Maybe someone can explain something to me.

I offered 1000USD worth of nxt to 3 different popular crypto bloggers/vlogers with the only request in exchange being that they read my 3 page essay. Not a one of them has taken me up on this offer. I don't get it, its 1000 dollars for like 10 minutes worth of effort. They could dump it on the exchange 5 minutes later if they wanted. Maybe someone can explain this to me.

They probably don't take NXT seriously since it does not make any provisions for anonymous transactions, despite claiming to be a "second generation" currency.  Wink

but they could just dump it on the market if they wanted.

I think they don't know the conversion rate. If you put "YYY NXT (~1.2BTC)" perhaps that would grab their attention. Hell, I'd read your essay for $1k Roll Eyes But, understandably, you're also paying for the audience they target so I'm disqualified Cry

i did! i showed the conversion, it was 25,000 nxt. I wouldnt have offered that much because i have limited funds, but since i started finding my offers rejected i figured i could stand to offer more. i cant believe they are still rejecting at 25,000 Shocked

This is what I don't get. CfB stated that BCNext takes anonymity very seriously, yet there are no improvements in or talk of it for Nxt.

Mixing Service concept is not ready. If u check the list of features, u'll see "(concept not ready)".

U don't expect BCNext to solve everything by himself, do u?

Trustless mixing is a bit tricky but transparent forging allows for trusted mixing really easily and it also provides a way for forgers to build really strong reputations. just sayin.

I already read your essay... send the NXT to me!!!    Cheesy

Thats one requirement satisfied. Now all you have to do is get a wildly successful highly trafficked crypto blog or vlog and the nxt will be yours Wink

People actually buy this scamcoin?

Valuable insight there, stay away then and continue investing in DigiBytes and Klondikecoin... just a few gems I saw in your post history. Smiley
100% premine? Biggest scam I've ever heard of.

There are actually massive advantages to pure proof of stake. I prefer to think of it as a massive gamble. If the seed round investors don't distribute enough of their coins than we will all be screwed (themselves included). If they do than we will be filthy rich.
4027  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reddit’s science forum banned climate deniers. on: January 14, 2014, 01:26:06 AM
Shows how little you understand about science if you think believing in a scientific consensus is "blind faith in a centralized power."

I won't be posting in this thread any more, I've expressed my point. It's futile to argue with ideologues, which is why you were banned from the discussion on reddit.
I've tried to post from a number of angles why it is not even possible to define 'denier' and hence why banning them is ridiculous.  It means someone is banning essentially anyone that does not agree with his particular view however he chooses to define it at that moment.  And that's literally ridiculous - the discussion could be cap and trade, Katrina, Antarctica peninsula melt, bird migration, sea level rise, whatever.  Disagree with someone and he shouts "Denier!  You banned!"

Leave the discussion if you like, but you should be able to understand my point.  As for the ideologues, if you believe in a consensus then the number of ideologues on the warmie side vastly outnumbers the count on the non-warmie side.  Hence, those doing the banning are all ideologues.

Now a question.

Are ideologues okay if they are warmies, but not okay if they are deniers, which is not even definable?

Separate and non equal treatment by Reddit, right?

Get it?

I dont think it would be that hard to draw a box around a denier. Its probably something like a person who believes that expending resources to mitigate, prevent, or reverse the effects of anthropomorphic climate change would either not have the intended effect or perhaps would not have benefits that outweigh the costs.

Anon I suppose you are familiar with adam3us achievements/background: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=101601

He is very knowledgeable regarding zerocoin.
The zerocoin dev team ignore me - I think we should approach him to help us investigate whether zerocoin protocol is compatible with NXT PoS.

Can you approach him instead of me? You are more skilled in the mining algo and you would communicate better.

If he succeeds the bounty is 1M NXT paid by me (of course they could be paid partially/full from the 13M but we need to speed things up as much as possible)!

What do you think?

well my first thought would be that, for the same reasons the bitcoin devs rejected zerocoin, it may not be wise to implement zerocoin on this chain even if it were possible. zerocoin is extremely resource intensive and its not one of those things where that issue can be mitigated by only having a few people use it when they need it, zerocoin requires network effects. Its probably best for someone to clone nxt and put zerocoin on the clone chain and people who are buying drugs or hits can use that chain, and they can pay the exorbitant price for that, while normal people like us buying toilet paper and toothpaste can pay the lower fees for less anonymity.

