4021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 29, 2021, 11:26:28 AM
What's up with the LA Lakers?
They brought back Howard, and now they're bringing back Rajon Rondo. Might as well, bring back McGee. This is going to be the championship reunion roster with extra twist to make it a solid line up.
I guess they have better chemistry with Rondo and Howard in the line up.
We can't trust Westbrook or Melo or the other new guys to blend in immediately with the Lakers system. So, I guess the Lakers management are looking to ease the possible scenario by bringing back these 2 guys.
They are bringing back the old team. When I say "old" yes, it's the old that you are thinking of. Veterans.  Grin Lakers management is going to use experience wise gameplay versus other teams with young players and less experience.
It might work, just like how it worked out last time they grabbed the championship. Keys for them to win it again is Anthony Davis having a healthy body and so is Lebron James. Westbrook and Melo will be their bonus if ever they can create their own offensive attacks. I think they want Rondo to equal the speed they need for the 2nd team.

Having Westbrook would already convince me that they have a higher chance of winning next season compared to the Nets. Westbrook is an all-around player, hs is Mr. triple-double and he can surely bring the game intensity with the LA Lakers if he will play the same role in his past teams.

Lebron's burden would be lesser, hence, I think he will not be frustrated as there's other players that would contribute for them to ensure a playoff spot and will be healthy in the playoffs.
4022  Local / Pilipinas / Re: May tax ba ang Cryptocurrency? on: August 28, 2021, 09:51:15 PM
Talagang mahihirapan sila.

That's true, they will have a hard time regulating crypto because transactions are not only happening in the Phlippines, we also have a lot of transactions from different parts of the world and we are using exchanges that are not registered in the Philippines. If they have a hard time regulating online selling happening in the Philippines, then you know it's not possible for crypto.

4023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: August 28, 2021, 09:30:58 PM
The last time I checked he was at +550. Anyway I will be going for him. Canelo is not looking like he is invincible. Already we had an upset a few days ago (Yordenis Ugás vs Manny Paquiao) and I guess the time is right for another one.

It's risky but it's a big jackpot if Caleb Plant upsets Canelo and you bet on Caleb Plant, but I beg to disagree on the comparison when it comes to upset, upsets can happen but it is not something people expected, and no one expects an upset it just comes when all least expects it to happen, could be a lucky punch or the other boxer is injured or come unprepared.
^ That is possible for Caleb even it seems he is probably an underdog here and the odds were in favor of Alvarez, that is right, we can compare this fight to the fight of Manny Pacquaio and not all underdog has no chance to win. This is a very interesting fight and the perfect match, they are almost the same stat that could be anytime Caleb will possibly be upset Alvarez in the middle of the 12 rounds.
The odds are here, https://www.oddschecker.com/boxing/saul-alvarez-v-caleb-plant/winner, there is a chance that Caleb will probably become in a favor of the odds.

Caleb at +600, that's a pretty decent odd and I understand why Canelo is heavily favored because he beat all his opponents this year without any struggle. Put him an opponent of any size and he will dismantle it, he becomes a technical fighter, he works using his mind and you can see why he is very smart in the ring, not too aggressive to KO an opponent but always find an opening to hurt his opponent.

and i don't think these bookies will change their mind even if the fight is getting closer. they will favour Canelo here. but if there will be an upset (not likely to happen imo), those who will bet on caleb will celebrate big time. but do you think caleb has the chance on canelo here? let's say, he will prepare and focus on his training, more than 2 months of prep. maybe he will really a very good toe-to-toe fight inside the ring.

They'll not gonna adjust the odds unless there's major news happen that would affect either fighter. For now, we stick with the betting odds but unfortunately I can't find it in our crypto bookies here, so I have no choice but to wait until it becomes available.
4024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to buy some low cap coins on: August 28, 2021, 07:59:43 PM
There is a possibility that MATIC will be the best market cap for the long term, as we saw Cardano (ADA) from mid to now rank in the top three on Coin Market Cap, and MATIC will follow like ADA, from now on we have confirmed the market popularity , can we buy at the current figure.
How do you know if Matic will do the same thing as Cardano ? Aren't the Matic and Cardano teams different and each coin always has a different path to develop? try to clarify this so that not many people are confused about what you are saying.

Probably he based it only on his own perception, Matic also has a decent trading volume and probably their development continues.
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/polygon/

It only depends on how we see the project in the future, if we think they are capable of developing the project like what ADA did and has been doing, then the potential is really high. As for me, with the supply of Matic and its current price, i think it's still quite overvalued.
https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2021/08/25/philippines-looks-to-tax-hit-blockchain-game-axie-infinity-report/

Ang tanong dyan is pano yung percentage e di naman nila ma tetrace mga transaction mo unless you are going to declare it.

