4081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs. Conor McGregor on: September 26, 2020, 01:50:51 PM
Wow, I can't imagine how McGregor decided to fight Manny. I know and I believe that he has the ability when it comes to close fight, MMA, but not for boxing. He's out fighting against Mayweather before and probably the same result to come out once they finally on the game. But I'm not sure if Manny will take this (opportunity) time as He already been facing huge responsibility as the COVID-19 cases in the Philippines isn't over yet.

I put my bet to Manny, McGregor is young enough, less experience in boxing. He's nothing TBH.

4084  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Buy and Hold Really the Best Strategy in Crypto? on: September 25, 2020, 11:06:19 PM
TBH, this is a basic strategy that most are doing-especially for beginners and even well-experienced traders. People who come in crypto for investment alone and not able to trade, this is the best thing to do. In fact, I did this as well and it really works but of course, it is a need also to check the market flows because not all the time we just keep holding. Seeing a 2-3% price incline, I sell my crypto right away...it was enough for me but not sure of you.
4085  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members on: September 25, 2020, 12:35:17 PM
Maybe I'm so glad to have this interview @zazad. Though it takes time for me but it was my pleasure to answer this.

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
I’ve been in the forum since last 2016 but it was not a great year for me nor I have an interest in this. I’m still a newbie during that time, totally empty, no knowledge about crypto at all. But I was trying to fill my emptiness and start searching such a thing early 2017 especially when hearing more about Bitcoin, about cryptocurrency, and the growing market adoption. It was then the year that I was focusing on crypto after losing my job. Thas is very interesting to see and hear people talking about crypto, I was a part of this, and might make myself proud of it.

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
I can’t remember buying Bitcoin. All I have is coming from the signature campaign, some from Bounty rewards traded to Bitcoin and partly, coming from airdrops (2017).

3. How did you get on the forum?
Someone told me about this online, he gives me the link and read it.  At first, I don’t want to believe him nor to trust people online especially when talking about investment, easy money, quick returns. No, it was crazy to believe, but I was wrong and to find out that this forum (from where I belong now) is not only talking about money, a forum that will enlighten us our understanding toward crypto and knows its role in the community.

4.1. What prevents the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
*Doubts
*High risk
*Internet connection
*Government supports

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
*Positive results- it helps to massive cryptocurrency adoption. Gamblers will be prepared using Bitcoin as they can easily make an easy transfer without getting notified by anyone. They keep themselves anonymously.
*Negative Results- addiction. The only thing that we are afraid of once we are out of control into ourselves.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
I know that not all have guts when talking about investing crypto, but I believe 1-year experience is good enough to evaluate ourselves if we are ready to take the risk.  But of course, it won’t certainly work that easily that is why it needs more experience, actually trading, knowing more about crypto. These things will help it to work perfectly.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
Merit system makes every poster enhance their posting habit just to get some and make the forum itself very informative than before.  This also how CM manage to choose participants for signature campaigns (gonna be a sort of competition). However, the Merit system could somewhat be abused by anyone just to rank-up but soon it runs out and gets nothing if they will never change.

Hard work, effort and spend more time creating a useful topic are the ticket for us to have some.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
There’s a lot but I only have to pick a few as I believe that others have already picked them too.
Beginners & Help is a very helpful place to visit especially for newcomers as what I did before.
LoyceV's Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust
Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ  mprep

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
I have only one…
*New project regulations. This helps to minimize scam/fake projects.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
I’d never invested in any project. I do trading quite sometimes in Bittrex before but I then stop after joining Binance.  Actually, I’m just an average trader, I have an office job so I can only make trades when I have free time.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
Trading is not really a place for me. I’d often lose than having gains but I was enjoying while learning some strategies that might help me in the future once I have enough time in this field.

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
I’m not saying that this Defi system has a negative result but I was then given a warning for newcomers to be more careful in choosing a project. I know that not all of them are fake projects but for sure not all of them will sustain the market competition and keep on the momentum as they have now.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
I considered this as a vital thing. Crypto investment had money involved, it is much important to keep our identity hidden to other people especially for scammers.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
To be honest, I’d never read one. Only  I’ve got information from YouTube, Online search, it was an easy pick and lots of entertainment than reading books.

