4141  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: November 25, 2015, 06:35:04 PM
Seems I'm always the guy who has bad luck...

I have currently four S4 running. Well, not correct: They were running.

First, all of them had a bad PSU. They were replaced, since then they worked pretty good.

Now, all the sudden, all of them do not come up again completely.

Four of the S4 just turn on, the LED stays blank, no connection, no hashing.

The fifth of the S4 started to hasth with 50 % but nothing is shown on the LED which is just blank, but obviously powered.

What worries me is that all five all the sudden started to behave like this... has anyone seen a similar behavior?

Did you have any surges or anything wierd on power circuit?  To have  4 separate S4's stop mining makes it sound like it's a shared issue.

I would look into power make sure everything is ok.  Next look into connection make sure each cord is active on network.  It does worry me that none are working normal.  Did  you have surge protectors on them?
4142  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Miners should Start a Union on: November 25, 2015, 06:31:03 PM
We demand higher price. We no sell coins !

seriously its worth thinking of haha Smiley imagine if the TOP 5 mining farms (or maybe 10-30?) would demand to sell coins for 10-20% higher then todays value.
If the price remains high due to the nonselling of the top 5 mining farms, smaller farms will be happier to sell at the inflated price.

This has already been discussed.  A union will not work here as BTC is a freemarket not a boss/workplace we can bargain with.

On price it would take owning enough hash be able to not sell and effect price.  Is someone did this I think it would hurt bitcoins trust.    But as you mention top 5 farms.... they will not stop selling.  They are making profits.

I think we really should let this thread die.  But it keeps poping back up.
4143  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how can i earn with bitcoin please? on: November 25, 2015, 05:33:49 PM
I usually earn some bits on my referall on faucet site

How can I earn from some ref ?
The easiest way is from your friend because you have known each other so you can introduce bitcoin with your way without being worried

If you were a good friend you would not send them off to do faucets.... it is so little pay it's a waste of time.  If you want to be a good friend suggest they register here and start looking into bitcoin.

One day when they hit Jr. Member and sig campaign pays decent they will be thanking.  Its so much better then sending them to do faucet.
4144  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: November 25, 2015, 05:25:44 PM
Ok, now it s clear there s been some issue. How many people have not been paid during the last round? Has anyone been able to contact Marco?

I got last round but waiting on the payment where some got a limit on posting earlier then when it should have taken effect.  I have sent PM's.

I'm just trying to be patient.  I don't think me PMing or posting a lot about it will help hurry anything along.
4145  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: November 25, 2015, 05:23:12 PM
I hope i can soon start in a signature campaign. That looks to me one of the best ways. But as newbie there is nothing i think. Have to wait a litte bit until i'm junior member.

it would be better for you to join the signature campaign to wait until jr.member with higher payments. but if you are impatient, you can directly join now Smiley

I highly suggest giving it time before you join one.  Looking at current posts I'm guessing if you get a signature, you get a temp ban for low quality posts.

Posts like:
thanks for sharing with us.

Your last drink... what time you went to bed... etc just are not up to par for what is needed to be in a signature campaign.  I suggest taking a step back and look into making more constructive posts.
4146  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d on: November 25, 2015, 05:17:28 PM
In terms of Noise and dB - Is it the same as an avalon 4.1?  How about a Bitmain S3?

a bit worse then the s3

db's are in the higher 50's

it is a decent piece of gear and for my setup it is better then the s-7

I think I am going to send my two s-7's to sidehack for hosting.

Then add more avalon 6s for my garage.

If someone needs it to be even quieter i think there is a possibility adding a fan in the front to push air through might help, and take regular fan that pulls from 20 percent to 10.

I have not seen anyone do it yet but i think putting fan's in a push/pull has some possibilities as far as going even more quiet.
4147  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Avalon 6's are in undervolt + down clock results. on: November 25, 2015, 05:12:20 PM
New firmware dropped my hashrate by 100gh

Even overnight it didn't really improve anything

The one unit I flashed runs at 3450gh with the avg being at 3300gh.. Running on a single Seasonic 1200w plat

This is part of reason I think having a RPI as a controller is a huge advantage.    On a lot of miners that would be a pain to go back, and reset settings and such..

But with using the RPI you just need to backk it up... and re flash sd card.  This is part of why I think RPI beats custom controllers.
4148  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer U4??? on: November 25, 2015, 05:06:14 PM
I would say very unlikely. The R1 Antrouter might be thought of an an entry level Miner, however we have only seen one small batch of those so even it's future is uncertain. They also have their hands pretty full with S7 shipments and revisions at the moment.

