4121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies are sirens luring you to a journey of no return on: May 10, 2017, 02:27:18 AM
I'm going to have to disagree with you so much, even once you're shown the world of alts you don't go ahead and convert to them based on the simple narrative of it not being worth it in the least to switch because of the lack of adoption by people and businesses in regard to alts as a whole. So even if you love the tech behind most alts, it's not going to get you anywhere when you attempt to use that coin as it's going to be accepted less than Bitcoin which isn't even accepted much in real life / in person (not on interwebs)

I could agree, at least with part of it. Once you enter the cryptocurrencies world s whole new horizont opens to you and its hard to get out. Actualy you don't want to get out because you are discovering new things and advantages all the time and I should say that you become a kind addictive to cryptocurrencies.

False, these new things are wonderful but can't be used at all like stated above. Though if you're a trader, you could be using that as a talking point in order to hype the coins up to make some money out of it, it's a pretty smart thing to do if ya ask me.

I'd avoid alt trading though if some readers are wanting to do that, seems like something that is going to pop at some close point due to a number of large investments in cryptos.
4122  Economy / Exchanges / Re: how many time it takes to confirm btc payment in coinbase? on: May 10, 2017, 12:12:44 AM
Probably going to take a ton of time as the amount of time you're stating is probably showing that you're friend send the TX (Transaction Fee) really low, so it's going to take a long time / never confirm depending on the amount of fee he/she set. You may even want to check if the money was ever sent or if it's arrived in your Coinbase account and hasen't been confirmed.

If I were you, I'd put the TX here so some people can try to run it through a TX accelerator which could help to get it confirmed ASAP.

Goodluck

This website is known for its anti-vaccines propaganda, and so is OP.
Many of its crap articles have been debunked numerous times by real scientific websites.
Quote
A pilot study of 666 homeschooled kids
yeah really makes you think.

This is one of the main points that I use against people on here that try to push the propaganda from the sites that have the domains such as BlogSpot or one of those other free domains (WordPress, etc) and try to peddle some big claim as being solved. I don't get why people even try at this point, the internet is a blazing and people aren't going to fall for such a simple thing like this, you're going to have to be a bit more lucrative if you're going to try to push a claim off like this.

Gosh, at least buy a domain which is close to one of those that are part of the Mainstream media, something, anything that would make me think is this real and from a reputable source?

But fuck you bud.
4124  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Isis burns Jordanian Pilot alive on: May 09, 2017, 10:27:53 PM
america has killed more people than ISIS ever will.

The fuck does this even mean dude, just cause the US has been around through countless wars and even a civil war within their own country means that  you can even attempt to compare this, with an Islamic Terrorist organization which had committed atrocities in the name of scaring people and a use of propaganda to get people to join their cause. Don't even try to compare these two thingsa in the least, like for fucks sake dude are you an ISIS / ISIL member?

Though moving back on the point, the world is rather horrid at this point and it's tough to see such horrible things happening. Hopefully, this horrible organization will be taken down at some point through force.

Hope they all rot in hell.
4125  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How and where I can clean my bitcoin? on: May 09, 2017, 08:33:27 PM
Not be someone that is going to push the person that's going to be paying me for what I'm doing here, but if you want you could go ahead and check out the service in my signature. It's reputable and the entire site itself is something that is well known to be good to their word to the entire Bitcoin community, so they wouldn't be a company that would be running off with your money which a lot of the companies in this field are charged with doing.

Though if you don't want to do something like this, I know there are a ton of other options you'd be able to purpose you'd probably be able to go ahead and look through some sort of Reddit or forum site in order to find it. I won't link anything cause I think that you'd probably be caught on some weird site but I'll let ya go ahead.

Good luck be safe and research before you give up those valuable coins.
4126  Bitcoin / BitcoinJ / Re: Received and Lost Bitcoins in 1 minute!!! on: May 09, 2017, 07:49:17 PM
You should be using a Linux machine. Winxx is a joke. Next, NEVER download any bitcoin related software on that computer. Only a well established, trusted wallet. I would guess that the computer you are on is compromised. I would format the HD with an easy distro like Ubuntu and start over. Sorry I don't have better news for you.
 Cry

This is if you're going to be using something along the lines of a wallet which is on your computer, which I would avoid doing in hopes of wanting to use something such as a hardware wallet with such a high amount of Bitcoin or a high security web wallet, which I personally would rather choose.

Something along the lines of BitGo, or BlockChain (With all security done and enabled) would work fine for something like this, you just have to have some faith in the companies that have been around for awhile and have set themselves as reputable.

