Rugby 7's My picks from yesterday were successful bar South Africa v Argentina with Argentina winning that one. I missed the first session today. The second session is the business end, the medal playoff's. https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/olympic-games/en/results/rugby-sevens/olympic-schedule-and-results.htmI'm going with South Africa, Argentina and Fiji ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Flh3.googleusercontent.com%2F-2v_3J1bGbgg%2FYQEBrxml2yI%2FAAAAAAAAAuk%2FdsVFdC3weccT7vuSmqXYIt3hDbyLtghpwCNcBGAsYHQ%2Fs1600%2F1627455917833470-0.png&t=663&c=-JpUN0mDKzx6Yg) Tomorrow I turn my attention to the womens matches I think.
Rugby League As posted above my picks for the NRL are: Eels, Storm and Sea Eagles. I hope The Eels can put in a better performance than last week and not get overtaken by The Roosters

Maybe also a weekly interview with one forum member, although this ma be a bit more difficult for privacy reasons, users may not want to go through the stress of ensuring no one can trace their identity through such means.
Weekly awards for best posts, worst posts etc could also be cool.
Interviews would be cool. I agree with you and @Welsh that some might be reluctant in participating, but it's not like we have to churn an interview every week, so should be fine. Weekly awards for best and worst posts is good idea! Could be added as a segment to a weekly video, like the last part of the video would be about that. I'd love to see some overwhelming positive content. How about a MrBeast like channel?
That's taking the awards thing to a whole(some!) other level! I like the idea! But more funding would be needed and some good people/causes to invest in. Sounds like a good idea! One thing I'd suggest is (quality) posts that get a lot of merits - for example: top merited post for that week - and threads that get a lot of traction maybe ones that get a lot of heavy discussion and interaction too rather than number of replies (like the weight of the posts in a topic).
Theymos suggested doing news stuff on that topic and I'd be interested in trying to make stories neutral and accurate if you needed the help... I think I'm a bit crypto-skeptic when it comes to things like ICOs and altcoins (although I'm not sure I have a firm grasp on crypto news articles as I normally rely on mainstream media for crypto stuff).
I find this approach interesting. Though more oriented to an news/article outlet, rather than video format, right? Which is fine and like to work on that sometime if it is of interest to the community. On the subject of interviews, that would be great, nearly all of us know OgNasty from the collectables section of the forum, an interview or content relating to NastyMining and NastyFans would be interesting, and continuing in that section maybe content from other minters, printers and collectors of physical Bitcoins, shiny metal objects made from rare earth always draws attention. Also there was a thread I commented on recently > Crypto for the homeless - 7/9/21 - handed out a ton of pizza - need some help An interview or short film about the efforts of @brollikk would be a real life example of how Bitcoin can be used. Just a few ides there pertaining to Crypto related collectables and how Bitcoin can be used in real life while linking it all back to the forum...

Bitcoin is now rising, and it has jumped by 3k in less than 10 minutes. Although everyone is happy but also worried, is it going to fall again? My friend asked if I can continue to buy it? But I see a lot of people commenting that giant whales are now controlling the market. I told my friends not to enter the market for now, but my friends seem to have misunderstood me. Do you think that this kind of market should be forbidden to enter or continue to buy? I suggest not to panic selling。
For me you should tell your friend to buy some Bitcoin now okay, cause we are now at 3rd quarter of this year and as you can see in the history of Bitcoin it will always pumping in the 4th or at last quarter of the year, but in the end it his choice, we are just giving him an advice ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) . This is almost right, we are in the year after a halving year which as per previous halvings is a very bullish year. Also we are just after coming through a massive correction phase and just yesterday Bitcoins price crossed $40,000 after over a month being sub $40k. The 3rd quarter of the year will be action packed. I think its a good time for anyone interested to make a start in Bitcoin but they really have to know how the FIAT value can change.

Great post, thanks for the info. This is indeed a significant upgrade being the first major one since 2017. There is a lot of info which many of us wont be able to understand or process. I would recommend that everybody at least browse over the documents. I think we will all welcome this upgrade as it improves Privacy and scaling, two features which are talked about a lot. Its quite exciting From the coindesk article ........have made Taproot a highly anticipated upgrade because it will give Bitcoin a boost to transaction privacy and allow for more lightweight and complex “smart contracts” (an encoded contract with self-executing rules).