Rich

Last I heard CrazyGuy had both R1's and U3's in stock if your wanting them.   Make sure to select custom firmware when buying, the automatic fixing of zombies on UE3 is awesome.

That firmware changed my life for the easier, that is for sure.

4150  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Limited edition Bitcoin graffiti panels. on: November 25, 2015, 08:14:37 AM

Man some people on this forum are giving me a hard time... sure anyone could do what I've done but it's the doing that counts not talking about it.
If I'd painted each one lovingly as suggested could've been criticised all the same “anyone can splash a bit of paint on wood” etc.
So anyway, I'm not here to rebuff every critic. Admittedly some are valid and constructive.
Anyway if you believe that Bitcoin fan art will have value in the future, you might see something to interest you here.

And just to get things into perspective, recently this small one-off piece sold for $5501 at this auction >  https://bitify.com/auctions/collectable-art/nakamoto-original-artwork-by-cryptograffiti-196070/
 and some more > http://motherboard.vice.com/read/the-devout-and-lucrative-world-of-bitcoin-fan-art

Thank you

Keep in mind that first link is "This is a charity auction with 100% of the proceeds..." .  There is a huge difference from charity and for profit.   I mean likely a decent part of that painting is could be a tax write off.

And on second article some of it is "listed for".   You can list it for anything you want, listing and selling are two different things.

I like that the artwork reminds me of my avatar.   But I don't think you will get the amount your wanting.
4151  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How do you get free power? on: November 25, 2015, 07:59:13 AM
there is no free, power, even solar or wind, or what you want require initial investment, what people want to say with free power is

1) abusing power of other(like student in college) or stealing it like soe russian, with the magnet trick(apprently still working there)

I don't know on college student depends on contract if it's abuse.  I personally did not bring miners with me when I was in university... I just did not want sound/heat so mined and paid electricity at family home.

One apartment I had had a 25 dollar cap on electricity. It was student apartments and costed a small fortune but each roommate could not get charged more then 25 extra per month no matter electricity bill.  But I did not want to have my roommates paying that, and again did not really want miner in room so did not mine there. But I could have with the policy they had.  But again it was student housing with 2 pools, tons of extras, so they charged a ton and did not really care on electricity.
4152  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Some help here please !! on: November 25, 2015, 07:53:41 AM
So please to be more clear if i buy avalon 6 what other should i buy to complete can you send me a links to buy all detalis what need for avalon 6 and start working cuz i see to many reply but honestly im new on this and i have a little bit problem with english to be more clear just send me links to buy all products which need for avalon 6  / 3 tera and thank you for you reply

you said one tera in the original post, then you can simply grab one s5 wich will cost you nothing(1 btc) roi should be 5 months, you just need one cpu psu to use it a corsair RM 750 will suffice

OP still has not said electricity price.   So it's kinda hard to recommend him gear yet.

Until you know that we cannot really say what efficiency he needs.  We can guess and speculate.  But we need more info.
4153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Most Secure bitcoin wallet ? on: November 25, 2015, 07:02:31 AM
I love blockchain, but I don't know if you can call it the most secure...

It is secure as much as you stay secured, have a strong password, 2FA activated and using a clean device(without viruses), but i have seen that blockchain is not allowing some users to withdraw their money sadly.

Can you point to article or where this is coming from?  That would be odd for blockchain to stop users from their own funds.

They allow you to get the private key through their paper wallet.. so you should be able to import it into about any wallet.
4154  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Help! Mining is killing my lightbulbs on: November 25, 2015, 06:59:15 AM
I don't think the LEDs will help because in one room I have those IKEA lights and they use a 35Watt halogen bulb and they flicker also during block changes.

Pretty sure nothing is wrong with the electrical. Its just in-rush current kind of like when starting a large motor or washing machine. 1000W is considered a pretty large load. Maybe a surge protector can suppress this.

110 or 120 though should be able to handle 1k watts pretty easily.   It is a lot of power but it should not be a game stopper unless you have a lot of other items or some high wattage items on same circuit.

But 1k watts is not horrible as far as load it should be able to handle it.
4155  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Nov 23 to Dec 7 Set up stage- Picks Not Open Yet on: November 25, 2015, 05:37:25 AM
Another 10% to get us around 80 B difficulty would not be unusual by any means, hardware is getting pushed out and set up.  But All these new batches of antminers are still yet to be received, I think about 3 batches are in the works still.  So im not sure how much addition hash this will equal, big jumps could be expected once all that get shipped out.

