4021  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India plans to introduce law to ban cryptocurrency trading on: November 03, 2020, 06:29:05 AM
^Legalizing is better than restring it because legalizing can help the developing country like India to create more opportunities for their people in the earning and also the government will get something in the return of tax.But banning it will stop the revenue completely and it is not going to be easy to track the people who still uses cryptos when it was banned.
4022  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am having difficulty receiving a bitcoin transfer on: November 03, 2020, 05:11:40 AM
I am having difficulty receiving a bitcoin transfer. It usually takes a couple of hours, but this time its a day and a half and counting.
Can anyone tell me what is going on, and when should I receive the funds? It says pending. This is the address: 13U4KkfPRUDKKr4yEUshx8rB1bM9MJbqnn

I sincerely appreciate any, and all your help.
Still there is no transaction yet on the address you provided so sender used transaction fee less than the recommended one so you need to wait until the Mempool gets clear. If you have the transaction hash of that transaction then it is possible to estimate how long it will take to get into blocks based on the transaction fees used for it.
4023  Other / Meta / Re: How many hours are you connected daily? on: November 01, 2020, 06:05:33 PM
Will it still count 1 day if my account is logged in for 24 hrs and i dont do any activity on my account (like surfing / posting ) ?
No, you won't be considered as online if you are not making any request to the site, if I remember it correctly you need to do some kind of activity for every 60 second to add one minute of activity to your account so simply logged in for one day won't be having any changes.

Oh that's why, mine's total time logged in was just 16 days, I've been here since 2017 but I stop for almost a year and a half to focus on my studies and career. I always check in here for 3-4 days per week cause I do so much work that I can't even focus reading because I'm too tired. Specially when I'm reading technical. I can't check in everyday just like some. I just allot days where I can browse threads here.  Per day I always spent around 1-2 hours only, and with a lot of alt-tabs.
Even few minutes is enough for someone to get updated themselves with crypto related news all around the world and also trends which got hyped and dumped.Longer time is needed only for someone who wants to get technical knowledge about cryptos and wants to establish themselves into a renowned member of bitcointalk.
4024  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown in Europe can their economy survive this?. on: November 01, 2020, 05:02:30 PM
If there is a sign of second wave then it is nit going to be restricted into a border, the whole world might face the second wave of corona and for sure it is going to affect the economy once it hit the range which forces the government to lockdown the country with no choice.Especially the festive season is coming in a month which is going to trigger the second wave sooner.
4025  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Mongolia is a crypto-friendly country on: November 01, 2020, 03:55:37 PM
Don't forget to add the source of the news. Smiley

https://cointelegraph.com/news/mongolia-s-largest-bank-to-offer-crypto-related-services

But you forget to add the word soon to it, so it means they decided to offer such services but they are not yet offering anything maybe in future they will. And also in the article posted on in cointelegraph they are talking about their own CBDC not anything bitcoin or other decentralized cryptos.
4026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: KYC for bounty hunters on: November 01, 2020, 02:32:22 PM
Don't you know that most of the bounties asks the participants to complete KYC at the time of token distribution, which are supposed to be happen at the time of joining itself as per your suggestion?

KYC is against the idea of cryptos so crypto community should never appreciate that.
4027  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Engagement on the Zero/Low-value post. on: November 01, 2020, 12:40:39 PM
I am bit confused when report such kind of threads on beginners section because few times my report was marked as bad but literally they are not supposed to be in this section even in the bitcointalk because the information available is reluctant only they way of approach differed.

Is the thread still there? Maybe we could take a look at one of them.
Some of the threads are still here but I don't want to point of the threads here because it may hurt the user personally which I never wanted to do anywhere.

I also noticed that Offtopic board gets more and more spammed with zero value posts and topics. Let's see two examples:

Not gay but attracted to women with penis
I NEED HELP, MASTURBATION IS KILLING ME

What in the world is the connection between transgenders, masturbation and Bitcoin?! Seriously, are such topics representative for BitcoinTalk? And the list is huge in Offtopic, these beings just 2 topics that caught my attention lately.

Myself rarely visit off topic because where most of the time discussions gets going which is nothing related to bitcoin and cryptos. What will happen when you report such posts in the off-topic section? Mods are actually removing those threads? I feel that few of my reports on that section remains unhandled for long time.
4028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How cryptocurrencies could allow financial inclusion ? on: November 01, 2020, 11:14:17 AM
I was discussing with some friends about how cryptocurrencies could change the human relationship in the next centuries. We were all agree that the banking system was increasing the gaps between poor and rich people. the richest hard becoming more rich and the poor more poor, specially in developing countries.
Some of them Think that we should need to adopt the anonymous currencies for the disruption, other think that we need more involvement of the government for mass adoption.

I will really appreciate to have your opinion.

