4041  Economy / Speculation / Re: New all time high record | $66,000 on: October 22, 2021, 12:58:44 PM
Base on Coingecko, the highest price that is recorded is $67,276.79 and $66,930.39 on Coinmarketcap so we can say that it reaches the $67,000 price range.
Unfortunately days after its peak, it went down to consolidate a bit and now it is at the $63,000 price range and I think that this is understandable knowing that Bitcoin just passed its previous ATH, many sold out their holdings as well.

Am I glad that Bitcoin did the move? Kinda but not that much because I'd be happier if Bitcoin will reach $100,000 at some time next year Smiley. Well, congrats to those who bought their Bitcoins at the $30,000 price range. Congrats for those who took the risk of buying near to that price because they've double their money just by holding BTC.
4042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 22, 2021, 12:46:05 PM
I'm not sure if they can still come back in this game, TNT had 16 points lead in the 1st half, they need to have a strong 3rd quarter for them to be able to make it a close game or a single-digit lead by the TNT only. They did not show the aggressiveness that they need and their shot selections were not perfectly planned, I hope they could at least cover the spread.

You are right, they have a strong 3rd quarter and actually, they were able to close with TNT by trimming their lead to 4 points only, but TNT came back and they are now leading by 9 points, but don't worry, there's still plenty of time, who knows we will see a surprise here and Magnolia will win.

edit : Calvin Abueva has fouled out, Magnolia in trouble now.  Lips sealed

This is over now, over 1 minute and TNT is still leading by 11 points, there's no chance Magnolia would be able to make a miracle here.

So after this game, it will be 2-0, still believe in Magnolia and we will go all-in in game 3.

Congrats to TNT, 2 games with an easy win.
I thought that the MAG had their momentum when they cut TNT's lead to just 4 but it seems like they've lost their momentum and that causes the TNT to get their 2nd win 105-93.
These are the 3 reasons I think why TNT got their 2nd win.

1. Mikey Williams is just unstoppable. Just see his stats in the first 2 games. He can't be stopped by either Barocca or Jalalon. Now he scored 28 points with 9 rebounds too and when MAG cut down the lead to just 4, he got 5 of the 7-0 run that TNT made causing their lead to go up again. No one can stop him right now and if MAG can't find a way to stop him, there is almost no chance for them to win. He is a scoring machine.
2. Foul troubles. Abueva got fouled out, Barocca and Jalalon got 5 fouls too. Pogoy got fouled out too but it doesn't matter because there is Williams to just shoot around if needed. Abueva's presence inside the court increases the morale of the team so him being fouled out is just devastating for the team.
3. Help from Paul Lee. Like I said, his previous game wasn't that good for him because he got a right shoulder injury causing him to miss a lot of shots and not performing on his usual performance. Sangalang played well this game with 25 pts but that wasn't enough for the team to get the W.

Overall, MAG players just need to step up on shooting and find a way to stop Mikey Williams. Congrats on the TNT win.
4043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The rise of Axie Infinity on: October 21, 2021, 02:10:59 PM
What do you believe to be the key factors that could have made this price movement possible?
Hype of NFT. Since it is arguably the most successful NFT game right now in NFT industry, I think that it has a huge effect to where Axie it is right now.
Continues adding of features in their platform. When AXS Staking isn't released yet, the price of AXS token is at around $60 but when it has been released at the end of September the price of it double immediately.

Overall, the demand of the game itself is just too high because of the fact that people can earn even though they are just staying at home. Many people lost their job due to pandemic and many are finding another sources of income and Axie is one thru scholarships. The demand is just too high even though it is still in Alpha Phase right now. Base on their roadmap, the Alpha stage of Land will release in Q4 and if this will be a successful one then the demand will be higher. No certainties still Smiley.
4044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is telling people you're into stocks "cool" but crypto is a big secret? on: October 21, 2021, 01:09:37 PM
TBH, I don't know the feeling because I've never shared to any of my relatives anything regarding my investment whether it is stocks or crypto.