Well the builders have decided to open the floodgates.  So I see  some big jumps coming.  Looks like d57heinz   has pegged the jump  ahead of all of us.

Well time to watch is now.

We also have not heard from some big sales.  Mr. Lee claimed to buy 3PH of avalon 6's i think it was - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=934581.0 .

No announcement on his cloud mining going up yet I don't think.  So there could be lot's of Avalon's going out to.  Just like BlockC should have 10 MW center.... between just Avalon and Bitmain were talking about a ton of possible gear.
4156  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 240v plugs and phases on: November 25, 2015, 04:08:16 AM
ok anyone have any idea where i can get a converter plug for that for a 50amp pdu or where i can get the 50amp intelligent pdu from?

driving myself nuts with google

Be extremely careful if that is really 50 amp... that can kill.  When I did my mining area I shut power to my area off.  If your like my house outside your able to shut down the power.  Mine has 200 going to house, 100 going to mining area.

I always turned it off checked mains.  I also used quality tools that were non conductive.  Even overboard on meter I'm using a fluke.  240 scares me and I treat it with the utmost respect.

On PDU has anyone in here used a 50 amp PDU that seems like a ton going through it?

it can do  8 or 9 s-7's.  I never used one that big.

I do have 2x  30 amp circuits  more then I need .  The wife is not going to let me run 11kwatts between the two.

I also would not be able to cool the house off.

I haven't used 50 amp PDU either that seems like it would be commercial and very expensive.  I would almost think you would be better off starting with a 30 amp psu for decent price.  And if you really have to have 50 amp on one line, I would look into guage needed and get a Y adapter and do one 30 amp and one 20 amp.

I just think if there is a 50 amp you find it's going to cost a small fortune to buy.  Its a very high number on amps.
4157  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: November 25, 2015, 03:54:57 AM
Has anyone else here ordered an S7 from Bitmain via a DOMESTIC wire transfer? I called 844-248-6246 and have been getting the run around for wire instructions  for many days now even though I have an open ticket with them. I was under the impression Bitmain was in business to sell their products

There is support in us.... but the ordering likely will be though China.  If you ordered a ton I suppose they might make a exception.

Have you tried the from contact page emailing - https://www.bitmaintech.com/about.htm:

Contact Us

Anyting related with this site and your order, such as invalid order or payment does not show up: webmaster@bitmaintech.com

Business plans/proposals, customer service and RMA request: info@bitmaintech.com

I would try a email to both and see what results are if you have not already.

As others have suggested try out LEDs, used to have a dimming effect come into play with standard cheap bulbs but since switching over to LEDs I believe it is resolved, can't be 100% certain although I have not noticed any dimming for the past 4 months.

And the more I think about this one the more I wonder if something bigger is wrong.  It just is not normal to kill light bulbs because of 1k watt miner assuming decent wiring, and breaker is decent.  LED likely will be a fix... but I wonder underlining cause.

Honestly you might think about getting a electrician even if the LED fixes it.  I would ask them to check gauge of wire, make sure it still seems to be of ok quality and no issues.   Really open up the breaker box and look at what's behind the metal front (I dont suggest doing this on your own if not use to electricity and don't have power to house off.  The main can be a scary thing on amount of electricity).

You can run some things yourself like checking circuit - http://www.amazon.com/Sperry-Instruments-GFI6302-Outlet-Tester/dp/B000RUL2UU/ .  That  is kinda a DIY version a electrician will be much better on that.

today is about 6.5%

https://blockchain.info/blocks

385187 (Main Chain)   2015-11-24 22:45:16

385041 (Main Chain)   2015-11-24 00:00:20

147 blocks in the time we should make 138

Today only ended up being +7% but after all the difficulty already adjusted yesterday by 10% so I guess +7% still is considered high.

I like 5 or less myself.  I did most of my ROI at 5 as high side..... but it might be changing and I might need to chance some excel sheets I have.  Kinda using this week as another idication if it slowing down or if it continues.

Worst case is Bitmain, Avalon, and Bitfury are all currently pumping out gear.  Not sure if that is happening or true.   But there are still some like SP-50 and that B-11 I think it is that I don't think we have seen.  So it could be even worse I guess.

Good news is we were pretty low for a long time, so a few high ones will not kill my ROI.  But if it becomes normal it's sure going to hurt my bottom line.
