4061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Luke Campbell WBC Lightweight Interim Title (January 2) on: January 03, 2021, 11:05:42 PM
Still a good win though, despite we all know that he will win or maybe this is just a cherry pick for King Ryan. This is a perfect ending or beginning for him, getting knock down, gets off the canvass, then that perfect body shot that reminds of Hopkins vs Dela Hoya.

Let's hear if WBC will order Haney now to face Garcia. Although it is complicated as there are 2 mandatories, Fortuna and now Garcia.

4064  Economy / Economics / Re: NFL Player Salary Paid in Bitcoin on: December 30, 2020, 12:58:59 PM
Many athletes and sports personalities are really into bitcoin or at least crypto so it's just about time that we include NFL as well. I think he knows the risk here that's why he requested a 50/50, fiat/BTC payment as salary.

And this may set a precedent to other NFL players as well, so I guess this is really a good and welcoming news, and it could really influence others, even those billionaire owners can rethink how bitcoin could be a good investment to grow their wealth even more.
4065  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SEC Knocking on a projects door means the end? on: December 30, 2020, 11:56:35 AM
I still remember this case, Kik Interactive Inc. - SEC.gov. And as far as I can remember, KIN price tank and it literally went to 0. But in the end, they have to settled in millions with SEC, yes they are still trading as of now though. But as compare to Ripple they haven't been delisted on any exchanges.

Kik’s Token Survives SEC Battle, No Barrier to Exchange Listings, Says Kin Foundation.
4066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Luke Campbell WBC Lightweight Interim Title (January 2) on: December 30, 2020, 12:02:04 AM
it will definitely be a match between Garcia and Campbell, once he has beaten Campbell, Garcia is not only younger but also better/faster/skilled in my opinion he will have the way to a match with Lomachenko and a good chance of becoming the champion

What do you mean? you're kidding right? Loma already lost to Lopez, he doesn't have a belt anymore and his name is not including in the best for this division, he needs to go down at least because this division might be too much for Loma.

Garcia is on its way to fame already, just need to step up his competition to be the next cash cow and Campbell will be his stepping stone here.

Garcia's training video for all his fans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8jYpGURz5I. Look at that hand speed.
4067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC has replaced XRP for the 4th place on: December 29, 2020, 11:26:25 PM
According to the CoinMarketCap ranking, LTC is now the 4th highest marketcap coin as XRP lost its value significantly, 39% within last 24 hour and 63% in the last week which is the result of recent SEC regulation. This sounds good, good cryptocurrency are being recognised. And it's very potential for LTC as, if Tether goes wrong, LTC will be the 3rd highest marketcap coin in the cryptocurrency world.
Something big is waiting, maybe coming soon.

Obviously, XRP is really losing a lot of money hence it's valuation is going down hard. While LTC on the other hand is also enjoying a great year after it's halving. Crypto though has been recognised already, specially how companies are looking at bitcoin as a hedge.

For tether? I doubt that they can be dislodge in the 3rd spot, just look at the volumes, greater than bitcoin so it will remain there no doubt.
4068  Economy / Speculation / Re: I doubt Bitcoin will dip below 20k again on: December 29, 2020, 11:05:10 PM
Too many institutions and big money behind it now!!!   Whats everyones opinion explain?BTC
I'm not ruling it out anything is possible in a highly volatile market and we have history to prove that, even if there are many institutions or whales coming and buying there are also whales and institutions that are selling for profit, so always expect the unexpected.

as we dont know the motives of these whales and institutions, we are blind for what may happen next in case they made their decision to what will happen to their holdings. crypto market is very unpredictable so as a crypto holder, one should have their plans ready at any given moment of time.
trust your instincts and dont rely from naysayers. even so-called experts are not to be taken seriously. if youve been long enough in this industry, you know what to do already.

Well for companies like MicroStrategy (not sure if we can call them whales or manipulators), their motive is simply, buy as much as they can because bitcoin for them is a hedge for their treasury assets.

That's why it's really hard to manipulate bitcoin now because of so many players who has their own profit. Of course the market is very unpredictable, but then again the bitcoin narrative has change. Institution positions has shifted, so conditions is ripe for a bull run next year.
4069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving , and its Effects on: December 29, 2020, 10:27:38 PM
When is the next halving? What effects should we expect from this? That's what I'm interested in.
the effects that come at the next halving will only be temporary and purely hype based. just like the previous couple of halvings that we had.
the real effects of halving is what you are seeing NOW. the reduced production speed is not going to affect the price right away because the mined coins aren't finding their way to the market right away. but after a while (like a year) we start seeing how 50% less new coins being created feels like on the price.

