling is not dependent on gender, anyone can get addicted and that is why everyone should keep it in check.

404  Economy / Economics / Re: Early exposure of children to wealth and investments on: March 24, 2024, 09:54:13 AM
Some parents allow their children to do everything so their children are regularly wasting money on useless activities so there is a greater role of parents in carrying out their children and to enhance their skills to live a healthy life.
The parent's role is to moderate their child in spending and pointing out how they could have spent it better after having a sit-down discussion at the end of the day. If the child is not willing to listen, their spending needs to be controlled and eventually they will learn their folly, because they want to buy things for themselves and unless they budget their spending they cannot afford it. It is a bit harsh but important to build their future spending habit.

Eventually as they grow older and get educated enough, investments and inheritance can be introduced to them just like sex education. Grin
405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Still Dead? on: March 24, 2024, 09:50:21 AM
Whenever I see this type of topics which are common after a bullrun correction, I get reminded of the bitcoin obituaries topic by 99bitcoins. Here in the link in case the newer users are not aware of the site:

https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-obituaries/

Bitcoin is definitely suitable as a means of payment. Volatility of price rarely affects the numerical value of the article in BTC, you can do the math yourself and see. But the number of merchants accepting crypto may not be that decent to be proud of, but we are improving on that.

As long as people use bitcoin, it is anything but dead. On the contrary, many altcoins are actually dead.
406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Always check the deposit address on: March 24, 2024, 09:40:58 AM
A wrong move on your part was to take the casino deposit wallet as loan accepting address. We always tell others to use a personal wallet for this and not be in a hurry to start playing. Old deposit addresses are usually retained but you cannot count on the casino to be able to always track them. This is the mistake that could have prevented the entire scenario.

Anyway, since the problem has been resolved, I hope you dont take any more loans to gamble and if you do take them to your own wallet first and then send the money to the casino.
407  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Since 2013 | Longest Running Crypto Casino | 113 BTC Jackpot! on: March 24, 2024, 09:38:42 AM
It's the third time it's happened to me in just the past week. Some might chalk it up to 'tough luck,' but I prefer to see it as an 'inverted win.' After all, if it can happen this way, it's proof that the opposite outcome is possible too. Smiley
It is possible and because we can only select only one side out of the two, our chances are essentially halved and that win goes to the casino. There are also those numbers that dont seem to come even after the regular interval in which they are found but come consecutively in the longer stretch.

So its better to assume that the math of how frequent we expect the numbers to come, is just a math but might not be the reality every time and hence the casino will win in the long run because out bankroll is limited and not infinite to be able to pursue them.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How my gambling life started. on: March 24, 2024, 09:33:04 AM
.. but it is that attitude that makes them vulnerable, as they will only do this once they have a severe problem with their gambling and not before.
Being able to desist the temptation to gamble more and chase losses, needs a lot of self-discipline and the common lack of the same is the reason why the gambling industry flourishes and makes money. Those with underlying mental problems are more prone to become addicted to gambling and often it is difficult to control one another.

They can be controlled if they are willing to stop it themselves and keep themselves busy with something else that they love to do eventually they will lose their interest in gambling and being to move on while being able to save money to repay their debts if any.
409  Local / India / Re: Another Exchange exits Indian Cryptospace - OKX on: March 23, 2024, 01:37:57 PM
On one hand we are seeing another exchange leaving India but on other hand we are seeing that the global crypto exchange KuCoin has become FIU compliant.
So that is a green signal from the Indian regulatory authorities and now KuCoin which is one of the big exchanges will be supporting Indian crypto ecosystem.
It might be that some more exchanges will become FIU compliant in the near future and we will see good resumption of crypto exchanging in India. Possibly OKX did not qualify with their and they had to exit but others might follow through.

More on this as things unfold.
410  Local / India / Re: KuCoin becomes first FIU compliant global crypto exchange on: March 23, 2024, 01:36:35 PM
This is a good news in the midst of the bad news in the Indian sector.

We should be able to use the above exchange without having to worry about legal troubles or anything or that sort. But the government still needs to unban the website first. Grin

The next thing to target would be the hefty fees.
411  Economy / Economics / Re: If being a graduate is the key to being wealthy, why are there poor graduates? on: March 23, 2024, 01:23:40 PM
There are many factors that drive wealth such as education, character, information, energy to do, passion, perverance, endurance, patience, skills, opportunity and consistency in ideas that will bring positive impact and value to the society.
These things drive wealth? Or are you trying to say that these things are important to allow a person to make wealth?

Education will get your the degree but the skills are important, if the person is passionate about that they will excel in it with the proper education and the required skills. Having the above qualities will further allow them to run it for the long term and become successful their way of living.

Also the big names in tech and all maybe dropped education, but they are exceptions and thus should not be taken as the rule.
412  Local / India / Another Exchange exits Indian Cryptospace - OKX on: March 22, 2024, 02:50:18 PM
With the government acting in full force to stop users from exchanging crypto it seems that another exchange has decided to leave the Indian crypto ecosystem <-- if that term makes any sense anymore.

Previously apps of Binance, Kraken were removed from the Indian markets, something that was well observed by many of the fellow members of this local board.

Additionally sites were IP blocked so people had a hard time to access them. It seems the government is hell bent on their attempts to stop crypto transactions, which I guess is because of their knowledge/assumption of illegal activities surrounding crypto.

