4041  Economy / Gambling / Re: seals with clubs desktop client (debian support, software license) on: November 25, 2013, 04:30:28 AM
it only works on ubuntu, support for other linux distributions is not available

I'm not sure if this reply was supposed to be helpful, or just sarcastic.

Obviously the point of this thread is that while the developers are targeting Ubuntu (the spyware distro).  Ubuntu is derived from an incredibly similar distro that comes without spyware so the oustanding questions are these:

1) Is there a particular feature of glibc 2.17 that the developers are relying on.  Or is this one of those spurious version check things that has been put in by a compiler that built the software on 2.17 and which could actually be ignored (or removed)?

2) If they are using any GPL code and are distributing the app without offering a copy of GPL and access to the source then they are infringing copyright.

My only real goal in creating the thread was to try to get a meaningful discussion going on these topics.

Everytime I think that pages of people saying "jeezus this thread is old" would cause someone to think before posting a "here's my address, thanks" message, I am proved wrong.

Did you guys eliminate all freerolls for non-krillers?  I'm so sad and dissapointed.

It took me forever to get to 500Krill to start playing the 500 krill freeroll, then you guys bumped it up to 1.25K krill for the lowest freeroll.  Now the free freerolls are going away.  I bet by the time I get to 1.25K krill the amount will be raised again and i will again be disqualified.

I got to 500 krill just weeks after the prize of 50 chips for getting to 500 krill got eliminated?  Is this just my bad luck?  No wonder I'm a terrible poker player.  Are you guys trying to break my heart?

I really really woulda thought that you guys woulda grandfathered in old players when you raised the krill requirements.  That way loyal (if poor) folks like me would still be able to hang around and spread the message of what a great place SwC is.

What gives, y'all?  Don't you love me back?

Grandfather a brother in, puh-lease.

Everybody just let this thread die. Nobody post after this.

many fail to receive any penny from here and now looking for new opportunties just because of this no one posting here  Wink

dont let this tread dies, post here and let ppl know not to put money on online wallet
I beg to differ. This is not a "service" anymore. If you want to keep conplaining about this (which you have much reason to do) then you can go ahead and keep this up in the scam accusation thread. That would do a much better job of it.

This is actually a very reasonable point.
4049  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Farmer Investigating Crypto-Currency... on: November 22, 2013, 04:53:51 AM
I think the other replies are on point that:

1) You should try to meet up with some other bitcoin people to talk in person
2) Mining is very difficult these days (and it's not your focus)
3) Bitpay is becoming popular as a way for non-specialists to use bitcoins.

I'd add that it'd probably be a good idea to try to find some other merchants who use bitpay or who accept bitcoins so you can talk to them about the details.

BTW, I live in a river valley with a pretty good sized community of small, diversified, organic vegetable farms.  I love farmers!
4050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's going to be cute when bitcoin shatters and gets destroyed on: November 22, 2013, 04:48:10 AM
Ohh noeeez I said the unthinkable to the bitcoin fanboys, that bitcoin will get destroyed by whatever coin comes out that will make this dinosaur obsolete.

Because wait please explain to me the benefit of waiting 30 hours to make sure my order is confirmed instead of a few seconds using a credit card? Anonymity!! Guess what when bitcoin becomes "mainstream" which it never will for the very fact that it takes forever to confirm any normal transaction.

The mainstream places are going to ask you for personal information, like Amazon, Walmart, whatever company you can think of, so it basically becomes a nice tracking tool to track every single transaction you ever make in your life, as they have your name and address and can match your bitcoin wallet.

But those are flaws in all crypto currencies, people celebrate them for freedom yet they fail to realize that they will be the most sinister, draconian tool of control even invented. Why do you think big government loves crypto so much, and are passing regulations to make it legal in their frameworks.

They know once they have the infrastructure in place they can track every single transaction that a person makes, and in the process they would have eliminated "cash" the only true form of anonymity.

Back to bitcoin though, Bitcoin is basically AOL dial up internet, waiting to be destroyed by Time Warner high speed cable. Bitcoin can't compete in the real world of instant transactions, hence it will never be used for anything of importance main stream.