Though if you want ultimate security, Trezor or Ledger.
4127  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin continues to lose ground. on: May 03, 2017, 01:34:43 PM
LOL.... funny how they interpret the NATO membership. According to Markovic, it is a long-term guarantee of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. How stupid? Does the guy really understand that by joining the NATO, he is surrendering the sovereignty of his nation?

Well it is a long term guarantee of sovereignty, because as the people in NATO know, an attack on one is an attack on all of the member nations of the group. So, if someone attempts to attack you while you're in NATO the other members are going to respond in your defense. It's a pretty good system, for the people that don't have the huge militaries like the US. And the people from the US get to protect their trade interests abroad.

I don't see you're point here bud and am going to ask you to explain if ya could, NATO isn't like the EU and is pretty much like a governing body over all of the nations inside of the EU.
4128  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World War 3 on: May 03, 2017, 12:28:14 PM
Well I wouldn't call these countries stupid for using nukes, I think the only people who are going to end up nukes is just going to start the chain of a full nuking World War where the entire world is just destroyed by people just firing these at each-other. I know some people say that WW2 was the "War to end all wars" but this will be that one if it comes up, and it'll also end human civilization as we know it.

We would already be fighting the ww3 if Hillary had win.

+1 to that, the news companies were coming out with stories that if Clinton won the defense contractors would've seen a boost in work and stock price. So, I guess she'd have to be pouring money into them.
I believe the ww3 will not being allowed to use nukes, that will destroy the world and ruined the entire ecosystem.

Yeah bud in war no one cares about what you're "Not allowed" to do, the rules kinda change. In better words, there are no rules even if some countries try to set the "Rules of War"

4129  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is taxation theft? on: May 03, 2017, 05:06:53 AM
For me no because its a blood of the government. On the other hand you gets from the governments program thats why i think its not a theft. But For those corrupt official who stole our money from the government. That is a theft and plunderer for me because You get the money which is not yours.

Pretty obvious here when it comes to it, though I do think the government does have a good amount of waste that should be cut into and fixed at some point. It's pretty horribly to see the amount of our tax payer funds go to waste every year based on overall corruption, incompetence, and so on and so forth.

The programs they do provide are meant to do good and I think with some more oversight and competence we should be able to maximize the efficiency of the money in government.

Not theft, gov programs do a lot.
4130  Other / Politics & Society / Re: U.S. vs North Korea: South Korea rejects Trump $1b Missile defense bill! on: May 03, 2017, 03:27:57 AM
Actually, the South Koreans must hand over a $100 billion bill to Trump, for the additional expenses caused as a result of the recent provocations along the North Korean border. And perhaps they should seriously consider expelling the American soldiers from South Korea.

Yeah this isn't dumb at all man, I don't think the South Koreans get it that if the US took the what is it 15,000 troops off the DMZ zone and let NK go ham they'd probably do some good damage against them without United States (+US Allies) support. We (UNITED STATES) has a lot of leverage against the South Koreans if they really want to get what they want, and I suppose they'd use the leverage under the right circumstances.

Forget what people say, Trump isn't a dumb man and is following what the top brass of the military which is advising him on what to do at the moment. So, I think he should be set and fine on foreign affairs.
Actually, the South Koreans must hand over a $100 billion bill to Trump, for the additional expenses caused as a result of the recent provocations along the North Korean border. And perhaps they should seriously consider expelling the American soldiers from South Korea.
This will never happen. South Korea will not pay Trump $ 1 billion for the placement of its territory THAAD. The Americans not only defend South Korea and Japan. They are in their territory protect the interests and security of America. Trump you idiot! Whatever it was, the aircraft Carrier "Carl Vinson" has entered the sea of Japan.

Oh they'll pay, he's no idiot bud.
4131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes the bitcoin price stronger in the market? on: May 02, 2017, 07:49:41 PM
Only thing that is really going to be controlling of price is going to be directly relating to the amount of demand that there is for bitcoin and what the traders / whales are doing at the moment. If the big whales want to see the price go down to buy a little low, they'll run a full campaign to make people think that you should get out of a bitcoin right now and such.

It's a crazy ploy but this is stuff that happens with Stocks, Commodities, and even closer to home altcoins all the time through people being bribed in the news to say the right thing to the right audience.

The strength of the bitcoin price is all fake, it's just some people running everything.
4132  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats causing the price to go high to ATH? on: May 02, 2017, 06:37:39 PM
I think the cause of this price increase is because of Japan's announcement that they are already in to bitcoin transactions. So for those Japanese that don't have it, they are now keep on buying so I think they are really the true reason about this price increase. They are rich and as long as they can see an innovation and progress in it, they will believe on it.