~snip Not that I can name Greeks off the top of my head right now but you sort of imagine the birthplace of Olympics would have quite a few tennis players.
Now wouldn't it be amazing if he ended up getting a chance at revenge against Djokovic in the final? Does the route make that possible? Can't tell from how it's all set up now.
regarding Greek players, could remember only Pete, but he played for USA regarding Tsitsipas chances against Djokovic, I do not see it as possibility for him to beat Djokovic in any way, it is probably one of most secure outcomes on the Olympics, that Djokovic will take gold out of competition, Medvedev and Zverev could provide interesting matches for Djokovic, but hardly win and yeah, Tsitsipas has to reach final to meet Djokovic It would indeed be nice to see a rematch between Djokovic and Tsitsipas, the only change would be the surface and of course Djokovic is proficient on all surfaces it seems. Medvedev and Zverev are going well, I havent had any bets on them, they are so far big favourites in the matches ive seen.
In todays matches I have bets on Khachanov, Hurkacz, Nishikori and Medvedev, all favourites.

Rugby Union
Yea the odds for the second Lions game v Springboks is very close with the Springboks as favourites. Everyone expects a big revenge match, I dont know which way to bet, I might go with the Lions again but I'm holding off on that for the moment.
Rugby 7's
All my picks won yesterday and I have a few on for today two have been played and two won.
Ireland v Kenya - 12 - 7 South Africa v USA - 17 - 12 South Africa v Argentina Great Britian v USA
Timelord I cant believe Nitrogensports dont have the 7's listed for the Olympics.
Rugby League
I'm out of funds and cant bet on the NRL until maybe tomorrow, chances are I'll bet on the top 4 excluding the rabbitohs...

So to move away from Croatians... Um so, yeah, I'm not having good luck with even Olympic betting. Barty killed my accas, then next Swiatek, so I'm definitely leaving women's tennis alone unless Osaka AND Nishikori win next one on straight sets to give me some of my losses back.
I told myself not to bet...
Right, so, Tsitsipas to finally stumble next, easy money right? I know it's bad to bet against a guy who keeps tripping but this is the same guy (Tiafoe) who smashed him out absolutely just a month ago.
Yes I was looking at this match for today and while Tsitsipas while favourite to win he just doesnt instill confidence, I lost two bets on him recently, last at Hamburg against Krajinovic and then at Wimbledon against Tiafoe, Matches he was expected to win even though Tiafoe is a very good player. So I didnt bet on him and he wins in straight sets on a hard court. He could be back on track and one to watch for the semi's and final.

Carreno-Busta vs Cilic - 3rd set now, I have a bet on Busta -1.5.
Djokovic vs Struff as well, Djokovic winning the first set 6-4, leading 2-0 the second set.
Djokovic and Busta already won the match, bet on Djokovic vs Struff match at over 18 and won it. Quite surprised by the results in the women's section, Sabalenka lost to Vekic, Swiatek lost to Badosa and Kvitova also lost to Van Uytvanck, unexpected results like this often make my multibet mess up, especially for Sabalenka she is quite favored by bookies that is why the odds in each match are very low but look at the results it is quite disappointing. Lots of surprises in the women's side today, I haven't bet, but I could have put my money on Busta-Carreno. I've check the handicapped for Djokovic vs Struff, -5.5, good thing that you have been on the over 18 and not on that because it was only -5. I think all the seeded players on men won, but as you have said, the women's is quite mess up. It could have been the weather though. I didnt place any bets on the mens matches today, I didnt fancy any of the odds. On the womens side my picks from yesterday won, they were all favourites but as you say the womens tournament is very competitive and at times unpredictable, look at barty! Osaka v Golubic Sakkari v Stojanovic Muguruza v Wang Pliskova v Suaraz Navarro

We will probably see another of this shorters commit suicide because they shorted the price at the wrong time. I just hope that anyone can profit out of all the situation in the prices. Also, the shorters probably didn't have in their calculations added that Elon and Dorsey's talks would make a good effect to the market.
Thats the thing with Crypto, we are still in the early stages and any sort of news from high profile people connected to this space can infleuence how others react and hence affect the markets, its things that cannot be predicted. I would imagine a lot of people wouldnt mind to see shorters and manipulators getting punished.

^^ Yeah, I agree, it is also unpredictable:
Nishikori vs Rublev - huge upset, Nishikori won. But we all know that the game was held in Japan and the weather is hot and for sure Nishikori is more adjusted to it.
P. Kohlschreiber vs S. Tsitsipas, third set now, 6-3, 3-6 in two sets, so 1/1, third set is 3-3, gonna be close but hopefully Tsitsipas can pull it off.
I was not happy to how it got in nishikori vs rublev game because i made a bet on rublev i thought that with nishikori a bit out of the game since wimbeldon that rublev will get past him but that was not the case maybe the weather played a role in it as you said and for tsitsipas he won with difficulties and with this performance i dont think he will make it far. Ah for me that game was too close to make a call, Rublev has not really been performing but neither has Kei. I overlooked the "Home Olympic game" factor TBH.
On the ladies side there are more appealing matches with better odds than on the mens side: Osaka v Golubic Sakkari v Stojanovic Muguruza v Wang Pliskova v Suaraz Navarro

