4001  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin now the strongest currency in the world? on: June 25, 2017, 01:24:44 AM
Nope, and no government is ever going to allow it to ever be. They'll regulate and tax us into oblivion before they allow something like this to happen, they (politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen and women) wouldn't allow themselves to lose their power to a decentralized group of people who are going to be so vulnerable to regulatory issues. Because a lot of people know (minus the die hard Bitcoin supports) is if the government made it illegal to possess Bitcoin and made us sell right now, most of us would do it and just go back to our normal lives.

So no, Bitcoin isn't the strongest currency in the world and it never will be sadly.
4002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Criminality and Bitcoin on: June 25, 2017, 12:06:19 AM
I'm not going to deny the fact that it probably has HELPED with opening up a new door to criminals, but I wouldn't say thats increased the criminality in places cause that's just an absurd claim to make. Think about it, criminals aren't just going to start committing crimes due to Bitcoin nor are they going to stop if Bitcoin is going to go away. They're just going to find a new medium to help them in between, and in my opinion I just think Bitcoin is one of the many minor ones that they're using.

Cash is always going to be king when it comes to this sort of thing, that's just bound to happen.
4003  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Poll: If god commanded you to murder homosexuals, would you? on: June 24, 2017, 11:43:34 PM
Even if God came down from the heavens and command me, I would not even be able to force myself into doing that. It wouldn't matter who told me to commit such a moral sin, my mother, father, family, AND EVEN GOD HIMSELF I couldn't bring myself to murdering anyone. I would think that God has been possessed into doing this by the Devil, or another force that he wouldn't be in the right state of mind while forcing this to happen.

No, I wouldn't.
4004  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ireland’s first gay prime minister is formally elected on: June 24, 2017, 10:27:57 PM
Don't really know why this stuff is hitting the news but I'll chime in. I think people who are gay should be equal and shouldn't have any sort of problem with stuff like this, what they want to conduct with their sexual / romantic life. It shouldn't affect their life out of the bedroom and I'd expect people who are normal to respect this decision of theirs to the highest degree. I hope that this guy does a wonderful job, and I hope people don't involve his sexual life into anything that he does.
4005  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I'll just leave this here on: June 24, 2017, 09:27:20 PM
The only issue I'd be having with this statement is that if a person is poor, not working, using welfare programs or even abusing welfare programs, they SHOULDN'T be using these sort of luxuries. I know I may be contradicting what was written, but in all honesty you should be making the smart decision for yourself and for your family to be using that money in the right way and not WASTING it on these sort of things.

I know I'm going to be called out for playing into what this tweet is saying is the worst, but you could get a much higher BANG for your BUCK for coffee if you don't go to starbucks, or do this, or do that. So, that's just my two cents.

4006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I buy bitcoins before or after August 1st? on: June 24, 2017, 08:56:18 PM
Honestly, with the volatility at this point I'd just try to stick out of Bitcoin and Cryptos all together. Prices are going to insane heigts, traders are beyond happy with the volatility and are playing the markets to be able to pull every single penny out of the people who are just getting into Bitcoin to make some quick cash and I just wouldn't trust this market to not bust AT SOME CLOSE POINT. I'd stick out of it and see how this all plays out, maybe you'll be able to buy Bitcoin for cheap or maybe you'll miss out on a time of Bitcoin before a huge breakout.
4007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RANSOMWARE impact on: June 24, 2017, 08:27:05 PM
This type of crime is going to follow the same fate from me when it comes to talking about it, you can commit this crime with Bitcoin, or you may commit it with other items such as Western Union, Bank Transfer, CASH, Prepaid Cards, AND SO ON AND FUCKING SO FORTH. So it's not like Bitcoin is the go to for this sort of thing, I'd actually think it's one of the harder ones for the criminals to pull off as they're going to need to cash out with Bitcoin and if they'd not want to lose money on it they're going to need to go through KYC shit.

So, no impact in the least. The media may throw one or two stories up about this, but nothing to really change anything.
4008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do I get a QR Code for Receiving Donations? on: June 24, 2017, 07:46:26 PM
Well, it really matters on what you want out of this wallet. If you want something that has a mix of good security and good usability, I'd be going with something along the lines of BitGo which has seemed to work with me fine without any sort of issue. So, that's a pretty solid one to be using.

