no just point your miners at nicehash and enjoy the 3x to 7x rental rate while it lasts. I got .67 btc in 25 hours.  my miners (7th) should earn about .1btc in that time frame.

True, extranonce.subscribe is not absolutely required to mine on NiceHash/WestHash, you can just point your miners to our stratum servers. However, if you have a fast miner (anything > 1TH) mining with extranonce.subscribe patched cgminer gives you a bit better payouts since your hashrate is completely stable - it doesn't fluctuate when orders changes on nicehash/westhash - no disconnects from the stratum. It's only a matter of a few percents in terms of profitability, but sometimes every percent counts.

Normally I would do it.  but right now the nicehash rates are sky high due to   paycoin mining.

I do not want to screw up a  good 1.3/1.4th sp20 until someone gets them going perfectly with extranonce.subscribe

Over the last 30 hours I have been paid more then 5x normal rates.  I will do the patches after the rush.

Not to derail this thread any further... but you need to do some more research on Paycoin if you think you're going to be able to mine it for very long. Ther POW stage is only for 500,000 coins and then it's no longer mineable with ASICs.

the problem with the coin is it is really controlled by a central group.  Gaw-Zen is the controller of it.  They change  the rules often. So that 500,000 cap is not set in stone.

For now I am simply enjoying renting my rigs out to those that choose to mine it.

The price was as high as .2btc a th  the correct price is about .013 btc a th. that is 15x the norm
The price to rent is going closer to normal it is down to .04   a th that is 3x the norm.   I have earned 1btc in 30 hours I should have earned 0.13 in that time.

If I were to get  3 days at an average of 5x the norm.  I get all the more closer to having the sp20's paid off.

If the rush lasts for 2 more days diff will be 38 and change a 2% drop.

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty   =  (-1.08%) in 1.6 days

Contacted Ebay support... Nothing they can do. User is no longer registered.

Damn Chinese re-sellers...

ebay is a very hard place to do business.

Thanks again to the spondoolies team who have now also donated an SP20 for continued cgminer support!  Smiley

As power and noise are bigger issues for me than getting the maximum hashrate, can people suggest reasonable settings to run one of these stable with the fan only at 40% in summer weather?

sorry been busy with westhash and nicehash pools.

Here is my lowest current miner.
these should work with fan on 40 and 50

you will be under 700 watts and hash about 1230-1250

all temps are 85      note the yellow freq  this means you are close to or at the minimum setting for the  loop .  so in my example  you can only lower the fourth loop and except to be able to get the miner to start

40485  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: December 15, 2014, 05:39:42 AM
No I'm testing the extronance fix cgminer that nice hash has posted. if you read my posts they sometimes have serious problems and since Nicehash posted a link I'm warning everyone what the problems are BEFORE they go try out the extronance bug fixed cgminer so they don't brick their SP20's. I'm picking up the SP20 tomorrow but I have some Antminer S3+'s on hand so I'm testing out nicehash's new cgminer build with the extronance bug fix in it. Better to break a $200 miner than a $799 miner. I'm testing to see if the latest flash or more importantly to us, the latest cgminer with the extronance fix for Nicehash is responsible for the "hashrate nosedive of death". I'm possibly breaking my cheap shit so you don't break your expensive shit. I know they are 2 different machines but the cgminer will be basically the same. If all goes well then I will test the SP20 with the new cgminer so you don't have to and tell you if it's worth it or not. Considering nicehash today was like 1100% above just bitcoin mining it may be worth the effort. But if you want to test the SP20 with the new extronance bug fix by all means go ahead, you would be doing us all a favour by testing it. Just post the results so we can have a look and be very careful. Backup the old flash build and the cgminer twice. Once on the machine and once locally. If you're unsure of what you're doing stop...I've seen alot of stuff break over the years from bad flashing and other screwups without the tech guy making a backup to re-flash. It's an $800 mistake if it goes wrong.

+1 i've been waiting to see if Zvi would implement the extranonce.sub but I can't consider it for my SP-Tech miners from a nicehash branch that hasn't been fully tested.

no just point your miners at nicehash and enjoy the 3x to 7x rental rate while it lasts. I got .67 btc in 25 hours.  my miners (7th) should earn about .1btc in that time frame.

Pretty amazing we need to throw a party if we get 2 negative numbers in a row.  I thought we would see 1-2 jump up but I will be happy to be wrong.

Well a lot of hash power is going towards paycoin.   this may be some of the decline.  as long as it lasts for a while we should enjoy it.

Go paycoin!