413  Local / India / Re: Crypto to UPI transaction advice on: March 22, 2024, 02:04:59 PM
I am looking for someone whom I can pay in crypto and he returns the money with UPI to me.
Not sure why you have been PMing some of the members of the forum here about dealing with money in exchange for positive trust score. Trying to run some sting operation from your side?

In either case you will likely not get any takers because it is a bullshit thing to reveal bank account details to an unknown person on the internet. Better to use a P2P exchange to get it done.

And stop PMing users for green trust. Its annoying.
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: in future are you hoping to see some countries in Africa legalis bitcoin. on: March 22, 2024, 02:01:25 PM
bitcoin is a future digital currency, i strongly believes that before BTC celebrate 50 years in existence at least one or two African countries is going to legalis it.
50years is a long time, by that time a lot of things can have changed. If bitcoin is made legal to transact, it would mean a radical change in the government systems would have happened already. It is possible but I dont see much progress at this level.

Quote
because block chain network is expanding every day by day.
Blockchain is a technology that has been used by many companies out there. Its development is actively promoted by governments but not bitcoin.

Quote
and most of the countries in Africa have the knowledge BTC how it works.
It does not work that way. If the government sees something that they dont like but it is already so popular that they cant risk stopping it, they will put it in a grey zone and stop discussions on it.
415  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When is the best time to trade a Bitcoin on: March 22, 2024, 01:50:37 PM
And Bitcoin tends to move more at particular times of the day.
Bitcoin markets run 24x7x365 all the year round without any stop. So this statment does not work on bitcoin, but maybe possible in other speculative markets like stocks and commodities.

Quote
These methods include holding positions over a longer period of time, such as a few days, weeks, or even months.
With the bull run happening every few years, keeping the holding time longer means better profits for everyone. Short term only leads to more losses. Bear markets run long so you have ample opportunity to buy at the low, provided you have not freaked out already.

So the best time is anytime in the bear market, in my opinion.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in casinos: Still a thing? on: March 22, 2024, 01:46:25 PM
In current times, I believe that no casino is in need of money from investors to sustain its operations.
Nowadays casinos are a very good source of income for owners, so "third party investment" is something that practically no longer exists.
Please read before you comment, Bustabit and Bustadice and former Moneypot all allowed investments from players. The first two are running well and Moneypot decided to stop after its owner Leomedina took over the first two. Freebitco.in is also another site that has an investment scheme giving a fixed 4.08% per annum and 30k sats minimum investment without any withdrawal limits.

There is also bitvest, but my personal experience has been poor there.

I would love to see more casinos rediscover this now diminishing trend. There are users here who want to be the casino rather than lose money playing on it.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Outcomes of insighting gambling for a source of income. on: March 22, 2024, 01:42:59 PM
I do not think it is a wise decision to gamble as today you may win a good amount of money which may lead you to a beautiful life. But who knows tomorrow you will not lose and it will not come as a disaster. So, better not to take it as a source of fund.
The casino industry thrives on this false confidence that gamblers gain before starting playing and also between games when the win something small even if an insignificant amount.

Gambling is a source of entertainment and not income. If you are thinking of the opposite you are doing it wrong and you have to correct it to avoid the long term addiction and monetary loss associated with it.

While there are some people who might brag about their wins, they often skip out on the grimy details or present their win in such a manner that it seems like magic. Dig deeper in the proper place and you will find the real thing.
418  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New to crypto. WHERE DO U GUYS TRADE?? on: March 21, 2024, 03:04:58 PM
I’m fairly new to the crypto world.
Welcome fellow bitcoiner, please read about the types of wallets available for users and how to secure them and also how to avoid common scams.

Quote
I’m still trying to learn how to trade.
If no previous experience in speculative trading, I suggest dummy trading, watching tutorials on youtube and online resources but avoid "guru" like people who do nothing but sell you their shitcoins.

Quote
Where do u guys trade?
On exchanges. Ask your local board members (country people) which ones they prefer and then try them out.

Quote
Which sites do u suggest have a reputable “copy trade” option?? I don’t mind fees or commissions. I just want to try the copy trade option while I’m still learning. Thank u!
One of those things that newbies should not attempt to do. Please learn trading yourself and avoid these methods.
419  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic growth and it effect on the standard of living on: March 21, 2024, 02:59:51 PM
Guys what do you think about economic growth as it affects standard of living let discuss
Economic growth and standard of living are directly proportional. We have raised the standard or living because of the growth of the economy and hence the expectations of the people living have risen. With growth of technology, people are learning about their neighboring countries and how they live and eventually bringing that culture into their countries.

This is how a civilization progresses and lack of economic growth is bad for that country.
420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake and Bruno Mars An Example of How Gambling Addiction Can Affect Anyone on: March 21, 2024, 02:56:25 PM
There's a statement that's been released by the MGM that he's not in debt of $50M. Well, I guess that should end all of our speculations about him being addicted and let that just end the thing from the issue.

--> https://ew.com/bruno-mars-doesnt-owe-50-million-gambling-debts-mgm-says-8611395
The musician has a partnership with MGM and I guess they allow him to play on the casinos as a "fun time" reward of performing there and as part of the payment.

Possible that the initial news gave a negative hit to the musicians rep and so their spokesperson had to come up with this damage control article.

In all, these people are gamblers and they can afford to lose it. Dont let that influence your own lifestyle, its not all glitz and glam unless you are the owner of the casino.
