The family, or hospital staff, could have failed to wipe the phone before selling it, and a hacker restored data that included forum credentials and the phone's photos.

People buy old phones and hard drives just for this reason.

Reserved #1

(even I'm curious to see what happens when "tomorrow" comes.  Grin )

I have also discovered that BCT will convert your time code (see above) and convert it to this format:

Code:
[time]01 June 2023, 12:00:00[/time]

Which will be displaied as follows:

June 01, 2023, 02:00:00 AM

(note, you should be seeing a time that is the equivalent of 02:00 GMT on the first of June 2023 but adjusted to your local system's time.

The Birdsville Cup has been cancelled for 2020 and will be back in September 2021.

Birdsville Races the latest major event to be cancelled due to coronavirus restrictions

Quote

The cancellation of the Birdsville Races is a blow for outback tourism.(ABC News: Aneeta Bhole)

The iconic Birdsville Races have been cancelled for 2020 due to the restrictions in place because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Key points:
The Birdsville Races can't go ahead because of travel and social distancing restrictions
Club president David Brook said it was tough decision and they held off for as long as possible
The cancellation comes during outback Queensland's typical tourism season
It comes as another blow to the outback's Diamantina Shire after the Birdsville Big Red Bash was cancelled in April.

Despite holding on to hope that the races would go ahead, organisers today made the call to cancel the event, dubbed the "Melbourne Cup of the outback".

4145  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] FreeBitco.in Signature Campaign | Sr./Hero/Legendary | on: May 25, 2020, 08:57:54 AM
Hi I just spotted this in another one of your campaigns that you manage:

I also made another change, I'm going to require you to use a SegWit address if you want to get paid in this campaign, fees just get out of hand if we have a few users with legacy addresses so if you are affected I've placed a "?" in your address field in the Spreadsheet then I'll need you to PM me with a new payment address.

It would be nice if we all went over to bech32 addresses as that way we'd save the most but I will continue allowing "3prefix" addresses.

Do you want us to convert to bech32, I've whipped up a new address: bc1qaaed5fg27kss4m9qzlqkh5lr92wwte6c93rlq7 (I'm also ok with the 33ibycyDdL1U8Jx56qTLDRjApNMLCDePaT continuing to be used too)

Anyone wanting to create bech32 wallet addresses can do so via this website: https://segwitaddress.org/bech32/ ( or Segwit 3... addresses here: https://segwitaddress.org/ )

Potentially stupid question, is this forum local time or mine? I saw "your"?

Feel free to delete this after clarification
It'll be good to see you back. That's taken some time to SUS though! (almost like me trying to do something Grin)

Heh heh heh...

I was hoping someone would ask that question - it really is *your* time as discussed in this thread. (bottom of the post).  I'm still working on an actual text countdown, but this is as close as I can get for the moment.

Update on my LN lending thread:

Will be back in operation around about June 01, 2020, 02:00:00 AM (your local time) for main-net and test-net lightning network loans up to seven days duration after having managed to finally get all my funds out of the old Éclair wallet and install a new Éclair wallet with healthy inbound and outbound capacity.  Main-net: (Inbound BTC 0.02 and outbound BTC 0.005 - Test-net is similar)

More information will be posted in the thread: Timelord2067's Timely Test & Main-neT LighTning Loans to a "T" in 2020

4150  Other / Meta / Re: [LIST] Open Merit Source Applicants & "waiting list". on: May 24, 2020, 10:26:44 PM
Don't people already give your alt merits?
I'm talking about sMerit, not Merit Smiley In other words: make LoyceMobile a Merit source, and take the sMerit it gets from my LoyceV account.

Update: I get the confusion now, I make it sound as if I'm going to Merit my alt-account. That's not what I was looking for.

Thanks for clarifying, there are still some nuances of the forum that occasionally trip me up.
4151  Other / Meta / Re: [LIST] Open Merit Source Applicants & "waiting list". on: May 24, 2020, 11:58:23 AM
I finally managed to empty my source Cheesy Giving 6 sMerit at a time solved it. This also prevents mistakes.