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
Bitcoin, Ethereum, and EOS. I believe that we know them already, they are considered as promising coins this time and much more promising in the future.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?
This year is not really a good year for Bitcoin. The market never looks so promising but I was then positive and hopeful to see it at $15k.

15. P.S. (Optional)

4087  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who sets the bitcoin price? on: September 24, 2020, 11:30:26 PM
They say no one control the price of Bitcoin but apparently it is not true because whales could make total changes upon the price.
No, the whales cant control the price but they can only play with it for their own benefit. Nobody can control the price of bitcoin and it is clearly determined by the activity of the trader. Because bitcoin is a very volatile asset, anyone who has a lot of capital can look for loopholes to get multiple profit. Nobody want to lose, and often the activity of the whales can negatively impact the price of bitcoin but only temporarily before they react again.
Ain't to argue that. Whales are smart, they play their money, manipulate the market, it all becomes those small investors are just a puppet to them. We said that no one sets the price but whales somewhat did that. Although not all the time but seeing how they were able to change the price trend up and down using their money, they are actually making it several times. We knew it and we feel it. That is why we mostly claim that whales are doing this.
4088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Less Volatile Coins on: September 24, 2020, 10:24:27 PM
I am a newbie on this forum and I have read my posts that people complaining how they lost their fund as a result of investing on Volatile coin like BTC. Is it now advisable for newbie like me to invest on less Volatile coin like Tether or Gemini USD.
If you would like to make more profit better to choose the Bitcoin than having these stable coins. Have you thought that these stable coins will increase their market value? No, it won't and you can be expecting that it gives you more profit. Bitcoin prices will rise anytime, unlike what stable coins can do.

I know that nothing pushes you because that is your choice but I would like also to highlight that better understand the sentiment that these stable coins have their returns. That is why many investors are focusing on Bitcoin because they see and know that this is a profitable asset than any others.
4089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH2.0 New Update Today on: September 22, 2020, 11:34:28 PM
I think it been a year that we've waited for its launched date announcement after several times of postponement and I can't wait to finally see the ETH2.0 development. But I don't want to make a try either instead of waiting for other's feedback...lol
I hope this will went smoothly and fewer bugs to appear. Kinda something it is normal but I know the team/developers had prepared for such thing. And then let's see how this will affect the growing Defi projects, sounds very interesting.
4090  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Virtual trading before actual one - pros and cons on: September 22, 2020, 10:52:34 PM
Actually, you can't feel the loss if you are just in the trial mode, it very unlikely when you are using real money that anytime will be lost at your hands. The market is so tricky, volatility keeps so wild, and that it brought risk in trading especially when you are just a newbie. But that is how we adopt the market changes, we need to adjust and find a way that it could help us to make our trades and trading experience better and profitable. Yeah, it cost a lot at first but later on, we finally get the strategies that we applied to have a better result.
4091  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we at the first sell off point now?. on: September 22, 2020, 10:34:21 PM
I don't want to look into the chart because it only disappoints me and even thinks about selling (worries may come out) and exactly what I do now is to keep holding. I'd come in here for a reason and aiming for another ATH yet it somehow hard to reach this time but I was then to wait. No, market volatility will actually save me for this and there is a reason to believe that after their short dumps, pumps will be followed. I don't want to reckon the 2017 Bullish and bearish event, I assume that this year is quite different... Wink
4092  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Outrageous trading fees, should I switch to stocks? on: September 22, 2020, 10:12:05 PM
Now, I believe that you know already and finds your comfort zone. Cryptocurrency isn't your's destiny ( that was very unfortunate) but an opportunity to try. It somehow you had a bad experience that changes your mind and thinks about the stock market, well, we have the options also and even me, I choose the investment that will give me a favor that is why I choose Bitcoin rather than on the stock market.
4093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bloody market on: September 22, 2020, 09:48:00 PM
When we ascribe every dump in the market to some other altcoins action or dump it gets so distracting. Sushi exit scam was the first claim this September and very disappointed to read of UNI airdrop as another dump. September had always been a time for correction or pull back in previous years and the dump is also ascribe to something even when we had fewer altcoins. Maybe we should look for how to maximize the time.
And the best thing to do now is to keep calm, think positive as the market surely get back to an uptrend motion anytime soon. Because all these negativity and the declining sentiment are only a weak action that we need to make a deal, we are in this situation several times but look, in every drops there are correspond pumps next. What we should have to do now is to wait and let the market recovers.
4094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The bounty scam will gradually go away on: September 22, 2020, 01:09:34 PM
The current twitter campaign that you've talked about is seemingly fine, it went smooth and orderly. Some applied but just bee rejected due to fake/non-crypto followers. The company itself paid only those related to crypto followers and they have the right as well to decline the applications.