As soon as a new crypto currency comes out that offers true instant transactions, Bitcoin will be dead, there is actually a coin coming out just around the corner, you'll all know of it soon enough, which will dominate crypto and won't be replaced by anything even remotely soon after, as it solves all Bitcoins problems. Any coin that tries to compete with it won't matter, as they will only be marginal improvements and not worth the "mainstreams" time to implement them.

It will have first mover advantage and keep it, Just like Visa and Mastercard. There will be clones trying to compete but they won't get anywhere as they will only offer marginal improvements which people won't bother or waste their time with. Just like the countless payment clones to the major payment processors, nobody gives them any attention.

Laugh, Cry, Hate, or Love just know this will all happen, and you have been forewarned.

Not that you don't have some good points in here, but the sarcasm makes it hard to digest.
4051  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: November 22, 2013, 04:25:25 AM
99 freeroll is gone it looks like?

They seem to still be appearing from time to time.  I was going to ask a question about them: is there any way to predict when the next 88 freeroll will appear?  I understand that they don't start until they fill up, but I haven't been able to tell when to look for them to show up so I can be sure to sign up for one.

I think the captcha freeroll is still running every 2 hours.

Oh and yeah, what about that wednesday donkdown, do I have to sign up for that on the my account page?

Sorry to ask so much about free tourneys but perhaps these factors will mitigate your hate for me:

1) I am very poor.
2) I have only very rarely cashed out any winnings.  Whenever I get chips in a freeroll I just end up using them in ring games and paid tourneys until I eventually lose (because I suck at poker but enjoy playing).

Final question, as the bitcoin price rises and the stakes (in terms of chips) falls, is there any plan to lower the cash-in/cash-out limits?  That is, now that you can get started in a ring game with only 2 chips, it might be nice to be able to buy into or cash out of the site for less than 50 chips (which wasn't a lot a few years ago but at todays prices is quite expensive).

1)  Our freeroll schedule is adjusted from time to time.   Best option is to check back / hit up the lobby frequently
2)  I'm very happy that you are taking a responsible line with SwC - i.e. you recognize you are not Phil Ivey+ and only play freerolls and then fire with the chips you win.  Too many times in poker a human believes themselves to be fantastic at the game when in reality they are average or worse.  This is a dangerous combination.
3)  1 chip or 0.001 btc is min deposit

Thanks for the replies!

What about that donkdown thing?  I see it on Wednesdays from time to time, it's like a podcast?  or a tournament?  or both?

Warning: rant below.

I hate to be a troll, but I really think this thread is quite silly.  I mean, there's really no conflict.  Why on earth should there be some proclaimation that on a given date "we starting using the word Satoshis".  All correct terms can be in use at the same time.  People will naturally use the most relevant demarcation.  Jeesus, if I have 25 cents, I can refer to that as 0.25 dollars, and likewise if I have 1Kdollars, I can refer to that as 100Kcents.  I don't understand the hype here.  Please.

Sounds cool, let me know when you implement it.  I'd like to stop by for some coins.

Deal, but you also need to pay 0.199 BTC for the account's health care.

obamacoin is the new bitcointalk jester.  Maybe someone will tip you for being funny.

Yup, there has to be one original idiot

Looks like it, but at least it shows on your trust rating.

Then here, I'll say it with my trust rating.
Nobody is going to buy your username, not now, not ever.
I'd suggest starting a bid price at about 0.00001 BTC.

You might want to try this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=339206.0
But I doubt you'll get anything out of that either.

Sorry, but I'm not going to race to the bottom. Innovation and creativity have a price.

This thread is truly hilarious.  I really can't tell if the OP is serious or just having fun.

know the risks, is it really worth it for 0.01 BTC?
Stop selling yourselves so cheap to facebook.

"Facebook moved ahead Friday with changes to its privacy policies that make it clear that the company can include users’ profile pictures, location and other personal information in advertisements."

lol, 0.01BTC is worth like 45USD today.  I think I would sign up on facebook for that kinda cheese then wipe the computer.

This giveaway is super-old, it's not running anymore.  The current reward for this action is 0.
