4081  Economy / Speculation / Re: im out. on: October 04, 2014, 05:55:47 PM
I was doing groceries at a local supermarket, saturday afternoon = rush hour, long lines at the cashiers. got bored and checked the charts. sub 330 prices flashing, and it hit me like a hammer that i had a $XX k buy order sitting at the upper 320ies. (i went out @ about 400 and had set the buy back order so deep that i was sure, we would never hit it.)

So there i was standing at this fkn supermarket queue, shitting in my pants, scrambling out my pad, freaking out trying to find the bitstamp password, holding my mobile for 2factor, completely unable to handle, collect, pay for the groceries, giving all the others a nice show, getting everyone upset, shouting

" I FUCKIN NEED TO CANCEL MY ORDERS !!11!!

well... found out i was late...

instaed of the cancelled btc1k party we could have a "i-went-broke-with-bitcoin" party...
4083  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 03, 2014, 09:53:31 PM
Where is the BTC.1k party going to be?

I've just been doing some calculations:

@JJG joined less than eight months ago since when he has made nearly 3500 posts - on average nearly 15 posts a day!!

And since he doesn't seem to post anywhere except here, that means over a third of this thread comprises of his posts, as he wall-witters to himself.

Seek help man.

we all need to go somewhere and communicate, especially when starting to accumulate at an ath  - so this subforum is the shoulder we can cry on. Imo legitimate use, investing in btc without this forum is only half the fun...

well done, Jamie D.

But no... don't even so much as breathe the word 'manipulation' on these sub, lest you get completely ridiculed and called a tinfoil hat wearer.  Even though the whales' intentions are so obvious an 8-year old could figure it out with the data.
I'm of the opinion that a large buyer is purchasing off exchange blocks and dumping on exchanges to build a massive and cheap stash. Nothing else makes much sense. Sure people panic but many of the sales come when you would least expect someone to panic

1. buy off exchange
2. wait for price to go up a little
3. dump 20% of 1. on exchange
4. buy off exchange for new low
5. repeat

this way a multi million purchase could easily pull through with 30% discount or more. now that is just one large purchase. i bet there are more than just one. squeezing it a little moah... just a liiiiittle moah...

btc is a victim of its own success (lol) and price is killed not by enemies but by supporters with deep pockets...

october 2014: sub 400

Couldn't hodl.

my cold storage stash keeps hounting me. this is alarming, it never did before. must be bottom then...?

I found out that I manage to keep that feeling in check by keeping the size of my cold storage close to, but below the size of my active stash.

interesting tip, thx.  considering it.

4092  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why do you people sell at these price? on: September 29, 2014, 11:50:52 AM
I've got just over 10 BTC.

I'll be honest, I bought most of my coins at around 600 USD, I'm not happy right now, every day the price seems to go down lately.

I don't have any desperate need for the money now, I know it's a long game & I will hoard for years but it's looking pretty shit right now.

in 2011 i bought 100 coins for $ 3000 right at the top of the most epic bubble ever. prices fell for 18 months. even now, at a very desperate phase, when people say btc is dead, i still made more than 1000% profit. stay strong. it will pay out.

well - that is it for me. i officially turn into a midterm bear for the first time ever. just sold 8.5 % of my stash and will sell another 10% if it goes lower.

i lost faith that we will see an end of the downtrend in the next month or two.

Ich seh das aber sonst nirgends. Könnte gut ein fake sein.

sollte nicht das "announced" blau sein (anstatt dem "twitter") und auf das announcement verlinken?
