4061  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Badger (a Super Mod of casino) and Bitvest.io scammed me 100 LTC on: January 21, 2022, 08:44:55 AM
a post you created in october about bitvest hotwallet  with a newbie account and you never replied
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5364608.0

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5381469.0

and now with third new account in this forum same problem and most logical question if you have a problem since  october and same problem the mod or hot wallet why you still deposit and play there ? in the other post you said worst casino and yet in janauary 2022 you still play there  does any of this make since Huh Huh Huh

Where do you get that these three accounts belong to the same person? Any proof?
4062  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: IRA Rollover? on: January 21, 2022, 07:14:45 AM
I am with mk4 on this. Keep in mind that apart from paying 10% you will also have to pay other taxes and the bill could be very expensive. Transferring it to another IRA that has investment in Bitcoin seems to me to be a better option, but in my particular case I have it separated. I have funds in retirement account that is not exposed to Bitcoin and I buy Bitcoin regularly doing DCA. Since that is what I do, I recommend it. Don't be in a hurry and build up your Bitcoin investment little by little.
4063  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market sentiments ? on: January 21, 2022, 07:08:34 AM
My sentiment for this 2022 is starting to be quite bearish. I think the vast majority of us on the forum were quite bullish in 2021 and expected a much higher price. This was in line with predictions seen from analysts, who were giving a minimum of $100K for 2021, and in some cases a much higher price.

Now in 2022 there is a division of opinion between those who believe that the price top of this cycle was reached in 2021, and those who believe that we are in a somewhat delayed cycle and that the best is yet to come.

What I believe is that the Fed's plans are going to affect the price in the short term, and unless it changes its plans in 2022 and starts printing massively again, instead of reducing printing and raising rates, I don't see the price going above $70K this year.

I still think Bitcoin is the best asset to buy for the long term though, and that's why I continue to invest in it.

4064  Economy / Reputation / Re: (pastet89 reputation) Rules/criteria to change feedback on request on: January 21, 2022, 06:55:24 AM
Well, I am going to lock the thread. At first I thought this thread could be used to share experiences on removing old feedback, and in some cases they have been shared, but as the thread is already focused on a person in question and I have it clear, I will not leave the thread open.

The defense of pastet89 is based on two arguments:

1) He is a good forum member who has never scammed anyone, etc.

That argument does not work because we have seen many cases on the forum of people who had never scammed anyone previously and ended up doing it, in some cases people with a previous great reputation on the forum, much more than pastet89.

2) His bot/trading system does not try to scam anyone.

Bullshit. And the fact that LoyceV and suchmoon have seen it clearly reaffirms my idea. The only doubt I had was whether to replace the old feedback with a new (negative) one giving more explanations instead of just saying "scammer", but as they both have seen it clear as well, I don't think explanations of anything are needed. Anyone with a minimum idea of mathematics and with a minimum experience in the forums knows that it is the typical system that promises incredible returns and does not explain why the person offering it is in a forum for supposed lack of capital instead of being on his yacht on his way to the Bahamas, because no matter how little capital he has, with that profitability it is very easy to get rich quick.

4065  Economy / Reputation / Re: Rules/criteria to change feedback on request on: January 20, 2022, 12:28:13 PM
Ok so, this is the guy:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=201237

This is the post.

https://loyce.club/archive/posts/5664/56646227.html

At the time I simply put "scammer" because I am sick and tired of seeing these types of offers from trading systems, bots, etc. that promise incredible returns.

According to my criteria, if you create a thread for this, you are a scammer until you prove otherwise, and the OP did not give a single answer in that thread where, except for a seemingly fake newbie, we all doubted his system.

In all the time I have been on the forums not a single one of those offers turned out to be real, and the OP either disappeared or after a while I found out that he had managed to scam someone with his supposed system.

Today he wrote me:

Hello,

I haven't logged since long time and just saw that you have posted a note on my Trust reputation page that I am a scammer just because I have offered my trading bot.

My profile was created back in 2013, I have over 1,000 posts and I have never scammed anyone here. You can see from my profile history that back in the years when I was organizing a contest and I worked with a trusted member to use them for escrow and everything went smooth: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=678335.0 . I did that especially because I do not want to hold anyone's money. That was my intention with the bot as well - as all bots on the markets, the users money are supposed to be on the users' exchange own account and the bot is trading with their keys. So if anyone could get scammed this is me, because I can not even be guaranteed the user will pay the percentage at the end.

Would you mind removing the bad note, please? It is absolutely soul crushing when you have not done anything bad to see your old profile being marked as scammers one, it just feels unfair.

I am not offering the bot anymore now but if you need more details regarding the post in question let's do a video Skype call about it please. I have nothing to hide, including my face. You have a good reputation so based on that I believe you are an honest person with good intentions and you will not leave things this way because that's really unfair.

