4001  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 04, 2022, 09:46:14 PM
Stable month, it seems. Nothing too different from May should be expected... There aren't major news or events which could possibly boost bitcoin price up. I see news keep saying bitcoin won't stay cheap like this for too long, but that is all they have to say for now, and although I think they are right, it's not convincing enough to push a bull run forward.

No bull run this year, that's for sure, we are in a bearish cycle already. And even if there is news that will boost the price, perhaps it won't last long as speculators are going to used it to shorts bitcoin to try and squeeze some money in this plot.

And it's better not to be enthusiastic or something not just this June, but this 2022. Similar in 2018 by all means. But we can make the most out of this downturn this month, simply accumulate, and don't make things complicated.
Indeed, where some see an issue, others see an opportunity. Just like in 2018, let's enjoy the season of cheap bitcoins the maximum we can. I'm confident it's just a matter of time until the next bull run starts. It can take a year or by 2024 yet due to the next halving, who knows, but the only thing I want to be sure is to be prepared when this time comes. At same time, it's important to avoid  FUD and advises from speculators on the internet meanwhile. There are many influencers instilling in people's minds they should give up on bitcoin and adopt random altcoins which they claim to be the next "big promise" of crypto market.

I believe that is one major reason why investors are having difficult to focus in bitcoin investment nowadays and end falling for hyped altcoins.

4003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bought anything with btc? on: June 04, 2022, 06:32:03 AM
So, guys the thing is, do you use bitcoins as an investment or ever bought anything with bitcoins? Maybe a different approach? Do share experience with us
I bought a BTC physical wallet with bitcoin once, lol. Great purchase!

If it were possible, I would go shopping with bitcoin much more frequently. Maybe someday it will be possible, but right now investment is the main application for btc.

Futurely I hope to purchase a house or apartment with bitcoin, although it must be a good deal. I'm not going to pay more than the necessary, just for the pleasure of dealing with bitcoin.
4004  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the golden rule of investment? on: June 04, 2022, 04:29:55 AM
Yesterday I heard that people are stressed because they lost a lot of money in cryptocurrencies, they sold their houses and land to invest in several ICOs and invest some memes of coins including LUNA, it seems that the phenomenon of cryptocurrencies that make a lot of people lose money will often be heard because many people are greedy and want become rich instantly.
That is really sad and I feel sorry for the people who did this and lost their patrimony, but couldn't they have at least put their funds into the most reliable cryptocurrency among all, that is bitcoin? First that it is a risky move to sell patrimony to invest (they are risking money they can't afford to lose), but since they are willing to it anyway, the investment must be very well calculated to maximize earnings chances.

To invest this money in ICOs, altcoins and memecoins is insanity since the beginning. These currencies don't offer any solidity and long term perspectives to adopters. Bitcoin, on the other hand, does, as we can see through its history since it was launched.
4005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The digital ID for Gambling on: June 04, 2022, 03:21:25 AM
I think a digital ID is going to provide a lot of problems for enforcement agencies.  I don't see how they can tell who is the one behind the digital ID and how will they deal with compromised IDs?  I feel like this is an idea that might seem good on the surface to politicians who don't understand it, but once implemented it will likely be a massive headache that won't last more than a couple years before it's decided that it was an idea that was dead upon arrival.
That is true. Not that in Denmark it's going to happen frequently, but I can imagine this trend reaching to another governments around the world and having their citizens creating schemes of renting, lending and manufacturing IDs to others who can't have a legit ID by themselves. Next step from governments will be to integrate a live monitoring system attached to every gamblers' devices to record their faces while they gamble, so there won't be any doubts the person gambling is the same person of the ID card.
4006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is scarcer than gold. on: June 03, 2022, 09:02:29 PM
Hard to compare both. I believe physical, palpable precious metals will always be more important than virtual goods such as bitcoin. And although we don't know how much gold there is disponible in the universe, it's a fact gold is still very scarce and difficult to acquire.

There is a lot of gold hidden in the depths of this world yet, but it doesn't mean we know how to access or have the means to access that. On the other hand, with bitcoin it's simpler, as all you have to do is to set a virtual mining farm operation to start earning and accumulating your satoshis. That means bitcoin is more accessible and reachable than gold.
4007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why most crypto projects' team members are made public these days? on: June 03, 2022, 07:32:17 PM
In the event that the project team is legal and sets ambitious goals, then the publication of the project team, if it includes members already known in the crypto community, adds credibility to such a project. In addition, it has been noticed that if a project does not publish information about the team, it may be perceived as a warning that such a project is a scam.
That is the idea, to add more credibility to the project, consequently raising investors' confidence when investing on the cryptocurrency. But if we think carefully about this matter, it doesn't make much difference anyway to know who are the people behind a project. Knowing Do Kwon is behind LUNA didn't prevent people losing hundreds of thousands dollars. It probably has even made people lose more money, since they felt too confident because they knew the developer and invested more than they should.