How much does mining paycoin compare to BTC on amount mined lets say per T?

(I could not find a good calculator)

No one really price knows it is heavily backed by GAW-ZEN>  I look at them as a possible destruction to bitcoin or a bust-out item  and not much in between.  They have a better concept on allowing "Normal" non-tech users spend it.  They are supposed to have a lot of Wall street money.  If they implement the coin as a credit-debit card type hooked up with visa's logo they will be the coin of the future not bit coin…  WhoTF  really knows if they can do all they say they can do.

But I still have a few bucks in their corner with an eye to shift to them big time if they are the real deal.   Another reason I went to sp20's over the s-3+'s. EASY to just switch over to mining them instead of BTC.  a lot of people thought that 2015 will be the year of the DC's  I think it is going to be a war between BTC  and Paycoin.  I hope it is as I can bounce back and forth between them
looking to get 2 nice half loaves of bread so to speak.

@ suchmoon in the last 24 hours nicehash has paid 4 to 10 fold the rate for btc if you rent your rig.

So 7th would earn about 0.100 btc  in 24 hours  and I earned 0.400 btc  in 24 hours renting the sp20's.

This has happened with other coins on westhash  every other coin went bust  and turned out to be stupid to mine.

But paycoin promises more then any coin ever.--------------------       promises promises is the key.

K did a test with some of my Antminers. Still fucked. Goes fine until after a while the hashrate goes from 450Gh/s to 40 and sits there. Seems random when it happens only way to get it back is by re-connecting the miners. I'll try and let it go all night on one miner and see how long it takes(if ever) to recover as soon as the hashrate goes tits up. I've seen it go as long as an hour before going haywire. Speed seems the same when it's working so you're not losing or gaining there. Will keep you posted. I recommend you DO NOT upgrade to the extronance bug "fix" until it actually can be proven to work. I got a backup copy on my comp and the miner of the older non-fixed cgminer in case it goes badly.

I'm leaving one of my Antminers with the extronance fix on all night and will be seeing if it recovers, how long, or ever. It may be that the hashrate dumps because it's changing coins and instead of dropping altogether and just mining a new one right away it may be gradually reducing the hashrate then gradually ramping up on a new coin. Whether it's worth it or not who knows but I'll be watching.

thank you for the info.  right now is not a good time to be playing with s-3's or sp20's  as the rates for rentals are very good.

With the way difficulty has been going its a great time to be a bitcoin miner and make an ROI on any reliable machine

just keep it up for a few more diff adjustments.

lets say 39 in 2 days

  then 40 on the 30th.

41 on the 13th

and finally on my birthday jan 27th  a nice 42.

Tracking says it's in Memphis, TN! ETA on Tuesday. Cheesy

you may get it on monday.  I have had 4 come in via Memphis  then Newark NJ then me.   2 came 1 day early.  check early tomorrow like 8am or so just to see if it is close to you.

Well I had 22 of the LEPA on 5 GPU rigs for a long time so I am very familiar with the rails. I guess I will just try both PSU and see what happens!

as long as you know your rail setup the lepa is fine.
40492  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Can not access SP20 interface from browser ! on: December 14, 2014, 04:16:06 PM
I have 2 SP20s, for one of them I can not acces the settings page anymore,
My router assiged the following ip adresees : 192.168.1.99 and 192.168.1.100
I can access just fine the one ending with 99
But I can not acces the one with 100 anymore saying that the web page is not available when I try accessing it from my browser

Both of them are up and mining, they have the pool settings stored from previous settings, I just can't access one of them's menu

this are the ip's asigned by the router: http://gyazo.com/1dcfb737298ce594e928aa99131f1dac

I've also let the router assign other IP's, it still won't let me access the menu !

Any ideeas? thank you !

okay 1) is it mining on the pool?

okay 2) do you have a ip scanner program like angry ip

Phil - Thanks for this thread! My SP20 arrives on Monday and I am trying to decide how I should power it. My goal is the most GH I can squeeze out of a single PSU (I am almost out of space is my issue). My options for the single PSU are: Corsair 1200AXi, LEPA 1600, and Silverstone 1500. These are all PSU I have left over from my GPU farming days. I am assuming since the Silverstone only has 25 AMP rails it is out. The LEPA has 4 x 30 AMP rails, and the Corsair is a single rail. I am leaning towards the Corsair, but will it provide more than the LEPA? If anyone has some thoughts on this let me know!