Well, maybe the fact that crypto is more complex than stocks is the reason why some are keeping it as a secret. If you will ask an investor that you bought a stock in your country, it will be easy to understand since they might know the company especially if you invested in popular company. In crypto, if you will ask it into a normal investor their curiosity will prevail. Questions after questions after questions will be done up to the point that you yourself will give up or he might not be interested to crypto too.
4045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 21, 2021, 12:35:54 PM
If PBA is not rigged, there's no way the Magnolia will be able to beat the TNT in game 2.

Sorry, I'm just saying the facts, TNT just played very well that Magnolia looks like a bunch of rookies.
TNT had offense everywhere, they are clicking because they are confident in making shots.

by the way, Williams might missed game 2.
https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/tnt-s-kelly-williams-hurts-back-in-game-1-win-over-magnolia-a793-20211020
Its because of turnovers, injuries and maybe a bad day for the MAG that is why they lost the game.
You might be right that PBA is rigged if that happens but in the end, we don't have any evidence to prove that it is rigged so... yeah. I just hope that MAG will make some adjustments after their loss and I hope that Sangalang and Lee will play better than Game 1.
More games = more entertainment and more revenue for the league. A win-win situation.

TNT is just a strong team and they are the favorites to win the championship. The absence of Williams will not be felt that much even though he performed very well in Game 1 because they still have big guys to fill the gap.
4046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you pay with crypto??? on: October 20, 2021, 02:15:49 PM
Paying with crypto? No not at all.
Paying using crypto? Yes but I'm converting it into our own currency and that is what I'm using to pay some bills or expenses here.

I'm involved into crypto for some time already but I never tried to pay some things online using crypto. I wish I could have to but right now, merchants that are accepting crypto are very few. I choose "Fiat guy" since not many establishments are using crypto. Maybe if the pandemic will be gone, I might try to explore different establishments in malls and ask if they are accepting crypto Smiley.
4047  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much would you like to see Bitcoin priced in 2022? on: October 20, 2021, 01:53:09 PM
Do you think Bitcoin will touch the 1 million milestone in 2022? I think Bitcoin will cross 80 thousand dollars in 2022. What do you think?
Bitcoin will reach 1 million per piece although it might not happen though Smiley.
1 Million in 2022? Nahh I don't think so. The percentage of it to happen is close to 0 at least for me.

Bitcoin might reach $80,000 in the next year and that at least is a price that we know it will hit since Bitcoin's price is $64,000 and it is close to that price. On the other hand though, a million is almost impossible to happen next year or in the next 5 years. Give it a decade or 2 maybe before it reaches that price Smiley.
4048  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon musk now the richest man in earth on: October 20, 2021, 01:25:33 PM
My question is can Elon musk sustain this new found financial spot for how long? We have seen bill gate coming back to this spot from time to time and occupying it for a longer time. Now that Elon musk is said being the richest in the world , is he going to keep to this status longer or we are yet going to hear another story of selling off assets because Elon musk is now known as a public stage man Grin Roll Eyes So what do you think?
Satoshi is holding 1,000,000 Bitcoins which if you multiplied it to its current price right now which is ~$64,000, it will be around 64 Billion Dollars. Almost 3 times as much as Elon Musk is. If only we know Satoshi then we might see him on the top of that but it will remain as a fantasy.

Anyway, I think Elon will stay on the top as long as Tesla and SpaceX will work well. IIRC, him and Bezos are the ones who are fighting for the top spot months ago but now Elon cemented his spot on the top. Everything has its end though so we might see him on the top this year and not next year or in the next 2 years Smiley.
4049  Economy / Economics / Re: Steam bans blockchain games on: October 20, 2021, 01:03:55 PM
I thought Steam was a little more open to innovation then that, the problem here is steam is a closed off internal market where you cannot withdraw the cash back out.    You must use their marketplace to trade items, I had thought there must be other games that let you buy stuff separate to steam market but those will be very large publishers if thats the case and able to form special deals to operate seperate.
Many might hate them because of the move they've done but its their platform and they will do whatever they want to do.
We've seen some Blockchain games under Steam like Age of Rust, MIR4 and Mist in the future but they kicked out these blockchain games because they have their own economy. An economy that Steam's isn't involved so why are they putting it under their platform.