The use of 64 bit encryption for 0 transactions account is a CHOICE by BCnext. It was designed to be bruteforcable.
Only one outgoing transaction and the account is 256 bit encrypted forever.

The goal is to allow NXT to be minable in the future. All DarkNXT are not lost forever and will be recoverable with enough haspower  (in 10 years with specific ASICS, 50 years with gpu or whatever it take with cpu. The main point is to make those coin not lost forever)

Can you imagine a scammer putting such a ridiculous amount of thought into every subtle little nuance of his invention? If he was going to fleece us would he have really needed that ABSURD level of attention to detail? If nxt is a scam it will have to go down in history as THE most ridiculously elaborate and well thought out scam in the history of the world. Cheesy
4030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT Ought to be Taken Seriously on: January 13, 2014, 08:03:17 PM
The NXT-concept keeps be busy and I think it is really interesting and has a future. I found this article which explains a lot. Why NXT Ought to be Taken Seriously

Happy reading!
There is no need to take nxtcoin seriously. Its biggest crypto scam of epic scale.  Its based on model of FED.
First of all , it's not fungible. But bitcoin is fungible up to millionth. The basic criteria of a currency is not saisfied with nxt.
A billions were released by an insider team via exchange even before the code was open sourced.
Scam scam scam! Dont understand how people fall for this.
Its biggest scam in the history of crypto currencies.

Clearly you either didn't read or understand my article. It makes the case for why it should be taken seriously even if it is a total scam.

people who invest in something that they dont understand the workings of are crazy! you may get lucky once or twice but eventually you will get taken really hard by a snake oil salesman. with that being said i genuinely hope that you get lucky.

What about bitcoin? Who expects Jo Public to understand crypto currencies at all?  Do you need to know how a car works to drive in one? What about when you get sick and go to hospital - will you only take medicine you have researched and 'understand the workings of'?

We trust 'expert opinion' and jump into the unknown. That is human nature.

In the real world we are all using instinct and intuition to make decisions. Understanding of something completely is very rare - even machines.

My instinct says eMunie is going to be very big because I have tested it many times and watched Fuserleer interacting with his team of beta testers in their shoutbox. They have a real community now - they know names and skype etc - they are friends. That is something NXT does not have. Who cares about BCNext or CFB as people? Who knows them? Dan Hughes has many friends who will help him, because they know him. It is beyond self-interest for them now. It is their collective mission to finish and promote emunie.

There is good stuff going on here, but eMunie is a bigger threat than many of you know. I hope both can coexist.

You do not need to invest in bitcoin in order to make advantage of it. As an example, if i buy some bitcoin to send to my family "back home" and then they sell the bitcoin to buy food, we have all used bitcoin but none of us have "invested" in it per say.

I got one question for CfB or anyone who knows.

Is it possible to attack the system sending a lot of transactions yourself to another accounts you own, so it is easier for you to HIT the next block and so on?

I guess not, but I want explained and detailed answer to understand.

Thanks! Smiley

No it doesnt work like that. If you divide your stake in half than each half will only be half as likely to hit as the previous whole. Meaning that dividing it up into parts wouldn't make you any more or less likely to hit.

Let's try this without any prejudices  Smiley

if you do that than 90% of the coins in the giveaway end up in one or two addresses.
4035  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people think income tax is ok? on: January 12, 2014, 09:52:38 AM
The power to tax is the power to destroy. I think income tax and property tax are just wrong. What do you think?

Garbage service, TV, fire departments, food, clothing, electricity.

your government uses your tax money to buy your cloths for you?

anyone know where i can find some technical details about the operation of emunie? I need to figure out by the end of the month whether to drop some capital into this thing but its hard to find specs. i read somewhere that the money supply is elastic so thats concerning but i also read somewhere else that node operators are the ones who receive the new money and having emunie is what allows you to operate a node.

volume drying up on dgex, 57.6439 btc atm for 24 hour volume. Hard to trust a price coming out of such low volume. Where is most of the trading happening right now? is peercover making up for dgex?

The funds being distributed here do not belong to me, they were donated by generous individuals, I am simply the trustee charged with distributing these funds.

how many belong to you?

1,080,000 why?

Very cool of you to do this. Though one minor point. I'm not sure that a clone can be considered a descendant. Tongue