4026  Other / Off-topic / Re: Pacquiao vs Ugas rematch on: August 27, 2021, 09:59:15 PM
Pacquiao once said that boxing is his passion, so no one can stop him as long as people would still watch his fight. Let us ony not talk about passion here, but more on the money or the purse, he will get. In the Philippine peso, in just one fight, he can already make a fortune so there's a reason why he keeps fighting because he also wants to collect that money.

look at this figure, and tell me if one would not choose to get it in just one fight.

Quote
Per BusinessMirror, Pacquiao is expected to earn a $5 million guaranteed purse and could earn up to $25 million depending on how well the pay-per-view sold. The Fox Sports PPV price is $74.99, per Michael Benson of TalkSport.

Good news for SMB fans.

Terrence Romeo on pace for comeback in Pampanga games

Seeing Romeo playing with a healthy SMB, makes me believe that they might win the championship this conference. They have a lot of scorers and they are good in defense as well, CJ Perez and Romeo if they will play with good chemistry, I think they can carry the SMB to the championship, of course with the help of JMF.

Indeed it's good news, but what would make it better if he will not be injured again and he will finish the conference playing like he usually does in the past. Terrence Romeo is one of my favorite PBA players due to his style and moves on the court, and he impressed the fans more when he joined the FIBA world and showed his talent despite his size, so I would always love to see him play again.

SMB is a superteam, there's no doubt they will win this conference despite they are not at the top of the standing. Magnolia and TNT seemed to have improve already, but once they are in the elimination round, they will be challenged and a team that has enough experience and pride will win and that is the SMB.

4029  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: August 26, 2021, 09:36:01 PM

10 pesos fee is nothing compared to the fees exchanges are charging us, but we are still thankful na may free charge and instapay now.

I don't know who is The Moon but the general market trend is up atm, so waiting for another bull market can be reasonable. After few months, probably market will boom and BTC will touch the $100k price. I suggest checking the analyses by pro traders, better to be careful than sorry.

Just make a simple approach and things will be easier, there's no need to check on experts analysis, by experience alone, we would already know if the market is bullish or not, and IMO, we are currently in the bullish state where altcoins and bitcoin are bullish recently.

Bitcoin's movement in one month is very positive.

From July 25, ($34k) to August 24 ($50k)
4032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: August 23, 2021, 09:25:22 PM
Nobody gave Ugas a chance against Pacquiao and he won the fight with ease. Plant deserves the benefit of the doubt. I doubt he will win but he isn't so far out of his league that he can't pull off an upset if Canelo has an off night or if he makes adjustments in his style that Canelo isn't prepared for.
Yes, anything may happen as long as the athletes aren't out of the league, because those boxers could exhibit extraordinary skills that they haven't shown in previous battles.

They're fighting for a cause, so it's a matchup, and each boxer is the greatest in the league.
I'm sure Plant will come up with a way to improve his abilities in order to battle Canelo.

Plant is an underrated boxer, he never loses a single fight, so it's still good to back him to win in this fight against the best in the division. We all know that Canelo could beat anyone, but who knows upset could happen. Caleb Plant had a record of 21 wins and 12 are coming from KO and all the other wins are from UD, which only showed how great he is as a boxer.

it's always good to back an undefeated fight especially if they are listed as an underdog. I won some bets in the past using the same strategy, particularly on the fight of Loma vs Lopez which is a great fight and the current champion upset the heavy favorite Loma.

For betting odds, we can check the comparison here.

4033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: August 23, 2021, 08:54:19 PM
The problem with this division is that there are no US names, maybe except Donaire who have been campaigning for many years in this division, but I do think that Inoue and Casimero is not yet a household name, they are just starting to build one in the US soil. So both of there promoters, specially Inoue, should  established their names first, create more hype so that US fans will buy their tickets and make more money for Bob, just like what he did to the career of Manny Pacquiao.
The problem with this is that there is no reputation builder that is stronger than to beat the best when it matters, Manny eventually became a household name not because his promoters and marketing tactics were excellent but because he was a legendary fighter, if anyone wants to reach that status then the way to do so is not by avoiding good fighter in order to increase hype but by training harder and increase their abilities as boxers even further.
if Inoue would not fight our Filipino boxer Casimero, then he better move up in weight so he could find a great match.
He would, that was the latest news now.

Naoya Inoue Wants Casimero This Year, ‘I Want To Beat Him To The Ground’

That news hopefully will come into reality, if there's indeed a fight this year then we can expect a contract to be sign soon as its necessary that it will sign the soonest so both fighters will start their respective training in preparation for a big fight this year.

I don't think there's a problem with the money they can potentially make in this fight, besides, Inoue is just starting to build his name in the US, so fighting the toughest challenger per paper is definitely the most interesting thing to do for him now.

That's up to the promoters as they will be the one who would invest in this fight.
4034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: October and December are the months of Crypto ??? on: August 23, 2021, 08:06:49 PM
We have no proof of this, since nothing is confirmed in the crypto industry. However, we are lucky that the situation is quite different than before. Short-term is my plan. In the long run, this is still a great price, but I wouldn't consider it the best entry point. Do not buy at ATH! It's already pumped up and way overpriced. There will be better days ahead. It is great to know that the market is still growing and opportunities are knocking at your door. Take action now to maximize your chances of success.