Best regards,

I'm going to tell him that I created this thread in case he wants to defend himself here.
4066  Economy / Reputation / Re: Rules/criteria to change feedback on request on: January 20, 2022, 11:12:48 AM
I don't know where you get that the feedback is different for being in DT or not. I didn't say that. I said that it seems that this person gives importance now that I am in DT because the feedback is visible. I stand by my feedback, which I don't know if I would detail it more now. I think if I change it it's going to be from negative to negative explaining in more detail. What makes me doubt and I do not see clear is that in the PM he sounds to me like an honest person and I have seen his post history and it makes me doubt too. I don't know whether to share the details or what.

4067  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Journey of Bitcoin talk on: January 20, 2022, 10:37:51 AM
.
If you received 5 merits as a gift, do you believe you can get 5 more by creating this post?

Actually, I was about to respond in the OP's thread: Bitcoin talk Merit

When he was asking:
Quote
What is the finest way to get the Merit?

My answer would have been something like: "Just create a thread in the B&H section about merit and you will get some", but I saw some reputable members considering him as genuine and already having merited him, so I didn't reply.

What I see now is the same we see several times in this section. People creating these kind of threads hoping to fish some merits. And since it usually works for them, they don't stop.
4068  Economy / Reputation / (pastet89 reputation) Rules/criteria to change feedback on request on: January 20, 2022, 09:28:48 AM
I just received a PM requesting me to delete a negative feedback I wrote almost a year ago, in good manners. When I wrote it I wasn't in DT and the person didn't give it any importance, but now he does. I have reviewed the case and it is not clear to me. I thought I would ask those of you who have been in DT for a longer time if you have any criteria or experiences you would like to share in this regard.
4069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Man lost everything to Crypto on: January 20, 2022, 09:17:19 AM
Gambling and gamblers exists even before bitcoin and cryptocurrencies have existed.

Nothing really new here; this is pretty much just a reminder to newbies that there's no such thing as 'easy money'. And to top it all off — don't do drugs, peeps.

Yes, crypto is the least relevant word here. It is someone who has problems and externalizes them with addictions and compulsive behaviors. If crypto didn't come into existence, he would have externalized it with gambling, drugs, etc.

The tabloid press and the anti-crypto crowd are doing the story a lot of good, though.
4070  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Badger (a Super Mod of casino) and Bitvest.io scammed me 100 LTC on: January 20, 2022, 07:03:24 AM
I can hardly believe what I just read. Assuming what the OP tells is true, and I don't doubt it, what's going on? Lightlord is (supposedly) still sick and there is no one in charge? I'm not going to waste a lot of time on this, as I already wasted it back in the day. I wouldn't deposit a dime in Bitvest, nor 777coin, that's before I read the OP's story.

Good luck to those who still trust these sites.

4071  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How bitcoin has employed more African youths. on: January 20, 2022, 06:56:11 AM
Bitcoin has employed more youths than the government of some African countries.

Better, relying on government employment leads to a communist country, which is a disaster.

African countries are most times referred to as third world countries because of their under-development and under-civilization caused mainly by bad leadership. Africans have high level of poverty rate and unemployment. These problems made an average African youth to be inferior to his foreign mates.

Don't use that word again. Humans are not superior or inferior, we are different, some are better looking, taller, richer etc. but talking about superior and inferior takes us back to a time when the theory of human races predominated (instead of talking about ethnic origins as now) and it was assumed that some races were superior to others. We know how that ended, in Auschwitz and things like that.

Regarding the other thing you say, I am glad that Bitcoin has been an opportunity for people from African countries. The advantage is that nowadays everyone has at least a cell phone and is no longer dependent on physically going to a place to do manual labor to earn a living.

Bitcoin has brought liberty to Africa.

And I hope it will bring a lot more.
4072  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Journey of Bitcoin talk on: January 20, 2022, 06:42:52 AM
Just use this forum as other forums you have been in, although in this one there are some particularities, especially regarding moderation.

What I see as essentially different in this forum compared to others is that you can make money on it, and that makes a lot of people worry about rank up and things like that, but I think the key to success here is that money is secondary for you. Many people end up getting caught plagiarizing or abusing in some way or another out of a desire to make a quick buck.
4073  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin not going below 40.000 (probably) on: January 20, 2022, 04:59:06 AM
1. A lot of rich people bought probably at 40.000 and 30.000. So many of them will very likely do lobbying and marketing to keep the price up.
2. News and future events should be already priced in, except a black swan.

Why do you think Bitcoin will probably not going lower than 40.000?

In general I think your reasoning is logical, what happens is that reality often escapes reasoning, there are always things that we miss that can influence the price. Look at the S2F model, for example, a very reasoned and very well argued model, to date failed.

