4061  Economy / Economics / Re: Die today, Die tommorrow, the same dying! still get vaccinated! on: July 06, 2021, 10:25:49 AM
How gullible can people become, when they are desperate. They seem to think that they can trust pharmaceutical companies that violated people's rights on several different occasions. Take Ivermectin as an example... many people has taken this drug during their Covid infection and they survived... (a drug that has been approved for human consumption ...many years ago)

This has been silently brushed to the side, because big Pharmaceutical companies spend Billions on research to develop a vaccine that are promoted by governments to "protect" against the virus.  Roll Eyes

This virus is going to keep on mutating and the vaccine is not going to protect you against the new strains. So what happens then, big pharmaceutical companies are going to make small changes and profit from the new strain.  Roll Eyes
4062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the practical value of Bitcoin on: July 06, 2021, 08:19:48 AM
The practical value of Bitcoin is linked to it's ability to being an alternative payment network. Now we have seen several instances where traditional payment systems like credit cards and PayPal have failed users in the past. (Instances where these centralized payment systems, blocked payments to organizations and services, based on their own decision making)

Having the ability to make payments without any third party intermediary is potentially one of the biggest advantages of using this technology and having no charge backs is very good for trust in a transaction.  Wink
4063  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-06-24]Crypto honchos see miners fleeing China as crackdown deepens on: July 05, 2021, 03:46:15 PM
This should be placed in the "Good" news section and not in the "Panic" section of this forum.  Roll Eyes   It has been said for several years that "Bitcoin mining is too centralized in China" and now this so-called Chinese monopoly has been broken by their own government.  Grin

People should celebrate that the large Chinese mining farms are relocating to other countries and that it cannot be used as a "scare tactic" by our competitors and the mass media.

Now let's just hope that these mining farms are also going to relocate to areas with "clean" renewable energy sources.
4064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Twitch secretly end payments with Bitcoin? on: July 05, 2021, 12:34:40 PM
There is definitely some regional restrictions in place, because a bunch of my friends in other countries has paid with Bitcoin via Twitch and some of them are having problems now.  Roll Eyes

I think they still accept Crypto currencies, but it depends where you stay and what your governments view is on Crypto as a payment option. Some countries only allow Crypto if you use it via a Payment processor, because people behind these payments are not anonymous ..when they pay via Payment processors.  Roll Eyes
4065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Look at the Bitcoin bull run from the policies of China and the United States on: July 05, 2021, 08:03:19 AM
The economic policies of both China and the USA are definitely very important to the well being of Bitcoin and other Crypto currencies. We know when these economies struggle, Bitcoin just flourish ...because people will turn to Crypto as a hedge against economic hardship.

Bitcoin will have a Bullrun when there are positive vibes coming from regulators in these countries, but the opposite is also true..as we have seen with the latest clamp down on Bitcoin in China. (We lost almost 50% of Bitcoin's value, when the Chinese government started with these bans)   Roll Eyes
4066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent can sport be strengthened with cryptocurrencies on: July 04, 2021, 09:03:16 PM
Well, the only thing that Crypto currencies can do for Sport ...is to add some "Money" in the form of Sponsorship and hosting large events. We have already seen Stake.com signing up 6 UFC fighters and also paying for major marketing for some of the events.  Wink

Stake also bought the rights to Live Stream some of the events on their site and this is bringing more viewers to these events. The more competitors are paid through major sponsorships, the more events can be hosted and people pay to see these events.  Wink

What I want to see now, is competitors in these events.. getting match winnings in Crypto currencies.  Grin
4067  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this a gang up against cryptocurrency? Or ways to regulation? on: July 04, 2021, 08:10:43 PM
I doubt if government officials are bothered with a Bull or a Bear Bitcoin market, they are too busy printing toilet paper money.  Roll Eyes  The governments will do anything to hold onto the control over people and the Covid pandemic has shown how far they are willing to go with that. (Lockdowns and rules and regulations)

The latest bans has more to do with governments wanting to regulate Crypto currencies to control the taxes that are the life blood of these politicians and the law enforcement that are backing them. (Armies and Law enforcement has to be paid to control them too)  Roll Eyes
4068  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Million Dollar Race II - UFC Betting Partner - Play Smarter 🥊 on: July 04, 2021, 04:10:09 PM
Sop talking with this trash, there is a client who has 200k stuck on stake.com
Solve that first before the trashtalk continues.

Is this an Alt account for the same person that reported the locked account on another thread? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5347268.0

Stunna already said that the Stake Team are looking into this :

While we can't comment publicly with details right now I assure you that our team is looking into this and will remain in touch.

