@DigitalMonk, the questions you ask already have hundreds of answers, you just need to learn to use the forum search option. Also, it wouldn't hurt to read the forum rules, unless you digital monks have some rules against it?

32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

4022  Other / Meta / Re: Additional security measures to keep account secure on: August 30, 2022, 01:13:30 PM
It is important to note that 99% of the world's internet users are not using the internet to learn about how to secure private keys.

They are not even important in this story, because here we are discussing additional ways to protect the accounts of the members of this forum. Each of them should know what a private key is, and how it can help them protect their BTT account.

Furthermore, there is no single 80% secure way to save private keys; they are lost over time due to accident, malware attacks, phishing attacks, and most of the time our gadget is stolen or broken down. Offline save is not safe, nor is online save, and because there is no 100% proven way to secure private keys, we will continue to post stories about lost private keys on the internet.

There are ways that are 99% safe, because nothing is 100%, and everything you listed can be avoided and prevented. Careless people keep losing their devices, becoming victims of malware and phishing, but do you think any additional protection would help them? From 2014 until today, I have not lost a single address, let alone a private key, nor have I been a victim of malware/phishing - and I am no expert in online security, but an average internet user who has learned some basic things that make me relatively safe when I am online.

I don't know about you, but I throw away my wallets every two years. Staked addresses help, but they are insufficient.

It's the first time I've heard of such a strategy, and I don't see the point in it. I keep everything related to Bitcoin no matter how unimportant it seems, because I never know if I will ever need it. It's not that I need a warehouse for that, everything fits on a regular USB stick that costs a few $.
4023  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SUGGEST YOUR VALUABLE THOUGHTS on: August 30, 2022, 10:55:50 AM
To begin with, I would advise you not to use capital letters because it is not considered appropriate for the forum, so turn off the caps lock. When you do that, look at your post history and ask yourself if you don't already have an online job since you are an active bounty hunter?

If you want a better online job, you will still have to work a little harder to develop some new and sought-after skills, and programmers, web designers and web security experts are always in demand.

Maybe you already have some skills that you can offer to the forum members? In that case visit Services
4024  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin hit 2022 low again? on: August 30, 2022, 10:30:15 AM
I would not rule out the possibility of a new price crash, because the terrain we are on now is very slippery and some new extremely negative news can have a very negative effect on the price. In addition, the majority of investors realized that we are in a bear market and that they cannot expect significant profits in the short term, which together with the news of inflation, which is measured in double digits, dissuades the majority of retail investors from deciding to invest in Bitcoin.

Moreover, many will be forced to sell part or all of the Bitcoin they have in order to pay bills that are getting bigger and bigger every month, and this will create even more pressure on the price. All things considered, the current price is more than good, although many are disappointed after they were convinced that the bulls had taken control and taken us to $25 000.
4025  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dormant Bitcoin Addresses on the move on: August 30, 2022, 10:09:14 AM
I think that people are just looking for a reason to explain the current price, and it seems that blockchain analysis is something from which endless speculations are drawn. Of course, sometimes the big whales really sell part of their BTC, but with 19+ million BTC mined so far, is our market so weak that a few thousand or tens of thousands of BTC can have a significant impact on the price?

It seems that someone would like to lower the price of BTC even more, because there are too many people who are constantly calling for a new bottom in order to fill their bags and get rich again when the new bull run starts.
4026  Other / Meta / Re: Additional security measures to keep account secure on: August 30, 2022, 09:27:32 AM
What if you lose access to your staked address private keys/wallets? Many people were fcked up as a result of this. Is this option reliable enough?

For some, this method is reliable because private keys are something that anyone who understands what it is, pays the greatest possible attention to. So if someone manages to hack my BTT account and the email associated with it, I'm sure I still have the option to recover my account using the signed address. Anyone who can't follow these simple rules shouldn't even be online.

An additional measure that exists is also recovery via IP address, although I assume that this is only usable for those who do not use VPN/Tor.
4027  Economy / Economics / Re: Taliban Leadershipeadership Impose Ban on Cryptocurrency in Afghanistan on: August 29, 2022, 03:53:25 PM
I wonder why is everyone surprised a totalitarian zealot-like regime would ban anything that isn't explicitly allowed by their holy book, don't we already have history to confirm how they acted before? But it's really funny, every country that acts like an enemy of the US and wants death to the dollar is also against Bitcoin, while the US is quite the opposite, makes you think things for a bit.

Maybe they think that things have changed in that country because the peacekeepers have gone home? It is incredible how many people think that the Taliban really wanted to change, because in the minds of these people, nothing has changed in the past 50 years, and it certainly won't in the next 500 years.