In the future, we might see a company that will act like Steam that is purely blockchain games. A platform that will benefit blockchain games. Who knows and besides, nobody expected that NFT games will be created under blockchain right Smiley.
4050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 20, 2021, 12:48:07 PM

Sorry for your loss man, this is the first time I saw the Magnolia getting dominated by an opponent, TNT is really something and if they will sweep the Magnolia, I would understand it because they have a lot of options on players that will generate points for them and Mikey Williams just proved his worth again and he deserved to get a max contract, not a rookie one.
When the PBA didn't start, Williams demanded for a monthly salary that is more than what is usual in the league and it seems like it is worth it because he is a very big piece in the team's rotation.
Anyway, these are the 3 reasons why Magnolia got defeated by a huge margin in that game.

1. Free throws - 26/44?? You are in the PBA Finals and you shot that low? In the first half alone, they shot less than 50% from the free throw line causing TNT to have a huge lead. TNT got so many fouls but unfortunately, MAG didn't convert those free throws into points.
2. Turnovers - 28 turnovers and TNT scored 26 points from their turnovers. We already saw SMB having these much turnovers and they lost against TNT and now MAG is doing the same. They can't afford to have these much turnovers or else, they might get swept in these Finals.
3. Paul Lee - special mention for him at least for me. In his last 3 games against Meralco, he scored way less than his usual points per game and this game he only scored 12 with 3/12 shooting. He is one of the main scorers of the team but he has this bad performances for 4 straight games already. Kudos to the defenders of TNT still because they manage to lessen Lee's production.

Overall, a win for the TNT and it is now 1-0. Second game will be on the 22nd. Adjustments will be made on MAG and I hope that they will come back in the 2nd game. I would love to see this Finals into 7 games Smiley.
4051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 20, 2021, 11:57:05 AM
I haven't watched the whole Lakers vs GSW game, but the Lakers lost. It's not that the Lakers were missing something except a small chemistry and missed free throws and turnovers, but it's the GSW has been once again spectacular this year. A lot of guys has been improving, Jordan Poole was the most notable player who has greatly improved. They're once again surrounded with a lot of shooters, can both do damage from inside the paint or beyond the arc.

I hope to see a dangerous GSW again and reclaim their spot in the playoffs.
If Jordan Poole will be consistent all throughout the whole season, other teams will need to watch out for him because he is a great shooter.
With Poole scoring 20+ points against the Lakers, Curry got a triple double (his 8th on his career). This just shows that its not only Curry that are shooting right now but there are more who are shooting especially from the outside. Just seeing their roster and most of them can really shoot threes. Wiggins, Curry, Thompson, Poole, Porter, Bjelica. Almost all of them have a good shooting percentage on three points.

Curry, Thompson, Green and now we can include Poole maybe in the list. The Big 3 + 1 Cheesy. Overall, if they will not get injured especially Curry and Thompson I think the Warriors will be a playoff contender and possible championship contender as well. They can do it especially now that we already saw how the Lakers are playing, there is a chance that it will be Warriors Vs. Nets/Bucks. What do you think? Cheesy
4052  Economy / Economics / Re: Will we see new ATH this year? on: October 19, 2021, 09:48:32 AM
We are just ~$3,000 away from its past ATH and I'm pretty sure that it will surpass that price at least.
The only question is that "Will Bitcoin stay above $64,000 for a long time" because there is chance that it might be a false breakout and that will cause Bitcoin to go down to near $60,000 again.