Well said, buying at ATH is a suicide.. Control our emotions and wait for the right time to buy, and that is when the market will dip. Just this year, we've seen a big correction that brought bitcoin to below $30k, and now it's already at $50k, so if you bought at $28k (which is the lowest IIRC), you are already in good profit per paper now.
4035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what is ETH and BNB Prediction on: August 23, 2021, 07:40:08 PM
I am very bullish now. after the B event. as per my experience and knowledge

ETH will be 10000$ and BNB 1500$

what is your justice

If Ethereum hits $10k, then I estimate Binance to hit $3k. The movement of BNB will be faster but depends on the price movement of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Binance certainly won't stay any further than Ethereum.
What is Binance fighting for?
Position. Positions on coinmarketcap greatly influence most investors' mindsets. Whether we admit it or not.
This can be evidenced by the current ADA coin which ranks third on Coinmarketcap. Most crypto lovers talk about ADA.

Money now flowing in ADA, suddenly it's already in the top 3 outperforming Binance which has previously achieve that position. However, I think Binance will soon surpass the market cap of ADA as they are a more consistent coin in terms of development and I'm sure they'll continue to chase to be at the top of the altcoin race.

I'm not earning here but somehow this the where I learn about Crypto lalo na about mismo sa Bitcoin.

That's good to hear, if you want to learn, I would say that the forum is best for you, our local is not so active compared to other locals but we have great contributors here that would give us an information that is very helpful to improve our knowledge in crypto. Usually sa mga newbies, bumabalik sila pag bullish na ang market, kaya welcome back sayo, sana mag stay ka pa rin kahit mag bearish na ang market dahil mas maraming opportunity diyan para mas makabili ng murang investment for long term hold.

He asked for a bigger salary when playing with the TNT, his wish was not granted so ends up playing overseas. This is a big break for him as he has now a chance to even earn more than his current salary, but in one condition, he needs to stay consistent and up his game against a tougher competition.

Correct! he needs to prove himself that he deserved that high fees or else he won't get another contract, everything is at stake now for him, if he failed he will end up playing local leagues that lower contract.

But if he brings his skills knowing what he is capable of, there are lots of opportunities that opened up for him.

First try to we will see what he can add to his team and what impact that they will get after acquiring him and paying him the contract he wanted to earn.

I think if he goes back to the Philippines his career will not be as good as when he was with the PBA as PBA might not accept him anymore unlike Kiefer Ravena that who received nice words from the office of the commissioner and assure he can still play with the PBA if he comes back.

Bobby Ray Park's Jr.'s journey to B League is not smooth as he has to go AWOL in the PBA to create controversy.

Well, there's a chance but Ray Parks is a talented player with a built that could compete internationally, so let's hope he will be successful on the league that he is playing now, he might have a demanding attitude, but that's him, he knows his value and it's alright to demand, besides, both are benefited in a contract and he just have to give his best show he can help the team so he will have a continues contract.

I would never forget the message of this song, as a gambler, we could always relate on this.

The words that really struck me are.

Quote
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done

Sometimes I got too excited, I count my winnings when I'm still gambling, which I realize it's not a good idea as I got greedier every time I do that.
What I learn is to always put a target of winning when gambling and a limit of what you could risk only.
4040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 23, 2021, 04:06:14 PM
You shouldn't be dramatizing, it was a good fight with a decent ending, without a knockout and total superiority of one boxer. This is clearly not the worst thing that could happen to Pacquiao, now he may well end his career on a high note and everyone will remember him as a great boxer who performed with dignity in every match.
We have seen worst of Pacquiao, getting knock out by Marquez, a decision lost to Bradley, (which is the worst for me), and then the Horn robbery. Yes, I know that it is hard to digest the Ugas lost as Manny is the favorite, but that is sports, so it's really an upset but we have to take it and accept.

Just sad that this will be his last fight, however, let's just remember him for the fights that he gave to us in the last 15-20 years.

As I said, this fight ended without a scandal, without a knockout and without anything to darken the impression of the fight, so this is a good moment for Pacquiao to end his career. As I see, most of Pacquiao's fans have come to terms with the fact that he is old and do not expect some kind of miracle and will treat the end of his career adequately.

Every person career comes to an end and Manny Pacquiao is no different. He has to end his career one day and this could be his last match. I don't think it will be a wise decision to prolong his career and collect more defeats. Its best time for him to announce retirement and stat a political career.

What if in every defeat he will collect millions of money that he can use to help his people? I think it's still worth then as even if he keeps losing, people would still remember him as the living legend and the only 8th division world champion. We can't say that he will retire because in the end, it's still up to him to decide and since he is in control of his body, he knows when it's already time or not.
