There are no shortcuts to running a pool.  You have to be a master SQL administrator, DBA, weak programmer, security admin and windows engineer to run a pool.  You have to for one compile the source in visual studio 2017, and be ready for redeploying it when it changes.  You have to spend 20 hours a week answering emails and doing adhoc sql queries, etc.  If we had someone that even believed they could just compile it once and let it run it will be down within one month and all your coins will be lost.

I might be up to it,  my daily work is to compile code in vs.net 2017 and im a certified sql server developer, i know MSSQL pretty well.  I can deploy a web app, even if my main work is mostly win apps i've deployed enough web apps in IIS and asp.net to handle that task.

Is this pool code public? i could give it a try if so...

Sure I guess since we are up to 4000 miners now, it might be a good time to expand.

So the code is here:
https://github.com/biblepay/biblepaypool

The compile install deployment guide is here:
https://github.com/biblepay/BiblePayPool/blob/master/Deploying%20A%20BiblePayPool.docx

Please give feedback once you read the guide if you still are crazy enough to do it.

The pool is a lightning rod for haters, hackers, etc, so it really needs the anti-ddos feature enabled.
I recommend the $60 per month vultr service (you see in the doc) for multiple reasons.

Thanks!

Hi guys,

I would just like to implore the highly efficient dev and slack team whom I have had the pleasure of annoying many times Wink , to please do something about the letter writing.  I have written 2 letters in mid December which had not been up voted properly for some reason.  I really don't mind, I will write letters for free, but what is working on my nerves is that idiotic trolls will take their time to down vote each and every letter (not only mine) and try to skinny every last dime.  I do apologize for for my little rant, but it needs to be addressed.

Anyhow.
Still rooting for Rob and the guys.
Keep up the good work.

Ed

Thanks a lot Ed, yes we should pay users to upvote the letters!  Maybe we can share some of the letter fees for proofreading, and voting...  Ill jump on that right after I fix the faucet.

Thanks for the reply.  I admire the positive attitude and perseverance that you guys I showing.  I honestly don't know how you do it.

Keep up the good work

Ed

The feature to pay 5 BBP for each distinct letters upvote or downvote per Pool User is finished, but not deployed yet.  I will put some type of slogan on it when its ready to use.

greedy ROB?  more ppl told about you  discord too,FB too, telegram too, REDDIT too

arent you ashamed?

EXPLAIN ALL MINERS THIS

in last 7 days i checked this
2000 miners on pool = results was 52 (24%)
3998 miners on pool = results is 42 (21%)
this is unbelievable

and pool fees 13% is record between coins  Embarrassed  for what you need 13%?

we have to protect our expenses

Yes, I do think you should personally kick in 1btc for the original free pool development- it would be nice.  Have you contributed anything to biblepay?

Yes, it is true that I have only Spent money to help the pool and the miners, and that means money has gone Out of my account Into the pool.  I guess you dont understand the concepts of basic accounting.

Yeah, I guess Im greedy for Giving more than Im taking in, right?

Dear Rob,

I offered him a full cloud server to setup a pool.Well he did not show up for 1 week. I closed the server blocked him on Skype.

I am offering similar server to someone who can manage a such pool. Or if anyone can setup for me I will take care of it.

HI friend, does the pool server have install script?

As long as I understand it works on windows and has no automatic installation.

Alright thank you, I won't bother with it installing it then, as I'm clueless what to do, and even if I succeeded maybe security breach, don't want to risk that. Thanks for the help.
As for Rob is there a way I can contribute to biblepay not with technical stuff? I have told friends and family. But possibly I can talk to the priest in my church in Amsterdam, any idea how to promote it to him so he can take donations each Sunday in bbp instead of money? I think a mobile wallet would be much useful for them to adapt donations in that way.
P.S it is catholic church so I hope no problem with that.

Best regards

No, there can be no automatic installation for a pool, otherwise how would you know the pool didnt have a script in it to give 50% to the orphans?

The pool costs 13%?
If it's true, it's too high.

Its going down to 3% over the next 30 days or so, depending on how many blocks we hit.
I'm contributing some of that BBP to make the acceleration faster.

This is the reply of BBP admin to my email. Why email? Nice one.

Dear Okane,

From where I am looking the image. Things look bad for you.

Yeah, I apologize for reacting so quickly, I guess he hit a bad nerve when I saw the inbox filled with the swear words.

Ill try to be more loving in the future.

I already enabled auto withdraw before the block 24600. This is my BiblePay Address: B5qRVLsZevPSAQn7XJcdczNh8vJo8sswsL, when the block 24600 came I checked my hashrate I saw my miner workder "okane" there is share but no added to balance. So I re-verify my BBP Address again but the same problem Why is that happen? You are lousy Dev.

Quite frankly, my opinion is Rob should ignore people who post asking for help and are abusive in the same post.
What do you expect from fake Christians?

I read someone posted to get bbp on ledger we need to deposit 75k euro we get 1000 engraved ledgers plus the coin on it.
We can do pre-sale for 100euro each so we get bbp on ledger. It is frustrating to keep coins on hotwallet.
And of course nice marketing addition to BBP.
The other 25k euro could cover shipping and for the persons time for packaging etc.
anyone up with this idea?

P.S: The ledgers are selling online resellers for 200-350euro each for normal one.

