4145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: January 15, 2014, 09:23:45 AM
It's hard150 GRC if you're BOINC was 100% when you found the block. At least this is how I understand it.

if i write listminers rightnow it seem there is 32 miners in the pool. It's seem, also, that the total pyaments is 135.665121. I think that values is associated at the last block found by the pool. There is also a lot of other stats, for example:
"Block Hour" : 20,
"Wallet Hour" : 6,
"Current Hour" : 19
what does that means?? Devs, can you help us?

If i understood right you example, i can mine in pool and wait until i find a block. After that, i can stop mining in pool and for the next 4 days i can mine in solo and get in the worst case 150gridcoin (gained by the pool). Is it that right?
Yes you got it right, you can first find a block, then either continue in the pool forever and get a payment any time another pool miner finds a block, or you can quit poolmining and receive payments for the dynamic lookback window (like u said 4 days etc).

Block Hour and Wallet Hour are reserved for when we get higher difficulty and want to move to daily payments; then we can pay you inside your wallet hour once per day.  Right now you receive 30+ payments per day.

Good luck,Grid

Please see answers inline:

thx for the reply...i've some more questions:

1)how can i find how much time i will get paymest from the pool after i find a block if i stop mining in the pool right after i find my first block? and, in that days, i've always get in total 150gridcoin if i use 100%boinc cpu and have >1000 boinc avg daily credits?

------------> Your first payment is within an hour of finding a block; then approx hourly thereafter; after you quit it is T+lookback_period, that is the 3rd # in listminers

2)this payments are every 24 hours? 12? or what?
-------------->  Every time a pool miner finds a block you are paid

3)Grand Total Payments that i read at the botton of listminers is the total gridcoin given for the last block found?
--------------------------------->  No, total gridcoin awarded for the pool mined block

4)when you say that "Right now you receive 30+ou ere  payments per day"...what does it mean? that i receive 30gridcoin for everyday i stay in the pool after i found my first block? and...this 30grc are not the same that i ear from my shares in the pool??

--------------------------> You are paid once for each pool miner block found, so if there are 30 pool miners and they find 5 blocks per day you are paid 150 times per day

I'm sorry...so more questions: but diff is gonna get so high for me Cheesy

thx for the reply.

I have an other question...i'm sorry if you have just answered but i think that this point is very important.
if i mine in pool, i'll start to get payed when i'll find my first block, and, i'll keep get payed even if i quit mining for a few day after that.

But what happen if i find a block mining in pool and then keep mining in pool without find any other block, for, don't know, 15 o more days..? Will i keep have payouts? And if i reboot my pc, do i have to "restart from the beginning", and find a block to get payout again?

If diff keep increase miner with low harshare like me will have huge problem to find blocks... Sad

Thx again!

Anyways...is it possible that no one here is mining in pool and can write some stats?
4146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: January 14, 2014, 09:24:53 PM
It's hard to tell you exactly how many you'll get a day. The pool is based on an algorithm that's dynamically related to the difficulty. As the difficulty goes up, the longer you'll stay in the pool. For example, when difficulty was less than 1 you would stay in the pool for about 1-2 days without finding a block. If you do listminers in the debug console of your Gridcoin client, you'll see a list of all the miners in the pool. Under where it says TimeSpan: is the time in seconds I think that account has left in the pool until he finds another block. As for when you find a block, you still get paid the entire amount I'm pretty sure. So if you found a block and then stopped mining right after you found it for example, your first payment would by tiny, but for the next two days you'll get increasing payments each time the pool finds a block, then it'll peak and decrease down to 0 the next two days and you'll end up with 150 GRC if you're BOINC was 100% when you found the block. At least this is how I understand it.

No you wont get the entire block for yourself. How do you think it could work that way?

The found block goes for the entire pool and you get shares for that block. The share you will get depends on how many blocks you have found for the pool.

and it takes atleast 24 hours to get your max sharerate and maxinum payout to happen. And after you stop you will receive atleast for some time those payout but of course those payout are lowering all the time.

i apologize Sad

anyway.. i try to make some example.

1)i start to mine in pool
2)after, don't know, 10 hours, i find a block. How much is the reward of this block? 150?. Anyways.. since that, i've found only 1 block, so i will get a number of shares very small
3)after that (if i mine for at least 24 hours..in a row?) i will get payout for some times, even if i don't find any block.

Somebody who mine in pool, can tell us how many coins get at day?
4149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: January 14, 2014, 02:28:22 PM
150 kh/second, poolmining=true, boinc average daily = 7000+

I was trickling in a pretty regular amount daily but it just seems to have up and died on me.

can anyone explain how poolmining=true works?

maybe a good explanation can be added in the first post... the absence of pool can "reject" some new user with low hashrate...

thanks!

i think that my question is going to be more and more important with che diff that become higher and higher..

nobody?

maybe Rob can answer you nicely. I never use this pool, just tried for a short time.

This is a build in pool and quite different as other traditional pool.

you have to mine/solve a block to get shares, and you get paid over time.

The only benefit of pool mining of gridcoin is that in case the diff. increase fast, you can still get paid if you have shares before.

thx...i try to make an example to verify if i've understood well.

1)i start to mine in pool.
2)after 10hours i found a block, a block with the diff of the entire network
3)after that, i receive the entire block i've found and shares of the next block "the pool" will find?

4)if i stop mining, the next day i restart from 1)?

CryptOTC isn't an exchange, I don't handle the transactions that take place unless you request escrow of me.  CryptOTC is an alternative to the google docs method.  You place offers and people can respond to your offers.  The trade that takes place is solely between you and the other party

What are your escrow fees?

I am working on an automated escrow system which would have 0% fees, until then I will have to escrow manually so I would request 1.5%

this suonds really good!

So when i have my boinc utilization at 100%, my hashrate drops about 20%. If its around 50% then my hashrate is back to normal.

So having 100% cpu utilization takes away some hashing power.

Didn't know that and i thought maybe someone else would find this info useful.

ahhhh so i'm not the only one with this problem!!!

but some people don't have this problem...just to know, what version of boinc and cgmier are you running?

I just ran the upgrade command today, so it should be the latest version.

i've have an older version...uhm.. i don't know why some people has this problem and other don't. Any ideas?
