4122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Rebuilding blockchain on: December 13, 2015, 06:55:23 PM
Well I let it rebuld it again, but is there something i should be more careful next time? Like, uninstall first, them install...?

No, closing bitcoin core, installing over the existing version and reopening always worked for me.
4123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Rebuilding blockchain on: December 13, 2015, 05:18:51 PM
Happened to me couple of time that wallet-qt had to rebuild whole blockchain. From unknown reason or if I upgraded client to newer version. This process really takes a long time, but why is this happening?

It should not resync after an update. Can you look in the debug.log if there is anything that might help?
4124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wallet.dat I haven't used since 2011 and I can't get it to open. need help, plea on: December 13, 2015, 05:14:18 PM
Can you give us the debug log? Go to %APPDATA%/Bitcoin and find the debug.log file. Post the contents of that file here. If it is too big, post the last 100-200 lines.

So far I have failed at being able to locate this. I'm on windows 10, fyi.

Not sure this still works in win10, but try to press Win + R. This should open "run". There you enter:

Code:
%APPDATA%\Bitcoin\debug.log

It should either open the log directly or ask for a programm. Use something like notepad.
4125  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: static receiving address and public key of receiving address on: December 13, 2015, 05:12:14 PM
OK, but it doesn't matter which receiving address i use for the obtaining a public key, right ?

Yes, as long as you pick the same in the future if you want to have the same public key. Mabye label the address you use accordingly to make it easier to remember.

Since all receiving addresses stay permanently in the electrum wallet if i'm correct ?

Correct.

I agreed to wear their signature for a months and I will honor my agreement.

It was the day of the payout, the month was over. I dont know the exact time.

News?

12 18 hours, payment received, thanks.
do you remember now?

I know the post, whats your point?

That this[1] is the first post that should not taken into consideration by EcuaMobi and that it must be evident that dicebitco.in was a scam before it?

4128  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Suggestion: Button that check/uncheck "send this transaction anonymously" on: December 13, 2015, 04:52:17 PM
How is cash anonymous?

In every store there is over 90000 cameras they can trace you by face, body if they need to.

Stop smearing your name one the bills while shopping.

Well he has a good point tho, sure cash has no public ledger and whatnot, but you need to physically move it, this is counter-productive privacy wise since as he pointed there are cameras everywhere nowadays, so you can kiss goodbye to privacy unless you meet up in the middle of a forest or somewhere bizarre like that which is not very attractive customer wise.

Of course this is not a problem if you just get inside a house, but you would still trust that the other party hasn't placed a hidden minicamera recording you or something. So the ultimate form of cash for me would be anonymous and online, because you wouldn't need physical presence.

Even though there are cameras in many shops... from you describe you are probably from the UK, so lets assume there are cameras everywhere that is not private. So, cameras everywhere, you pay cash. How exactly do they get your name? Cash is anonymous not because you cant get filmed while you use it, but because it has no record of who used it.
4129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction not confirming on: December 13, 2015, 04:46:39 PM
What is this mean?
Quote
Transaction rejected by our node. Reason: Transaction was previously accepted but has been pruned from our database.

Its a blockchain.info specific message. It means they removed the transaction from their database. AFAIK they do this to modified transactions (as in malleated) as well as double spends, where one TX is confirmed.

I got your PM, not much I can do about it. As others above me said, the connection checks out. Whether you actually scammed or not does not matter much for now. The ratings are usually given in advance to prevent possible scams. It might give you an argument to have the ratings changed to neutral over time though.

IMHO the best thing you can do now is keep going and show that you can be trusted. It will be the more difficult way though. The easy way out is to just bump this account and start again.
4131  Economy / Reputation / Re: Shorena - To -ve reped and removed from default trust on: December 13, 2015, 04:21:05 PM
#1 this should be in reputation. no, has to do with default trust

#2 thanks quickseller for what? disregarding evidence and picking sides?

#3 thanks for giving me a chance to answer to the PM: you're welcome, i'm a pretty fair guy

No, the negativ rating is for promoting a ponzi. I will remove it if you remove the signature before you get paid. You probably just misread that. you didnt remove yours when you were promoting that scam, you waited for the money, why should I ?

#4 Again, I am not a God and I never claimed to be one. If you want to worship me, fine. I will probably not listen to your prayers though.

#5 The person that put me in this position is BadBear.

#6 I cant and I wont be able to go against all scams. Argueing why I dont go against something else you consider a scam is not helping you in discussion. Its not relevant. If you think there are known scams that needs tagging from someone from default trust. ~snip~
its not considered a scam, it is a scam

#7 My advertising for dicebitco.in has been explained at length. I might have been wrong about them, but to my knowledge they paid out everyone and closed shop. You might also notice that I still wear the rating I got for it. wrong

#8 When I had doubt about a casino I advertised for I left the campaign and waived payment. They turned out to be honest.
oh, when you have doubts you leave, but when its a proven scam you stay?

@EcuaMobi: Yes I kept wearing the signature after it turned out they skipped nonces. The full story is that they also repaid those affected by skipped nonces. Firstly only those that lost, but later everyone else. The story was that they hired a 3rd person that patched in the skipped nonces, did a mistakes as they did not review the code before it went live. I can look up the relevant threads later if you want.