Social media is the fastest way to spread the news, it is just a little bit disappointing to see that some did scam others using fake account hidden by known personalities. But this is not the case that pushes the company to eliminate social media campaigns because it was not all the cases that will happen.
4095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright To Face Trial on: September 22, 2020, 12:41:04 PM
Well, he'd nothing to do with his life but just proclaim himself as Satoshi. He might just own the numbers (1.1mBTC) but not the keys that will prove him as the owner of this certain amount. He got this trial and he got acquitted but somehow nobody would like to believe him either. He's already out from having a good reputation and I don't think he needs either our sympathy.
4096  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲Betfury.io|⚡️Free BTC|⚡️$3mln Divs paid|⚡️$200K Jackpots|⚡️$1mln Cashback on: September 21, 2020, 10:26:14 PM
It finds to be interesting but gamblers wouldn't make such consideration alone instead of seeing how reliable they are and true to their promises.
We can't leave in the doubt that this site is shady base on their previous thread and that is a question right now that it needs and a must for them to answer it otherwise people around will completely ignore this.

$1million cashback? That will something it says that it less possible that they give the truthfulness of their word. And people will keep asking and doubts can't be eliminated in their mind unless everything will be cleared.
4097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Police Raids and kids involving spider betting. on: September 21, 2020, 09:52:44 PM
I think this is the matter of social gathering rather than the spider betting itself.
Physical distancing might be a factor but most probably spider betting is not allowed and it is illegal as mandated by the environmental law.

Unless gambling is banned in your place, I don't think spider betting is that bad. As a kid, we've been doing that for years and we don't have a problem with that to the authorities. The barangay captain of our place even joins with our fun by cheering with us. It is just we are hard-headed and loves letting these spiders fight, that is just it.
That is certainly a big problem and even the barangay leaders are playing and betting as well. They have supposed the one that should give a warned to them before it goes to the police but it was unlikely to happen.

This is a lesson to learn for the rest of the spider collectors and bettors. This will cause no good for them and better should stop it before someone gets into jail or better wait that it becomes legal.

4099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherum Fees Double In a Week As DeFi Heats Up on: September 21, 2020, 02:46:07 PM
A lot of people keep complaining about the high fees but still, they're making transactions. If they can wait for a few hours to confirm their transaction, I shouldn't think we need to set it into the highest gas fee. But unfortunately, some want instant and it drives then to make huge fees just to fulfill. It helps anyway, but if this will continue, I can't imagine how fees go far.

Maybe I should have to keep my coins and hold for awhile waiting for the moment that hotness calms down.
4100  Economy / Speculation / Re: If market crashes, BTC will crash twice as hard. on: September 20, 2020, 11:17:16 PM
If that so, then let SPY dried off and see what it happens to BTC price. Could be that important and sees if that is correlated to it because almost no one we'd like to believe it. Reason why? Bitcoin has free market flows, in fact, the stock market drops hard, the global economic decreases but we are about to make a good position away from it and making a good market rally. That is why I'd never thought that is likely to happen, it is negative as per see.