Exactly, the effects of halving is not immediately felt, so obviously it happen last May and almost 6 months after we are setting all time high one after another. Previously, it has the same effects as well, take months as well. Although this year it was very different, the circumstances as not the same as compare to the last halving.

So we don't know what conditions the market will be in 2024 halving, the effects might be slower.
4070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has bitcoin done to you? on: December 29, 2020, 10:05:22 PM
2017's bull run and the eventual collapse in 2018 really teaches us everything. Personally, I should have HODL early in 2017 and sold everything in its peak in 2017, but eventually I liquidated everything slowly in 2018 because I panic.

But it thought me a good lesson though, now I've learn to HODL in 2020. And bitcoin did a lot of positive things for me this year, specially financially, so it's really a win situation for me and I"m sure for the majority of us.
4071  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: https://bitcoinfocus.xyz/ - Ponzi Scheme on: December 28, 2020, 11:44:00 PM
Its a part of their game and they know well that due to this level of affiliate commission many crypto users will start to promote their site which will help them to reach their targeted users.
It's normal for a Ponzi scheme site. and the reality is people are promoting ponzi a lot than investing there. Smiley

what I can see this is the time of running ponzi scheme. LOl. Many newbie will be fall into this due to rise of bitcoin price. For example someone had 50 dollars in past and now it is 3x big. Means 150 and they can take a risk with profit to earn a few bucks from ponzi.

Yes, inexperience newbies (I'm sure most of us at one point was a victim of this kind of ponzi scheme).

As the price of bitcoin is rising, and so is this group of criminals creating even a *.xyz domain, lol, to victimised unsuspecting noobs in crypto sphere.

And newbies have this kind of greedy mentality (not generalising), but majority thinks they can be instant profits by just investing their bitcoin on this kind of sites.
4072  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fake Yearn Finance Dashboard on: December 28, 2020, 11:13:54 PM
I doubt there are gullible users will fall on this kind of fake cheap trick. Just always make sure that you are accessing from a legit yearn site. To make sure visit coingecko or coinmarketcap and access the website from there so anyone can ensure that they are dealing with the correct site. Dont use Google search engine, chances are that a fake website already above the real one and if you mistook it you'll end up being scammed.

Yeah, google ads has been a hotbed for this criminals making fake and phishing website just like what the OP discovered. Very similar in style and look and one can easily fall for it if we are not careful.

For crypto users, you can still use Google but be sure you know about this kind of fake websites. For newbies? I would agree to stay away until they got enough experience to distinguished fake from the real ones. There are a lot of ways to find the legit one trick you mention.
4073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FOMO has started for Bitcoin on: December 28, 2020, 10:42:58 PM
We might come across so many users posting unrealistic predictions about Bitcoin. We have already witnessed this during December 2017, so please be more cautious than ever before you invest into bitcoin by doing your own research and if you are ready for a long term investment then you may think of investing so that even during worst case situation you will get back your returns just like those invested during last peak and hodled it got it now. If you are looking for short term gain then give it a second thought.

FOMO started since we hit $10k, specially when the news broke out of institutions and companies putting their reserved assets in bitcoin. So this is very different from 2017, wherein there are a lot of irrational buyers and even if we already reached the bubble, still many people buying bitcoin because they think it will go to $50k.

But this time, as I have said before, bitcoin's narrative is flipping from a speculative asset to hedge against government QE and worsening market or financial situations.
4074  Economy / Economics / Re: Strong kyc reason on: December 28, 2020, 01:38:45 PM
^^ And to add to that, even if they sell our data, I don't see them earning big amounts here.

But I do agree that this is fraudulent practice, even here in our country there are reports that banks do this trick. Fortunately, our government has implemented strict rules for this, so if ever a bank or any financial entity that requires KYC suddenly sell their customers data, then they have to pay heavy fine.
4075  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE.ME ⭐NEW v5.0⭐ | Unmoderated- Uncensored Thread on: December 28, 2020, 01:16:23 PM
Just want to jump here does the Bitdice.me a scam? why did they create a new ANN thread? just to make it self moderated and deleted all the scam facts about them? looks like they have new updates about their website.

As I gambling platform?  I never seen anyone complain about Bitdice.me scamming their customers.

But you may want to ask the thread started here, he should know better,  Grin

Yes, they have been promising a new and revamp Bitdice.me that they have been working for months or years now and they finally roll it out before the end of 2020. And as gamblers, we always wanted to try and see what is latest, and so far from what I heard, they now have a sport bookies.
4076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: December 27, 2020, 12:52:38 PM
^^ Manny Pacquiao rematch? Nah, Floyd will not fight him again, that's why he is doing some exhibitions and easy match for millions to avoid Manny at all cost.