Let's give them the opportunity to investigate the matter and then see if there are any legit reason for doing this. They just paid out over $2 000 000 in Weekly, so $200k is not going to break the House.  Roll Eyes
4069  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What's the rationale behind difficulty adjustment after every 2016 blocks? on: July 04, 2021, 02:34:52 PM
I wonder if Satoshi ever considered that 2 weeks would be enough for people to shutdown their mining farms and then relocate to another site, if something happened? We do Disaster Recovery projects at work and our goal is always to have a backup system in place, within 1 to 2 weeks after a disaster happened.

I think Satoshi also factored in how long it would take to recover from any disaster that will destroy a large percentage of the hashing power in a specific location... right? (I cannot just be a random decision that was based on math)  Roll Eyes
4070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Happens to the People Wanting to Run a Node in 20+ Years? on: July 04, 2021, 12:18:28 PM
You are assuming that technology will stay where it is ....and that is wrong. We already have very fast bandwidth in some of the most remote countries in the world. People thought 1mb and 5mb was fast a few years ago and now people are having between 10mb and 100mb and that is still on the slow side.  Roll Eyes

The storage capacity is also getting bigger and bigger ....so storing the Blockchain for hosting a full node ..will just grow as the Blockchain grows. (SSD's with a 100TB will soon become the norm.... mark my words)  Wink

4071  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-07-03] Bitcoin Mining Difficulty Records Largest Drop in History on: July 04, 2021, 10:25:15 AM
This kind of reporting is typically what the mass media does. They cherry pick certain scenarios and then they blow it up to be news worthy. (Click bait type articles)

The hashrate did drop, but when the majority of the hashrate was located in China, it was a issue to them too. They made a real big whoooah out of the centralization of hashing power being in China and now this is being rectified and they are not reporting on that? Why?

Why are they not saying that the hashrate is dropping, because the miners are relocating out of China and into other countries?
4072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The real reason why China banned Bitcoin. on: July 04, 2021, 09:09:21 AM
This Carbon neutrality thing is total bullshit and I even wonder if OP is not working for the Chinese government? (Doing some damage control)  Roll Eyes

If Carbon neutrality was the real issue, then China could have implemented some policy to only allow Bitcoin mining in areas where renewable energy was produced. (They decided to blanket ban it, which says something totally different)

Why hide the fact that the Chinese government wants full control and that Bitcoin is a threat to their control? Why hide the fact that they are creating their own centralized Digital reserve currency and that they are trying to eliminate the competition?  Roll Eyes
4073  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Please HELP: Blockchain.info Wallet problem- Large Reward paid on: July 03, 2021, 05:42:47 PM
I have to tell you that I too struggled my ass off with Blockchain.info when they changed things up and I know people were complaining a lot about them, back in the day. (The randomness of their Seed generator also came into question at some time)

I am worried that your Seed words might also be compromised, if you tried them before on another wallet. I never even "unlocked" the Private Key option on the site, when I still used it... because it gave a warning that it would be compromised if you did.

Good luck getting those coins back, because the support on that site is horrible.  Roll Eyes
4074  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Stake frozen my account $181k from sports betting (only Euros/Wimbledon) on: July 03, 2021, 03:00:29 PM
Just came off live chat to enquire on what is happening, also to ask what reason my chat privileges were removed.
It is shocking response, "your account will remain permanently muted" and then dodged my question as to why

Note my balance is now slightly less, as I placed a bet on Ukraine to win today but still 178k as TRX value is up (yes, can still bet plenty)

Something is fishy here.... You said in your first post that they have frozen your account and now you still have access to the account to place bets? Do you actually mean that they have blocked the withdrawal option to your account? (They will block the withdrawal, if there are fishy things being done with that account or accounts linked to that account)

In any way, I think this is just a case where the verification team is a bit too busy lately, because they might be swamped with loads of people verifying their accounts lately to qualify for the extra 10% for the Weekly. (You get 10% extra, if your account is verified)  Wink
4075  Economy / Economics / Re: “You don’t spend money now, you can’t spend after you died” on: July 03, 2021, 09:24:39 AM
Totally agree. Hustle hard then enjoy. Do not deprive yourself. Instead, find time to reward yourself, whether it is something luxurious or travelling around the world. As long as your happy and with the company of your lovedones. Better be wise in saving and spending your money. Of course it is also important to save for retirement but we must also enjoy life. we cannot spend money after we die, so better live your life to the fullest. There must be a balance between enjoyment and saving. you must also share your blessings.