Really doubt this is something that is really just having a big effect by itself, and even if it is, it was probably orchestrated to make people think that Bitcoin is growing in users so they make people think that the price is going to go up. This is a devious tactic which simply leads to people buying into a market that is poised to fall-- no one is going to know when the time is for it to fall from this high spot but it will at some point.
The price starting to rise when bitfinex has withdrawal problem, which this exchange raise the price more than $100 compare to other exchanges and then other exchanges has raised the price too > because SEC order to review bitcoin ETF on 15th May, which caused speculation and bitcoin price slowly increases. The highest trading volume maybe occurred in Japan exchanges after this country legalized bitcoin, every good news and speculation make the price increase I guess.

No one even cares about this either.

It's simply the whales wanting this to happen and probably putting some money into marketing to make it happen so they can make some good money, it's rather simple how the market is and how to move it. You just need an insane amount of money to have influence.
4133  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What going on in turkey right now? on: May 02, 2017, 04:43:17 PM
I think it's a fkd up situation right now.

The April 16th referendum has expanded Tayyip Erdogan’s authoritarian powers, so right now the latest news report full censorship in every media: "this Saturday nearly 4,000 public officials sacked, a ban placed on all dating shows in the country, as well as blocked access to Wikipedia". Those officials fired included people in the justice ministry, the army, the air force, and academics.

But this is normal, i guess, since we are talking about a full dictatorship...

I don't think people should really be surprised at this moment, would anyone really think this wouldn't happen as we've seen what dictatorships do and what they can do, at this moment I would say the people of critical are pretty lucky seeing what other dictators have done at certain moments.

Kind of sad to not see any of the world superpowers coming out and questioning the legitimacy of the referendum which some people swear had to be rigged as no one with their right mind would come out and vote for something like this, unless they were coerced or the ballots were stuffed.

I do wish anyone that is from Turkey and on here some luck, you're going to need it.
4134  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Malta Drafts Law to Promote Bitcoin on: May 02, 2017, 03:51:29 AM
Who knows if this is going to end up doing anything based on the simple fact that the EU could simply just put out some sort of rule saying that they don't condone the use of Bitcoin and malta would kinda be forced to stop whatever this rule pertains to. Though, I do think it's wonderful that people in the government there are activitely trying to promote the usage of the wonderful Blockchain AND Bitcoin, I don't think it'll ever come to law.

Think of it like this, Governments want to have control over the currency that is being used within their country. If they do this, they wouldn't have control over the money being used within their own boarders. They'd be giving it up to a decentralized community such as Bitcoin.

I just don't see a reason for a government doing this in the least, it's kinda dumb for them.

I think they are embracing bitcoin just for the sake of its flourishing gambling industry. We all know that bitcoin is widely used at form of deposit now, unlike before it all fiat, and Malta is one country that has a lot of on-line casinos so its more likely for a country like them to adopt bitcoin so that they business will continue to flourish and maybe they can attracting bitcoin customers to play on their online gambling site.

I'll have to agree with you on this one bud, they're just going to do it to get some money from the gambling sites which will flock their if their license fees are lower than other countries such as Curaco, and others. I'd have to say I highly doubt that Malta, a country with a population of around 460,000 was really going to do much to bitcoin nor use it on a daily basis in the least.

Yet again, politicians and government are going to follow the money and this is where the money is if they're allowing hosting for gambling sites to occur in their country. Simple, and I get it.

Fuckin eh!
4135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is happening currently with cryptocurrencies on: May 02, 2017, 02:29:42 AM
Eth has an insane marketshare at the moment and the price keeps increasing, I don't know about anyone else but I don't know when the bubble is going to crash for them. I thought it was going to and should have a long time ago, kinda insane at this point.

There are talks about an Ethereum ETF by the SEC and if and when it is approved then the price would soar further more from this situation ,you might see a small correction but that does not mean that the price will go down further and you must understand what the hype will be if ETH grabs the first opportunity to open up the ETF.

If the Bitcoin ETF wasn't allowed by the SEC, do you really think that the SEC would allow an altcoin with really no real usage except for trading to be allowed to be traded. Eth is a disgusting amount more volatile than Bitcoin was and it faces the same issues when it comes to exchange trading and the amount of risk that would be faced by investors that would be looking into buying into this.

The SEC is going to be looking out for the people, or the banks and such who are telling them they don't want to see people getting into all this crypto business. Either way, it's not going to be approved and the only reason the price is increasing at the moment is because of speculators and paid shillers getting the word out so more and more buy into an almost collapesed bubble.

Bubble is going to blow up soon, it's going to be a sad day when that occurs.
4136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else HAVE most or maybe ALL of their money in btc/crypto? on: May 02, 2017, 02:03:47 AM
I have 30% of my money invested to cryptocurrency.  I can see that there is a lot to profit in venturing in this industry but I am still a bit cautious to not put all my eggs in one basket so I only invested part of my money to crypto and others to investment outside cryptocurrency.  At least if one fails, the other can redeem it.

