4021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: March 31, 2014, 05:55:05 PM

In short Monetary System will allow to create currencies backed by NXT. New coins r created by "burning" NXTs. Actually these NXTs r not burned but locked. Anytime u can destroy created coins and get the NXTs back.
Shocked

Horry fug. That is huge! All the upside without the downside Wink

You can burn Nxt by sending them back to the genesis account.

yes but where is the value of that?
With CFBs proposition, you can really back a currency. In the way that if someone decides that the currency is now at a lower value than the amount of NXT behind it, he can just "trade" it against the backed NXT
4022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: March 31, 2014, 05:51:58 PM
I waited what impact will have releasing of NXT code. The community thought that it will drive the price up, but in reality it did nothing for NXT, just many people trying to copy it. They didnt, but I heard those people saying they are not going to copy NXT code because it is strangely written.
Not sure how important releasing of code is, but think we should do something to prevent copying it.

First rule of economy says that resources are limited, thats what gives them value.
NEM must be valuebale. I totally stopped caring for 1.gen crypto, just because how much of them is in existence. Dont let that happend to NEM.

Why would you say that? NXT code was released in the beginning of March...

It's a stake in BTC, so stop converting to fiat. BTC = BTC.

4024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BLTZ] [IPO Hybrid] BlitzCoin | proof of concept coin | pure speculative on: March 31, 2014, 04:06:43 PM
Hello

just two question.

there will he a POS system in the future on this coin?

If not how the money will keep the smooth and fast transaction?

Hey

1.) afaik - no

2.) quote from op: "After mining for rewards the network will be secured with several CPU miners, enough to secure and insure transactions. "
there is also the idea of a multipool: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=509173.msg5952954#msg5952954

2423 Blocks left go miner go ....

cheers

So the 5 cents per block will keep enough people mining to prevent a 51% attacK?

4028  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Scams on Localbitcoins on: March 31, 2014, 02:22:51 AM
LocalBitcoins
In person selling is great.
Online selling is awful.  I get hammered all day with scam attempts.
I haven't figured out the rules with Western Union.
Can a transaction be reversed once it says "on location"
I've been waiting until I have cash in hand to release coins.  But, do I have to do this?
Daily trips are annoying - and I'd like to go once a week and get all the payments.
But, I don't want legitimate buyers to wait.

Any other sellers have some insight?

The sender can always pull the payment back as long as you have yet to pick it up.

You do not have "guaranteed cash in hand" until...."you have cash in hand".

Do not release the bitcoin until you picked up the cash.

And even cash-in-hand is not 100% failsafe. A german community member was robbed and another one got fake bills. Now he has to carry around blacklights to check every single bill. Quite the hassle.

I would always prefer exchanges and then cashing out really fast.

One GH is 0.011 BTC at this moment:
https://cex.io

So if you don't want to charge for sentimental value, than 0.3 btc might be fairer
4030  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling BTC at Ebay on: March 31, 2014, 01:46:45 AM
I tried selling dogecoin on ebay. The listing was up for about a week. I never made any sales, and ebay eventually deleted my listing, saying it was miscategorized (I gues I didn't put it in the "virtual" category). I saw other dogecoin sellers claim that they were selling a "penny" and that the dogecoins came along with the penny. These sellers were actually shipping a real penny to the buyers. I guess it worked for them, but seems silly.

That penny trick is just so that you can prove that you send something. In the end you are at paypal/ebays final decision, and in the past they are not very crypto friendly. Also 8-10% fees is just ridiculous for digital currency, but that is another story...

4032  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Concerns regarding buying bitcoins offline(udercover cops) - What do you think? on: March 31, 2014, 01:42:28 AM
Do you guys really think that any state agency would go that far? Seems very tinfoilheaded from my POV Wink

4034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CHA] Chancecoin protocol, client, and coin for decentralized dice betting on: March 31, 2014, 01:38:41 AM
...
How are you going to get the Quick Draw numbers in the protocol? Hard-code a URL into chancecoind?

Not only that, wouldn't you need a feed to lock the drawings into the protocol or the timings can easily be skewed depending on parsing times?

If that's the case, it can just be Counterparty with a feed for the drawings and a small % going to the feed operator for the incentive.

glados = glados.cc as of tradefortress?

Hi TF Smiley
4035  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is financial leverage ratio? on: March 31, 2014, 01:32:38 AM
Good information about financial leverage ration. As a newbie in this field this information is very helpful to me.

yeah the advice is sound, but i don't really understand the reason for this thread?!?

4038  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Customer sign ups per month at exchanges on: March 31, 2014, 01:20:52 AM
It might be obvious and you have already done it. But have you contacted the exchanges directly? I am sure most of them will have no problem giving out rough datas.
4039  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New Bitcoin Trading Manual on: March 31, 2014, 01:19:57 AM
Perhaps you might like the Bitcoin trading e-book here:

http://bitcointradingpro.com

It's completely free (rather than $400) and you can see my last name (I'm the author)...  Wink

Looks more legit than the one op posted. Will give it a look!