Cryptocurrencies gives the chance for the people to do but if people don't take the opportunities earlier stages then it will go into the hands of people who are already rich and the story remain the same for next few centuries.
4029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren thoughts on Bitcoin on: November 01, 2020, 04:19:57 AM
Warren Buffett is an old fashioned guy, so he has no idea or just don't want to accept the decentralization. We know there are people who became millionaire by investing on bitcoin so not everyone supposed to invest on everything, they will go with their journal and try to destroy all others.
4030  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How does ChipMixer make money? on: October 31, 2020, 07:38:16 PM
Chip mixer is making lot of money that is why they can afford such an expensive campaign for almost 3 and half years with no change in their pay rate. You will get so much in returns if you do something worthy with free of costs. People who cares about the privacy are not going to be worried about few hundred bucks as tip when the job gets done so they are making a lot more than paying to their participants. Cheesy

But when comes to engaging on such threads it rarely occurs from my side unless I want to post sarcastic reply there.
4032  Economy / Gambling / Re: LOL.. so little warning sending coins to Roobet - =) ur gonna love this on: October 31, 2020, 04:39:08 PM
Your ethereum is ready for bets right? If not then you can call them shady because you missed out the betting opportunity due to their tos but here you just want to withdraw which is restricted for security measures.

There is no way to cancel your broadcasted transaction unless you want to double spend it. If you do then you sre the scammer. Smiley
4033  Other / Meta / Re: Image issue with bitcointalk and imgur. on: October 31, 2020, 06:51:21 AM
I didn't faced any issues when I posted an uploaded pic from imgur recently. Normally I copy past the BBcode in the copy link section and never had any issues on bitcointalk while posing them.

4035  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question regarding buying and storing Crypto on: October 30, 2020, 06:43:44 PM
Is Electrum a decent Bitcoin Wallet? Does anyone use it?
I am also considering cold storage but it seems like a lot of work just to keep bitcoin secure.
I was also reading about bitcoin core. I have a spare 500GB SATA SSD I could use to store the node on there.

Electrum is one of the best light weight wallet available for bitcoin and yes you can use it to store bitcoin for very long term with no issues but you should download the wallet from official website and verify the signatures before deposit any money to it. If you have device to run bitcoincore then go for it but if you are a beginner then I will suggest you to learn completely about core wallet before installing it.
4036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Death during illegal cockfighting raid on: October 30, 2020, 05:30:11 PM
You can't avoid accidents, yes here the death might not occurred if these illegal things were completely stopped but money speaks more to the government so people bribe and make the illegal things so much common.

People maybe got panic, they run over knowing there is a raid so did the chickens, unfortunately the chicken already wearing a "tari" or blade, and when there's panic, chickens gets panicked as well, maybe these policemen was not properly oriented on how to ensure safety on their raid.

It's unfortunate to see this kind of news that the authorities are the ones who suffered instead of the people violating.

At least in future these kind of things can be avoided by giving proper protocol to organize these games if these games are completely unstoppable even after banning them
This game will not be ban for sure, it's only temporarily ban due to the pandemic.
AFAIK cock fighting is still legal in Phillipines but most of the cock fights were organized illegally that is why authorities are struggling to control it. Police also need to have proper training to handle this and if this is normal happening in that country then better to have separate team for it
4037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How far will you go when you sent btc to a site with high fee but... on: October 30, 2020, 02:34:57 PM
As I couldn't complete the question in the title, below it is:

How far will you go when you sent btc to a site with high fee but could not get it into the site because either the fee was low based on that time or they credit it after some confirms. Fee has become the talk of crypto nerds and everyone thinks that it is already so high. What will happen when price is high and miners increase fee, mempool is clogged and you have your favorite winning bet available right there on the table but your btc is in your wallet and you want it to reach the gambling site anyhow to bet and win? Give your valuable opinions as they matter.
If your transaction already included into the block then it will get confirmed in the next few minutes, or else choose the casino which deposit ur funds with zero confirmation itself if RBF function is not enabled. Or else you have no other choices than waiting for your transaction to get confirmed. If you have no time to wait then send another transaction with highest fee to get your bet on time.

4039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi and Bitcoin - Thoughts and Goals? (+Poll) on: October 30, 2020, 05:30:45 AM
The previous discussion here:
Perhaps it cannot become a currency, but it certainly can become useful money.
Currency is a subset of money.
My point was about currency as a legal tender, i.e., fiat currencies.

To become a (real) currency, Bitcoin needs to handle everyday transactions, and it seems pretty far away from now. Plus, Bitcoin doesn't have to be mandated (FIAT) so that people will use it.
Since we are under the control of governments then chance of bitcoin and any decentralized currency can become a legal tender in any nation. But people may use bitcoin for buying things if they found it is more beneficial to do compared to fiat money payments.

About the transaction time, I agree with that because bitcoin may not be able to handle huge number of transactions at a same time because the transaction fee will be pushed to inconvenient rates.
4040  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Exaggerated Fee on blockchain ($134) on: October 29, 2020, 07:37:29 PM
240 sats/byte even is not going to be enough for now because people are pushing the fees more because they are rushing to exchange to cashout the profits made on the bitcoin investment. I advice you to use 100 sats/ byte as transaction which may lower the fee greatly and also you have chances for your transaction to get confirmed in the next few days.

Don't set it too low.
