4001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Avni Yildirim - February 27 on: January 21, 2021, 12:25:17 PM
Probably an easy fight by Canelo, since this fight will happen early this year, we will certainly see more fights to come for Canelo.

Honestly I like a GGG vs Canelo fight, so I'm hoping it will happen this year.
Canelo has been dominating his opponents, it's only on GGG where we see him struggle a bit, and though he won against GGG, people would certainly watch this fight as the trilogy is an awaited one, why? because they are not a boring fighters.

I agree that GGG is the only fighter that can at least give Canelo that problem. However, Canelo said that he won't fight GGG and Canelo will stay at 168 lbs while GGG at 160 lbs.

And yes, this is going to be an easy fight for Canelo, no disrespect to Avni Yildirim and his team, they deserved the fight because he is the mandatory, but Canelo is far more superior fighter than him. I would say that Avni Yildirim is just a B-level fighter.
4002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs covid 19? on: January 21, 2021, 11:46:30 AM
With the recent launch of the Covid 19 vaccines, will it affect bitcoin, I assume that the Covid 19 vaccine will make the economy stabilize again, will this also affect bitcoin?  will bitcoin weaken or vice versa?

If the world economy are going to be stable because of the covid-19 vaccine, then I would say it will still have positive impact not just on crypto, but the rest of traditional financial markets. Maybe the confidence of investors will be very high and more likely to invest on everything that will give them more money like crypto markets.

So every good news about the pandemic will be beneficial. It may even push the price to like $80k to $100k before the end of this year. So let's remain optimistic this year.
4003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Toronto women win jackpot lottery on: January 20, 2021, 10:22:36 PM
Still base on luck, however, I've read some articles specially previous winners of lottery, that they don't change their numbers for many years, meaning they are going to stick with it through thick and thin and that is the 'secret' sauce.

So hearing someone winning with the same strategy, it might work for lottery bettors + with the element of luck behind you. I'm not a consistent lottery bettors though, but if I can bet, usually the same numbers, unfortunately, lucky luck is not smiling on me yet.  Smiley
4004  Economy / Economics / Re: Miami mayor considers investing in bitcoin with public funds on: January 20, 2021, 01:07:39 PM
Not the first US state though to accept bitcoin as tax payment, Ohio becomes the first state to accept bitcoin for tax payments, although they have change tune in less than a year, Ohio businesses can no longer use Bitcoin to pay taxes – but will they care?

But I wouldn't say that this is a bullish, but it is a welcoming development that could turn into a bullish signal if other states are going to follow what Miami is considering right now. And who knows this could be the norm in the next 5-10 years with bitcoin become a reserve asset for state government.
4005  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Good Wife show: Bitcoin for Dummies episode 9 years ago on: January 20, 2021, 12:35:12 PM
Probably those who have seen this episode might have bought bitcoin or not. Really hard to say, although those who took that chances that time could have been out in 2017, and still make money. But I would say that it is a good exposure to bitcoin that time and yeah looking back we really made a big stride as far as the price goes and adoption.

I haven't seen the episode and I will assume that there could be some error in that show, for cinematic effect.

Those who understand that time should have bought bitcoin at a cheap price, and it's interesting that this is already included in History of bitcoin.

So I would say that it has a big impact, but the effect was felt soon after and bitcoin becomes a buzz word. Probably it was a positive exposure for bitcoin back then. And again, those who really understood what bitcoin can bring have hoop in the bandwagon, early bag holders that could have made them a lot of money either in 2017's all time high or in 2021. Just 9 years of holding and you could be set for life.
4006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How bad will the bear market of 2021 get? How low will BTC go? on: January 20, 2021, 11:45:25 AM
Bitcoin is down considerably from it's peak. How low do YOU think bitcoin will go before it stabilizes?

I wouldn't call this a bear market, we are still above $30k? +10k from its last previous high in 2017. Bitcoin will never stabilised, we might see it trading sideways for some time though, until a imminent break out run.

The new incoming US administration has stated that it does not seek a weak dollar, will that be the deathblow to the future of bitcoin?

No, it might have a short term effect on bitcoin just like what we are seeing right now. But we are still in the bullish sentiments so I wouldn't be surprised if we go on another super fast rally in the coming months.
4007  Economy / Gambling / Re: Zamabet - Fair Crypto Casino on: January 20, 2021, 10:55:35 AM
Not a big deal but I'm not used on seeing a gambling site that only has a short detailed information about Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

There's also no FAQ and I thought only visible once registered but still didn't find the page.

There's a provably fair calculator but didn't test it yet. The Telegram group is just starting so reasonable to see only a few members there.

I also check the Terms of Use and it seems that it was plagiarised as well:

I would advise the people behind this gambling site to really make a detailed information. This is the first thing that a gambler read and check before playing in your platform. So I would suggest you update it as well that is tailor made for your site and not just copy from other source.
4008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: January 17, 2021, 10:10:41 PM
Anybody here looking forward to see the Lakers and Nets match up? with complete roster.

Must be a good NBA Finals if these two will eventually meet.

