We can all keep track of the 7,000,000 coins and I guess that Lolcust knows his coin is history if he rips us off.
I give him and his coin a chance. It's experimental and he did something with advice from ArtForz and other people. So he is not another "CH", in my opinion.
Do we all agree to give GeistGeld a chance, at least?

Ok I think I have everything running now. I'm getting a lot of stales, but I'm not sure if it's the chain itself or my GPU which has been acting strange lately. So has GG patched the possible 51% exploit along with the timewarp exploits that Art talked about?
High stales are normal at low difficulty. I think it has something to do with the time between finding new blocks, also. If you submit a share (or is it a nonce?) for a block that already was found by someone else, yours is too late and probably becomes a stale. I had a lot of stales when mining i0coin and solidcoin with high networkpower and low difficulty too.

I'm out, sorry but no blocks appear on the balance someone is betting on a majority of hashing power while refusing others to connect it seems. Or whatever it is, good luck with it.
I got 500 on my balance in 90 minutes, I guess it's working like it should.

Either my copypaste skills have deteriorated due to all the copypasting of code, or your address isn't right (CosicMiner's address got accepted oky so it is unlikely to be a Geist issue) I guess that's more likely

Geist Geld is the new black!
It's more solid than solidcoin, because it has:
1) Even f4ster blocks! No blocks are faster then our fast blocks! Actually true - blocks are faster in GG
2) Even more secure, VITAL SECURITY HOLES PLUMBED AND PLUGGED !1! (actually, that is a fact, since GG is the first chain to fix a hole that allows a sufficiently massive attacker to "send blocks into the past" thus screwing with retargeting algorithms, though I can't claim credit for the discovery or the fix - all the credit goes to Art )
3) Both pool-friendly and pool-safe, which is at least twice more best than merely pool-safe (has no questionable asymetric retargets, but, thanks to very fast blocks, quickly recovers from even major swings in difficulty due to big boys arriving and leaving)
4) Allows for escrow transactions out-of-the-box! (It really does)
5) Has NTP that is at least bilionteen times better than that seen in i0coin ! (Fact)

Haha, this actually made me laugh More importantly, every statement can be demonstrated to be generally true why would I want anything to do with your coin when you let hackers hack your shit and download blocks to theri hearts content and an artificially low difficulty? and you also claim to not know shit about developing and were begging for developers. I'm not trying to attack you, I want answers? Why would I want to touch geist geld? You dont even have an exchange and people who are antithesis to the entire bitcoin idea, namely hackers, hold the most coins. If you want people to take you seriously, you will have to relaunch, cause very little people will take you seriously after visiting the geist geld thread. No i havent read the whole thing but I got far enough to know I dont trust your coin right now. He did relaunch.

yeah I'm all for freedom of speech and all.. but it is normally reserved for the commons. If anyone really wants BTC to be taken seriously or any of the coins, there really needs to be some house cleaning here.
And yes I do think these people can be prosecuted, all you have to do is prove $5000 worth of damages which isnt that hard. I'm just surprised yall let the childish idiots post here. You know if I was thinking of investing in bitcoin or opening my store up to bitcoin, there is where I would come to learn about bitcoin and if that is a good idea and the way yall let the trolls and hackers attack the place with impunity, wont give anyone a good feeling in their stomach.
I do have a question. WHY DO WE HAVE THE NEWBIE AREA IF WE LET EVERYONE ACT LIKE CHILDREN WHEN THEY GET INTO THE MAIN FORUMS? Spam? REALLY? This place is starting to look like a huge joke.
And No I dont deny that a post or two of mine probably should have been deleted but seriously there are people who should have been banned from this forum long ago. If you want total free speech, make a free speech subreddit, make sure their posts dont show up on anyones "Show unread posts since last visit." and clean the hell out of the rest of the area.
Yes we do need a security subforum, and yes we do need to find out about flaws in the network, but the way these people are exposing flaws is criminal and if yall dont do anything about them at all, BTC is doomed to irrelevance for ever.
Exactly how I feel about it. This forum is doing more damage than good to Bitcoin at the moment. A lot of FUD, scandals, threats, hacks and other shit going on. And almost nothing is done about it... One person, like BitcoinEXpress can close exchanges and drop value of 2 chains, just by posting some FUD here. And we allow it... If we want Bitcoin (or any other chain) to survive, we must take drastic measures, or fail... The problem Magnet, is that it isn't FUD, I have proven it to the people that matter even Coinhunter. It's FUD... You are not capable of doing anything... You don't even have 30Ghash.

@Joulesbeef Newsflash for you. This isn't the main forum for Bitcoin, infact it is everything BUT Bitcoin, maybe that's why they call it "Alternate Cryptocurrencies" ? The main BTC forums are very civil. My suggestion is that if you can't handle it, stay out of Alt-Coin section. Second newsflash for youThis forum, Bitcointalk IS NOT the official forum. Isn't it nice to work with factual details now? You just proofed my point.

I'm surprised users like the one who's threatening and damaging the Bitcoin community like this, gets room to speak on this forum.

Getting an IRC recv failed:10060 error, doesn't work. Still getting this error. Downloaded the GeistGeld_new, changed user/pass for miner and can't connect to IRC channel (it seems?). Try turning on DNS in the config. Meanwhile, you can do addnode=<IP>:7769 with the following IPs if else fails: 173.238.168.52 205.185.188.37 90.176.64.166 I'm testing it once again "out of the box" on a vm through TOR right now EDIT: basically, the IRC server ain't not talking to you it seems. That's odd. Try turning on DNS and add a bunch of IPs above (with port, just to be sure) Adding the nodes seemed to fix it, now downloading the blocks

The old one worked without problems but this is the exact error message with the new client: I deleted al the old stuff, just unzipped it and nothing else.

can your pool handle the load ?
Shouldn't it be safer to mine nmc Solo ?
It will hold! I have been working on it for a long tim also I have upgraded the SQL server to Large and if I have to I will upgrade the rest. I wanted to see if I could do this with Micro servers that's why my pool was struggling and I wanted to make major changes so a small pool was good enough until I was happy with it. But I have no choice now. Pointed my 3Ghash/s to your pool!

This is great news: It's ready!
I pay just under 20% more than what deepbit will pay help save Namecoins!
Just click PPS check box beside your worker and BOOM you are getting paid btc I keep the NMC however you can get proportional namecoins if you like.
Your shares are updated once a NMC block is found so the more blocks we find the faster you BTC end up in your wallet.
Merged mining, here I come

I'll help Great! I already have 3Ghash/s on Coinotron (that's 75% of total power over there ) Did you quit? I'm mining NMC, but there's only .7 Ghash/s on coinotron.... Time to save NMC peeps! Solo mining now, Coinotron went down 2 times for me in 12 hours.

I see that this effort is to test Bitcoin network on a name coin scale. This is very good to check the integrity of bit-coin I will in fact turn off my namecoin miners until after you commit this attack.
Feel free to do that Enough miners to take your place. LOL now im confused... okay so I guess I'll mine namecoins then if it helps you test your attack? My attack? Did you read?
