4081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: November 07, 2017, 11:52:22 PM
Would like to ask again since it apparently passed under the radar.

Is it going to be possible to start mining in August already?
You can lend your left over computational power to others in return for SONM. They will make this marketplace future in the new release on the testnet. They will eliminate all bugs and make 99,99% sure their code is working. Than publish it on the testnet and u can earn real SONM. It depends if there are any bugs found that cause to a delay, we don't know. Be patient and keep on smiling, long term this coin will make us rich. Thanks for the people who sold to me at basically the lowest point.
Thanks for the answer. I was wondering if it would be possible to rent my rig out in August 2018 when the next version goes live though? Or is that a bit later?
4082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Multiple ERC20 tokens in one ethereum wallet on: November 07, 2017, 11:25:38 PM
Keep them on one place is so convenience to trade or send for someone Smiley. I dont want use offline wallet, so expensive to own.
The $100 or whatever a hardware wallet cost are very cheap if you have any substantial amount of money in crypto. Hardware wallets are different from offline wallets by the way.

Perhaps I should have been cleared. I am currently using a hardware wallet and not offline. But both are safer than online but it does make it more challenging to transact. With safety comes some inconvenience.

As for the cost of the hardware wallet, for me it's easily justifiable. I've read way too many articles and post where people have lost their private keys or had their keys phished from them and had their coins stolen. And with the cryptocurrency markets really just now catching the general public's attention and money the value of these coins have risen considerably and likely will continue to do. Cheap insurance to me.
Yeah I agree. It's cheaper than most other insurances so there's no reason not to get one. Especially once you start scratching on the 6 digits or upwards in crypto investments.
4083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: November 07, 2017, 11:20:46 PM
Ethereum is rising !!! to the moon
No it's not? It's been declining due to the Parity screw up.

It's declining indeed but I'm not sure it's due to Parity. It looks more like a global movement looking at Coinmarketcap.

Anyway I hope investors and believers out there know the difference between a contract (meaning devs e.g Parity) screwing up and the Ethereum network screwing up (which is not the case here nor it was the case with the DAO back in da days).
I can almost guarantee you blindly that most people don't understand the difference. It would still be a problem if this would result in a fork though. I would lose all trust in Ethereum if it kept forking to save people from their mishaps.
4084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: November 07, 2017, 11:18:25 PM
Hello everyone! I've bought 18 MCO tokens at 16 dollars when it was being pumped up. But now it went pretty down to 5-6 dollars. And now I'm concerned about this Visa deal more than ever. I was relieved when i saw this article https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-11-01/visa-approves-monaco-cryptocurrency-card-for-singapore-residents Other news sites quotes from Bloomberg's article so my question: is there any other official statement about this improvement other than the developer or bloomberg? I sent an email to Visa about this thing. Will be waiting for the answer.
By the way it's not a debit card. It's a prepaid card. There is a difference. Please don't falsify the facts...
Visa prepaid cards can take money directly from your linked bank account, which makes them functionally the same as debit cards. The Visa deal has gone through.

But that's not the reason why the price is down. In the ICO it was promised that investors will receive a share of the profits that MonaCo makes, but this was removed a few days ago with no replacement. Now investors are upset (for good reasons) and jumping ship.
4085  Other / Off-topic / Re: Steem Vs Reddit on: November 07, 2017, 11:15:21 PM
No contest for sure Reddit, more systematic and the ask me anythings with celebrities are hilarious.
I love AMAs, don't give a shit about celebrities though. Most of them are brainless and soulless apes, very few exceptions.
4086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another ETH hard fork??? on: November 07, 2017, 11:14:08 PM
THis is why the flippening is happening, becasue when you pray to Vitalik, your prayers are answered with a fresh fork, but Satoshi has forsaken us by developing nothing for us for years.  Vitalik still works to help us even though he is rich like Satoshi who never lifts even a finger for the ones he loves.

Flippening by 2019 guaranteed.

If a scam = coin project abandoned by dev who is now rich

then BTC = scam

ETH = community project where dev is member of said community

scam dev leaves you holding his bag right?

after he disappears
You don't know what you are talking about. Bitcoin was specifically created with the vision of no control.

