4101  Other / Off-topic / Re: Merit for quality -newbies and junior member- on: August 22, 2020, 04:45:34 PM
Guys, we are becoming lazy day by day. Just spend your merits to the quality posts. Doesn't necessary to create merit giveaway thread with a small number of smerits where you have enough time to spend it. Don't me get wrong but I strongly discourage opening merit giveaway thread anymore. Once a time lots of reputed users opened merit giveaway thread including me, but it was beginning to introduce merit system. But now, all users know about it, so it's quite unnecessary. When you will read other user's posts you will get the quality post for sure.

If someone need rank up or think you deserve merits then please submit your post on this thread where multiple merit source watching: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5093271.0

We've all been there, but these guys are just gonna scroll right past your post there Grin

Unless the OP decides to accept it.
4102  Other / Meta / Re: A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. on: August 22, 2020, 04:42:52 PM
I'm just parking this post here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5269659.0
As you can see it was a direct reply to a series of previous comments between myself and the other person (none of which have been deleted).

You can also notice my post is on topic as it is also an attempt by myself to deescalate hostility by the other person towards myself, yet a moderator felt such action shouldn't occur.  In effect the moderator or admin is trying to en-flame the situation by making it appear I have not responded one way or the other.

Is this the kind of moderator we want in the Forum?

I hate to sound like that guy, but I don't think whoever that deleted such posts (excluding those plagiarized ones) would show up to clarify things. Surely he or she would not find any basis to counter whatever you throw at him or her. So, just delete and hope you'd just forget about it and move along.

Not too long ago on my end.

If you go to official websites to get official links to apps on app store or Google play, you will not be trapped by fake apps like what the topic you quoted warn. You should never pay your funds on the carefulness or responsibility of Google or Apple to check and 100% prevent fake apps to be listed on their stores. They should do because it is good for their app ecosystem, and their reputation but you in your own side has to be responsible for your fund's safety and security.

That's not always the case. Legit sites can also be compromised to host the malicious files. For apps, any update injected could also be malicious, and not just the client from the Play Store.

Yes, since freebitco is using a different system for determining the odds, you can take the advantage of different odds. But you should keep in mind that odds shown on freebitco can change even after you make the bet. So, you cannot decide base on the odds you see at the time of betting.

I wonder if they would plan on moving from pari mutuel to fixed one day.

One of the casinos I used to play on made it several months back.
4106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin so unstable? on: August 22, 2020, 03:50:15 PM

does it means all btc must be mined for that stability to happen ? why this doesnt  apply to gold ? when gold is supply is unknown or it can be much more than to bitcoin but gold now is stable .

gold is much accepted so that must be the reason while btc , hmm not really ? but btc is divideable and there is no need to wait for all that btc to be mined just to spread the btc and its use.

My guess is that it still remains as a highly speculative product since it's still not widely adopted like gold. In my country, I have yet to see a merchant that accepts Bitcoin.

But who knows once the supply starts dwindling (and hopefully it would see more usage by then), things might settle down because those lost Bitcoins could never be recovered and people start taking it more seriously.

Sorry, I only publish it when requested by the user.

That's fine. Can I have mine published? Just to check.
4108  Other / Meta / Re: Free Advertising, YES or NO on: August 22, 2020, 10:03:45 AM
IMHO, I would not wear the signature unless I'm accepted, because I have to earn a spot.

Wouldn't be fair if I'm advertising for a service I wouldn't even be using without some sort of compensation given this is a populous Bitcoin forum.

Isn't that dependent on the number of bettors? If team A has 1,000 bets, it's odds should be much lower than of team B if it has like 300.
Odds for a certain outcome is a function of ratio of total amount of money put on the outcome to total amount of money put on all outcomes.
If 1,000 people each put 1 mBTC on team A and 300 people each put 5 mBTC on team B, the odds of team A would be 1.5 times bigger that odds of team B.

Okay, that explains it well. Thanks!

You mean like CTRL-F?

I mean a search bar which. So if I were to input a username, the result would show its Merit count in the last 120 days.
4111  Other / Meta / Re: Merit count on: August 21, 2020, 03:44:59 PM

A search function (for the username) would be nice, though Grin
4112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin so unstable? on: August 21, 2020, 03:29:24 PM
On comparing the Bitcoin with gold, it is crystal clear that gold is being used from ancient times also in the form of currency, whereas bitcoin was being invented around 2008. Every type of commodity needs time to stabilize its value in market. We can not surely say that bitcoin will never stabilize, it will take much time to settle and make itself exist in the market. To conclude, I would like to say that bitcoin will also become stable one day but only thing it require is time nothing else, so we should give it sufficient time and also to people who invest in it to recognize this currency.

That would take years, since the supply of the 21 million hasn't been fully reached yet.
4113  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: August 21, 2020, 03:23:56 PM
Odds depend on total amount of money put on different outcomes.
Let's say there's a basketball game between teams A and B. Till now, 10 BTC has been put on team A and 10 BTC has been put on team B.
Regardless of the time weight multiplier and assuming the house edge is 5%, the odds for each of teams would be 1.9.
If you bet 2 BTC on team A, the amount put on team A would increase to 12 BTC. This causes the odds for team A to increase to 1.74 and odds for team B to decrease to 2.09.

Isn't that dependent on the number of bettors? If team A has 1,000 bets, it's odds should be much lower than of team B if it has like 300.
4114  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I need 5 sources of revenue to generate $200 each per month - Ideas? on: August 20, 2020, 03:34:00 PM
It all depends on your location.
If you live in bangladesh, 200USD/month is serious money.
You cannot make that easy.
If you live in europe, its a long day of work, but you also spend it easily.
If you do it online, and you have no expenses on living, you can even click faucets or do any lowpaid internet job.
If you live with high expenses, all this low level things dont make sense.
There you have to invest serious money and get 200 for free, or you just work.

Best investment currently is DEFI. You can easily make 200USD/month by investing 10000USD. That is extreme high interest rate.
Well you also have to learn where to invest ond where not and when.
That comes quite close to a "passive income".

Now, even only holdling might return high profits, as almost all Fiat are in trouble.
Very good now is also buy goods like gold, cars or real estate, where people have to sell because of corona-economies crashing.
The times will change, so you can sell with profit.

Actually if you want to earn money, its always only a question of your personal settings, your character.
Its not a question of the location.
If you are determined, willing to learn, hard working, reliable, you will have success for sure.
But the concept of "passive income" is not what i call "hard working".
I dont really believe in it.

Sucks that third-world countries tend to get way less earning opportunities. In the US, you could earn just by installing an app and leaving it running in the background.

You guys heard of the Monte Carlo fallacy? Back in 1913 when gamblers tried betting against black 26 times in a row, losing millions of Francs Grin

Same here, so there's nothing wrong if there are losing streaks.

Does anybody really ever believe this statement from a blackmailer - even if, by chance, he has a certain video?!
As a main rule: you fall once for a blackmail, you are good for getting milked for your entire life.

Scammer: I have recorded a webcam video of you fapping to your favorite porn
User: Jokes on you, I'm using a PC.
Scammer: *runs*

Does anyone has problem with the 2FA?
I have re-added it to my Google Auth just in case, but it keeps saying Incorrect 2FA Code, when it's correctly... I had this problem for 2 years now, and no one ever replied me in the Coinpot Support, it sucks 100%

Usually incorrect 2FA is due to the incorrect time sync between your devices.