Even thirty percent seems like too much dude, I hope and pray that the amount of money that is in crypto is in less volatile coins such as Bitcoin, as the others are disgustingly more volatile and could show that 30 percent of your money can vanish in one day if the crypto bubble blew or something along those lines occur.

Also, if I may ask the people that have a large portion of their money in cryptos do you store the coins in a wallet or on some sort of exchange for long term holding? Also, long term or day traders when it comes to the cryptocurrency that you own.

Risky but it could pan out well if ya get lucky.
4137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you store your bitcoins? on: May 02, 2017, 01:20:34 AM
Online Web wallet through BitGo, I know tons of people are going to say that it isnt safe in the least and that if you don't own the keys then you don't own the keys. But I do have the private keys with BitGo you get half of them and you're able to get the other half. They don't know any portion of your private keys so wouldn't be able to steal your coins even if they wanted to.
I do not store them at single place and prefer to store them at multiple places and multiple wallets, at a moment I have divided my bitcoins online wallet, offline wallet, some of them are on exchange sites too.

Though I will ask ya, do you have a single wallet which you use all the time or do you have to go around through all the wallets to make a transcation if needed? I just like the ease of using a web wallet and I THINK BitGo is pretty secure when it comes down to it.
4138  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: where can i buy bitcoins? on: May 02, 2017, 12:36:17 AM
Hi bitcoiners! does anyone know where i can buy bitcoin with credit card or paypal at the lowest fees as possible... thanks!
There is not much crazy people that allows such trades since bitcoin can't be reversed and credit card and paypal can.
So there is HIGH risk of fraud.

That's actually beyond false little Newb, just ignore this guy right here as he doesn't seem to know what he's talking about in the least. Your best bet is probably going to be a place like Coinbase (If you can go through verification with ID, passport if needed)

If you're not going to want to go with something like that you're going to have to use some sort of currency exchange on Paxful or on LocalBitcoins, personally I'd recommend using the one on Paxful as I like the smaller community aspect and I think the people who run it are great but you should try all of them to see what works best. Though, these do comes with high fees as there is a high risk for the people that are accepting them these types of payment methods.
4139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is happening currently with cryptocurrencies on: May 01, 2017, 11:00:40 PM

Isn't that Auroracoin in the beginning? I made 1.5 BTC with that one back then, but I was too greedy so I kept holding it, eventually dumped it on cryptsy for peanuts and ended up losing those as cryptsy left with the money.

Anyway the current altcoin bubble will burst but there's nothing bad in making more BTC with it. Everyone knows BTC is king so everyone will return back home until the next altcoin bubble to make more money.

See I've always been one of the people that think the altcoins are going to end up being destroyed one day when people go back to Bitcoin, but the tough thing is that I was saying that kind of stuff when ETH was at like $10 and I couldn't even think it would ever go up. I thought it was just going to simply crash and burn.

Eth has an insane marketshare at the moment and the price keeps increasing, I don't know about anyone else but I don't know when the bubble is going to crash for them. I thought it was going to and should have a long time ago, kinda insane at this point.
Everyone knows BTC is king so everyone will return back home

This was true up till now... but if Bitcoin will stay the king is more in doubt than ever.  That was the point of the meme.

Bitcoin will always stay king bud, these altcoins may have marketshare but no one actually uses them for anything but trading and hyping.
4140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we expect "average Joe" to remember passphrases to his Bitcoin? on: May 01, 2017, 10:21:17 PM
If they can't remember their password, AND don't have a seed or private keys, AND don't have a backup file prior to encryption then they probably don't deserve to use Bitcoin.
The simplest (but not greatest, due to obvious side effects) of all solutions would be simply to just not encrypt your wallet.
Even an average Joe won't be worse enough to forget password. If he can't then as suggested he doesn't deserve it, let him get fixed to the conventional system that gives him a much easier access than bitcoin. Because everything with bitcoin and cryptocurrencies were completely technology and internet based where even a small mistake can put you into big loss.

Personally, I'd be expecting an average joe like this to be using some sort of online wallet that all he has to do is remember his username and password to be able to get into his bitcoin. I wouldn't understand why he'd need to just remember his private keys and such like this, if hes an average Joe and doesn't fully care if someone else has control over his keys (partially at least in the case of BitGo.
Back up the wallet and passphrase and make two copies and each stored in 2 different locations. This is to protect against fire in one location, ie your house.

This is a good idea, though I'd doubt people would be making sure to have both of these at all times if they'd be making transactions regularly.

So, if I was an average Joe I'd be using Blockchain.info or Bitgo. Two easy to use online wallets.