Ethereum goes directly against that vision and is nothing more than a modern version of a central bank. There will be no "flippening" for as long as there are people who understand why Bitcoin was created and who value true freedom over control.

Use an encrypted VPN and then do an online call.

If you want to be extra paranoid go with TOR and PGP text messages.

Sweet!

As far as I know whatsapp voice calls are end to end encrypted. So that should be private and cheap.

Thanks, I thought Whatsapp is a good solution.
Yes, it's a bot/spammer. Just report them when you see any and move on, so we can get a cleaner forum.
4088  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin rise to $500k in three years? on: November 07, 2017, 11:09:11 PM
A lot could happen in three years and looking back at how much the user base has grown over the years, probably $100k sounds more realistic than $500k which is 50 times more than the current value. If demand keeps growing who knows we might just hit the jackpot.
3 years? Bitcoin is running up so fast we all know that but hitting $500K in split period, no it is impossible to happen. We all know that raising up into $8000 dollars is hard to bitcoin now, then we predict over the capacity of crypto no way.
As I see bitcoin value were play into $10,000 only on 2020, because if the bitcoin value were fall up to $500K maybe there's no signature campaign will open and some other work was not running well.
Signature campaigns would simply play less Bitcoins to make up for the rise in price...

And $10k by 2020 seems extremely low and ignores the acceleration at which Bitcoin is adopted by the mainstream.
4089  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin rise to $500k in three years? on: November 07, 2017, 09:17:40 PM
Bitcoin will not reach 500k dollars even you wait hundreds years or forever. Because for me the possible price of bitcoin is 50k dollars and I think the percent that happen 50k is 20 percent what if 500kbdollars . I don't know why other people believe that or believe bitcoin price will reach that . Even that price is unrealistic to happen in real life. But I hope yhe price will continue to increase.
500k isn't that big of a price if you consider all the facts. You seem incapable of assessing what is realistic and what is not.

May I ask why you think 500k is too high? Do you have any logical reasoning behind your estimate?
4090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: November 07, 2017, 09:16:09 PM
On MCO forum you can find the biggest number of believers... Really impressive... Hope it ends well for you guys but I am happy for leaving this ship...
It is a very beautiful card after all, and it would make traveling quite a bit easier.

But with the controversary around the asset contract I've lost a lot of confidence in what was originally a "hodl forever token" for me.
4091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another parity fail !! ? on: November 07, 2017, 09:14:06 PM
Would a hard fork for fixing this problem "reset" transactions to before this mess happened? Or how would that play out exactly exactly?

Seems like a fork is the only way out, unless the Parity devs can perform a miracle

Wouldn't a fork reset all transactions for everyone though? Even those who didn't have any funds on Parity?

Don't know honestly but likely yes.. they use the same chain, I see a lot of people speculating on it.. Parity sure made a name for itself now.

https://etherscan.io/address/0xae7168deb525862f4fee37d987a971b385b96952

This is devops199 (the perpetrator) transaction history, if you go to the internal history TX's then you can see the commands he was executing.
If it actually has any impact on other users then a fork obviously shouldn't be used to save those who didn't keep track of their own funds. That's just asking for trouble...

And what did that guy even get from running those commands? Why would he do it? Doesn't seem like he got any tokens or Ether out of it.
4092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what to do in case of scam? on: November 07, 2017, 08:48:56 PM
A lot of people bought ELEKTRA Coin after 6 days from the end of the ICO they runn with money.
All communication channel are close.
Please tell me what to do?
Is there any possibility to be refunded or send the guy in jail?

please advise.

What to do?

Pay more attention to what you are investing in, don't invest more than you are willing to lose. And whenever you find a scam check what they did so you will be able to spot scams easier in the future. It's not that difficult as long as you think rationally instead of being greedy.

There is no free or easy money in this world, so if you're not willing to spend hours or even days researching a project to make sure that it is genuine and offers real value you will without a doubt keep losing money until you lose everything.

