4061  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you consider spreading FUD to be unethical? on: February 02, 2023, 02:23:02 AM
I think if you’re spreading misinformation for nefarious reasons like lowering the price of an investment or scaring people away from an investment then that is definitely unethical. If you are genuinely afraid for reasons due to your own ignorance than I could see how expressing your fear is a cry for being educated and not an unethical spreading of misinformation.

Boston Celtics having a huge lead against the Nets, most likely the early handicap or above -9.5 could be covered by the Celtics.

Now the handicap is -28.5 for them.

Sixers and Magic still very close game, could go either way same with Portland vs Memphis.

Ya, Boston is having their way with the Nets on ESPN right now. It shows you that when it comes to the teams they would face in the playoffs they need to ride Durant. Without KD I don’t think they’re a very good team.

The Suns and Hawks are up next. This should be a good game with the Booker injury still in play. You don’t see Trae Young on TV very often.

It is starting to look like the market might need some fresh air here if you're looking at a far enough away chart.  I think it's likely in the short term we see a drop and a serious retest of how low the market is willing to go.  Then maybe we'll be able to break free of this resistance and head up to $30,000 in a flash.  Until that happens, I think $10K is still on the table, as far fetched as it might feel at the moment.  A rejection here back down to the $16K range would look pretty devastating on a chart, so I'm crossing my fingers we don't correct very far.
4064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 01, 2023, 06:31:46 PM
With only 89 points to go now it's starting to get exciting.  In order for LeBron to do it at home and on TNT against the Bucks, he's going to have to score 30 points per game in the next three games.  That's his average, so it isn't out of the question.  The pressure will certainly be on though as I don't think anyone wants to be on the other side of this piece of history.  Still, I'm looking for LeBron to try and put up 40 ppg in the next 2 games to make it easy on himself to make the record happen.  It is starting to look a little like it might happen on ABC in front of the Warriors fans though.

4065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 26 in Saudi Arabia on: February 01, 2023, 06:27:17 PM
Cannot wait for Tommy Fury to knock Jake Paul out cold. Then we can stop pretending that Jake Paul is the next big thing in boxing and he will be exposed for the types of fights he has been setting up. I never liked the paul brothers because of some of the things they have done but talking purely on boxing Jake is a good amateur but he is not cut out for real boxers with experience. He will be exposed and I think Tommy Fury will be the one to do it.

Personally I think you're wrong.  Tommy Fury to me doesn't look like a polished professional fighter.  He's also been injured a lot recently if you're to believe why he hasn't fought Paul already...  I'll probably be putting some money on Jake and feeling good about it, but who knows, maybe I don't know anything about boxing.  Smiley  It will be entertaining to say the least and I'm surprised how friendly everything has been leading up to the fight other than some petty shots online.  I look forward to seeing how it plays out.
4066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being Lonely drives you towards Gambling....! on: February 01, 2023, 04:57:14 AM
I think if you’re gambling when you’re lonely it could be a coping device that might not be very healthy. Nothing wrong with gambling online while you’re alone, but if you’re only doing it out of boredom I think you’ll find that it is an expensive way to deal with being alone. If it is a problem then I’d treat it like an addiction and do your best to replace it with a different way to pass the time.
4067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 01, 2023, 04:26:39 AM
Crazy ending to that Lakers game. LeBron got another chance to get a game winner but this time he passed the ball to Anthony Davis who then committed an offensive foul which ended up with the game going to overtime. They still won and LeBron moved a little closer to the record. Westbrook seemed to get a lot of crunch time minutes as well.
4068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 01, 2023, 12:03:53 AM
Let's make a fun poll, we haven't changed it for a while.

When will LeBron pass Kareem?

Feb. 4: at New Orleans Pelicans
Feb. 7: vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Feb. 9: vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Feb. 11: at Golden State Warriors
Feb. 13: at Portland Trail Blazers

https://www.nba.com/news/lebron-james-scoring-tracker

I went with the Bucks.  I think it makes a lot of sense for LeBron to pass Kareem at home and on TV.  That game will be at Staples Center and it will also be televised on TNT so you can believe it will be a spectacle on TV.  It also gives LeBron enough padding to where he can make it so he easily is able to score enough points so that it can be well planned for all the festivities.  I think the earlier games would mean LeBron has to keep performing at a crazy level, which judging from him taking last night off, I don't think he wants to do for this record.  So keep February 9th free to watch TNT, because that's when I say he breaks it.  Smiley
4069  Economy / Gambling / Re: PVP Games Lounge launching soon on: January 31, 2023, 11:59:00 PM
From the amount of responses given the lack of information contained in this thread, it shows just how hungry the people are for PVP style gambling.  This is why I think it's inevitable that a game system will be created or converted to be able to easily allow for PVP wagering among opponents.  Imagine how crazy it would be if you could go into a Call of Duty lobby and bet someone that you'd end with more kills than them, or that your team will win the game...  It would be combining 2 pretty intense activities with a high addiction rate.  I imagine plenty of people would try their hand at professional gaming at that point and there would be some great and sad stories.
4070  Other / Meta / Re: Hypothetical Btalk Forum App Version/ Social Media features? on: January 31, 2023, 06:25:29 PM
Knowing what I know about Apple after working with them on issues with their App Store, I fell pretty confident in saying that a simple mobile app for this website would likely be rejected anyway.  I've made mobile apps for websites in the past and one thing that Apple is a stickler for is new functionality over using the site on their browser.  Even if it has a new interface, Apple will likely reject it without additional functionality.  So my question is, what additional functionality would a mobile app bring to the website?  It could be as simple as a button to forward a post to a friend via SMS, or other similar useless functionality, but it would have to have something to even be approved once development has been completed, at least for iPhones.
4071  Economy / Speculation / Re: FED seem like the most powerful manipulator overall on: January 31, 2023, 06:19:05 PM
There's a reason that Wall Street has a saying, "Don't fight the Fed."  Even when they're dead wrong, like they were with inflation, they still managed to move markets with their speech.