I'm pretty sure that we will see a new ATH this year and knowing that the last 3 months are sometimes the most bullish time of Bitcoin base on history, that increase the chances of a new ATH. Regardless, there are no certainties unto it and we might see the complete opposite though. We might see Bitcoin go down in the last 3 months and it will not surpass its past ATH or we might see a new one. We don't know. Just be ready Smiley.
4053  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do you explain the October pump? on: October 19, 2021, 09:00:18 AM
Just a normal scenario for Bitcoin I guess.
September if you will look at the charts is really a bad month for Bitcoin but the remaining 3 months is one of the best months of it. I'm not saying though that from October - December, price of Bitcoin don't go down but if you will look at the history you will see that most of the time it goes up.

I think there is no need for an explanation into what is happening this month because it is expected already base on the history. One thing more is that the bulls are still in control of the market. We almost saw the Bears controlling it by seeing Bitcoin went down to below $30,000 but it didn't happen and instead the bulls prevail.
4054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your top coin to invest in for passive income? on: October 19, 2021, 08:20:00 AM
With there being thousands of coins all earning diferentes APY percentajes ir can be hard to choose which coin invest in to get passive income.

Share your experiencies
1. Staking Coins - there are many coins out there that offers staking where you can earn passive income just by staking the coins. Coins like ETH, ADA, XTZ and many more offers staking. A quick google search will help you.
2. Yield Farming - you can see this in DEX'es such as Uniswap, Pancakeswap. In short terms, you provide your coins into the Liquidity Pool and you will be rewarded base on the fees. You can find more here: LINK

For me, I don't have like "top" coin for passive income because all of them are giving passive income. Its just the annual yields is the difference but still they give passive income to us which is good.
4055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 19, 2021, 07:55:07 AM
I can’t believe the Suns didn’t give Ayton a max deal. The one good player they draft in years and they’re going to let him slip away while giving 90 million to a backup and keeping Chris Paul around. Sometimes you have to wonder what management is thinking. Does this mean we’ll see an Ayton trade sometime in the future?
I'm surprised but not that much. Just a little bit I think Smiley.

Ayton and Booker played for at least 3 years already and they didn't went to the Playoffs with only 2 of them. Lets face it, CP3 is the key why the Suns are in the top spot last season. Yes Booker and Ayton really played well but do you think that it will be the same if CP3 isn't on the team? No disrespect with Ayton and Booker and they are great players but Paul is the reason why they played very well and without him, they will almost the same as they are years ago. In the bottom, not going into the playoffs.

Maybe that is the reason why they didn't gave Ayton a max deal. Maybe the management wants more from him - consistency I think. He can be like that one season and not in the next one and he needs to prove more that he ain't like that. If Ayton's performance this season will be the same or better last season then for sure, they will give him the max deal but right now I think its understandable that they didn't gave him a max deal. Ayton is a great Center though still Smiley
4056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 17, 2021, 12:44:51 PM
Congrats to all the TNT backers here. Their 3-point shooting did tow them to the Finals this time and though I lose my bet but just happy on the other hand that it is not an all SMC team in the finals. Too early to predict but IMO, this series is a 50-50 as there is no clear advantage to either team.
SMB really got the pace in the first quarter but they lose their momentum in the second quarter and the fact that most of their all-star players got some injuries and early foul trouble, TNT really took advantage of it and give Coach Leo Austria his first Game 7 loss in his SMB coaching career.

I'm also thinking, what if JMF didn't get into foul trouble. What if Mo, Romeo and Perez didn't get those injuries. Will they win the series but.. a win is a win and those are part of the game. TNT Vs. MAG in PBA Finals Smiley. At least we will not see a SMC Vs. SMC right now since it is SMC Vs. MVP Smiley.

Off-topic a bit, Japan B-league is eyeing PBA players to be in their league and rumors have it that Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger have lucrative offers to play for them. Japeth is offered 3M Php a month, far from that 900K Php (including bonus) that he currently receives.