So the best thing to do is to start paying attention now instead of losing everything and then starting to think about how you could've stayed safe.
4093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: November 07, 2017, 08:42:37 PM
Once you start screwing with others to make profits at their expense you would be greedy.

If you just like taking high risks for high profits that's perfectly legitimate though, as long as it doesn't involve screwing other people over.
4094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are We Dead Without China? on: November 07, 2017, 08:36:32 PM
As recent events have shown, bitcoin easily managed without China and grew in price even much more than it was supported by China. Recently, the crypto currency has not reacted at all to the events in China related to the prohibitions on crypto currency. This once again proves that bitcoin and other crypto currency has even greater reserves and are able to grow and develop without the support of individual countries because this phenomenon is supranational.
Very true. The world is big so it doesn't matter if China wants to play or not. But even if the government starts fiddling around, the Chinese people don't necessarily care about it and will still keep investing for as long as profits can be made.
4095  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why People Are Not Honest. on: November 07, 2017, 08:34:33 PM
people are afraid of being real...being real is a feat nowadays...it's too important for us what people will think about us and it's terrible, really....because we are all unique and it would be wonderful, that everyone had the courage to express their true thoughts and emotions
Spot on. It's why I'm very selective with whom I choose to interact with for any prolonged periods of time. Most people just parrot what they've heard elsewhere, completely bland and devoid of genuineness.

4097  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I quit trading on: November 07, 2017, 08:30:31 PM
So guys, after 2 years of trading i am going to stop. (unless i have full time to trade, which i currently don't)

I have calculated all my trades on the various platforms i have used in the last couple years.

Deposited: 47BTC (roughly)

Withdrew: 40BTC (roughly)

Overall i am happy with the results, i would pay 7 BTC anyday for what i have learned so far.

Now the question is: what the fuck do i do now with my money.

Hi, I think you don't use any technology or algorithm for trading, just play cryptocurrency by your personal feeling. The better way to trade is to design algorithm to capture those opportunities in markets, and most of operation are done by computer, otherwise, you trade history wouldn't be only 47BTC
Most people are incapable of creating a successful trading algorithm that can outplay the market, which is why they're not common.

4099  Economy / Speculation / Re: Invest Pre-Fork or Afteer ?? on: November 07, 2017, 08:24:38 PM
So after all that reading i did i couldnt came to a conlusion regarding to what is better... invest my 5k before the Fork to get that extra x2 coins or just invest after Fork while btc gets its correction???
Thanks

My advice will be based on my latest fork experiences. If you want to get more profit better buy altcoins while prices are dead and hold for next year. There are many speculations around bitcoin. If you wanna to buy cheap bitcoin better to wait for news after fork.
I think you're the first person I've seen on this forum who suggests this (and I agree fully). Bitcoin too risky with too little upside right now for my taste.
4100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another ETH hard fork??? on: November 07, 2017, 08:22:14 PM
Around 930k $ETH (~$280M) are locked because of the Parity bug. The new Parity multisig wallet has a bug that let someone accidentally nuke every single wallet to become not withdrawable. A hard fork might be required to fix the bug.
This sounds terrible. I have seen even bigger numbers such as half a million of eth frozen on the client. How did this happen? There's no info on parity.io yet, but maybe it's not eth's fault after all? What if it's a problem with this wallets or even parity owners?
I can see this info on the cause of this issue: "it was possible to turn the Parity Wallet library contract into a regular multi-sig wallet and become an owner of it by calling the initWallet function". Moreover, it seems to have happened accidentally. Yet I do see that it is most likely that to unfreeze the assets eth needs to overcome another fork. Of course, there's always option to let that eth burn. We'll what what will be decided and by whom. I'm glad I sold my eth before all these hacks and bugs.

There wouldn't be any consequence for other users.

It would shatter the last traces of the ETH decentralization myth and possibly cause more damage to the market cap than these 300m$, which is what the king is considering right now, probably.
How can they selectively fix coins without having an imapct on others though? Couldn't they just screw with the blockchain for their own gain in the future with the same methods?