Furthermore, almost every ICOs have a developer team section, displaying a picture and social medias of each of them. And once more, it doesn't prevent some of these projects stopping at the middle of the development and most of them being useless and unprofitable after the launchment.

After all, the effect is more at the marketing field than anywhere else.
4008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can we do to speed up Bitcoin mass adoption? on: June 01, 2022, 10:43:52 PM
The community is waiting for the world to accept bitcoin to be used everywhere. Maybe it's worth trying actions that will speed this up? For example, encouraging buyers of your store's products or providing car repair services. You can offer a discount if pay in bitcoin. This will be beneficial for the buyer, and you get BTC for your purchases from other people, too, at a discount, or in a pinch, leave it as an investment.

Donation + discount when paying in BTC can be combined. Discounts could encourage people to use bitcoin and bring mass adoption closer through more users. In the end, BTCitcoin should circulate in society / economy, like blood in a living organism, and not stagnate and stale.

What can you say about this option? Will it be legal to use it?
I agree with you in many points of your text, and indeed, that is something that could be done by bitcoin enthusiasts on their businesses to spread adoption. Actually, it would be great if businesses daily demanded by the masses used the strategy of discounts when paying with bitcoin, you mentioned above. Imagine a big supermarket doing this. The impact would be huge and at least 50% of customers would start using bitcoin immediately!

Regards it, for now there is nothing the government can do in most countries, because there isn't a legislation over bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general yet. It's gray area and people can't be forbidden using it for payments. However, by the end of this or next year there must be a new set of laws coming into action to regulate this market (in my country).

Once it happens, then I really don't know how harmful it's going to be for big businesses to adopt bitcoin. For the small ones it doesn't make much difference, because they are below the radar and can deal with their customers informally.
4009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good time for alts on: June 01, 2022, 09:18:01 PM
It's a good moment to invest in cryptocurrency, but only if you are a patient person who will be able to wait and hold your investments up to few years, since we don't how long the bear market is still going to last and if the prices are going to crash a little more yet.

News aren't positive for crypto universe these days. I've just seen reports of crypto exchanges firing employees in order to reduce internal costs. That is a clear sign investors are in another markets for now, so crypto companies have to adjust themselves to this reality where the money flow has decreased. It was explained this is happening due to risk aversion among investors, although we know it's because traditional markets currently offer a better proportion between returns x risk than crypto investments.

Everything crypto enthusiasts have to do is to be ready once money start flowing into cryptocurrency again. And one more time, since we don't know when exactly it's going to happen, it's advised to be always prepared, to be always holding, because it is just a matter of time until inflation starts eating the profit made by investors at traditional markets, so they will have to come back to crypto.
4010  Economy / Economics / Re: Food crisis coming? What's wrong about it? It could be good on: June 01, 2022, 08:05:41 PM
I've read a few articles explaining that a food crisis is coming, I want to tell you something about it. There will be no food crisis for me.
Price of pasta, price of cooking oil, rice or meat will increase 20%? 30%?
20%, 30% is nothing... Here the cheapest cooking oil rised 200% since the beginning of the pandemic.

That's all right. I don't care much. I can handle it, just like most people in developed countries. We don't spend much on food, increasing that budget by a third is perfectly fine.
You say it now, but after increasing your budget for food in a third, there won't be limits. After the first third, there will be other, and another... That is inflation hiting you really hard. And don't think developed countries are safe from this menace. The world has changed. Developed countries' leaders are adopting the same measures third world countries are used to. Just look the example of USA raising interest rates artificially. Typical banana's republic economical policy.

The problem will be with the poor countries, but I wonder: is it a problem, or a solution?
Initially it's a problem, but every solutions come from an initial problem, so there might be a positive side on it, because it can be the starting point for world authorities pay attention to the fact population is growing too fast, while the resources disponible in the world continue the same.

There were 100 millions people living in Africa in 1900. Now, there are over 1,500 millions people there. I know that some people live a in a fantasy world thinking that there will be food, jobs, modern housing and all creature comforts for every human, but that won't happen. We live in a finite world, and the population just cannot grow without limit. Number one rule of the world has always been the survival of the fittest...
So far governments have been irresponsible, populist and demagogic. They don't care about it. If someone ventures making such proposal, he is going to be labelled with the most terrible existing adjectives. It must be someone of great courage and reason to address this delicate subject with success.
4011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFT slot Machine !! on: June 01, 2022, 07:06:12 PM
I don't quite understand why a lot of people want to get NFTs integrated within their platforms. If there isn't any utility to their NFTs, not a lot of people will even bother wanting those NFTs. If these things can be converted into something that can be used on the casino, perhaps gamblers will be proud to have that item on them just to trade for perks and whatnot.