I don't understand the point in fighting against the same individual again and again. Floyd beat Manny once, and that should be it. He won the match in a very lop-sided manner. The same goes for other boxers as well. I can understand the GGG vs Canelo trilogy fight, because the first match ended in a draw and the second one was stolen from GGG. So the purpose of the third match is justified. But that is not the case with Floyd vs Manny.

Because for me that's the money fight, whatever angle you look at it. We all know that he is all in for the money, then a Pacquaio fight will set boxing records again, but he refuse, for whatever reason. And then fight for exhibition for less money?

In case the GGG vs Canelo though, Canelo doesn't want to give GGG a rematch.

And Floyd being Floyd, chooses a non boxer to fight, yes a bigger man, but as far as ring experienced, he has nothing, easy fight for Mayweather.

And for the sake for the argument that a boxer shouldn't rematch someone because they beat them convincingly, take Donaire vs Darchy, Donaire knock him out for good, but they met a year or two later for a rematch because Darchy is asking for it, same result.
4077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Altcoins Follow BTC Rally? on: December 27, 2020, 10:56:38 AM
Again, with bitcoin ever changing narrative, I might say that the pattern might have change already.

Just look at the dominance of bitcoin, 70% currently and then what a super rally to touch new all time high of $27k and still growing. While the rest of the alts are lagging behind, Ethereum for instance are still down 50% from it's previous all time high.

So the whole altcoin follow the bitcoin rally is no where as close as to like 2017 or early 2018. Time has change, investors getting smart.
4078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the power of HOLD and believe on: December 27, 2020, 10:19:28 AM
as we know, the price of Bitcoin had a bear run in 2018 with the lowest price at $3k on Dec 17, 2018 and now the price of Bitcoin has reached $25k and this is the new ATH price for Bitcoin, so if you buy Bitcoin in 2018 and HOLD until now, then you can get a profit of more than 700% and I also congratulate those of you who HOLD or bought Bitcoin in 2018 when the price of Bitcoin dump.

Not just bitcoin though, even Ethereum who has its lowest price at around $80 in 2018 could have turn you big profits as well.

That's why we need to understand that HODL takes years, not just 12 months, but at least 3 years will get you a net positive %. But we also have to understand the exponential growth will slow down, so that 700% returns might be like 200%-300% in the future. But still a good investments compare to other instruments or assets out there.
4079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why are there many big us and international institutions investing in bitcoin ? on: December 27, 2020, 08:53:05 AM
Bitcoin has been rising since 2009 and it had many ath and hype , especially on december 2017 where it reached its bigger ATH , but why did institutions did that now ?

The rise and apparent bubble in 2017 was cause by CME and CBoE bitcoin future contract offerings. That time it was a big hit as everyone didn't know what it was so there was a big FOMO.

But in 2020 the scenario was different, we might as well attribute it to Covid-19. When we have this pandemic, we lose so much value, up to -65% if I'm not mistaken causing the price to fall to $3k. But as things cleared up, institutions and companies saw bitcoin as an opportunity to hedge their assets and they won't sell even at we peaked or reaches all time high. That's why many saw bitcoin's shifting narrative, yes still speculative asset for majority, specially traders, but now since they are big companies investing on it, bitcoin become a hedge for the companies finances.
4080  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] ⭐🚀 as.exchange ⭐🚀 Innovative Derivatives Exchange ⭐🚀 on: December 27, 2020, 07:51:27 AM
Correct since it is pending, the patent is not going to be public until the body finally decided to approved it or reject. But in any case I will assume that the patent has been filed since 2019 as the CEO  Zvezdin, Nikolay, Tranched Value Securities papers have been in the market since Feb 2019.

https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3337692

You can download the whole paper in the link that I provided in PDF format.

You are absolutely correct. The research paper provides a very comprehensive and detailed overview of the proposed new financial product. It was published even before we started as.exchange. Actually at that time, the CEO was considering whether this product should be patented and sold to other financial institutions for their own use, or should be implemented by himself. And the final decision was to create as.exchange, as there are many other opportunities in the market for other financial products as well which can be implemented (and we will do so!), while other institutions might misuse the product. Therefore, because the CEO believed that if he implement it himself with his team and friends, there could be much greater benefits for the market, and for common people, therefore, here we are Smiley

Good decision by the CEO though, yes I have said before the idea is really good, might be difficult to understand specially for average joe investors but as I/others dig deeper into the product itself it really has the potential to be a good financial product.

Also the final decision to file for a patent is clever I might say, because yeah it could be abuse or misuse by others. But by having a patent, everyone should follow the rule of law here that could benefits us and the financial market in the long run.
