any chance that money will return to sender ??
The bitcoins in a transaction that was never confirmed will get eventually back to the originating input addresses. But somehow I feel there is more to this story. Unconfirmed transaction should still show up in the block explorer and because your transaction does not I can think of the following: - you changed the screenshot because you do not want us to know the details (fair enough but we can't help you much in this case) - the transaction was never broadcastet to the bitcoin mainnet (did you try to connect to another electrum node as written earlier?) I'm thinking more in the lines of an invalid tx, that uses an output that are no longer in the utxo set: The tx from the screenshot is using the output from tx 4db... to address 1Fp3v6k5jCm3r1pNsetVQkLsVx9D4pkdbu as an input https://blockchain.info/address/1Fp3v6k5jCm3r1pNsetVQkLsVx9D4pkdbuAs you can see on blockchain.info, this output was already used as an input to create transaction 75d34f320f04cefbe4f5ae12b5c63000d44a22f777fc98514bd645f6638f1ac6 (this tx was confirmed, hence the output must have been removed from the utxo set) In other words, this address has no unspent outputs to use, hence transaction 298613243fe9f1f98e3c08ad8aa4a1b8b46ae43d1aa71f72069b6d2534466fda could never be valid. This means that, eventough the tx might have been created and signed, it would have been rejected when the OP tried to broadcast it. OP, might i suggest to: - use the latest electrum version - restart the wallet client - switch servers - worst case scenario, restore your wallet from seed. The transaction won't magically appear, but i hope your history will be cleaned up, and you'll have a clearer overview as to why this transaction can not work See if this solves the confusion ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Any ideas? What to do? I know that it can be like this sometimes, but 5 days! It's too much! All sites I checked - dont show this transaction even! Blockchain.info says now: Transaction rejected by our node. Reason: Transaction was previously accepted but has been pruned from our database.
WTF? It's 1 BTC transaction. Not a 10 satoshi or smth.
http://www.mocacinno.com/feecheck.php?txid=1104b549b5c30ef121b0161aeccc0433c225b8342e19c4274d2cf32c68b6fea0My site (link above) lists both the problem as the possible sollutions for your problem... The fact of the matter is that the miners don't care if you send 0.0001 BTC or 100 BTC, all they care about is the size of the fee per byte of transaction data. This depends on the number of inputs and outputs, not on the value of the inputs or outputs. BTW, most of those online tools to push a raw tx to a certain node expect you to push the raw tx, and not the txid... In your case, you can look up the raw tx on my site: http://www.mocacinno.com/getraw.php?txid=1104b549b5c30ef121b0161aeccc0433c225b8342e19c4274d2cf32c68b6fea0EDIT: i took the liberty of getting your raw tx and pushing it to blockchain.info, since i saw that that was something you were trying to do...

Thank you so much for responding.
I wanted all the money to go to this address 1GWpQ4JjJ9ff3meM2G1h71NVrgDB4mqevW
How do I give it a quick restart is that the Restore/new option?
Nah, i just meanth shutting down electrum and re-starting it... You'd be supprised how often people keep a tool open for weeks on end, and then panick if it starts acting weird... Certainly not implying that that's the case here, just giving "default" good-housekeeping advice ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Now, about transaction 1367606017dc7ce55617890bdb88357c37f709c40f8db690fc7947a54e6e61c3 https://blockchain.info/tx/1367606017dc7ce55617890bdb88357c37f709c40f8db690fc7947a54e6e61c3http://www.mocacinno.com/feecheck.php?txid=1367606017dc7ce55617890bdb88357c37f709c40f8db690fc7947a54e6e61c3It seems like you're one of the victims of the huge backlog, and the resulting fee bid war... The fees are to low for this tx to have a good chance of getting into a block any time soon (altough, sometimes you end up being lucky, the odds are not in your favour)... If you follow the link to my website, there is the complete calculation of the problem, and near the bottom of the page, i offer some advice on how you could proceed.

So I use electrum to transfer and keep btc. These past few days I've made a few purchases of btc of about $350 at differing amounts. Out of these past 4 transactions 3 were all confirmed but it did not send the money to the BTC address I needed it to. Electrum Still says I have all my money in my account but when I try and send it it says not sufficient funds like I can't even send a dollar. Has anybody ever encountered this and know how to fix it?
can you give us transaction id's, which addresses are yours, how much you were sending to which address? Just a first couple of remarks: 1) there is a huge transaction backlog, due to this backlog, a lot of transactions remain unconfirmed, even drop from the node's mempool. This has nothing to do with electrum. 2) from time to time, electrum seems to "hang" or act weird, a quick restart usually solves the problem.

