Yesterday match Rajisthan Royal was in good touch with bat. Jaiswal strike rate make able RR to score 200+. Middle orders did not contributed well but dhurav and Patel two hundred plus strike was bonus points for RR. CSK bowlers failed to restrict RR batsmen below 170 which is considered chaseable at this ground for second team.

RR spinners did well job. Both Ashwin and Zampa succeed to take wickets which did not allow CSK batsmen to settle down for a big chase and at last CSK lost with 31 runs behind the target despite wickets in hand.

Although CSK lost this match but I think their team is considering best and they can won this IPL.

As a result of the absence of Deepak Chahar, the Chennai Super Kings bowling attack is very inexperienced. They have youngsters like Akash Singh and Tushar Deshpande opening the bowling, with Matheesha Pathirana as the first-change bowler. The spin department is slightly more experienced with Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali and Maheesh Theekshana. It was pace bowlers who leaked the runs yesterday. 10 overs of pace cost the CSK 122 runs, while 10 overs of spin saw only 78 runs. If Dwaine Pretorius is still with CSK, it will be a good option to include him in the playing XI.
4042  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Being Russia and Russian now on: April 28, 2023, 03:31:01 AM
When it comes to the future of Russia, the militarization of the country is of most concern.  People are taught to think that war is a natural state of affairs.
~~~~
Concern for whom? NATO has been launching proxy wars against Russia ever since the USSR broke up in 1992. Despite all the assurances that were given, NATO continues to expand to the western borders of Russia. Given this, do you really expect them to sit back relaxed and sing nursery rhymes? They are doing all that is needed to preserve their country. Else what happened in Libya and Iraq will repeat in Russia as well. Every country has a right to defend itself (including Russia) and I don't know why you are complaining about it.
4043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: April 28, 2023, 03:20:08 AM
I don't know what is going on with Al Nassr. After losing the SPL match against their arch-rivals Al Hilal, they again lost to Al Wehda in Kings Cup. Al Nassr has been knocked out of Kings Cup with this defeat. Cristiano Ronaldo was clearly not happy and he was arguing with his team-mates after the loss. I don't know whether such behavior will benefit anyone (they lost the match despite the fact that Al Wehda was playing with 10 people, as Abdullah Al-Hafith got the red card in 53rd minute). Now their next match is against Al Raed on 29th April.
I feel like the team needs a big change after getting Ronaldo. It just doesn't work with this tactic. Lets be honest and say that it is not going to be the same as it is today, because Ronaldo is not as good as he used to be, that much is true, Ronaldo 10 years ago would have destroyed every team here.
However, the issue is not just the same thing, there is a huge difference and that is why I feel like there is a good amount of luck that goes along with it as well. This means that if the team is not good enough, even Ronaldo at his best may not be good. Imagine the goals they got scored on, how could that even be Ronaldos fault? He is a striker, that's mostly goalkeeper , defender and even maybe a bit midfield but not Ronaldo. We need to see that.
Hmm.. again the same argument and I don't agree with that. You are assuming that Ronaldo's playing skills have degraded over the years because of ageing. I don't think that it has happened yet. I watched the highlights of some of the recent matches involving Al Nassr, and I was surprised with his flexibility and alertness. At no point of time I could notice any impact of age. I know that Ronaldo is someone who can singlehandedly win matches for his team. But then, he is a human after-all. Without support from other players, he may be limited in his capability.
May I add something to your post Sithara007?
Croatia also deserves to be mentioned as a team that has grown stronger in the last decade.
~~~~

I would agree partially. Croatia is one of the strongest teams within the UEFA confederation. And during the last one decade, they have made massive improvements. But what will be your take, if I take the last 4-year period instead of the last 10 years? Their performance in the FIFA World Cup suggests that the quality has remained as such. They were the runners-up in 2018, and finished at the 3rd place in 2022. However, they are dependent on players who are close to the retirement age, such as Ivan Perišić, Luka Modrić and Dejan Lovren. Will they be able to perform at the same level once these players retire?
4045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: April 28, 2023, 03:00:08 AM
That's not right, whenever we are watching the world cup games we just watch the games because we feel we like the games not because our country is playing in the world cup other wise in the final match of any world cup we had only people in two countries watching the games and others will ignore the game just because their country is not playing there which is not right.