Not because their decisions mostly cause the markets to move, doesn't automatically mean they're making those decisions to make the markets move a certain way.

I think that's exactly why they're making those decisions.  They literally are trying to make markets move in a certain way to stay within their parameters.  The problem is that they're absolutely terrible at it and when you have an Administration like Biden's ignoring their guidance and printing money left and right making it even more difficult, all they can do is quit.  Which is what we saw early in Biden's presidency.
4072  Economy / Speculation / Re: what now ? on: January 31, 2023, 04:41:54 PM
Bitcoin is very bullish at the moment ,
what you guys think , it's a short term rally or beginning of bull market
or I missed the bottom
i am something less active so ,
Want some updates

If this is the beginning of a multi-year rally, you may have missed the bottom but zooming out when it hits $200K you won’t be able to tell the difference between $16K and $23K on a chart. They will both look like the bottom. I wouldn’t want to be sitting on the sidelines if that’s the case. Sure, it might fall in the short term, but that’s why you have to weigh the risks and reward. I think I’d rather take the ride than watch where it goes.
4073  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Ordinals: Rare and exotic sats on: January 31, 2023, 04:38:49 PM
I am still researching and learning about this project but I have to say that I absolutely love the responses to it from certain developers. It shows who is a control freak that only likes Bitcoin when it does what they want it to. Use the code for something they deem as not appropriate and suddenly Bitcoin isn’t free and open software but instead something you can only use how they want you to use it. For that reason I love it. Eat your heart out controlling devs. Miners aren’t going to do your bidding and censor transactions, but it’s cute of you to ask.
4074  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 31, 2023, 03:13:39 PM
We got a little bit of a correction over the weekend as we dipped below $23,000 but it doesn’t seem to be lasting. I would have preferred to see a little bigger correction to try and wipe out some leverage as we move up, but it shows the strength of the market currently. Too many people are buying right now for a proper correction. So far resistance is holding, but I’m not sure how long that will last.
4075  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 12,000 in 2023. on: January 31, 2023, 03:11:43 PM
I don’t think Bitcoin ever sees $12,000 again. I’d be pretty shocked if it did. I think if it wasn’t for FTX absolutely doing everything they possibly could to take down the Bitcoin market, we would have never dropped below $20,000 to begin with. As we appear to already be into the next 4-year cycle, I think the price really has only one way to go for the next few months, up.
4076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 31, 2023, 03:09:28 PM
LeBron is now just 117 points away from breaking Kareem’s all time scoring record. This is one of the most coveted records in professional sports and will be a big deal when it happens. You can watch him in action tonight as he chases history as the Lakers play the Knicks on TNT. It’s coming down to the wire. Probably only 4 or 5 more games until he breaks the record…

Still looking for offers.  Maybe a 0.03 BTC price or something in that ballpark depending on shipping arrangements...  Feel free to shoot me an offer.  Haven't found one I like well enough to accept yet.

Charlotte Hornets vs Miami Heat - Miami Heat (-3.5)

I actually think I'll take my chances with the Charlotte Hornets tonight, I like them more and I find value in the approximately 2.9 Odds they're offered for ML, with both Lamelo Ball and Terry Rozier playing, even with Cody Martin out, I believe the Hornets still stand more than a decent chance here, and I'm riding with 'em.

I don’t know… LaMelo Ball has been playing pretty poorly lately. I guess they’ve got to win eventually but I’m not sure I’d feel good about my money riding on them. Especially the way Bam Adebayo has been playing. That guy is a beast and I’m not sure how well the little guards for Charlotte are going to do trying to penetrate against the Miami defense.

Yeah, I understand but I felt the odds were rather ridiculous given how not so fit the Miami Heat themselves are, and I really didn't find any worthy value in the +4.5 for the Hornets, I believe if they're going to lose the game, the Miami Heat would cover the spread. That said, it's been a close first half both teams having a go at each other, neither team have had any significant lead yet, despite the numerous lead changes.

Bam Adebayo isn't slowing down for nobody !!!

EDIT: what a game down the stretch that was, it was pretty much intense, and despite the Hornets creating a double digit lead, Miami Heat stayed locked in and could've taken the lead if that Tyler Herro 3pt attempt had went, that surely could have changed the final result, but in the end the Hornets were able to survive and secure the win!

Good call on that bet.  I thought for sure that would be a loser but the Charlotte Hornets came through with the win.  I'm surprised but happy that your bet went the way you wanted it, given that I didn't have any money on the game that's really the best outcome.  Smiley  Don't get too comfortable betting on the Hornets though, I don't really like the way that team is built.  They do appear to be fishing for a trade by dangling their guard out there to try and get LaMelo a more compatible teammate.  I'd personally like to see LaMelo play for a different team though.  The Hornets showed some promise for a minute but now appear to be ready to gut their roster.
4079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 30, 2023, 05:47:00 PM
Logan Paul just dropped a video on his Twitter account hinting that he’s going to be making a big announcement tomorrow involving Dana White and the UFC. Possibly even the announcement of a fight against Paddy Pimblett… Not sure how true that could be, but the video did enough to make me believe that Logan is going to commit to an MMA fight. Tomorrow we’ll find out for sure.