I wonder what would happen if Bitcoin was declared legal tender in Afghanistan? Maybe the streets would be full of armed people who would shout Bitcoin Akbar, while on the way they would beat up some kid who was found using FB on his phone or had a song by Miley Cyrus Roll Eyes
4028  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Investigation] Possible account farming cheating bounty — Massive!!!. on: August 29, 2022, 03:21:48 PM

Maybe this picture is just an example of how bounty hunters are organized, and maybe now they already work in much bigger premises like warehouses and factories? Be that as it may, although I understand that it is difficult for people to survive (especially today), but is it even possible to earn something from all those worthless tokens that sometimes they don't even get for their work?

~snip~
Looking at it, how many people who are on this thread as of now would want to be associated with the projects these people are posting / tweeting / writing about?

I know that I would never agree to be associated with such and similar projects, but there are always those who will not only promote such projects, but also manage them for the right price. According to the criteria of this forum, some bounty managers are members with very high trust, and they don't mind being associated with such projects.
4029  Economy / Economics / Re: Taliban Leadershipeadership Impose Ban on Cryptocurrency in Afghanistan on: August 29, 2022, 02:43:38 PM
Can't spell "Taliban" without "ban"  Grin

And then someone else wonders why those ban-maniacs finally banned cryptocurrencies, when in that country they ban even music and television.

Jokes aside, it's not surprising that a country with crumbling economy and religious fundamentalist government would ban crypto, these types of people see freedom as a threat to their rule. The good news is that Bitcoin was created to operate in any conditions, including under threats from government, so its users in Afghanistan will still have access to it, they just need to be extra careful to not get caught.

After 20 years under the Americans and others who were there on a mission to introduce democracy, we now see how successful they were in that. It's only a matter of time before the Taliban are completely back to their old ways (if they haven't already), but as long as they don't engage in terrorizing outside their own country, the West will pretend that there are some good guys out there.
4030  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Buying a Hardware Wallet in US on: August 29, 2022, 01:59:04 PM
Never open Amazon in your browser and type "Ledger" or "Trezor". OP needs to make sure he goes to the official website and finds the links to the official Amazon resellers from there.

I don't see that the Trezor site lists official sellers on Amazon, but only says the following:

We also have Amazon warehouses in the US, Canada, UK, and EU.

The links exist only for direct resellers, so the OP will have to be careful about who he buys from. I've never bought anything from Amazon, but I guess there is some sort of seller rating system like on other platforms.
4031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are all Hodlonaut on: August 29, 2022, 01:35:17 PM
I looked at what's happening on hodlonaut's Twitter and I see that he sent a question to both CEOs whose exchanges are being sued and as far as I can see, he got a response from Jesse Powell, who instead of a donation suggests some kind of NTF fundraiser, which according to him is the future of collecting donations - as if it wasn't aware that more than 57 BTC and $55,000 have already been collected. If I understood correctly, he would donate even 50 ETH in that case... To me, this is a more than clear message of how much he cares about Bitcoin.

4032  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: August 29, 2022, 10:53:40 AM
Update note: My report of these posts to moderator marked as Good, but neither user is banned.

I would not agree that the decision is correct, but it is not the first time that plagiarized posts are deleted without a perma ban. So this is probably a temporary ban for both members, considering that they have not been active for several days.
4033  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Trust wallet tron multi signature scam.. on: August 29, 2022, 10:44:29 AM
@ScamViruS, It seems to me that someone relatively recently mentioned just this or a similar example, but things like this are really worth warning about, because even I wouldn't understand how a scammer can profit if he gives someone his seed, and until now the situation was quite the opposite. This would confuse me personally, but I would not fall for a scam because I do not deal with altcoins transactions, nor would I engage in this way of helping someone.

I always say that those who are looking for trouble can expect it if they communicate with unknown people, so it would be advisable for such people not to use Telegram, Twitter and similar means of communication if they are not aware of the dangers that await them there.
4034  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spend your valuable times and get valuable knowledge on: August 29, 2022, 10:27:51 AM
As a Newbie i want to spend more and more time in this forum to gain more and more information for my intelligence.

If you haven't already, I suggest you familiarize yourself with the rules of the forum, because it is something that will help you better understand how the forum works, which will be good for you and all the other members of the forum. One of the rules says: "Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed".

You can read more about all the rules here -> Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ

Regarding the forum and the time you want to spend here, my personal opinion is that it is definitely time well spent, especially if you want to study what happened throughout the history of Bitcoin through various discussions of forum members. Although I have officially been on the forum since mid-2015, I often find some interesting information that I did not know about before. Of course, the forum is not the only place where you can find information, but it is certainly a much better place than various social networks ruled by various so-called crypto experts and scammers.
4035  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe's drought the worst in 500 years on: August 28, 2022, 02:42:01 PM
This is cheap propaganda shit. Associated gas flaring is a common practice in oil production, and flaring is a common practice in LPG plants (this is a kind of safety valve, gas is flared so as not to poison all living things and so that there is no explosion threat). But in Europe, of course, asses are burning from this against the backdrop of a shortage of gas supplies and skyrocketing prices. It happens.