All of you need to remember one thing. World Cup matches are never played in empty stadiums. The demand for tickets are 10 times or 20 times the actual supply. During the 2022 World Cup, Qataris reserved a large fraction of tickets to themselves and made massive profits by selling these tickets to fans at exorbitant prices. So the argument that fans from the host nation may not watch the tournament in case their team is not there doesn't stand. If they don't watch, then fans from other countries will be ready to purchase the tickets. IMO, host nations should not be provided with automatic qualification. They need to qualify through the qualifier tournaments, just like the other teams.

By the way, despite the prolonged rainy weather, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are already slowly starting to advance. Now, pinpoint strikes are mainly carried out on accumulations of manpower and equipment, ammunition depots, air defense and MLRS of the invaders are being destroyed. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already crossed to the left bank of the Dnieper, seized a bridgehead and are slowly pushing the Russians to the Sea of Azov. Let the soil dry and we'll see.

I don't think that this is accurate.

I have checked the territorial changes in all the major frontline cities. Apart from Bakhmut, fighting is underway near Vuhledar, Avdeevka, Kreminna, Kupiansk, Marinka, Huliaipole and Kherson. Out of all these cities, Ukraine has gained territory only in Kherson region (and that too very small area to the North of Oleshky, where the Russian troops were not present). With each passing day, Ukraine is losing hundreds of their soldiers and making further territorial losses. I don't know how you are saying that the Ukrainians are advancing.

Really disappointed by seeing CSK’s performance in today’s match.

Well.. what you were expecting? They have a few big names such as Jadeja and Moeen Ali. When these players don't perform, they lose their matches. You also need to remember that two of their most important players are out injured. Ben Stokes and Deepak Chahar will not be playing in this season of the IPL. Chahar played a couple of matches in the beginning before the injury issue flared up again. A lot was expected from players such as Stokes, as the rest of the team is mostly comprised of players in their late 30s or early 40s, like Ambati Rayudu and MSD.

I hardly watch matches there, maybe some Women's cricket here n there, that's it. Tbh I find their quality quite good as far as streaming is concerned with virtually zero lag, maybe they also use 60 fps similar to Amazon/JIO.

Video/audio quality depends on the main broadcasters/providers of events. These folks direct their feed towards FANCODE so can't blame the FANCODE.

Yeah... same here as well. I watch a few matches when I feel really bored. But in case you are used to the high quality streams from SONY LIV or Amazon PrimeVideo, then it will take some time to get adjusted to the low quality in FANCODE. But I agree, the quality can differ widely depending on the main broadcaster. In most cases though, they have just 1-2 camera angles, and the quality is not that great. But given the variety and lack of downtime, after 1.5 years of being a subscriber, I am satisfied with their service.

Really hoping Ireland comeback stronger on their last day and win this test against Sirlanka.
Declaring innings at 202 lead is really courageous act by sirlanka either they are very confident or they want Ireland to win this test .

ROFLMAO. How do you believe that Ireland is going to win this test match against Sri Lanka? At this point, they are trailing by 158 runs, with 8 wickets in hand. Andy Balbirnie and Harry Tector are at the crease now, and at no point they looked comfortable against the spin of Prabath Jayasuriya and Ramesh Mendis. It is either going to be a win for Sri Lanka, or a draw. 90 overs remain for today and it will be a tough task for the Irish batsmen to survive, especially if there is no rain interruption. Even experienced batsmen will find it tough to confront the Lankan spinners on day 5 at the Galle International Stadium. And the Irish batsmen have hardly any international experience.

Pakistan should be happy about the win in the first ODI, after the disastrous performance during the T20 series. This time they went back to the experienced bowlers instead of the youngsters. And Naseem Shah was the reason why they won yesterday, as he had figures of 10-2-29-2. New Zealand should have ended up at somewhere around 320, but they lost their way once Daryl Mitchell got out. And the captain Tom Latham wasted a lot of balls during the middle overs. BTW, Pakistan is showing no improvement in the spin bowling department.

