4001  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My birthday merit treat to newbies and others who are about to rank up! on: January 20, 2021, 04:44:47 AM
I have seen several users interested in the merit you are about to share. Therefore, several users have submitted application according to the desired condition. But I did not see any of them received an merit for submission or application submitted. Is their post that has submitted the application in this thread really not up to the standard you expect ? I also don't see you say anything against the apps these guys are proposing, if they really don't deserve it because it doesn't meet the standard you want then I think you should tell them so these people know and want to improve the quality of their future post.

My advice for you.
1. Try to comment a little for those who have submitted application. This will bring your thread and purpose to life.
2. If you don't have the opportunity to check each applicant's profile to find their worthy post, then change the application format slightly to make it easier for you to get the right post.
Maybe the format will be like this.

Code:
Username:
Amount of merit in 60 day:
Link from post that are considered quality:
1.
2.
3.

My reason:
1. The username will make it easier for you to know who submitted the application for review and to verify the submitted post really the same person.
2. The amount of merit they get in 60 days will make it easier for you to know how often these users make posts that are considered quality by other users.
3. Lastly, you don't have to bother checking each user's profile to find their quality posts as I bet you can't send merit for all of their quality posts (sMerit limitation). Only 3 posts are enough for you to check, it will be easy enough to get them.

These are all my suggestions and views to make your goals better. If you don't want it, just ignore my advice.

Liverpool 0 - 0 Manchester United

I was unable to watch this grand game, I was very frustrated because that Sunday I ran out of internet and TV because I had problems with the provider... I used the mobile internet but it was very slow and expensive so I couldn't watch this game and any other game this Sunday . I see that tottenham managed to win and even scored 3 goals. I missed great and good games Sad

Big match are sometime too boring to watch if you are home alone. Sometime I don't even watch it because it's too late/ early morning. Unfortunately the Manchester United vs Liverpool match had to end in a draw and it was very boring of course if you are one of the fans between the two team. Instead, you can still check out the highlight on the YouTube channel to see how they did it even if it's just a few minute. That will give you a bit of an idea of how boring the match was.
4003  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My birthday merit treat to newbies and others who are about to rank up! on: January 18, 2021, 05:40:17 PM
First, Happy Birthday to you.

I won't comment on how you have used the rest of the sMerit saved on your account so far as it's completely yours. As long as it doesn't break the rule then do it well.
But one thing I might suggest to you. Don't focus too much on your sMerit spending for newbie as you can get other quality posts from high ranking users. Merit are distributed on quality posts, there is no limit to the ratings that receive them. But it's all up to you.

All newbie who have had 30 activities will have a chance to move up the rank to Junior member if they gain 1 merit. Will you send them all to move up the rank?
Sorry to be a little kidding.  Wink
4004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH high gas fee on: January 15, 2021, 08:49:12 PM
It's been a very long time since I made a transaction via the ethereum network and the last time I did it was probably at the end of 2019. It doesn't seem that the fees are as expensive as I currently notice and in a fair category.

Currently ethereum transaction fees are increasing because the main factor is the network is full and which is filled with pending transaction. People will probably pay more than just to get confirmation as soon as possible, but this will make the fees even higher. I don't really think about it, because maybe I rarely used it in the last 1 year.

Three names of Manchester City players are included in the list of Top players. That's great for a team trying to get into first place in the table. Currently Manchester City are only 4 points adrift of Manchester United as leaders with one game less. I'm sure it will be a great fight among the top 3 until the end of the season.

It looks like Chelsea and Arsenal have to try harder to maximize the strength of their team in order to win every remaining game. Only a win will take them to the top 5, they need a good team performance.
4006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the biggest mistake you've made on crypto? on: January 15, 2021, 06:13:11 PM
We all have our own strengths and weaknesses in the crypto world and I believe we generally have our ups and downs when it comes to trading. Long story short, I have experienced losses in terms of trading almost half of the capital I used for trading. This is my initial capital since I first got into crypto. I do not regret the loss because I feel it is impossible without experiencing a loss for this risky activity.

None of us are free from losses, this is a natural thing and I admit that all of them must be valuable experiences and lessons that are useful in the future.