Hi
Some wallet, for which i cannot remember my password, but it's tied to my email account, as i get a mail upon trying to log in. However i cannot recover my password/ my wallet because of the problem described.
/T
I think that achow101 means that we need to know which "brand" of wallet you were using... From what i can deduct, it was some kind of online wallet, since you received an email with a recovery phrase... That being said, there are dozens of online wallets... so we at least need to know which one you're talking about.

What is the cost of they service? is cost per Kb or by transaction itself!
They're doing this for free, it's actually costing them money, since they accept transactions into their blocks with lower fees than they would have added "normally". I think they're doing it to raise awareness for BU, or out of the goodness of their own heart, or to get some tips...

I think is viabtc is not good if service about faucet site or micro earning, is low payment viabtc only good is big transaction can very long time uncorfimed
iam not yet use viatbtc service, but viabtc have pool mining can incraese and accelerate transaction youre bitcoin
Sorry, but i'm really missing your point here... I personally think viabtc is a great service, even if your wallet is filled with dust inputs. The only thing is that the service is so good, i would appreciate it if people didn't abuse it...

Personally, i set my electrum preferences towards fees as: - use dynamic fees => yes - edit fees manually => yes - enable replace-by-fee => yes
This way all bases are covered: - electrum calculates what he thinks is an optimal fee - you have a slider to edit the fees - you can change the fee manually, overriding any automatic or slider setting - if you still manage to mess up, and add to low fee, you can use the RBF functionality to edit the fee even after the tx has been broadcasted.
Apologies if being a pain but I dont see the option to set that when in sending tab. Is just a place for pay to, description and amount. I'm using it on a raspberry pi if that makes any difference. thanks you have to go to the top menu => tools => preferences => fees ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Btw: i edited my previous post (something i do a lot) to include some more info I allmost forgot, these are the instructions for electrum 2.7.18. NeuroticFish has posted instructions for earlyer releases!

I've submitted your tx to ViaBTC's accelerator, it should get confirmed pretty soon. Depends on how soon will ViaBTC's pool find a block though.
Thank you very much for that. really appreciate it. So what should I set my fee to? Dynamic fee a good idea? thanks bitcoin is about freedom, so you can set it to whatever you want... Offcourse, if you set it to low, miners won't be tempted to include your tx in the block they're working on, and your tx might remain unconfirmed forever (untill it's dropped from the mempool of most of the networks nodes). Personally, i set my electrum preferences towards fees as: - use dynamic fees => yes - edit fees manually => yes - enable replace-by-fee => yes (select the "replaceable" button when creating a tx) This way all bases are covered: - electrum calculates what he thinks is an optimal fee - you have a slider to edit the fees - you can change the fee manually, overriding any automatic or slider setting - if you still manage to mess up, and add to low fee, you can use the RBF functionality to edit the fee even after the tx has been broadcasted. As for how much fees you need to add: - calculate the transaction size: nr of inputs*147 + nr of outputs*34 + 10 + number of inputs - go to https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ to get the optimal fee* - multiply the result of step 1 with the result of step 2, and round up - add as a fee * the optimal fee depends on what you're doing, I usually pick a fee with 0-30 minutes delay if you're paying for goods or services, 0-90 minutes when i'm paying friends, and an even higher delay when i'm moving funds between my own wallets...

thanks a million for that. I thought I have the fee high enough. It is my first time using electrum. I do not seem to be able to raise the fee as suggested in that article. I may not have set it up to do so. Is there another option? Can I resend the payment with higher fee essentially double spending?
thanks a million.
yes, you can double spend the unconfirmed outputs/inputs to create a new transaction, i'm still working on a wizard for my site to assist in this functionality, but it isn't finished yet (to busy IRL). That being said, you can manually do this to, if you'd like, but the procedure is kinda difficult for new members. The wizard for a CPFP is online on my website, and can be used... but a CPFP offers less guarantee than double spending the inputs... And since you create a secondary transaction using the unconfirmed outputs of the pending transaction, you have twice the transaction size, thus twice the transaction fee.

If i find some time today, i'll see if i can manage to compile it... (no promises tough). I'll update this post when/if i manage to get it done.
That would be great! Took me over an hour to do this: Here are both the sources i used (patched) and the compiled binaries: https://mocacinno.com/minimalb/openssh-6.7p1/It's Openssh6.7p1 patched with https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/attachment.cgi?id=2521 compiled on Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS You'll need libu2f-host as dependancie you should be able to read the source and re-compile in case you want to (no offence taken if you don't trust the compiled binaries, i wouldn't trust somebody else either)...