Edit: I do not care about power consumption - just GH!

use the corsair.  run thesp in the 1400gh range (yeah I know not 1700)  and add a s-3 to the corsair run that at freq 237-243

you get 1400gh + 475 gh = 1875gh

I have the 5 of them  and to run it to the max is like taking my little Kia Forte and driving down to Atlanic City to play some craps.

It is a 60 mile ride Almost all highway.  Now my Kia Can go 120mph on the speedometer.

When I go down to AC I just drive at 75mph it is an easy drive. I don't try to run the car at 120 or even 110 mph. Even if I have free gas.

These machines run really well at the 1350-1410gh mark. The amount of extra power to go higher could be spent on an s-3 on the same psu.

It is easy to get just about 1800gh  with 1 sp20 and 1 s-3 on your corsair.
It will be hard to get 1700 alone with the sp20 and your corsair.

I figure you can do 100 to 200gh more blending the 2 on the corsair rather then maxing the 1 sp20

( both setups will use same power in watts around 1200-1300)

Isn't the Corsair multi-rail but you can select some virtual “single rail” or “multi-rail” software modes?

I remember people had trouble with them on KnC gear.

I'd stick with the LEPA

I run evga's and seasonics.  years ago I had  a fire (not mining) with a corsair was very lucky to have no one hurt.

So I feel a bit superstitious about using a corsair.

The lepa has a lot of rails and can be a bit confusing to use.  But if you hook it up correctly it is a good psu.

I told him the corsair because I thought it was single rail.

Interesting there are 3.1 days left to go
At present the calculation is negative we might be in for a second difficulty decrease (honestly was expecting a small marginal increase instead of it dropping a bit more downward)
Estimated Next Difficulty: 39,952,664,727 (-0.14%)

Saying farewell to 40 million.

I have been looking for this to happen.  Just don't know if we are good for 1  or 2 or more jumps  like this.

If .3 watt gear can be built for good prices and if it goes to market in feb or march  .  we can all stand  pat for a while.

If will be interesting if .3 watt gear comes out in bulk at a good price. there is no question all the gear over 1 watt is leaving the network and getting replaced by .8 or .6 watt gear. This combined with the 350 usd price has really slowed growth.

If good .3 watt gear arrives it may force out all the s-'3s  this is possible at the correct btc per usd price.  and the network will not grow that much.

I replaced almost all of my s-3s with sp20's just easier to do. I kept my kwatts the same and boosted my gh a little.

some may lower the kwatts a keep the gh the same.

+1. My 1-1.2w/gh asicminer equipment will probably be unplugged the moment diff grows another 5%.

Just put a trio of sp31 units online for just over 14th/8kW - as long as jumps stay <5% for a few more months or price gets up past $600 again

Can't quite do that much my power max in the winter is 6kw.  in the summer 3 kwatt without A/C

right now BTC = 342 at https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty   and diff is   : (-0.46%)

with  only 2.5 days to go for adjustment    lower then +2%   looks like it will happen

At 3 days to go, it's going to be close to 0 again.

If so it will mean that

 nov 5   diff was  39,603,666,252

Dec 16 to dec 29 diff would be 40,007,470,271

So for 54-56 days  you have a flat diff.

with btc at 350usd  it could do this as long as it wants.

I truly would love to see it last at under 42-44  up to my birthday in late JAN 2015.

I knew it would get flater and I have been posting that it would do this  Since Sept 2014.

I am very hopeful for a long time like this.

I have recently updated my SP20s to latest firmware, and one of them is having problems hashing since I updated to latest version :
It mines at about 1600 GH/S and then suddenly goes  to 0 and then starts again with 1.600 GH/S and so on
Before the firmware update it was hashing stable at around 1600 GH/S

anyone could know what could cause this sudden losses in hashing power ??

here is a guess you have all the miners set to .69 volts and your max is .79 volts.   not correct they should be closer.

like .69 .69 .69 .69    and .7 max    somewhere some place a spondooolies tech said .005 is the most between your startups and your max.

I have found .010 is still okay.

you are .100 apart!!

I wonder if someone tried mix and match PSU, like CX750 and CX500 to power one SP20 at the lower total wattage, like 800W?
Unfortunately, i don't have CX850, only 750 and 500 plus evga 1300. If i can mix and match, i might order more, otherwise I will have to run one Sp20 on two CX750, which would be suboptimal, of course.

my problem is I don't have many small psu's.

I think I have a seasonic 650 gold and a seasonic 450 gold fanless.

Maybe I try testing that on sunday.  I will need to use a fan on the fanless  but I have sooo many fans I can do that.