Hong Kong vs Kuwait
 In the match between two teams, Kuwait batted first and set a target of 272 runs in 50 overs. Kuwait batsman Usman Patel was dismissed for 50 runs off 48 balls. Adnan Idrees was dismissed for 45 runs off 45 balls. If Adnan Idrees could have scored 5 more runs, 50 runs would have been matched.  Had Adnan Idrees. Now Hong Kong is batting. Hong Kong scored 157 runs in 36 overs. Now Hong Kong has lost 5 wickets. Now Hong Kong team needs 116 runs from 84 balls to win.

Hong Kong needs 67 runs to win from 6 overs, with 5 wickets remaining. It is going to be tough for them. BTW, Nepal won the match against Qatar. After they got bundled out for just 157 runs, I was thinking that there is zero chance for a Nepal win. However Sandeep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami and Lalit Rajbanshi had other plans and Qatar could only manage a total of 89. Lamichhane was unplayable and had figures of 9.1-3-14-5. They will be facing the loser of the match between Hong Kong and Kuwait. Nepal needs to win their next two matches in order to secure a spot for the 2023 Asia Cup.

Big surprise from Sri Lanka. They declared after taking a lead of just 202 runs. Once Angelo Mathews reached his century, they decided to declare their innings and ask Ireland to bat again. Some 24 overs remain in today's play and 90 overs will be there for tomorrow. So Ireland need to survive for a total of 114 overs. Now there is almost equal chances of a win by Sri Lanka, and for a draw. Given the good form from some of the Irish batsmen, I am hopeful that they will be able to manage a draw. James McCollum and the experienced Peter Moor at the crease now.
4053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: April 27, 2023, 07:51:23 AM
With 55 overs remaining for the day, Sri Lanka has already taken the lead. And they have lost just two wickets till now. Nishan Madushka was unfortunate to miss his triple century, and he was trapped leg before by the most experienced Irish bowler (Andy McBrine). The scoring rate has come down slightly, and the last 10 overs saw only 24 runs being scored. I guess Sri Lanka will get to a lead of 300 or so sometime by the third session. They may declare slightly before the termination of third session, which should allow their bowlers 10-12 overs against the Irish batsmen.

Mistakenly came across the Deaf IPL league on FANCODE.

Unpopular opinion but have to say, to the popular belief that Deaf folks are a nice bunch is not true at all  Smiley. Kasam se just saw the bowler and company cursing (with sign language) the fielder when he misfielded.  Grin Cheesy

Fancode always have 10-12 live matches ongoing in their platform. And this is one of the reasons why I decided to renew my subscription. However the video/audio quality is not top-notch. The quality is comparable to what you get in YouTube live streams. And the annual subscription fee comes to ₹699 per year (around $8), and it doesn't put a hole in your pocket. Today I enjoyed watching the Mizoram T20 League match between Gorkha Cricket Club and Ramhlun Venglai Cricket Club. A majority of Indians don't know where Mizoram is located, but I was satisfied with the quality of play. Quality of video was OK, and the commentatory was quite good.

A batsman between du Plessis, Shahbaz, and Maxwell could have played a big innings. If Virat Kohli could have formed a partnership with him, Bengaluru had a chance to win this match. But no other batsman could stay at the crease for long except Virat Kohli. Mahipal Lomror played an excellent innings of 34 runs but it was enough. Moreover, Dinesh Karthik also did not play well in this match. Varun, Suyash and Russel's bowling were very controlled in this match. Due to the controlled bowling from the beginning of the innings, Kolkata managed to win one match after losing 4 matches.

A big psychological barrier was created as soon as Kolkata Knight Riders scored 200. It was an excellent decision from the KKR captain to send in David Wiese. He scored 15 runs from the last over, along with Rinku Singh. And once Faf du Plessis got out in the third over to the bowling of Suyash Sharma, the Royal Challengers Bangalore batsmen were under a lot of pressure. Virat Kohli was in excellent touch. But what he can do alone, when he doesn't receive any sort of support from the other batsmen? And the KKR spinners were very disciplined yesterday.

