Yay! I got my 290X So to make the shift over from nVidia to AMD, what's the AMD process for the Gridcoin client. Does it have the cgminer built in? I've got the client up and running in the machine with the new card but don't see any activity card wise.

I would say we are pretty active. Maybe we are not like dogecoin, LOL. I think most of the people in crypto community are only interested in short term gain. It is all greed and pump and dump. Very few people look for anything long term. Most of our society is structured for "I want mine now" immediate satisfaction. There is very little patience these days. Even despite all that, we are still growing @ a pretty steady pace. If you look at what happens with most of the alt coins on the exchanges, most of them have down sloping graphs with the exception of Bitcoin and Litecoin. why? Because everyone is mining and dumping, no one really believes in the long term use or value of these coins. Initially a coin may have lots of hype, but over the long term they are all going in the toilet. why isn't GRC more popular that Earthcoin>?
because it doesn't have enought "marketing"...for example there wasn't any giveaway... Yeap. We have great coin with small and inactive community. Sad but true. It's more looks like for me "Shhh! Don't tell anyone! Let us mine at ~2 diff as long as we can." And while it's so quiet around GRC, no processor time coming to BOINC. I can be wrong about this. That news about 700 MHash/s rig disturbing me too. Single guy, or couple, with powerful rigs will donate to BOINC not much points but will generate hundreds of thousands of GRC. I'd prefer 1000 guys with single 290X, for example, which will donate much more to BOINC. That's why our community must spread info about GRC more active. IMHO

I figured out how to use the internal cgminer now Yay. No more having to use cudaminer and having it choke on me. Now I just need to find the optimum config for the card within the client.

IMHO who said they are donating not much boinc points. i know this guy has 155 E3 cpus donating to boinc, although with the purpose of earning XRP. what i try to do is letting everybody know the true value behind GRC. I hope more and more people will join GRC. I have introduced more than tens of people into GRC already. Please everybody try to spread GRC as much as possible. Do not satisfy with the current diff, otherwise it will finally kill GRC.

I've got the client up and running in the machine with the new card but don't see any activity card wise. Also, in addition to that guide, if you are familiar with setting up cgminer for scrypt, the new preferred method for mining grc is to go to Mining | Mining Configuration and fill out the form completely (no blanks) then click save, then Create Cgminer instance, and OK, then try using the in client cgminer api. You can probably find the 290x in the consolidated guide to litecoin mining (ie for the settings). Good luck! Grid

These exchanges pop up and disappear with peoples money all the time. I'd wait for either bter or cryptsy or possible coins-e.

I will give it a chance with little quantities of cryptocoins. *** EDIT *** Oh... It's not exchange actually. It's like our Google Docs sheet - list of offers. Nice, i will try.

CryptOTC isn't an exchange, I don't handle the transactions that take place unless you request escrow of me. CryptOTC is an alternative to the google docs method. You place offers and people can respond to your offers. The trade that takes place is solely between you and the other party

What are your escrow fees? I am working on an automated escrow system which would have 0% fees, until then I will have to escrow manually so I would request 1.5%

yes, GRC is ready to exploding. We are now close to diff. 5 and many exchanges will accept us in a short time if we break diff. 5.

150 kh/second, poolmining=true, boinc average daily = 7000+
I was trickling in a pretty regular amount daily but it just seems to have up and died on me.
can anyone explain how poolmining=true works? maybe a good explanation can be added in the first post... the absence of pool can "reject" some new user with low hashrate... thanks! i think that my question is going to be more and more important with che diff that become higher and higher.. nobody?
