4041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / A quick thought on how to help/save bitcoin. on: March 27, 2021, 04:37:59 AM
Just a thought, We have all witnessed how just a tweet from a top individual in society can influence the price of bitcoin. We have also seen many people tweet about something so much, it becomes a trend and something popular that almost everyone hears about. This has got me thinking; if we all collectively pick a day or a period of time and all agree to tweet, post and create a trend about bitcoin that will last a while on twitter or any other social media platform, will this help the current price of bitcoin get to a higher ATH?

4042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Nigeria Central bank confusing its citizens? on: March 27, 2021, 04:07:28 AM

I feel they didn’t think this through before releasing their ban statement in February with their wild claims.

The Nigerian Central bank quick decision to reverse the ban it placed on crypto transactions is a sign that it was very well misinformed prior to making the decision. But in terms of confusing crypto its citizens, i think the citizens no longer care much about what the government says, especially when they know that the motive behind such was just to twat progress of the masses already involved in crypto.
4043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDT are safeheaven on: March 26, 2021, 08:28:14 AM
USDT are safe heaven.

I found an article online that suggest otherwise, that is "USDT's are not as safe as we think" . In this article, it is summarised that there are uncertainties to the claims that $1 USDT is backed up by $1 USD.

4044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 26, 2021, 07:55:19 AM
I think one of the top notch teams should get Harry Kane, he deserves to be there, winning trophies will be very vital for his career profile.
José Mourinho likely to be sacked, after been knocked out of the Europa League.
Manchester United should get sergio agüero rather than spending much money on Halland.
4045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: March 26, 2021, 07:29:35 AM
Nice and lovely clean sheet from England, I loved the game.
Jesse lingard is back here providing an assist lol,John stones was solid unlike  him some years back,i think Ruben Diaz complemented him well at the Etihad Stadium, I see more starts of John stones than Harry Maguire without been biased.
4046  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $20K to invest in coins - Where to start? on: March 26, 2021, 06:26:58 AM

If you would have $20k to invest in crypto, what would you do?[/b]

If i had such an amount to invest in crypto, i mist certainly throw in a larger amount say half the total amount (that is 10k) for btc first, then i split the remaining 10k into fractions in varying proportions and invest into other alt coins.
4047  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Easter, A time for reflection on: March 25, 2021, 09:51:39 PM
I think the church celebrates easter today as a measure of celebrating the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the cross, that is choosing to die. It is a celebration of a priceless gift to humanity, and not about his death. It is a time of sober reflection upon the importance of his death.
4048  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Abortion should be banned. on: March 25, 2021, 09:37:47 PM
Not like I am trying to justify the act of abortion, but you can't force someone to bring a child into this world when they are not ready for it. Some of the people who indulge in abortion have weighed their options and seen that they are not either psychological, financially or physically ready for the responsibilities that come with having a child.
4049  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you miss Trump? on: March 25, 2021, 09:29:26 PM
I remember some of the clips i watched about Donald Trump and his constant verbal brawl with press men, I must say i miss that. There hasn't been much of a highlight to discuss from the Biden administration, but it is all good.
4050  Other / Beginners & Help / Some of the unspoken problems associated with bitcoin use. on: March 25, 2021, 05:53:29 PM
OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this discourse is not to dwindle your interest in bitcoin, but to give a better understanding of bitcoin by analysis of an aspect that much attention has not been given.

INTRODUCTION:
As much as we all like to speak of the benefits that   comes with bitcoin, it is also important that we point out some of the problems associated with bitcoin that many do not speak about.

Some problems associated with bitcoin use are;
(A). Bitcoin is not designed for mass adoption/acceptance;
Because of its digital nature by design, only those who possess a level of tech knowledge find btc useable, even amongst those with tech knowledge, there are some that are not ready to risk their fiat against something digital that they cannot see.
As a result of the large difference in the number between those that possess tech knowledge in the society and others that don't, complete mainstream adoption for btc and other crypto is not in view any time soon.

(B). High transaction fees;
This needs no explaining, I am sure you have been charged a ridiculous amount for a transaction you made. Fact is, as btc gains more acceptance, the transaction fees will increase proportionally.

(C). No regulation.
Considering the fact that anyone can just use btc for any kind of transaction (purchase of illegal merchandise, weapons etc) without any regulation or trace is scary to think of. Because of this scare, many governments having considered it, are trying to be able to checkmate the entry and exit point of the crypto currency.

(D). No accountability.
The people in charge that govern and control how things work in the network and Blockchain are still very anonymous to many and as a result, many find it difficult to trust the system.

(E).  Highly volatile nature.
Bitcoin is highly susceptible to rapid change, many countries, companies and individuals for this purpose find it too unpredictable to be used as currency.

(F). It is easy to make a mistake because of the cryptographic nature of the address when sending it to someone for a transaction. It is very difficult to keep to memory your btc address.

(G). The burden one has to bear in terms of their account management and personal financial security is too much for some to handle.

CONCLUSION:
The above listed problems create points at which  the Blockchain technology can be strengthened for the better. I plead with the developers of this technology to address the problems for the betterment of us all.