4007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 15, 2021, 05:26:25 PM
If you look at the track record of Union Berlin which has always lost to Leverkusen, I seem to have a different opinion with you. I prefer Leverkusen
who will win the match, especially now that Leverkusen are in the top 3. What is certain is that Leverkusen don't want to lose points, so they can
still compete at the top. After all,  the difference in points with Leipzig is only 2 points apart. So it is very possible that Leverkusen can move up to
second place by replacing Leipzig, if Leipzig fail to win against Wolfsburg.
Of course, the history match (H2H) will also be a consideration for every gambler to make choices. However, you also have to pay attention to the current condition of the team where Leverkusen have not won 3 matches in a row in the Bundesliga. Are you sure Leverkusen's record will continue to be maintained ?
Union Berlin's last few games will prove they are not that weak. I hope the record will be broken.
4008  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Treat newbies right - Teach them and sell to them at the ATH on: January 15, 2021, 05:06:33 PM
This is my way; never push your ideals, or even ideas on anyone. If they are interested, they will ask how to start. I'm not into the whole business of advertising, and basically being a recruiting agency. I didn't find Bitcoin by being recommended it, I found it because it was in line with my values, and situation.
As for the way you've been doing it so far I think there is a suggested one way. I've been applying it to myself for a long time since I got to know bitcoin. Never once did I try to get other people to my passion for cryptocurrency and bitcoin unless they started asking questions.

Because most of them are attracted to bitcoin because of its value, it will be very risky if they do not know beforehand what risks they will face. It is much safer for me not to invite anyone to be interested in my interests and desires in bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. They should really take the time to study before they get here.
4009  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how do i give a merit point to someone ? on: January 15, 2021, 03:37:15 PM
You have 0 sMerit, so it's useless question to ask.
It's actually quite easy, if you don't want to answer whatever the OP asks then just ignore him instead of having to force yourself to answer without adding anything that can help him.  Wink

Regarding the OP's question, I think he got the right answer and there is nothing more to add. It's just that I want the OP to immediately lock this thread so that there is no further discussion if it has received an answer and is understood. Regardless of whether the OP will respond to user answers or not, I think the thread is worth lock up.
4010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 15, 2021, 03:03:51 PM
Inter Juventus has all the best characteristics of a top game: while Conte will be able to count on all his best players, Pirlo have quite a few players out (De Ligt and Dybala above all). Question is can Ronaldo alone be enough to beat Inter and say hi to A.C. Milan which is leading Serie A?
Juventus is not just Ronaldo and they shouldn't depend on Ronaldo to win every game. Juventus have to work hard with the team even though in the end Ronaldo can make the difference. I might be more than happy to see that Juventus didn't win that match, it would make AC Milan even more secure at the top of the table.

I would try to bet on Juve, odds are good but that is going to be risky!
No problem, you are fully entitled to decide which team is seeded to win the match. When I see that there are bigger opportunities for Juventus, why not ?
Betting should not prioritize the team we like, but which team has the chance and the potential to win.
4011  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] Members who support newbies - Thanks! on: January 15, 2021, 02:19:09 PM
It's a good thing when we can help anyone with merit to move up the ranking especially on their quality post especially beginners. There are quite a number of users who really care about beginners and low rank member and I believe they have done well. It's like telling them that newbies are always welcomed by forum members and treat them well.

~Snip
I should probably un-ignore Bitcoin Discussion and have a look-see and perhaps find some lower-ranked members writing some hidden gems.  You never know.
You have been doing well all the time. I have no doubt that the quality of the post is what you are looking for from them. Of course there are some beginners who make mistakes at the beginning just because they want to appear to have quality posts, but are caught in plagiarism. That's very ironic. They must be completely ignored by merit.

4012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you bought the dip? on: January 15, 2021, 01:54:20 PM
Luckily, when i sel off my altcoins when they followed the bull market, I had manage to buy some part of bitcoin. Not at the lowest dip but bought some part at $36k, now not regretting as the pullback is going smoothly.

While other's are afraid to buy at high price because for them the correction's price is still high and they are still waiting for the it to dump down to $20k as I can see we can not yet break that price. We all have a choice, it's how we react and manage our trading styles.
I think there are several other reason why people aren't buying bitcoin at high price these days and I think capital is the main reason. I believe all trader should manage their portfolio well even if they don't have much capital. Some of them are believed to prefer altcoin over buying bitcoin at high price in the hope that they will make a much bigger profit than bitcoin today.

Bitcoin is the most recommended asset for long-term investment by most bitcoin enthusiast and I would never doubt it. But everyone can make a choice of asset that could potentially benefit them over a period of time. Altcoin are an option, maybe.
4013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Remember when ETH was $1400 a few years ago then crashed to $70 as BTC crashed? on: January 14, 2021, 11:29:17 PM
Market seemed have bounce back already, we might be able to see ETH breaking its current ATH soon. I'm prepared for this and I'm excited on what to see, you know, bitcoin break $20k and it reach $40k, so if the same scenario will happen, probably ETH will be trading at least $3000 which is awesome.
It's great if you still hold Ethereum in your wallet as one of the asset that you put into your portfolio. Ethereum has the potential to hit ATH this year if bitcoin doesn't fall. But if bitcoin crashes, then I don't think ethereum will be able to peak like it did in 2017.