It is a mindset like this that are pushing the debt statistics in this world. A lot of people do not save for their old age and they become a problem to the tax payers for the future. I travel to Africa a lot and I see poverty all over these countries and most of them are being supported by their government. (Social grants)

The "what IF" always come to mind, when I look at scenarios like this.... What IF you survive Covid and you live to the age of 90? (The odds of that happening is bigger than you not surviving it)  Wink
4076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin be protected by freedom of speech? on: July 02, 2021, 07:10:20 PM
The governments of the world will piss on your rights to freedom of speech, if you use anything to evade taxes and if they cannot manipulate the thing you are using as a payment option. It is after all about "control" and we know Bitcoin is removing some of the control that these governments have.  Roll Eyes

Our rights are trampled on every day, so trying to legitimize Bitcoin with "Freedom of Speech" trickery ..is not going to change the way governments see Bitcoin. (Crypto is a threat to their control)  Roll Eyes
4077  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Chips.gg is incapable casino , Owner of site begging to remove post on: July 02, 2021, 02:47:59 PM
It's safe to assume most if not all casinos  have KYC now even though they are casual about it, but should you win big their AML rules kick in which usually agitate players .

True anonymous gambling is long gone, the earlier we accept this for a fact the easier it is to deal with KYC/AML.

Congrats on your big win OP.

There are still some sites out there that will allow you to gamble without you having to verify (KYC) but it gets a bit tricky when you win big. They usually require you to "verify" after a big win and when you want to withdraw your money.

They look the other way when you push the wager for them, because that is how they are making their profit, but when you want to withdraw.. they lose money and that is why they will look for excuses not to pay.  Roll Eyes

A site like Freebitco.in will never ask you to verify and there are a few others, just Google it.  Wink
4078  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Blocks of Crypto -- a Minecraft-Crypto Concept on: July 02, 2021, 10:04:53 AM
I see some users are suggesting that you should create some in-game currency that can be converted to Crypto, but for me it kind of defeats the purpose. I want to see a server where you can use Bitcoin (BTC) as the economy and not some kind of fantasy token. (We see lots of games where in-game currencies are created and in some of these games, people pre-mine them to enrich themselves)

Minecraft still has a huge cult following and we can tap into a group of people that are very passionate and would appreciate some real world reward for their time and effort. (That are not linked to Fiat currencies)  Wink

4079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey agree to talk about bitcoin at an event in July on: July 02, 2021, 08:08:50 AM
Listen, a lot of people are "Butt hurt" over the whole Elon Musk tweets and how it supposedly influenced the Bitcoin price. Just remember that the biggest manipulation of the recent Bitcoin price drop, was due to some Chinese Bitcoin whales and a issue that they had with another Bitcoin whale. (A synchronized Bitcoin dump was orchestrated by them) .....so stop blaming everything on Elon Musk!

In any way, Elon Musk has some very good insight into payment systems with his history with PayPal... so he can give a very good discussion on the topic. (He also has the power to boost Bitcoin as a payment option in his businesses)
4080  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: July 01, 2021, 08:10:35 PM
Running of Faucet was their business model from the very beginning. When bitcoin's price started to rise, it was just really impossible for them to operate only via simple dice and faucet as they had. They couldn't give away normal rewards and people aren't attracted to low rewards, so, they changed their business model. If I amn't mistaken, they started by offering 4% interest on your deposit money and then they started massive development and you'll see the result (but I hope they'll dramatically change their User Interface).
As far as I remember they always had that dice, hi/lo or whatever you want to name it game there. It was always one of the highest house edges in all of crypto world, when they first started with the 5% that was seen as something horrible at the time because many places had 1% and some even tried to drop that as well to get some more customers so when one place showed up and said flat out its 5% house edge everyone went crazy and I have to be honest I didn't think it would survive for too long that way.

However with the free faucet, lottery, rewards and many alike free things people soon realized that the 5% is something worth doing in exchange of so much free stuff given to you and that is how they grew big. Which is why they didn't set out to be just a free faucet, they set out to be something bigger and that is what we are seeing right now, them being so much bigger.

I think the hi/low game with the 5% house edge just became a novelty thing for faucet users to spend their dust on ...and serious gamblers never used it for too long, because as you said... many other Crypto casinos are offering much better odds on their dice games.

The thing is, the average faucet user do not gather enough from the free Satoshi to reach the withdrawal limit or to even have enough to make a withdrawal worth it, so they will rather risk it on the Multiplier to make it worth their effort if they win anything.  Roll Eyes

Some users have invested in a good referral network, so they earn enough to splash some coin on the Multiplier and they could care less if the house edge was 1% or 10%... because they see the passive income from the referral side as free money.  Cheesy