I like how Harden fitted to the team, but hopefully this kind of production will be consistent, one game is not enough to conclude that they have a solid chemistry. Remember, Irving has not been inserted in the line up yet, things could change if he is in the game, might as well trade him I guess if he is not effective to blend with these two MVPs.
Yeah, looks like he found his home again.
His high stats even in assists and rebounds proves he is trying to be better.
Well. I still don't like superpowered teams.  Grin Sorry about that.

I guess we will next time if the same thing will work out if Irving is inserted. In chemistry, there is no doubt with KD and Harden.
On the other side, the Rockets was left without a star and had a difficult time with the Spurs.

Harden had someone now whom he can trust, I just like how the way he handle the ball, he seemed to be a better PG than Kyrie Irving IMO.  I watch the live game but was not able to finish the game, what I like which I think the highlight of the game was the pass from Harden to Green and a great finish.

Green was the one of the recipient, perfect pass. Yes, seeing Kyrie Irving in the team might change the complexion again, nothing has change on Harden, hope he can improved and play some defense. Because in a close game, it might spell the difference between winning and losing.

Against the Lakers, it will be very interesting, might be a preview of the NBA Finals,

Regarding super power teams, do you guys remember the the late NBA commissioner David Stern has vetoed that would have sent Chris Paul to the Lakers, just imagine Paul and Kobe back then, that's already a super team, https://ca.nba.com/news/this-date-in-nba-history-dec-8-commissioner-david-stern-vetoes-chris-pauls-trade-to-the-los-angeles-lakers/s3zzl4imi12c1uhc5a85va9sw.

Lakers should not be the favorites this season.. or am I only dreaming?

I think we've seen how great the Nets roster already, a healthy Durant and Harden is enough already for this team to win the East Finals and beat the Lakers. Maybe too early to say but that's what I'm seeing for now, everyone is worried that Irving might destroy the chemistry, I hope we are wrong anyway. As they continue wining, it might increase their odds to win in the NBA Finals, who knows, they might become the top favorites and replace the Lakers.

When the news broke out about Harden going to Nets with Durant and Irving, the odds have shifted in their favour. We will see in inserting Irving will change the chemistry (although we really haven't seen that chemistry).

But the games against the Lakers will be a big test, and as far as the shape of Harden, I do agree that he is still out of shape, but it doesn't affect his performance. Nah, it's an exaggeration, probably just close to 240-260 tops. But I'm sure he is going to work hard and take the excess weight on him, not an issue.
4009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eventful 2020, covid pandemic, btc swift run and more.... on: January 17, 2021, 12:15:45 PM
Actually 2020 taught us something. We must not depend on single form of investment. We must have multiple options. Not only personal but nationally, we need to diversify our assets into many sectors. There are many countries, they rely on only one sector, like only farming, only upon garments, or tourism. But what if the main source of economy collapse? Along with fiat, crypto will also be a mainstream and 2020 taught us that, too.

Even without the pandemic outbreak, we should diversify our portfolio, it's just that 2020 taught us a valuable lesson. And talking about crypto, yes, its very eventual when the covid-19 news scare a lot of investors, including crypto, price went down so hard in the $3k'ish levels.

But we eventually get over it and before the end of the year, bitcoin goes on a new all time high, while some alts started to move as well. I'm also expecting that 2021 will be another eventful year for crypto enthusiast, we might see gets closer to adoption and more investors coming it to push the market to a levels we never thought was possible.
4010  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bit Coin dropped 12% since morning ,where is it going? on: January 17, 2021, 11:31:46 AM
As per coinmarketcap, we have drop +7% in the last 24 hours, pegging the price currently at $34,800. So dip continues, but the good news is that we are still above $30k and maybe this will be the support level until we either have a break out run start of the week.

So I would say that we might trade sideways for now, expect the price go on as high as $38k. Perhaps the market has somewhat slow down, although I haven't seen any negative news as of late, there are threads saying otherwise. But going to $10k? I doubt that we can go that low as the opportunity to buy exist at any levels.

4012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IMF makes a pool about digital currencies and the results are in on: January 17, 2021, 10:17:40 AM
I will say that hype still continues, digital currencies, crypto currencies, people can't distinguished it.  Grin

For them it they can exchange them to fiat then they will it as money. And I think that poll also reflects the majority of sentiments in this community, but one can argue that it's debatable. I think they carefully chooses the word here, Lol, but I guess it will be the same results if they replace it with "cryptocurrencies" and maybe they will get a lot of response, 80%++. Smiley
4013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Naoya Inoue vs Michael Dasmarinas (No date yet) on: January 16, 2021, 01:22:52 PM
It's questionable if Dasmarinas can offer resistance or can he keep up with Inoue's power and speed, the only fighter I can think of who can keep up and can offer resistance is Casimero, and this is a good tune-up fight for Inoue, we all want to see the two fighters go at each other Inoue and Casimero but we all know promoters and media want to maximize exposure and income for this fight and it could happen if the pandemic is contained.

Of course he can offer some resistance, but the question is how long? Maybe he can stand toe to toe with Inoue in the first few rounds, but after that Inoue will take over as he already know Michael's strength and re-adjust and probably this fight won't last 10 rounds, to be honest.