If you want something where no one else has access to the keys, you should be making a paper wallet on a non internet machine to be able to make something very secure. This is your best option if you need a coin dumb but it's not going to be able to be accessed unless you put the private key into somewhere.
4009  Economy / Economics / Re: In event of your death on: June 24, 2017, 07:06:26 PM
Well, one of the biggest things when it comes to Bitcoin and the owner dying with it as that you're going to have to establish something in writing with all your private keys and such, in your will with a LAWYER to ensure that everything is taken care of in an appropriate legal manner. Cause the last thing you want in the horrid event of your death (may god forbid) is that your family is going to miss out on money due to you not being competent enough while alive to establish all of this legal matter.

If this isn't done, they could miss out on money and not be able to do certain things later in life. Hopefully, everyone with a substantial amount of money already has all of this stuff done.
4010  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin die soon? on: June 24, 2017, 06:43:49 PM
While the fees are high and there are blatant issues when it comes to Bitcoin as a whole right now with network congestion, increasing fees, failure to come to a clear conclusion (on the part of the miners this is) I still don't think a Bitcoin is going to die through all of this, theres a ton of money involved in Bitcoin. Be it through trade, mining, gambling, mixing, companies on here, exchanging, etc and so on and so forth. These people aren't going to go down without a fight to trying to save Bitcoin from what some people think will be its fate.

I think we're going to face some sort of hard fork soon to fix what's wrong with the network, only god knows when this'll ACTUALLY happen though.
4011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the future of bitcoin will look like on: June 24, 2017, 05:59:18 PM
I think the future of Bitcoin is going to be what we all make of it, if we're going to work together in order to further the advancements of Bitcoin and to ensure this network is fixed to accommodate more people without increasing the fees (or lowering them for that matter) then I think Bitcoin may make a play in entering the currency market to be used by normal people without much of an issue (given that companies start to accept Bitcoin)

Though I do think a lot of this depends on if the government starts regulating Bitcoin more and more to stop growth from occurring, that'll play a huge part in if people are going to be getting involved with Bitcoin and businesses starting to accept it.
4012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: Has Theymos been hacked or hijacked? on: June 24, 2017, 05:27:57 PM
The thing you have to understand about the ardent small-blockers is that they really genuinely believe they are protecting Bitcoin from a very real existential threat.  If Bitcoin's security properties get diminished, there's no going back, no undoes or fixing the problem.  It is a permanent change that irreparably weakens Bitcoin.  What you view as overly zealous conservatism they view as appropriate caution given the risks involved.  Now, I happen to think even given the risks that they are overly conservative, and I support a hard fork blocksize increase... but I don't begrudge them for sticking to their guns when from their point of view, they are defending Bitcoin's very existence from what they perceive as a very real threat that might destroy Bitcoin.

Yeah, I wouldn't completely destroy someones opinion for doing what they think is right. Even if I, and the quote above me aren't keen on supporting their opinion you have to give it to them for fighting with ALL SIDES in a time where a good amount of people are coming out saying that WE NEED to fix this network.Though, I will have to agree with Theymos and others that I think we're going to have to work out the kinks of a block increase as there's going to be some issues with Bitcoin coming out after it-- I don't think this threat is as serious as they think it is, but I will acknowledge it is also there.

I don't think he's been hacked either, he's just supporting his side and his groups side leave the man be.
4013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Volatility - major reasons for ?! on: June 24, 2017, 04:34:12 PM
I'd say one of the biggest reasons at the moment is going to have to be all of the tons of people joining in on Bitcoin thinking it's going to be 'easy money' for whoever gets in on it fast, so what it's doing right now is making a HUGE DEMAND for a currency that is really IMO being used for mostly trade at the moment. This is one of the core reasons, but some of the other reasons are going to be the amount of money that's being put into cryptos in general (not just Bitcoin) and these people need a currency to exchange, which is always bound to be bitcoin.

Whales are the ones that are making this volatility a thing, or an issue, these and the day traders are the people that are bound to make a SHIT TON of money from the volatity being higher as they have a higher margin to be able to catch Bitcoin on and make a buck.
4014  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Invest now to double your bitcoin on: June 24, 2017, 03:45:45 PM
Anyone claiming to be able to do something like this, is just going to be making outlandish claims to be able to steal as much of your money as they'd like. They're not going to do it out of the kindness of their hearts, it's just like anything else. If you want to double you're money, you're going to need to work your ass off at it-- do whatever is nessecary to do that, AND THEN do it all again, and again, and again.