But it might also be the case that costs go higher in the case of multiple nations hosting it.

Costs may go up, but it is mostly for the fans and not for the organizers. Look at the FIFA World Cup of 2026. A total of 3 countries are hosting it - United States, Canada and Mexico. For the hosting nations, this arrangement is somewhat beneficial, because the matches are spread out across different localities and no new facilities need to be created. But for the fans, it is going to be a nightmare. They need to frequently travel from one country to another, if they want to attend all the matches of their team. Visa issues are there, and then there is a need to travel thousands or even tens of thousands of kilometers across different countries.
4057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 27, 2023, 07:09:13 AM
The Saudi government has taken various steps to introduce their country to the world. Apart from various developmental works they are now paying special attention to the sports world. They are investing in sports like football and Formula 1 and are currently focusing on cricket. As a result, they have a keen eye on the Indian Premier League. They are so enthusiastic about creating a cricket league like IPL that they have expressed their concern to India and have taken the initiative to run a new tournament. However, BCCI has not yet commented on it. I think if the ICC approve the application of Saudi Arabia, maybe we can get a good result from India.

Saudis are only interested in the publicity that they get from hosting major sporting events in their country. They have hardly taken any steps to popularize cricket to the native Arab population. It is understandable, as cricket is not an Olympic sport and is increasingly getting restricted to the South Asian community. BTW, there are some big movements from the IPL franchises. They are trying to sign deals with overseas players, to get them contracted to different teams managed by the same franchise. Details can be found here:

https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/ipl-teams-and-international-stars-in-informal-contract-discussions-1371491

If this move succeeds, then a number of star players will opt out of international cricket and may focus solely on franchise cricket.

or they can declare at around 700 and try to bowl Ireland out during the 5th day.

Matches such as this one are the reason why no one watches test cricket these days.
This is a more realistic goal for SL. They have 70-ish overs today, given rain stays away if not then it would be around 55-60 overs.

It should be okay as well because they are going okay with a healthy run rate and considering they have plenty of wickets in hand, they could go ballistic in the end and get a lead of 270-300.

That would mean a first innings total of 750-800 for Sri Lanka. Right now Irish bowlers are looking clueless. Andy McBrine is the only bowler with experience, and the remaining 3 are very young and inexperienced (Graham Hume, Matthew Humphreys and Ben White). Allrounder Curtis Campher is the only bowler who has picked up a wicket till now. Nishan Madushka is batting at 202, and I won't be surprised if he gets to 300, or even 400. Kusal Mendis is at 160 right now, and he may have his own 300 in sight. Overall, one of the most lop-sided matches I have ever watched in test cricket.
4059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 27, 2023, 06:44:55 AM
I don't know what happened to Nepal. They got bowled out for just 157 runs against Qatar. Sandeep Lamichhane at no.10 top scored with 42, and he added 46 runs for the 10th wicket partnership with Lalit Rajbanshi (the latter scored just 1 run). Nepal will be able to qualify for the semi-finals even if they lose today's match, but in all probability they will be facing Hong Kong in the knockout phase. And Hong Kong is the strongest team from Group B. This is what I don't like about Nepal. They work really hard, but when it matters they lose crucial matches.
4060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 27, 2023, 06:34:56 AM
RCB are losing their way recently. They aren't able to win without a match-winning innings from Kohli or Faf or Maxwell which goes to show how bad the other batsmen are performing in their team.

KKR are inconsistent as usual. Roy is the primary reason why they won. Iyer's catch to dismiss Kohli was great too.

KKR is inconsistent because some of their main players are either injured or out of form. But they should be happy with the performance yesterday. Reaching a total of 200, and that too against a bowling attack that includes internationals such as Mohammed Siraj, David Willey, Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga is not very easy. But they were able to do that thanks to contributions from Jason Roy, Narayan Jagadeesan, Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana and David Wiese. Rinku Singh didn't scored too many runs yesterday, but he has been their find for this season.