For you Russians, there is nothing else but propaganda, you don't even call war by its right name, even though you occupied 20% of the territory of a country and killed thousands of people whom you call Nazis because they defend their homes and lives. I know very well how LNG works and what has to be done for safety, but this is no ordinary operation - and as far as I'm concerned, you can burn all the gas you have if it makes you happy.

Move to live in Russia, we have gas and electricity at an affordable price.  Smiley

I am perfectly fine where I am now, and I will gladly pay any price if it is for a noble cause. In addition, most of the EU countries are on Russia's blacklist, so we are not welcome to try your hospitality, and as far as I can see, the Russians are fleeing to the west en masse because Putler is looking for new cannon fodder for the war.
4036  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin do $19k again before a bull market? on: August 28, 2022, 02:08:00 PM
Quote
Will Bitcoin do $19k again before a bull market?

I think that all of you who are impatiently waiting for a bull market should take a look at history and then maybe understand that we are in a bear market that will very likely last not only until the end of this year, but maybe throughout the next year as well. It's not a rule, but it's a repeating pattern that's proven to be true - so it's logical not to expect a bull market before the next halving in 2024.

As for how low the price will fall, everything depends on how well the world economy will manage to cope with all the challenges and how successfully various FUD theories will be spread, like this one that has been going on for months and every week we discuss when the BTC from Mt.Gox will be returned to its owners and then they will all dump 140 000 Bitcoins at once and the price will crash so low that Bitcoin will never recover from that.

You don't need to be an expert to understand what's happening on the market, but some people obviously think that someone can tell them what will happen in the future - for those who don't know, there are hundreds or maybe even thousands of such experts who sell their expertise on social networks.
4037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin versus Banks on: August 28, 2022, 01:30:11 PM
Bitcoin is too perfect for its own good. Humans are definitely far from being perfect. We lie, we get jealous, we don't want to get punished for our mistakes.
That's why bitcoin will never be as big as banks because humans will always prefer corruption&lies over perfection&honesty.
I am sorry but banks will win this one.

Banks may be struggling to some extent with Bitcoin, but is Bitcoin fighting the banks? Although there is some opinion that Bitcoin was created to be a single world currency, and that the banks should be defeated in some imaginary war, I would not agree that those who think so are right. In most cases, banks only act as intermediaries between investors in Bitcoin and crypto exchanges, which means that they actually help as many people as possible come into possession of the same.

Banks will not win in anything because there is no war that some imagine, but Bitcoin on the other hand wins every time someone understands the difference between fiat and Bitcoin and decides to accept the alternative.
4038  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe's drought the worst in 500 years on: August 28, 2022, 10:55:14 AM
I think the root of Europe's climate problem is the weakening of the Gulf Stream. The weakness of the warm current makes the climate less mild and more continental. If this version is workable, after an abnormally hot and dry summer, Europe will face a frosty and harsh winter.

You should take a look at the prognostic models for the winter of 2022/23 and you will see that most of the models point to temperatures that will not be extremely low and that the warm autumn will last until November. Of course, this does not fit into what would suit Russian politics and some kind of perverse feeling of satisfaction that Europeans are freezing while you burn tens of millions of dollars worth of gas every day that you do not want to sell to the Nazis in the West.

Russia is burning an estimated $10 million worth of natural gas a day near its border with Finland, analysts say, even as it threatens to push Europe into a winter energy crisis by restricting exports to Germany and other countries.
State gas giant Gazprom is burning off, or "flaring," about 4.34 million cubic meters of gas a day at a new liquified natural gas (LNG) facility, according to analysis of heat levels and satellite data by Rystad Energy.
4039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin versus Banks on: August 28, 2022, 10:31:28 AM
~snip~
What are your thoughts about this?

I saw that picture a few days ago in WO and I don't think it has any importance in the sense that someone will understand Bitcoin better if you show them that banks are centralized and Bitcoin is decentralized. The fact that according to some research 99% of people in the world who have access to banks still prefer a centralized system over Bitcoin speaks for itself.

Some of these people certainly don't understand Bitcoin or haven't heard that it even exists, but most are not ready to be their own bank. Put a Bitcoin wallet with $100 on one side and a bank card with the same amount on the other and offer it to the average person on the street, what do you think they will choose?
4040  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A rooted phone for a crypto user safe ? on: August 28, 2022, 09:58:08 AM
Some general opinion is that a rooted device is more insecure for applications like crypto wallets or bank apps, but it all boils down to being careful when downloading such applications and being careful about what permissions you give them on your device. It is also important that the device has all the security updates to prevent any attack vector through all the vulnerabilities that exist on Android devices (I assume you have such a device).

Regarding the use of crypto wallets on smartphones, I hope you know that these should never be our main wallets where we store significant amounts, but usually hot wallets on the go where we periodically transfer smaller amounts.

I personally have never unrooted a smartphone, but there are guides on how to do it, so you can read them. Of course, always be careful when doing such things, you don't want to brick your device.