Also, they are closely monitoring Junemar and might offer the biggest money to him as he is dominant and popular. This could be the beginning of the end of PBA, what do you think guys?
I also see this post from Snow Badua regarding B-league eyeing PBA players such as Aguilar, C-Stan and even JMF. Also IIRC, even Mark Dickel (former coach of TNT) is now at the B-league (forgot the position).

Well, there is nothing wrong if those players will really go to B-league. There are no rules saying that a player is prohibited to play outside the country as long as the player has no contract anymore in their team. If this happens (hope not), it will make a huge domino effect for sure. We've seen the effect of Thirdy going to the B-league. Players from our country that still can't play into the PBA went to B-league to play, have more experience and earn more money. Even Kiefer and Ray Parks went to B-league because of the same reasons. I don't think though that it will be the beginning of the end of PBA. If there will be some PBA players that will go to B-League, it will be an opportunities for other PH players to showcase their skills in PBA Smiley.
4057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinion, NFT last long or not ? on: October 16, 2021, 09:30:25 PM
Decentralized finance (DeFi), Web 3.0, financial inclusion, the rise of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Axie Infinity success, Will the others be successful too?
When ICO became popular, there are many projects that became successful.
When DeFi became popular, there are many projects that became successful as well.
Now NFT is the one whose popular right now and we've seen new projects/games everywhere with different genres.

Axie Infinity will be just one of the few NFT games that will stay for a long time because of its success and what it achieved. Although there will be some who will become successful, there will be more projects that will end up as a scam or lack of support coming from the community. NFT will last long I think.
4058  Economy / Speculation / Re: 60k price recovery achieved on: October 16, 2021, 09:13:46 PM
Ever since the Bitcoin all-time high price of 64k in April 2021 before it drops below 30k before recovering gradually and today another landscape was achieved with Bitcoin now selling for $60,234 this price indicates another exciting bull season before the end of the year 2021.
Those who took the risk when buying @$30,000 are the ones who are happy right now. They doubled their money already just by buying at that time.

Now the rise isn't because of hypes coming from Elon Musk or from any influential people out there. Its purely because the bulls are still in control even though we went down from $64,000 to $30,000 Smiley. Well, I just hope that it will continue and surpass its past ATH of $64,000 so that we will have a happy Christmas Cheesy.
4059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 16, 2021, 01:09:36 PM
By the way, congrats on the SMB too, game 7 will be this Sunday at 4:35 PM (Don't miss this one).

If my memory serves me right, SMB has not lost a game 7 so this game will be in their favor considering their experience and handling the pressure on this very important game.
That's correct, so it will be San Miguel corporation's teams who will play in the finals, isn't it boring compared if we have the TNT to advance?
Well, we've seen this kind of situation many times already so nothing new with it.
There are some times that people see it boring but I don't think that isn't the case most of the time. In fact I still remember when Ginebra and SMB face each other in a regular season years ago, there are many fans watching the game to the point that the arena is almost full of audiences. I miss that moment though. Its these companies that ruined the competitiveness of the game.

SMB hasn't lost in a Game 7 but it doesn't mean that they will automatically win the series already Smiley. I would love to see them going to the PBA Finals though (fan here) but if TNT will advance and break the streak then it will be fine for me. Its good to watch TNT games too at least for me.
4060  Economy / Economics / Re: When you sell is no longer "yours" on: October 16, 2021, 12:46:09 PM
When you sell, is no longer yours. When you sell your bitcoin for more than you paid, you may be happy about it, but unless you have an investment to make or would like to buy something else, all you have left is... fiat. And fiat finds its way out of pockets very quickly.
It might sound simple and very easy to understand but that isn't the case for some here Smiley.

As for my case, there are many times that I've sold my Bitcoins just to have money to spend here because I'm the one paying the expenses here in our house. It might sound weird (or at least to me) if I say that most of my expenses are coming from the Bitcoins that I've earned and I'm happy with it. I'm happy not only because I'm spending it but the way it changed my life Smiley. I'm still holding some Bitcoins right now and still hold more while spending some and I'm happy with it.