I would however like to transfer 50 source sMerits per month to LoyceMobile. I now often notify myself from Mobile to Merit a topic, so making LoyceMobile a Merit source would be convenient.

It's very confusing really.

Don't people already give your alt merits?  How would you exclude your alt from any ranking systems that utilised merit count in their keeping score of users' activities?  I seem to recall also that you were at one point keeping track of the alts merits for when the alt is/was about to level up.  If your alt is showered with merits wouldn't that alt be able to participate in signature campaigns at higher levels?  You would also be able to ask more for the alts' signature space if the merits accelerated you ascension to legendary.

Very confusing indeed.

Alani123 might want to have a look at this thread when he has a chance.
4153  Other / Meta / Re: [LIST] Open Merit Source Applicants & "waiting list". on: May 24, 2020, 04:02:42 AM

I haven't read through the list of other applicants (no offence to anyone applying).

From the questions I've already asked Alani123 I like the answers he's given - this is the kind of attitude I'd like to see not just in new merit font applicants, but to put to the current merit fonts to either lift their game, or step aside and let someone with Alani123's overview of the forum take charge.
4154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⭐🚀 [ANN] GameCoin™ (GME) Thread -"Beyond the Controller"! ⭐🚀 on: May 24, 2020, 03:57:07 AM
What's shaking, guys? Is gamecoin itching to get to new levels of mass adoption, or is it slowly mouldering in its cesspit of abandonment? Hard to answer this but here is a clue: just look at this stupid forum. Crypto communities have been built outside of bitcointalk, with its members migrating over to other social media platforms in a move to broaden their reach. Now, what's left here is pretty much deserted and left on its own. Yikes.

Naturally you have a solution?  If you don't mind explaining which other forums are discussing GameCoin, then perhaps we could have a look see?  Also, do you have any suggestions for listing on exchanges and block explorers?  People are mining which is keeping the block-chain moving (which every coin needs) but a block explorer or three wouldn't go astray.

Thanks again.

thecoin.pw is over!

I wonder how many Game Coins were still on that exchange?  I had a couple of thousand, but my loss is limited to just those coins.  I wonder what coins were stolen?

maybe someone can help me analyze this, there could be many cheating participants.

...

@Denongels many thanks for your post.  I would appreciate it if you could go back and use the Submission Form for this investigation which everyone else uses to present their investigations.  You have the bulk of the work done already, by adding the template other users can quickly see who the identified alts are.  Never forget this isn't a Witch Hunt, it is an oportunity to identify users who have alts and if those users and/or alts are scamming, then others will be warned.  As I tell everyone, don't expect a DT1 to come along and give Negative Trust Feedback to scammer's accounts.  You have to do that yourself and if or when you become DT2 (or even DT1) then those red tags will show up for all to see.

4160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 😃 JAPAN: Feedback on Japanese market with gambling and bitcoin 😃 on: May 22, 2020, 11:06:52 PM
If you look at the link I provided for Pachinko https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pachinko you will see the loop-hole is that the ball-bearings (or tokens) used are exchanged twice outside the gaming area.

Pachinko machines and the classic American pinball machines have a lot in common - the balls are sent into the playing field, they land in various shoots of hit targets and accumulate points.  Those points are your winnings - pin-ball you usually "win" a free game and the venue keeps the proceeds.  Pachinko the winnings are smaller and you get to keep those winnings.  I've actually seen on eBay adverts for engraved or stylised ball bearings you can use to play on the machines.

Anyone setting up a Pachinko game would have to factor in ball movement and frequency of wins that are "provably fair" (not to mention the "House EEdge") - It can probably be argued quite successfully that your crypto is buying game plays in the same way you buy three or five (or however many) balls when you play pin-ball and your winnings are more game plays which you either "cash out" or continue playing.  (a similar argument can probably be made concerning Live Casino poker chips - you "buy" the chip and you that token to place your bets.  If you win those chips are either cashed out or used to place more wagers).