I have happily recommended some friends to buy ethereum since November 2020 and luckily they took the risk and at this point I believe they have made a lot of profit. But now, I seem to prefer to refrain from buying assets in the market because the price in my opinion is quite high. There is a risk I have to consider if I am going to buy and that is accepting all the consequences of the trade should the price fall.

*remember the wise word: 'don't feed spammers'...
many people may feel that the merit system is totally unfair but for me, it is very fair. Just imagine if there is no merit system then we will see hundreds of spammers who grow to become legendary every month. *don't stop to deepen your horizons so you can make quality posts
The merit system has worked well to prevent spammers from naturally rising in the rank of forum since early 2018. Additionally, the merit system has triggered most users to change their bad habits regarding post quality if they really care about rank. Merit shouldn't be anyone's priority because I'm sure merit will come naturally if users can post quality stuff. It will also be tiring if we always think about merit.

One thing I always remember is "the reward would never stop anyone from rank if we could post quality". Theymos idea is perfect for making forums cleaner than ever just because of the merit system implementation.
4015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: January 14, 2021, 10:07:52 PM
Are you expecting Zidane to leave? I think coach Zidane is good, it's just that he has a lot of pressure at the club.
Even though I am not a Madrid supporter, I like Zinedine Zidane to coach Madrid for a long time. He is the perfect coach for Madrid, has had a lot of success with him in Madrid, the fans and club management should be aware of that.
Not achieve a title at the end of the season does not necessarily mean he is a failed coach, sometimes the composition of the players in the team also greatly determines the course of the season.
4016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: January 14, 2021, 10:00:45 PM
Unfortunately Arsenal had to settle for a goalless draw in this match even though they had several opportunities to do so. But nothing changed until the final whistle sounded. I doubt Arsenal will qualify for the Europa League next season if they are like this (inconsistently).
24 points from 18 matches still puts Arsenal in 11th place and has the potential to drop if Leeds United win tomorrow's game.

4017  Other / Meta / Re: Is it another phishing of bitcointalk.org ? on: January 14, 2021, 08:09:52 PM
Great find @Sujonali1819. This is the first time I've seen the bitcointalk.org site also have a phishing site. I am not sure it will be safe to log in, which obviously I think this person has bad intentions towards bitcointalk.org users mainly because of the increase in the price of bitcoin.

Damn this freaks getting smarter every time they creating a new fake website with there domain.
And looks for me also like DdmrDdmr has written already that it was only created for the fake miner hardware selling.
If you logged in to the real Bitcointalk and clicked a link and it asking you to login again it should be a warning for you.

Scammers will continue to look for loopholes and ways to get coffers of money from these innocent people, especially users of bitcointalk.org. Users of the bitcointalk.org forums should be aware of this and continue to be vigilant.
4018  Economy / Economics / Re: High prices mean even higher volatility on: January 14, 2021, 07:53:32 PM
The increase in bitcoin price has so far been uncontrollable so that the price is very volatile, which in turn causes high volatility. Of course the OP has understood enough about this.
Fluctuation is an inseparable part of bitcoin because that is how trader profit. But I am pretty sure that bitcoin is currently experiencing high price volatility due to market trends. The 12% increase in the last 24 hours is what I mean.
4019  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price of Bitcoin has exceeded $34,000. Is it still suitable to buy now on: January 14, 2021, 07:22:57 PM
Bitcoin reclaims $40k and should be able to reach $42k again, the daily RSI recently rebound indicates that the bullish momentum is increasing once again. it's just time matter, when bitcoin break that mark then it's going to reach $45k and $50k. Alternatively, in case of bitcoin can't hold its position above $40K, we can expect the first level of support at $38k, so whoever wants to purchase bitcoin, can buy it now or wait for a slight pullback to $38k.
Don't forget, make sure they have considered all the risks and don't be greedy. As long as they can afford to lose, anyone can buy bitcoin at any price.
I prefer to wait for the price to drop a few thousand dollar before I buy, I don't want to appear in a hurry to buy and this is the recommended way for trader and investor.

~Snip
And if ever we close out this week at $38,000 then for sure we are definitely on the bullish phase again and might target $50,000. Still your choice though, so make it right. Smiley
I'm not sure if that will come true, but if it manages to break the $41,950 resistance then there is a chance that bitcoin price will head up to $50K.
4020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop wishing Ethereum dead or overthrown on: January 13, 2021, 06:28:47 PM
If anyone hopes that Ethereum will die and be abandoned by the crypto community then recommend them to take a look at ethereum's price and market cap even if only for a moment in the hope that they get an answer to their doubts on ethereum.

Due to its functionality, ethereum will probably continue to be the first altcoin among altcoin competing in the crypto market. If the doubt is caused by high transaction costs, then I think the development team will find the best solution to fix it. So there is no excuse today to say that ethereum will die and be abandoned.