4051  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Politics in a country is setback on: March 25, 2021, 05:59:36 AM
In as much as the political leadership in some countries of the world seem to be the problem of the people in that country, a country cannot properly function without some set of organised rules under a leader.

A) from your objectives what's the functions of a political leaders?

As every other leader, political leaders are people meant to inspire, manage and make political decisions for the people they are leading.

B) is it good to have a political group in a country?

Political groups are meant to bring a level of organisation to the method of choosing a political leader. Instead of having everyone just coming out on their own to say they want to be leaders, political groups help screen and project candidates of their choice to help represent and enforce their promises to the masses.

C) why is that government has turn everything into politic?

Everything is political in some sort of way, but i don't quite understand the context in which you in mean that the government has turned everything to politics. The word "everything" is quite an elaborate word.

D) military regime and Democratic regime in your country via leadership which one do you prefer?

Democracy seems to disappoint me sometimes, people do things sometimes in this system indifferently without discipline or concern. It will be nice to see a military type of regime, with plenty toppings of democracy

E) is leadership meant for a particular political group.

In a system that is not kingship nor lineage based, leadership and political power is meant to be revovled around and given to the person that deserves it the most at that time, based on character, promises and the probability to deliver.

4052  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC dump breaks through 53K resistance barrier on: March 24, 2021, 10:52:36 PM
At times like this when there is a slump in price, some people will take the opportunity to buy from does who are in a hurry, panicking and want to sell out. In its usual order, in some few hours, days or say weeks, we will be celebrating a new Btc ATH (All time high).
4053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's 21 million limit on: March 24, 2021, 10:43:19 PM
The whole narrative of this almost wants to suggest that when the 21 million mining limit is reached, like it will be impossible to get btc. However, that is not the case. At 21 Million limit, people will still be able to procure btc from people who own them at that point. So extending the 21 million limit is not really necessary.
4054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla now accepts Bitcoin on: March 24, 2021, 09:30:30 PM
I want lot more microtransactions with Bitcoin. Like buying gas or something. That's more important.

I completely agree with you on the matter that Micro transactions with btc will be a lot more significant. But if we are to examine society, you will discover that a lot of persons view on btc is that it is an investment choice/option and not something for everyday transaction. The time when people hodling btc will freely use it for their everyday transaction is still far. At the moment, most will only agree to use btc as a payment option for something big.

4057  Economy / Economics / Re: OpenAI: Artificial Intelligence will generate wealth to pay each adult $13,500yr on: March 22, 2021, 04:27:44 AM

AI will enable computer programs to “read legal documents” and “give medical advice” in the next five years; in the next 10 computers will “do assembly-line work” and “maybe even become companions,” Altman wrote. “And in the decades after that, [AI] will do almost everything, including making new scientific discoveries that will expand our concept of ‘everything.’”

As the pace of development accelerates, AI “will create phenomenal wealth” but at the same time the price of labor “will fall towards zero,” Altman said.

“It sounds utopian, but it’s something technology can deliver (and in some cases already has). Imagine a world where, for decades, everything – housing, education, food, clothing, etc.– became half as expensive every two years.”

In this future, where wealth will come from companies and land, governments should tax capital, not labor, and those taxes should be distributed to citizens, Altman said.

All citizens over 18 would receive payment in both dollars and company shares. People could do as they see fit with that money, Altman said.

“As AI produces most of the world’s basic goods and services, people will be freed up to spend more time with people they care about, care for people, appreciate art and nature..

The statement that people will be freed up to spend more time with family and other things doesn't quite go down well with me. Have we even considered some of the potential problems this might cause? People's quality of life might reduce, no target, reduce sense of importance that some derive from working, etc

Furthermore, As we see in the movies, and as we have heard it happen once or twice, What happens when this system is hijacked by internet and technology specialist? If the system is built to pay people, based on the data and computer instruction it receives, has a widespread financial attack not been made easier for cyber attackers?
4058  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Life after Political Power. on: March 21, 2021, 09:50:33 PM
It is really difficult to adjust to a role of receiving orders especially when one was the one dishing the orders out before. However, life must go on, it is proper to think that after one has occupied a political position, one should play the role of father to the next person, it terms of guiding the next person into power especially at the early stage. Life is a journey and things are happening in phases, one thing is this moment, the other moment it is not. We must all learn to adjust accordingly.
4059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin advertising by celebrities. on: March 21, 2021, 09:37:15 PM
Really, does bitcoin still need advertising? Bitcoin doesn't need any help getting more popular from celebrity, bitcoin itself is a celebrity. Six out of every ten persons in the society has either heard or been a beneficiary of bitcoin.
4060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news for Nigerian crypto enthusiast on: March 21, 2021, 09:20:28 PM
The government of Nigeria must have realised that many Nigerians were indifferent about the ban placed formerly, they acted with prior and proper information on the subject of crypto currency. With it being obvious to the many that the ban was against the interest of the low class earners in the country, many who have been touched by the miracle of crypto refused to just call it quit and obey the government, they just had to go back on their decision or face mass disobedience.