FAUCET IS BACK UP!

Very nice! Any idea when the sorting function in pool can be functional? I have to scroll the entire list when adding miners to check if they came online.

You can just go to the Home page and see the miners that are online in the My Miners section, and below it the section "Missing Miners" shows the ones who have hashed before successfully, but have fallen off radar for more than an hour.

I like that new feature to the pool.

I do have a question, I have been trying to withdraw my coins from the pool, and I keep getting a message to check back later because someone just withdrew a large sum.  I understand you probably have the coins in cold storage, but there has to be a better way to allow people to withdraw.  Going through the process multiple times isn't the most fun.

Ok, I relaxed the timing by 80% so it should not be a nuisance now.  It will go away in about 15 days when auto-payments are raised to 50%.

I think we need to wait at least a few months until our treasury/budget is bigger (worth more).
I believe our next superblock will be 5.7 million BBP coins. (and is split between 10% Charity, 5% IT, 2.5% PR, 2.5% P2P)
Code:
getgovernanceinfo
getsuperblockbudget 30750
At current market rate of $0.009 USD per BBP, next budget is potentially worth $52k

https://www.reddit.com/r/BiblePay/comments/7okhl5/hardware_wallet_support/

Plus there are other solutions for good backups other than the ledger.   For one there will be more hardware providers soon, who allow us to type in an ASCII character during setup and then they should work with biblepay.

Other than that, there are other ways to achieve high security.  You can make a new wallet, encrypt it with a long password, send coins to it, put it on a flash drive and put it in cold storage, then download the hard drive cleaning program and erase the wallet.dat sectors from your PC.  And of course, keep a printed copy of the private key on paper and put it in a safe.  Put the usb in the safe also.   Burn a cd rom with the wallet.dat file and put it in the safe.

biblepay: you dont know what is different on your coin? very funny

diff on https://biblepay-explorer.org/  didnt change last 2 weeks ...
Why would diff change?  F9000 does not increase diff with a nonce limit in place.  I noticed 95% of your posts are either negative, misleading, derogatory, slanderous, and inaccurate.

You basically just assume we are the same as bitcoin, but again, that is misleading and inaccurate.

I also noticed you think everything is black and white and have no regard for more than one moving part at a time.

4094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: January 09, 2018, 03:03:28 PM
Reward today very very low. I dont understand why my Hps still same as 2 day ago.

The reward is divided by 3914 other miners, as Znffal pointed out, we have incresed from 2700 to 3914 in one week.

The question is, why is the pool solving less blocks per day?  I don't know how many Asian botnets or private pools are out there.
Has anyone graphed our total network hash PS?  The answer might lie here <-----------------------------------

Can someone do that please?  Graph this for all the naysayers.

Diff is not increasing because of our low nonce limit, I believe.

HI Rob

How to figure out network hash? This botnet make to much blocks, we are going down to 1/5th of all blocks. That is weird, increase miners decrease block.

Lets work in parallel - we have a lot to do - please lets not address this question to Me- address it to everyone.

Lets put someone in charge of this.  Total network hashps is well known in crypto, you guys can solve this....

I need to be available to add the next gospel feature to the pool: BBPU.  Bible Pay University features.

Someone asked about auto-withdraw:

One, its not enforced yet, I'm waiting for the pool to regain a little more health.
Two, the payment is made in the morning around 9AM CST.
Three, the payment is only made to you if the pool owes you more than 10BBP after calculating 5% of your Mature balance.
To find if a payment has been made check your transaction log, you can export it with the printer icon.

Hi rob,

You figure out what the issue is with the pool solving so less blocks? please let us know if we can do something, we are eager to help solve this.

Best wishes
You don't have to be Einstein to understand what is going on;)
All questions about pool problem are ignored... but guys its nothing to worry about MN are live...
you cant buy/sell coin but MN are alive...
coin don't have almost nothing common with this what Rob said on relese(small minners, 10% MN) but its ok. Most important thing is ok, charity coin help MN owers. Hail to our "oprhans"
P.S. how many people are here from begining? I'm asking about pure minners not MN owners?
I don't get the negativity.  I have a cheap micro PC with a low end processor that uses very little electricity.  I only leave it on during the day and sometimes just for a few hours a day.  It mines coins every day, some days are better than others.  The value of the coins isn't much now but if BBP can get on a decent exchange, they will probably be worth something.  My old laptop that's not much use for anything can mine coins.  There aren't many coins out there that can be mined by low spec computers so easily.  The orphans are getting a nice lot of money.  Isn't this exactly what a Christian coin should be doing?

Thanks!  Thats true, try mining litecoin on a PC with a GPU, and see how many coins you earn in 6 months, or vertcoin on a laptop.

I'm taking a look at fixing the faucet now that the proposal auto-paid the pool back the faucet expenses from inception.

The autocofig for mining in the wallet wrote some "pool2" in my biblepay.conf
Is this the second pool you are searching for?

pool=http://pool2.biblepay.org

No, I don't think so. It's just different DNS name for the same server.

Best regards,
Simon

There is a difference though- the pool2 is actually a separate pool application that shares the same SQL server, so it did help our performance to deploy two instances of the pool.

We have HTTPS support on pool2 also.

Each of these things is questionable, and I dont think you will be able to create a login page.