I too think it unlikely that the price will go below $40K, especially well below, but we can never know for sure.
4074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investment against inflation on: January 20, 2022, 04:56:21 AM
Well, if Bitcoin is the best investment against inflation it is because it is simply the best investment. What gives you the best return is what protects you the most from fiat devaluation. It just lacks to be a little less volatile, but the day that comes, it will be less profitable too.

Regarding the restaurant owner, he has done something similar to Michael Saylor, put his fiat reserves in Bitcoin, he only needs to get into debt to be 100% like Saylor. We do not know if there is any debt in this business expansion, so although he is not borrowing directly to buy Bitcoin, from an accounting point of view he would be doing so.

4075  Economy / Speculation / Re: No strength in Bitcoin in higher time frames on: January 19, 2022, 10:56:23 AM
I wonder if we are about to move in the bear market ?

This is the million dollar question. We have seen it asked quite a bit lately on the forum and, no one has a certain answer, otherwise if you could predict it you would become a millionaire.

As we are in uncharted territory we will have to see how the first few months of the year go at least to see. I believe we can beat the 2021 ATH this year, but some people think that was the top of the cycle. Others think we are in a somewhat delayed cycle, and that the best is yet to come.

4076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New York sports betting going live this week. on: January 19, 2022, 07:16:36 AM

New york has decriminalized prostitution and gambling in an attempt to entice residents to remain in state.

Rather than moving to florida or texas as has become increasingly common of late.

Very interesting observation!

LMAO.

It looks like a desperate move to stop the exodus. I don't know if it will work for them, because at the end of the day, prostitution consumers are mostly men and not all of them. As for gambling, I gues percentages are similar. I

If in a couple or marriage they were thinking of going to Florida, let's see how the man tries to convince the woman to stay because he wants to gamble or frequent prostitutes.
4077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Myth vs Facts and My Assumptions about Bitcoin on: January 19, 2022, 06:49:39 AM
Early adopters are unfairly rewarded
I'd like to point out that I've been hearing this statement from different users ever since 2014 that I got involved with bitcoin and they will repeat it in the future too. Funny thing is that if they bought bitcoin in 2014-2015 instead of nagging they would have bought it at about $400 and now the price is about $40,000 which is 100 times higher.
Funnier thing is that those who are nagging today and not buying bitcoin will complain in the near future when price is $400,000!

The kind of people who say that expect the State to solve their problems instead of taking the initiative to solve them themselves. As if getting into mining in 2011 or buying Bitcoin had no merit. They dream of equalizing what is not equal, because if today all the wealth were distributed equally among all the inhabitants of the earth, tomorrow there would be rich and poor again.

Nor do they want to learn that Bitcoin was created precisely to free us from the clutches of the State (and central banks), not to depend on it.
4078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador Bitcoin wallet onboard four million users on: January 19, 2022, 04:53:11 AM
Well, it doesn't sound like such good news to me either. It's neither good nor bad. Nothing that we could not expect from El Salvador, where Bitcoin has been considered legal tender and a giveaway is given. What would be good news is that other countries would follow its lead, as rumored. By the way, there were some problems with money disappearing from wallets. Does anyone know if they have been solved? I guess if we haven't heard anything else it was a one-off problem.

4079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin User Loses Record $1.1M on: January 19, 2022, 04:47:49 AM
I had always thought that scammers make this kind of traps because if a small percentage of people fall for it, it is profitable for them, but I could not imagine that a user would fall into the trap for such a large amount. I certainly don't feel sorry for him, because on the one hand he was motivated by greed, and on the other hand, if he lost that amount I guess he is not poor. I feel worse when people who barely have enough to eat are swindled.

That's a cheap way of losing such a huge amount of money, greed will ever cost you more if not careful, my question is, is Michael Saylor a btc doubler? Why the hell will someone foolishly send 26 btc over to get double without any escrow or going through any legal process, it doesn't sound right and I don't want to believe there are people who are still this dumb, it is ridiculous.

It is ridiculous but very profitable for scammers.
4080  Economy / Economics / Re: PEOPLE DURING THE PANDEMIC. on: January 18, 2022, 10:46:38 AM
There are as many ways to earn here and most of it is by playing various NFT GAMES.

This is a growing market now. I would tell anyone who is considering starting to play poker now to make money to look into NFT games. The former is a shrinking market, while the latter is growing.

Also one of the good things about investing in cryptocurrencies is that you see how your hard-earned money to invest grows and you don’t have to pay tax every time you earn.

This is relative. If by every time you earn you mean every time you sell or trade shitcoins, you should pay tax. If you mean that even if the price goes up a lot, if you don't sell you don't have to pay tax, you are right. That is as long as some crazy people don't impose an unrealized capital gains tax, so everyone will sell to avoid paying it.