Doesn't matter what you do on this forum or in life, but if you're going to be working your ass off you're going to be getting far in whatever field you puruse. That's the only way, and the most honest way to double your bitcoins.
4015  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Turn $10,000 into 1 Million on: June 21, 2017, 02:22:40 AM
The thing that people are always so keen to forget when it comes to altcoins and crypto, is that there's going to have to be someone else / tons of other people wanting to buy at that insane price that's so high for you to be able to make money off of it. There has to be a market and other people feeling as if the price is enough for them to want to buy in as well, theres no point in just thinking the price is going to go up on A STRAIGHT FUCKING LINE INCLINE forever. It's just something that won't happen and doesn't happen in stocks  as well.

I don't think you'll be able to do this, I think this portfolio can make some money though just nothing near THAT INSANE AMOUNT OF PERCENTAGE INCREASE ON THE VALUE.

Good luck and I do wish your investment the best, even if I don't see eye to eye with it.
4016  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Unofficial] Exodus Wallet | Multi-Currency | Built-in Exchange on: June 21, 2017, 01:24:30 AM
Do you ever think they're going to turn into one of those exchanges that's going to accept a ton more alt-coins, like maybe even the amount of altcoins that are on shapeshift or changelly or one of those sites? Like I do have exodus and use it at the moment, but I'd only really like to use it for the smaller cap coins that I own and are taking a big dice role on seeing if I can make some money out of it.

I know you're not related to the team in the least, but I did think this was worth a shot at seeing.

Thanks!
4017  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is prohibited to sell Bitcoins over Paypal? on: June 21, 2017, 12:41:08 AM
See you may be able to get away with it for sometime, but don't think that you're going to be making an income from it forever. It's going to burn you when you have a ton of money stuck in that PP account and then you get shit on because Paypal has locked / limited your account and now wants to know what you're doing with all this money. It really does suck and it did happen to me when I was a trader on Paxful, my account was locked up for around 6 months and I lost out on all the revenue (potential) and all the money that was in there for that time.

I wouldn't do it if this is your personal account, plus you're also going to need to work within the laws of your countries money transmitting licenses and such to be able to work legally within your country. The last thing you want is the taxman coming at you with tons of fees asking for their money and you just using this as a side business losing it all due to this.

Be careful bud, I wouldn't do it.
4018  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You only lose if... on: June 21, 2017, 12:08:39 AM
See I think this is the sort of mindset that I can get behind but only partially, I do think at some point you should be able to sell in order to minimize losses. But if you're one of those people that are just going to keep selling when you're down a little bit, then you're just going to be a shitty trader who isn't going to make any money from this in the least, you should know when to hold your cards and know when to fold them as well to be able to maximize profits and minimize losses.

Everyone is going to have trades that they should have and shouldn't of made, you can't live in the past when it comes to stuff like that though cause it's just going to lead to anger and desperation regarding the losses.
You only lose if you give up. try to wait patience is the most powrfull enemy don't be greed. do not sell your coins in low price. wait until you see the profit. remember bitcoins started with 0.10 cents in 2009  then now? you will a millionaire so hold and hold

What type of madman would've thought to buy BTC at .10 when they didn't even know what it is and then HOLD IT TILL NOW? I always think about like OH what if I did that, but the possibility of me doing that is so low I can't even delve on the past with stuff like that.
4019  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Loss almost 40%, should stop trading or not ? on: June 20, 2017, 11:37:17 PM
At this point bud, you should really look at the way you trade and what you're doing with it, because the whole BUY LOW SELL HIGH isn't going to work if you're just going to sell low and buy high, you're really just going to be asking to lose a ton of money. If I were you I would rexamine the way you trade, build up more capital and do try again at some point.

I personally, would rather be a more sit back and just throw money kind of trader then a day trader that's going to waste a lot of time everyday just buying and selling and eating all the fees that go along with it.

So don't stop, just think about the way you trade.
4020  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC is a roller coaster on: June 20, 2017, 10:46:58 PM
This is bound to happen and you're really unable to do anything about it, you're dealing with a currency that has people in it that are so keen on the price going up and up and moon shooting that they think they'll be able to just simply keep buying and buying and they'll make money at some point through all of this. I myself, am not one of the people that think this is possible in the least, there's going to be a time where the price has to fall due to news, panic etc.

Bitcoin I think, should be lower than it is right now. I don't feel as if the price should be so high based on the currency usability of Bitcoin which is pretty low. It's currently being used as a mostly trading coin but DOES have usage besides that, though I do think the price increase is simply from trading.

Roller Coaster = Due to massive amounts of trading happening at the moment.