Overall I don't think that these NFT integration will make a big difference on casinos and the overall gambling experience but that's just me.
Well, that is the idea here. To give NFT holders access to revenue share, airdrop of $Lucky tokens, VIP, decision power over the future of the casino and lottery tickets to earn extra spins, native tokens and more NFTs.

When NFTs have a function like this they totally worth. Although we must be careful, because this casino was created recently (Q4, 2021) and the project isn't fully developed yet.

Does anyone have already managed to collect a NFT? Can you purchase it or do you have to win it by playing at the casino? It seems details are too restricted to their Discord channel...
4012  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Rising Popularity of Crypto and It's Growth on: June 01, 2022, 04:24:49 PM
With AdLunam, everyone can get access to high quality projects to invest based on their attention ranking to earn juicy yields.
Juicy yields usually come followed by juicy token devaluation. For most altcoins, that is the only advantage or benefit they can offer to investors, because the currency actually doesn't bring any innovation or particular feature adopters could be interested in. But it doesn't matter, since all the yields received are in vain once the hype is gone and the token's price crashes.

It's much better to invest in bitcoin and earn regular yields that are considered low for many, although we can have the assurance to be investing in something that is solid and has passed the test of time.
4013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How often do you transact in the real world with your bitcoin or digital money? on: June 01, 2022, 03:45:12 PM
because we can ask the store even though there is no writing accepting bitcoin but at least try asking. because I recently did it. ie ask a store that has absolutely no writing accepting payments with bitcoin. but it turned out that after I asked the shop owner directly, it was very coincidental that the shop owner also played crypto and he explained to me that he could also accept bitcoin as payment but specifically. he deliberately did not write because the reason turned out to be that I also just remembered that in my country bitcoin as a means of direct payment is not yet legal. and that's the reason the friend and shop owner I asked didn't write a post on his shop about accepting bitcoin payments.
This is a very good idea when going to a store to buy some furniture or accessories. After all, there is no harm in asking. But I think when we have merchants as friends it's much easier to ask and to make a deal with bitcoin, because we have intimacy with them for that.

maybe friends here can also try it. and have you guys done it too and what items have you recently bought with bitcoin payments?

How often do you transact in the real world with your bitcoin or digital money?
Unfortunately I don't see opportunities to use bitcoin as money very often. When purchasing goods, I always do a careful research for the cheapest item of the model I'm looking for and it ends that the best promotions disponible are always in fiat. Maybe people living closer to the big urban centers are able to find offers they can pay with bitcoin more frequently.
4014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good time to start accepting BTC? on: May 31, 2022, 10:15:44 PM
Bitcoin is a universal digital currency, which can be accepted across the universe as a means of payment to your business and it also determine the size of your business, and is good a one, but always know that Bitcoin (BTC) has a high volatility which can be appreciate or depreciate at any given time.

Yes I do agree, that's why I am thnking why does the ts ask us about the perfect time to start accepting bitcoin when it is always good to accept bitcoin? But maybe if he going to accept it, he needs to learn the volatility of course, maybe he needs to convert it to stable coins? if he will start accepting bitcoin now and not convert it is still good since bitcoin price will be up again sooner or later for sure.
It's important to exchange part of the profit made through payments received in bitcoin to a stable currency as soon as he receives it in his wallet to guarantee he is going to have money to re-invest on his business and make another round of profit. Only liquid revenue must be kept in BTC and only if he isn't going to need this money on short run for daily outgoings or emergency purposes.

keeping a reserve in fiat for acquiring raw materials, paying for the business' expenses in general and upgrading the store is necessary to not be surprised by market's bearish seasons and crashes. But the rest of the money can be stored in bitcoin without any problems.
4015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any changes experienced within body - Gambling??? on: May 31, 2022, 09:01:23 PM
If anger has built up a lot, it has lots of troubling affects on the body like restricting blood flow and causing the heart to work harder, beyond that releasing the anger can often be directed at other people or objects if it's uncontrolled.
When the addicted person puts others in a dangerous situation after losing during a gambling session, it's a final evidence things have already gone too far and he definitely needs medical help and to stop playing immediately. Every addictions are serious and harmful, but this one in special is the most concerning one, because people who have nothing to do with the story are being attacked and assaulted by the addicted gambler.
Sometimes people think compulsive gambling leads only to financial losses, since they see it more often, and forget it also leads to moral and physical damage of the addicted person and those around him.
4016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can a new sportsbook gain trust? on: May 31, 2022, 08:00:15 PM
Trust isn't built in a day or two. It's a matter of time. Many casinos think they will launch and get reputation but to be honest, it’s a lengthy process. Personally, I wouldn’t trust a brand new casino with more than $20-$50.
To build the trust, you have to get engaged with the community, hear them, solve issues quickly. State everything clearly on the ToS page and act on that only. I have seen many casinos here who always make the rule for their advantage only.
Also, you can run some promo here to get engaged with the community directly.
True, doesn't matter the effort he does on short run to show his website is a good option for gamblers. The inexorable fact is that only time will tell if his sportsbook is legit and trustworthy. The longer he keeps his services active and operating, the more are his chances of increasing his customers base in daily basis, as his reputation as well. It's a job of patience, effort, investment (because promotions can be costly for the house at the beginning) and sacrifice. But after few years some nice results should be achieved. That is the period of time needed until gamblers become confident in depositing larger sums of money on the website, while placing more bets and spending more time there.
4017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Depression Starts in Cryptocurrency Anytime on: May 31, 2022, 07:14:15 PM
In a volatile market like this one everything can happen at any time. Today you might see your investments rising 30%, but on the next day you might see everything falling apart and your investments losing 50% of their initial value.