I dig Dasmarinas highlights here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPW_4JSxkMQ

We want to see Casimero vs Inoue in the future, the fight could be very close, Casimero is a brandish fighter and his style might pose problems for Inoue.
4014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Current Market Condition on: January 16, 2021, 12:42:06 PM
All markets are down now a days, Not only crypto but all other markets are also falling. I know fluctuations are part of the market. But when a market goes down badly, there is a reason. But I don't understand at all what is going on in the market right now, Because I didn't find any news about it. There is no news that makes me think that this could be the reason for downfall. If any of you know about it, please comment

I'm not seeing crypto market going badly as you describe, still above $35k so what's the big fuzz about?

About the recent dip, just normal, I think since we have been very bullish in the last 2 months or so, does it mean it will not stop. That's very wrong mindset in crypto, as you have said fluctuations are part of the market, so what we witnessed is how unstable it is.

We don't need news to see the market goes down, if people are selling it means that they're obviously liquidating their assets. And it's weekends, by the way, 90% of the time traders sell off to get profits to enjoy their weekends and then goes back Monday.
4015  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Yearn Finance fake site on: January 16, 2021, 12:19:11 PM
[..snip..]

Good catch.

Thanks, yeah that's the trick that these scammers are trying to pull off, if you are not very careful, it's hard to see the difference, because the look and UI display is the same.

[..snip..]

So be extra careful now because lots of new fake websites are being created by scammers.

Yes, lots of fake site are being created by cyber actors like mushrooms, if one site gets remove, they are ready with a fresh new site.

Unfortunately, the site is still up, we need more people to report it ASAP.
4016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua on: January 16, 2021, 11:00:30 AM
This fight is a defining moment for both fighters, whoever wins in this match will become the undisputed and lineal champion of our present generation, undefeated lineal and undisputed champion these are the titles that the winner is going to hold, so much is at stake on this fight, I'm sure both fighters will heavily prepare for this fight, this is the most important fight of their lives.

Yes, lineal belt goes as far back as Muhammad Ali: https://boxing.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_lineal_boxing_world_champions#Heavyweight

So it recent it's already Tyson Fury, and he wins this fight, he will then become the undisputed champion in recent memories. All British showdown as well, so whoever wins will also become the best British boxer right now and there could be more sponsorship coming along the way (more money as well).
4017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Australian Open 2021 Discussion thread on: January 15, 2021, 04:11:01 PM
As you have mentioned, Djokovic should be the clear favourite here.

But I wouldn't discount that he can be upset by the young tennis generations of today. They are slowly in the rise specially last year, and the big 3 or big 4 is already ageing, and I would say that Djokovic should be the last one amongst them that are going to stay. Federer's body is giving out, he will not participate in this tournament because he is still in recovery mode, while Murray is already declining very bad and will not be in the AO as well. While Nadal is on the struggle.
4018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: January 15, 2021, 11:56:38 AM
I get that Kyrie + Harden + Durant "if works" would be a great team, however even if it works, I doubt it would be a championship level team and if it doesn't work out and they have problems? Nets lost their future for absolutely nothing.

Again, they are betting that the trio will produce multiple rings for them at least because it breaks out. So we will see if the gamble will pay off or not.

Brooklyn nets is a big market but their teams are tanking, they decided to make a big improvement and in every action there's no assurance so we can understand why they are gambling this big for this deal.

They are trying to make things works for the sake of getting a title.

It's a gamble since we don't know if this trio will able to provide them the ring that they really aiming. All three superstars are sscoring
champs, it's a big test for Coah Nash on how he'll be able to blend this three plus the role players that will complete the starting five.

It will really be a big test for Coach Nash on how to contain the big 3. Usually though, there could be argument that as Nash is a good player himself, even got a nod for a MVP, he knows that are the inside the mind of these 3 and probably he could understand them better and make a better fit for the team.

So yes there could be a big pressure on Nash right now, but he can pass the test and do hope to bring them in this year's Finals.
4019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What threatens Bitcoin? on: January 15, 2021, 10:58:15 AM
I'll probably say that it's more on regulations, forcing exchanges to do full and mandatory KYC and there are going to be a FINCEN meeting if I'm not mistaken this year, so I'm sure there will be more regulatory framework as far as bitcoin and the rest of cryptos. And now that big companies are into bitcoin, these financial governing bodies will have to do something, specially if we are going to talk about 'tax' so there could be new guidelines.

51% attack? Nah, it will take loads of money to perform this, so the return is not worth the risk. Quantum Computers? it might take years to developed something that can break ECDSA algorithm. And if ever there was pretty sure that bitcoin as technology will adapt and evolved in the future (you can't code a software for a hardware that doesn't exist yet).
4020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: May 7th, 2140 on: January 14, 2021, 11:31:39 PM
As far as the last bitcoin mined, I don't think we need to wait though, perhaps our best gauge could be much early, I would say 2038, we would say that "almost bitcoin are mine".

Currently, we're almost at 19 million mine, and in 2038 closer to 20 million, and then the last million bitcoin will be mine after that.

In also coincides with this:
