Good morning from Europe and hello to everyone saying that going all fiat is stupid. You were, as always, right.
My only hope now is a sharp downward movement during the next three days, and knowing my luck, that will not happen.
This week saw me 3 BTC down, though almost at the same $ value. The worst decision was to sell at 804, after I auto-bought at 901 (down from 960), expecting the second down-leg.
Hopefully, we are at a local top before the week-end, so I am still in fiat. And I am in dire need of a second chance. Knowing Bitcoin, that chance would come, I just simply need not to botch it.

One should never go full fiat
You may, of course, be right. But 50/50 from last night was no fun. Oh, and I have a stash of BTC on cold storage...

I'm guessing 1.25 billion for new difficulty He-he pessimistic, are we? And rightly so. There are still a few more KnC units to come on-line, not to speak of all the other stuff...

Good night from Europe. This was a somewhat productive day - I discovered that I manage to trade ebb and tide much better than high volatility swings. Managed to recoup almost all of my yesterday's losses. Now, I am all fiat for the night, so you've been warned.

Not having user privileges sounds like you may have to launch bfgminer as Administrator (just guessing) ?
I don't get the same problem with BEs. EDIT: a bit of the log: [2013-12-12 21:35:24] Started bfgminer 3.8.1 [2013-12-12 21:35:25] Failed to open Device Parameters registry key in lowl-vcom.c _vcom_devinfo_scan_windows__hubport():436: The system cannot find the file specified. [2013-12-12 21:35:25] Do not have user privileges required to open \\.\COM4 [2013-12-12 21:35:25] Do not have user privileges required to open \\.\COM4 [2013-12-12 21:35:25] No devices detected! EDIT 2: Might be a Win 7 issue. I've now gone through the same steps on a Vista 64-bit machine, and there 32-bit version of bfgminer 3.8.1 starts hashing on BPM0 EDIT 3: Definitely something off with this particular machine. It got detected fine on another Win7 (on the second try, after pressing reset on each device).

I received my BlueFuries today, before that, in my absence, they were hosted by ssinc. I am a bit stumped as to how to make them work.
My system is Win 7 64 bit.
Downloaded driver from the second post of this thread.
Plugged in one BF -> orange light and unidentified "Other device" in Device Manager
Updated the driver from the Device manager -> it is now identified as "Bitfury BF1 USB Miner (COM4)" and the LED shines red.
Driver version is "10.0.0.0", date "01.07.2012"
Run bfgminer ver 3.8.1 (latest) with
-S opencl:noauto -S bigpic:all
and get:
"Do not have user privileges required to open \\.\COM4"
Tried both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of bfgminer with the same result and ultimately "No devices found"
So, the questions are: - Do I have the latest driver and if not, where do I get it? - What else do I need to make bfgminer recognise BF1s?

Just wondering who else here tries to actually keep up with reading this thread? It's a chore, but I always enjoy it. I might read 10 or 20 pages when I wake up or middle of the night, or throughout the day, but then I don't find much other time for other threads here. Anyone else feel this problem? +1 Oh, and I am already 2 pages behind!

Trying to connect to Bitminter site now, I get on one machine: Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to bitminter.com. The OCSP server has no status for the certificate. (Error code: sec_error_ocsp_unknown_cert)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.
The other machines, also running FireFox, don't show this, but I don't dare logging in from them...

Bitstamp's creeping upwards, ever so nervously.

Please try some of the smaller pools too then. The last thing we need is ghash (or btcguild) to become even bigger.
I've had good experience with this one: https://give-me-coins.com/I am sharing my time between it and BitMinter.

It feels like the market consists now not of bulls and bears, but of deer, ready to dash in whatever direction at the first sound of rustling leaves.

The volume, or lack thereof, on Bitstamp is frightening. Made a few successful trades. Why is it when I trade a couple of BTC, the trades end up in +, and when I put more than 10, the trades go negative or, at best in 0? Anyway, the suspense is killing me...

Any predictions on movements in the BTC markets in the next 24 hours?
Up, because I am all out, waiting for a dip.

Good morning from Europe. I see it worked again. Being 50/50 overnight, meant this time that the price stayed at almost exactly the same level, and neither my buy or sell limit orders got hit. Now to buy or to sell? This will determine the opposite trend of the price for the day.

I am going to trick Lady Luck today. I am 50% in overnight. And, good-night from Europe. I'm afraid of no bail-in.

What the hell happened?! I walk out for a couple of hours, and - this?! Well, luckily, I sold at a loss at 940 and placed an optimistic buy at 902. Then I walked out. A few minutes later 902 got hit! I have now 1 BTC more than what I started the day with. On the down side, it seems to continue down, and I wonder if I should sell again and re-buy even lower...
Wow, you finally made a profit Good on you +1 Not really. I could not well disappoint you, guys: It all went so well, until I thought that we started on a new leg of downward move and sold. Guess at what price?
Let's see what my next move is.... I'll hold fiat with a "lower than sell" buy order for a couple of days (yeah, I know, boring). After that, if I ever manage to make a BTC profit off a trade, that profit portion will go directly to my cold wallet, so that I would at least have something left

Down, down to goblin town... Please, I want to buy my coins back...

Bitcoin holders are the most jumpy creatures ever.
No kidding. It all went so well, until I thought that we started on a new leg of downward move and sold. Guess at what price?