Tsitsipas won already 6-3 in the 3rd set. He broke Kohlschreiber and that's what he needed, as he didn't let him score after that huge break. Some good seed in the womens side is also winning, including home town crowd favourite Naomi Osaka. Djokovic vs Struff tomorrow, Dkokovic -5-5 favourite at 1.85, I think he can cover it. Oh yes, he can cover that for sure, 1.85 is a decent price. My two bets with Tsitsipas and Swartzman have been realised but Andy Murray has pulled out of the singles tournament while continuing with the doubles, recommended by his medical team Max Purcell replaced Murrays place against Felix AA and wins, thats an upset.
Naomi has won her first round, so I'm really happy for her. And Barty is out! I need to pay more attention to the ladies...

Djokovic as expected won in straight sets and went in under 16.5 games as well. 6-2 6-2 for Djokovic, also the weather was too hot today in Japan today anyone who have watched the game seen that Djokovic isnt used to this weather currently.Djokovic is playing against Struff in the next round and that wont be easy at all
again, Djokovic is still on fire even after the transition from grass to hard, but i don't think he can win the gold medal, he's playing so good that makes you think he can't lose but you know he's going to lose a match for sure, you know it's gonna happen at some point, i would be really surprised if he managed to win the gold medal, for me who i think is going to win it, is Medvedev, he gets angry sometimes, but he can't be under pressure, even when he was not well known and he played against top 10 players, he kept his cool, he is the favorite for me to win the gold medal. Djokovic won without too much effort, his opponent Dellien played for the first time, he was so excited about the game. Medvedev also passed first round. Now today we will watch other favorites Andy Murray and Tsitsipas, also Monfils will play. I expect all of them to pass to next round with 2-0 set wins. There won't be any surprise results in first and second round. I think we will see more competitive matches after quarter finals. There are still opportunities to make some winnings, even with low odds in these early rounds. Some really close hard to call games coming up today, Fucovics v Hurkacz Murray v Felix AA Rublev v Nishikori I'm playing safe with bets on Tsitsipas, Swartzman and not so safe with Felix AA. This will be my first time betting on any Olympic sports, I really hope all 3 win for my maiden bets!

~ Probably because the grave that he/she has digged is already too deep for him to be forgiven so he just makes himself crazy even if he is already wrong about his predictions, I want to see this person still saying the same thing when the prices are already on the 100k USD price.
He should be hiding in a grave by now as the market started to rise and hopefully he will come back and change the title so that he will not look like a junkyard dick ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) . If you are in the market for a long time then you will have an idea how the market will perform and the price was having a good support around $30k for weeks and if that is the case you cannot expect the market to go down unless there is something that could push the market further down which was highly unlikely. Indeed, this is another thread title which wont be relevant in the very near future. Everyone knows the market can change on the smallest bit of news, look at the Bitcoin price movement since last Sunday when Elon Musk announced “I want to do a little more due diligence to confirm that the percentage of renewable energy usage is most likely at or above 50% and that there is a trend toward increasing that number. If so, Tesla will most resume accepting bitcoin,” It might be just coincidence but this is the type of thing which can build confidence into the market for Musk followers.

Well the price has started to move and is approaching the $35,000 mark so all the weak hands have sold and will now be looking to buy back.
The wealthy have had a good time buying cheap Bitcoin, but have more FIAT to buy even as the price rises.
Hopefully the weak hands who want to buy back wont be so quick to react to FUD and end up selling low and buying back at a higher price in the future again.

Rugby League
I wonder were The Eels taking it easy, confident that they will qualify in the top 4 for the finals? they seemed to be able to react to the Raiders uptempo change, but not enough obviously. They would want to be careful though, Roosters are 2 points behind.
Going well with todays matches, Storm with a close win from The Cowboys and Rabbitohs a handy win over the Warriors. I have a big bet by my standards on The Panthers .5mbtc to try claw back some losses.
Rugby Union
I see now Sportsbet have union listed and have a book open on the Lions Tour, I have a small bet on The British and Irish Lions in the 1st test today.
The coach Warren Gatland has made a few big changes, I would like to hope he knows what he's doing. Its going to be tough playing the World Cup Champions on their own turf and of course they are favourites

How can an ATM machine allow "face-to-face transactions"? What about KYC policies?I don't think that the authorities would allow people to purchase Bitcoin thru ATM machines without ID verification. The Bitcoin price would've been way higher,if Bitcoin purchases were easy and convenient. There's no doubt about that. The problem is that Bitcoin purchases will never be easy, cheap and convenient.
I can imagine if there is no KYC required to use the ATM's the will attract a certain amount of interest from people looking to transact with cash even with higher fees, a small price to pay for a bit of anonymity. If the transactions are easy and convienient it should attract more traffic and that goes into the melting pot of users and transactions.