We, as human beings have a hard time adapting ourselves to uncertainties, so when we are in a situation where dealing with volatility and unpredictable fluctuations is inevitable, we tend to feel sad and depressed the more we absorb the dynamics of this environment. Somehow we are constantly trying to predict and decide what is going to happen in our future, what is going to happen next in our life. That is why we make plans, have goals and feel so accomplished when everything works in the way we planned. But when we fail with our personal goals, plans and aspirations, that depressive feeling hits us really hard.

For this reason, you should always keep your mind on the reality. Don't have absurd goals and expectations about cryptocurrency, so you avoid disappointing yourself if something goes wrong. Besides that, put God above everything else in your life and keep in mind you aren't going to be helpless in any moments, since you have Him by your side. The fulfillment and peace you will feel by doing this is enough to not let any depression take control of you.
4018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The digital ID for Gambling on: May 31, 2022, 06:25:29 PM
Sometimes I have the perception these authorities don't have any problems in their countries to solve and their whole worries and concerns turn around gambling. Maybe they think once they strict gambling at the highest level as possible and totally prevent underage people from gambling, their countries will be perfect in every aspects, as gambling were the root of every issues they face nowadays.

I would like to see technology being spread and helping in fields where it really matters and make the difference for us in our daily lives and not to watch us and control what we are doing every seconds of the day. Governments should let people be responsible for their own acts and stop acting like a babysitter or the big brother...

This protectionist approach governments have towards their citizens is one of the main reasons why there are lots of citizens who can't take responsability for their own acts and keep blaming others for their own mistakes. Like the gambler who borrowed money from his acquainted, didn't pay, and when sued by him, claimed it was the casino's fault to keep offering free spins every time he tried to close his account.
4019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB or ETH ? on: May 31, 2022, 05:54:16 PM
Both are good, but I prefer ethereum, which is still decentralized and has a longer history in crypto market to be compared and analyzed. Of course expensive fees are a big cons when dealing with eth, but even on this case this cryptocurrency hasn't been severely impacted in a negative way by the market's volatility. It remains on top 2 and it doesn't look like it's going to change soon, as many projects rely on ethereum chain, including the newest ones.

However, an investor doesn't have to choose only one of them. A smart investor can split his funds in several parts and hold every options that look good for him.
Just make sure to have the largest portion of money applied in bitcoin. Altcoins should be always secondary.
4020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 40 high schools in Argentina to launch bitcoin in their curriculum. on: May 31, 2022, 05:11:08 PM
So this will fall under the finance subject or curriculum or It's a separate subject that specifically tackles Bitcoin alone?
This is kinda interesting to be honest, but they should tackle the general aspect of whole cryprocurrency to guide these children from not investing into a wrong project.
Greed might kick in especially when these highschool kids learn the history of Bitcoin.
Nevertheless, this is a good initiative.
I guess it won't be part of the official curriculum, since the initiative came from a non-governmental organization. And to be part of the curriculum, a governmental department (educational one) should approve this concept first and then introduce the matter inside a subject like mathematics or hire a specialist to teach. At least, that is my guess, though. Maybe I'm wrong...

Quote
A non-governmental organization by the name of Bitcoin Argentina has partnered with Paxful and the Built With Bitcoin Foundation to educate students about Bitcoin. The program named Schools and Bitcoin will include students from 40 different schools.

Moreover, Argentina's government discourages crypto usage. That is what they said after sealing a deal with IMF in order to launch a recovery plan for the local devastated economy:

Quote
Argentina’s government has signaled it will discourage the use of cryptocurrencies as part of a proposed, nearly $45 billion debt restructuring deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), leaving the country’s crypto sector questioning what this policy could mean if approved.
Argentina’s government would 'discourage' crypto usage under proposed IMF deal