#2 For congratulating me on my first drama thread. Im not very fond of it though.

#6 I think you missed the point. The point is I am not everywhere, nor do I try to be. Im out of cloud mining since hashie.

#7 wrong what? I have the feeling you dont want me to take you seriously.

#8 It was meant as an example that I am not perfect. I am not entirely sure I would make the same decision I did with dicebitco.in again. Should have could have is however not something I want to have a part in. I made my decision and if it turns out that I now deserve a negative rating for it, so be it.

@EcuaMobi:

This[1] is the thread Stunna openend when the skipped nonces happened. It includes a link[2] to the dicebitco.in main thread when the first people notices some "bug". I can give you some highlighty, but its probably better if you read up on your own after that. I dont want to influence your decision by cherry picking quotes. IIRC the campaign was run by the same two people running the casino. I joined september[3]. Mitchell and dooglus as escrow took over the campaign[4]. As you can see from the posts by the escrows it was not clear whether it was a scam or not. After some arguments have been passed Mitchell decided to pay out a large portion and let doog handle the rest[5]. Eventually the owners paid out on 1st Oct. The same day there was another claim that they are scamming as doog confirms here[6]. Whether or not I was still wearing the signature at that time I dont know.

#2 thanks quickseller

#3 thanks for giving me a chance to answer to the PM:

I'm gonna get paid from the doublebot signature campaign, who made you god to -ve rep me?
what about a few months ago when that cloudmining ponzi had their campaign, i didnt see you giving out -ve rep

Thanks for reminding me. Now if you want to be taken seriously you should change your tone. I am no god and I cant be everywhere. Feel free to PM me again if you are interested in a serious conversation.

ok you -ve reped me although i didnt get paid, ok, i see how this works

4133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoins "dissappread" after being transfered and not confirmed on: December 13, 2015, 12:59:02 PM
do the trasaction id appear in your wallet address if it is then i think from your wallet the bitcoins have moved but the thing is their that how do knowl that the transfered bitcoins is transfered to the sender but he is not accepting, it,

You cant not accept bitcoin. If someone has one of your addresses they can send you as much coins as they want, there is nothing you can do about it. You can send the coins back if you want, but its impossible to "not accept" a bitcoin transaction.
4134  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: BTC Adresse Generieren (Zeitpunkt) on: December 13, 2015, 12:47:58 PM

4135  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: static receiving address and public key of receiving address on: December 13, 2015, 12:46:15 PM

You can use bitaddress.org. Well actually if you use it, download it and use it locally. Its made to run locally, but better safe than sorry. It has a "Wallet Details" tab. If you enter any private key in any format there it will show you all common formats (Base58/WIF, hex and base64). This includes the compressed and uncompressed WIF priv. keys, as well as the hex pubkeys and addresses for them. Keep in mind that if you import private keys into electrum it will create a different wallet file for them and they will (obviously) not be covered by the seed.

You dont have to tip me, but Im glad for any donation to my node. http://213.165.91.169/ ( 14GXh8khHXd8p4nQRCQdWi7fvHsNCDBkTG )

I already used bitaddress.org to create paper wallets, so i know the tool, but i didn't know it could do that also. I will try it.

I'm not gonna import a pvt key into electrum. I'm just gonna import the pvt key of my electrum default wallet into bitaddress.org offline, so it can give me the compressed public key of my default wallet.

So if bitaddress.org tool can derive my public key from my private key, then that means basically that every receiving address in my default wallet has the same public key, correct ? (since my default wallet only has one private key and x receiving addresses).

OK, i will gladly donate to your node then.

No, you have a single master private key than is covered by the seed. The master priv key can be used to derive new private keys. Each of those private keys has two public keys (one compressed and one uncompressed) and two addresses (for the two pub keys). Each of the receiving addresses should show a different private key, unless something went wrong with the wallet.

There is also the master public key (xpubkey) which can only be used to derive all public keys and as such all addresses, but not the private keys.

Perma bans remove the signature and all profile info.

I guess in that case it makes no difference whether I remove the rating because they did not receive payment for the ponzi campaign or not. Thanks for clarifying.
It is possible that either BadBear or theymos could lift the ban in the future so I would suggest leaving the negative trust up. Plus him not receiving payout isn't exactly voluntary on his part.

There's that and also the profile could be linked to others in the future so feedback should remain. It could help identify scammers or stop their scams so it's best to leave it be imo.

They also got paid for the spam. And I thought YoBit et. al was bad.

Promoting ponzis is not against the forum rules no. Neither are ponzis or other scams.
4140  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should this Op of this thread get negged ? on: December 13, 2015, 10:35:37 AM
So basically it boils down to whether comments made in a thread should be deemed as a revision to the original terms. If so, this opens the floodgate for abuse.

Essentially yes. As you can see from the reactions in your thread as well as the comment by lemipawa here. You motivated people to invest more time with that comment. People here are eager to do a high amount of work for a little reward. That might be because they have no other options due to lack of education, age or possibilities. I dont know, maybe they dont perceive it as work, dont mind or enjoy it. Be that as it may, you should still honor your word.
